A must see in Agra

Any pictures don't do it justice. As a foreign visitor the fee is higher but it includes a local guide who then will want a tip. Our guide was great. Definitely get the mosoleum add on. Our visit endwd with a walk through local shops, nice stuff and a lot of pressure to buy to support the locals.

Fabulous tour! Well worth doing

Our guide, Lalita, was fabulous - very knowledgable and able to communicate key facts in a succinct, meaningful way. We were even guided to the most favourable spots for photography (and the quietest, cleanest loos!). We had considered seeing the Taj without a guide - take our tip; DON'T! We are so glad we chose this tour

Taj and Red Fort

The tour was good. I went at 6 am. I recommend this, as doors opens at 6.30, and there is very few people to enter and to enjoy inside without crowds. If you go that early, I don´t know how much it´s worth to buy the ticket to skip line. But when I was leaving, already a lot of people were entering. The same ticket for Taj is used for Red Fort (no need to buy another!) After Red Fort guide took me to a place saying he wanted to show me how stones are worked as in TajMahal, but they were not working, it was a shop; they offer you an explanation and to buy things with high prices. He also wanted to take me to another shop afterwards, but I didnt wanted to, so we didint. Just make sure to say so if you don´t want to be taken to shops, and I wouldn´t recommend to buy there, as things are overpriced.

Our tour guide made it an experience to remember.

We had an excellent tour of the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide collected us from the hotel and arranged all the transport and entry tickets. Her name was Lalita and she has been a tour guide for 20 years. She was one of the first female guides in the area. Lalita knew all the history of both sites and where to go to take the best photos. Fantastic experience. I'm not sure if you can request a specific guide when you book but might be worth asking if Lalita is available.

Highly recommended!

We had a fabulous tour with Lalita, who was knowledgable, friendly and very helpful. Lalita's support throughout the tour was invaluable, streamlining ticketing and security checks, so that we were ready for the sunrise. We were guided to the best spots for photography and Lalita took some amazing images for us. When we were ready, we went on to Agra fort where we learned much of its history and connection to the Taj Mahal. We cannot recommend Lalita highly enough; it really felt like we were being guided by a family friend. We are so glad we didn't attempt this tour unguided!

Unmissable!

An amazing time with a very good guide. The Taj Mahal leaves breathless and the visit, taken in early morning (not at sunrise because of fog), was super with proper explanations and the right amount of freedom.

Great Tour Guide!

Our tour guide Mohammad Tofiq Khan was so kind and helpful. The Taj was foggy (he warned us but we couldn't change the time) so he still gave a great tour and helped us get better photos on our way home. Great work!

Brilliant day, would highly recommend

Our guide AK came to meet us at the hotel and took us firstly to the Taj Mahal and then onto Agra Fort. He was really lovely and extremely knowledgeable about both places. He also took some fantastic pictures for us too (it was like we had our own personal photographer). We had a brilliant day with him and took him out for lunch afterwards. We didn't queue at all and it saved so much time. Would highly recommend him and this tour.

Wonderful experience with knowledgeable guide

Absolutely fantastic tour with Arif today. Got into the Taj Mahal just as the sun was rising, thanks to his great advice of avoiding the crowds and going through the west gate. I will never forget my experience of the Taj Mahal and I would highly recommend the service of Arif (and the driver, also called Arif!).

Using a tour guide is highly recommended to visit Taj Mahal, but beware.

We enjoyed our visit to Taj Mahal/Agra Fort and the guide was flexible and willing to add on the Tomb of I'timad-ud-Daulah (Baby Taj) for an additional cost paid in cash. The guide was helpful to take thoughtful photos and we felt comfortable with him as he was friendly, attentive and was wearing an ID that identified him as a "certified" guide but we were disappointed that he did not provide accurate historical information on several points, including that all the text inscribed on the walls of Taj consisted of the entire Qu'ran, which it does not. On our way back to the hotel at the end of our tour he took us to a marble shop without our permission where we endured a very high pressure sales person and it was very uncomfortable. This definitely felt especially scam-ish because when we were dropped off at our hotel, one of the managers of the hotel asked us directly if we went to the marble shop and specifically asked us how much we spent. That was really odd and made us feel like there was some sort of kick back for those involved.

Memories of a lifetime

An amazing experience to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise. Our guide Kumar did an excellent job showing us around, as well as taking memorable pictures around the palace. The Agra Fort tour was also impressive, and with Kumar’s knowledge and skill for storytelling the two iconic scenes were brought to life. Highly recommended experience.

Taj mahal and agra fort tickets and guide

Amazing day with Rashid, a historical fort having incredible architecture and ambience vast area of fort is with indian defence for tourists few portion was open. Our guide explained us in detail offcourse some room for improvements but we overlooked. We visited both Taj and agra fort on morning session. Overall recommended. Communication from company is on top of world. Thank you Rashid to make our trip to taj mahal memorable.

Be cautious with the assigned guides

The booking process was simple and speaking with the “agency” that sells this tour on TripAdvisor was efficient. They were able to answer our questions and communicate easily for the meet up. The agency work or employ multiple guides. In our case, the guide that was assigned to us from this agency was definitely untruthful and dishonest: - He is in touch with different photographers in Taj Mahal and he will negotiate the price against you because he gets a commission. (He will pretend that he does not know them) - He will take you after the tour to some local shops to sell you some stones x10 the price because he gets a commission from these shops. Our driver explained to us afterward all his tricks to make money out of tourists. This might be a generalized practice in this attraction and is maybe not specific to this guide. Please be aware! Overall, we enjoyed visiting Agra Fort and Taj Mahal but were left a bit disappointed by the guide tricks.

Convenient, but beware

Good if you want the convenience of getting in easy and having someone showing you around. Of course, Taj Mahal and Agra Fort are breathtaking. What I didn't like: • Guide provided very basic information • Spent less time at Taj Mahal than promised (just 1.5hr) • Was taken to a marble shop with very overpriced items and pushy seller, possibly a scam • Guide tried to make me pay for transport I don't think it's worth the cost of convenience.

I paid for 3 foreign...

I paid for 3 foreign adults . However,, actually we were two OCI holders. I got a message that the difference in price will be refunded. Our tour guide was excellent!

Agra in a 1/2 day

My entire experience was great. My guide was an excellent coordinator and made logistics very easy. He arranged for a driver to meet me at the Agra train station. The driver had my photo and made it easy to get out of the chaotic train station. Taj and Agra Fort were incredible! Guide was very knowledgeable. This trip is the way to do Agra in a day if you don’t mind tuk Tuks. This actually made it very easy. After a quick stop at my lodging to drop luggage, tuk tuk took us quickly to the Taj. After Taj he was waiting for us and took us to lunch. After lunch on to the Agra Fort. After the day the guide escorted me back to my lodging. Overall a great experience. Highly recommend.

The Taj Mahal is an intriguing mirage

My guide was really nice and even came to meet me at the train station ti remove the stress of finding a tuktuk. Taj Mahal is worth a visit.

Great Tour and Guide

Had a good visit with our guide Harish, we went for sunrise and he was at our Homestay before the agreed time of 5.30am. The skip the line tickets were provided as promised, though one note is that the gates do not open until 30 mins before sunrise so you will not just walk in at that time, but once the queue opened up we were in very quickly. Harsh had a good knowledge of the TAJ and explained very well, also he knew all the best angles for photos. It was a bit smoggy at first until the the sun burnt some of it away, but looking at the queues later in the day I would suggest early is best. A very good tour and would highly recommend, first went to the TAJ 28 years ago and it is still the most beautiful building in the world.

Great guide for Taj Mahal

Saved worry of getting tickets from busy ticket office and a great guide explaining all about the Taj Mahal and Mugal Emperor Shah Johan. Highly recommend to any visitor.

Fantastic Taj!

I recommend this experience! For the price, you get a knowledgeable tour guide who narrates the history of Taj Mahal as he walks with you through the premises. The fee also includes the ticket price for admission into the Taj complex and mausoleum. I recommend going as early as possible during the day (just before sunrise) to avoid the crowds. The guide also takes photos using your mobile phone which is a good bonus.

Guide participate in a scam

Everything was good till Taj part ending. Before it, guide seemed to be frendly, knew some info about location, local people and monument. After Taj, guide offered to go to “authentic” juvelery shop, where some marmour plates and other stuff are made and sold. They told nice stories, tried to sell and so on. Day after we found same goods 4 - 6 times cheeper in local shoping mall. But worst happened after this shop. Before going to Agra fort, guide asked some extra money for “special” ticket, which in his words, was not included into tour price. After some discusions, chat print screens and call to managers, he told that everything is ok, and it was misanderstanding between him and his managers. Tour in Agra fort was short, just some pieces of info was told, without any bacstory and basically we just walked room after room till finished whole complex.

Our Agra trip won’t have been the same without India saying Namaste Trips !!!!

Our experience of Taj was enhanced to a much higher degree by our guide, Sumit Chaurasia & tour organiser Laxman Suthar of the India saying Namaste Trips. 

Right from the moment go all communications with Laxman were on WhatsApp, which made life much easier for me, especially with the UK-India time zone differences. His responses were prompt and prices were cheaper than most, and we even got refund adjustments as we were all OCI card holders and TripAdvisor prices are for foreigners only, and we didn’t even ask for it ! 

During our 3 day visit to Agra, we found ourselves with more time on our hands and because their services were so good and easy/flexible, we booked 2 additional short tours with them, to fill the gaps in our itinerary, while on trip ! 

I can’t have enough praises for our guide, Sumit ! It’s one thing looking at a breathtaking monument and then there is a totally another level where someone provides all the background stories, the big & the small details and the “why’s” to appreciate Taj in an entirely new light. Why the minars are at an angle, the choice of location to have the background which makes Taj even more magnificent, the story of the future King and Queen meeting in Meena Bazaar, why Taj has no cobwebs etc etc etc …….. the list goes on, but having a knowledgeable guide is such a huge plus and the prices were quite honest & fair. 

We travelled in a large family group and Sumit was able to capture the attention of all ages, especially the young kids and teens, so that the group as a whole were well engaged and the pace of the tour was good, not too fast - not too slow, and he answered all our questions, and provided us tips to navigate the locals/vendors. 

We even got the Laxman’s team to organise travel van for a large group, at a price much cheaper than our Hotel travel desk. And they also helped us at the marble & ‘Petah’ shopping, one can’t ask for more !

Note: I haven’t/won’t receive any incentive to post this review, it’s purely voluntary to show my genuine appreciation of the services I’ve received and hopefully help more people find a better experience of Taj !

Great, I highly recommend it!

The guide is very friendly, knowledgeable and clear. We really didn’t have to make any lines or wait to get in. She also took great pictures of us and was very nice about it. The pace/structure of the tour is perfect — we had as much time as we wanted and needed to see the site, learn, appreciate details and take some pictures. Everything ran very smoothly and the experience was 100% positive.

Sumit was an excellent tour guide

This was an amazing experience and going with a guide to Taj Mahal and Agra fort is highly recommended, especially coming from me who doesn’t usually hire guides when traveling. Sumit was our guide and he showed up early to begin the tour from our hotel. He was very knowledge about the history, was very patient with us as we navigated the sites and lastly was an amazing photographer who captured several beautiful shots of my wife and I. Definitely recommend Sumit for anyone taking this tour.

Amazing experience

We had an amazing experience visiting the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort, our guides Mr. Sumit Chaurasia and Mr. Vivek , made it amazing for us.They were professionals, extremely polite and helpful, trying to meet all of our requests and to suit our schedule at our convinience making it as comfortable it can be for us. Tajmahal visit

I boked it online and met Mr. ashish gupta near the gate. I have earlier taken help of Guides. But ashish Gupta was just amazing. Absolutely clear on what he wants to communicate with immence knowledge and very professional in his approach. We were lucky to get his serivce. I will surely recommend him for all your trips and it ea one of the nest edperienfe for myself and my family members.

Flexible and helpful

We paid for this service in advance of our trip to India. The tickets are bought the day before your ciair which allows flezibility and we were easily able to change the date of our visits to the Taj and Agra fort. Communication was very easy and prompt. We would be visiting on International Women's Day, when all monuments were free to enter for females and therefore they contacted us to let us know and provided us with a full refund. Very honest and helpful service that we would recommend and use again. Thank you!

Great morning tour at the Taj Mahal

Overall, it was a great tour! Arif, our guide, picked us up from the hotel in the morning with a driver and drove us to the Taj Mahal. We are very happy that we were there with a guide because Arif knew exactly how to proceed with his experience so that we didn't have to wait in line for long. We got great information about the history and had enough time to take great pictures. Here, too, Arif knew the best photo spots. After the Taj Mahal, you often visit a shop where you are shown how marble is traditionally worked and of course you can also buy nice souvenirs there. As we had already been to a shop like this with another tour, we skipped it and shortened the tour, but Arif was very understanding and we were taken straight back to the hotel. We can definitely recommend Arif and the morning tour.

We went alone by train, a tough experience. The guide picked us up at the station, he was with us the whole time. We saw the Taj Mahal, went to lunch and then to Agra Fort. Excellent guide! Kind and prepare yourself

Mauvais guide

Nous avions réservé cette visite avec un guide français pour profiter au maximum et bien comprendre l’histoire du Taj Mahal et du Fort Rouge, résultat le guide était indien et parlait anglais très vite avec un cheveux sur la langue. Il marchait très vite et la visite fût rapide. Nous n’avons presque rien compris de ce qu’il nous racontait car son anglais était approximatif. Il n’a pas su répondre a nos questions, ses connaissances étaient limités sur l’histoire passée et même actuelle de l’Inde. Une impression d’attrape touriste avec un guide sans beaucoup de compétences. A la fin il nous a demandé un pourboire nous lui avons donné un pourboire généreux et il l’a refusé en disant que ce n’était pas assez. Très impoli de sa part. Nous sommes très déçues de ce guide alors que nous nous faisions une joie de visiter cet endroit. Service décevant.
