Bucket list experience

I’ve been wanting to write this review since Wednesday but my internet just wouldn’t work. I’ve been dying to share our experience with this great tour. The tour guide Kev, skipper Anthony and the volunteers at the Bustard Head Lighthouse gave us the most amazing experience on an exceptional day of weather to top it off. My mother-in-law Margaret has been able to cross this off her bucket list and I was so happy to be able to share this trip with her. So much knowledge was shared, much laughter was had, and a great picnic lunch was shared. The tour group I was with talked about the amazing day right up until the day we went home. I also want to send out a special thanks to the volunteers at the lighthouse who found a treasured pendant that I lost while at the lighthouse. Thanks so much guys. I Really Really Larced This Tour!!!

Absolutely beautiful trip and a one of a kind experience. Kev was a very enthusiastic tour guide who kept things fun and humorous. There were kids on the tour (not mine) and Kev was absolutely fantastic with them. Morning tea featured fresh fruit, chips (or crisps for you American folks) and homemade Anzac biscuits (or cookies for you Brits). Lunch was a nice fresh chicken and salad wrap. Sandblasting was fun and Kev was great at teaching newbies, like me, how to do it. If your after a fun day out with gorgeous views and want to spot sealife luke green turtles, dolphins, fish, stingray and crabs then book this tour!

What an absolute fabulous day. Great scenery and experiences. Guides full of local knowledge and history expertise. Great food, great location, weather was perfect. Special shout out to Kev the tour guide and Skipper Anthony Definitely recommend this to anyone. We had all ages on the boat from 5 to 80 5 stars Get on board

Best day out, great value for money

One of the best day tours I've ever done. Great value for the money. The LARC travels 28 km each way along the beach, crossing four large creeks using the propeller. The commentary by Kev and Neil was very informative and indicates their passion for this pristine environment. They are both lifetime locals so they really know the area. The lighthouse and museum tour were a credit to the local volunteers who restored and maintain this heritage precinct. Morning tea and a healthy lunch were included, along with traditional billy tea, in an undercover shelter on Bustard Head. I'd definitely recommend this tour!!! Great day trip at Agnes Water

View from the lighthouse was excellent. Commentary from crew all day good. View along journey was excellent and fauna and flora pointed out to us as we went. Morning tea and lunch were high standard foods.will do it again next year.

Paradise Tour

Thanks Neil & Kev for a great day out, morning tea & lunch were simple but all you needed, the Billy tea was very nice. Toilets t the morning tea & lunch stop were very welcomed & clean, the trip to the lighthouse was very informative & views to die for, thanks to the volunteers for all there knowledge. The sand boarding was entertaining for those that participated. Great day had by all.

Fantasy day out. Neil (Skipper) is very experienced and knowledgeable about the area, history and wildlife. Kev is witty, funny and also very knowledgeable about the area, lots of fun and energy. Morning Tea and Lunch was simple but fresh and enjoyable and plentiful. Excellent tour of the Bustard Lighthouse, great photos and history. Beautiful scenery. Bit old for sand boarding but lots of others had a lot of fun. Overall one of the best tours we’ve ever done. Well done not just to Neil and Kev but also everyone in the background that makes everything work so well xx

Full Day, Full Belly, Full Experience

Our full day tour to Bustard Head was an absolute treat. Skipper Neil and Decky Kev were entertaining, informative, amazing scenery and the stories of historical significance and the importance of the environment were just world class. What a fabulous day out and thoroughly entertained throughout.

Awesome way to spend the day

100% recommend doing this trip. The commentary from Kev & Neil was very entertaining & knowledgeable at the same time along with Pat & Wal's tour up at the lighthouse where the views were breathtaking. After a refreshing lunch we went sandboarding down the sand dunes which was so much fun! Thanks again guys for a great day out.

Great all round, fun & learning experience

Last month we did an all day Larc Tour to Bustard Head Lighthouse. The weather wasn’t fantastic, but it did not matter. The Skipper & Kevin the Tour Guide ensured that we had a very entertaining day. The lighthouse tour was very interesting and the sand boarding was a blast. It was very well organised with a delicious lunch. We highly recommend the his tour for a fun, interesting day learning about the history of 1770.

Wow what a fantastic day, great guides, plenty of laughs, very informative tour, well worth it, would totally do it again. The lighthouse tour was amazing so much to learn, very interesting I can't recommend it enough. Kev was the highlight on our travel over and back on the Larc he was awesome. It's a must do.

Stunning, historical, prestine!

Excellent day, filled with history, nature, adventure, and fun. The team was knowledgeable and entertaining. The food and refreshments were delish. We'd do it again.

Amazing experience!

Wow! What an amazing day we had out on the larc with Kevin the tour guide and skip. The views were like something out of a travel magazine and the whole experience was sensational. Lunch and morning tea was beautiful. The volunteers at the lighthouse with the info they had were outstanding also. Loved it. Will do it again on my next visit.

Bucket List Tour

What an amazing experience 10/10 Local stories and history as you make your way to the lighthouse was just the right mix. Meeting the locals spinner and squirt and Kev’s collective nouns were an added delight. Highly recommend any of the Larc tours definitely a bucket list must do. Thankyou for the day.

Absolutely worth it!

Absolutely incredible tour. Highly recommended. Lots of fun and different experiences. So good to ensure that history is preserved through this tour. Food was very nice. Kev and Ant were the best guides. Lots of humour and a wealth of knowledge.

10/10 Experience

This tour is a must do when visiting the area. The day was well organised and the time went very quick with Kev keeping us all entertained. Skip did an awesome job of driving us through the different terrains. The food supplied by the cafe formorning tea and lunch was lovely, especially the Anzac bikkies. The Lighthouse tour was really informative and enjoyable. Sand boarding was great and the swim afterwards was just what we needed to finish the day off. Overall a great day 10/10 for everyone involved.

Just do it

The full day tour is a must do. Loved the high energy of Kev, and the LARC skipper Ant was brilliant. The LARC gives you access to places you just couldn’t see without this tour. The lighthouse tour and swimming was fantastic. I didn’t do the sand boarding as I’m recovering from an injury but I got to swim and whilst doing so got to watch those who chose to sand board. Kev decided to show us how he could sand board and fly at the same time haha, good on yah Kev. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to make it up to the top of the lighthouse but it was broken up into easy sections and worth it for the view at the top. The trip was really informative about the area’s history, wildlife, environment, people . Just do it.

Wow. Outstanding full day trip.

Where to start... It is one of the best value for money tours we have ever done. Full day of organised information, tours, food, swimming, sand boarding, inside the light house, and museum and small cemetry explanations. Incredibly knowledgeable volunteer staff. Outstanding views. Awesome transportation on the LARK in the water then up on the land. So much fun. Always felt very safe. Kevin, our tour guide was something else.. lots of "dad jokes" a very happy energetic guide. Massive accolades must go to the fantastic Antony or "Skip" as he was called,his precision in driving the LARK.. Thankyou to the whole team. Most highly recommended that you do this tour. You will not be disappointed

One of if not the best Tours I have been on

Kev and the skipper Ant were amazing. So much fun and I would say one of the best days out I and the family have had. Such a memorable day with lots of laughs and also knowledge and Kev great dad jokes. I would definitely do it again and highly recommend for anyone to do it

Exceptional Unique experience

Great tour guides providing plenty of history, laughs, and entertainment. Our tour guide Kev and Skipper Antony were exceptional. The food was brilliant and our teenage boys were entertained by the sand boarding and the tour of the lighthouse. The LARC vehicle is so much fun and a unique experience. The national park is absolutely spectacular. A must do in Seventeen Seventy

Best family day out!!!

With Kev and Skipper Ant, we had the most amazing day, lots of rich historical stories from Kev and Ant, lots of dad jokes from Kev, he included everyone - kids and adults, with minties for correct answers to his questions, well everyone got one eventually ;). Weather was amazing, the lighthouse was very educative and interesting, sandboarding was amazing and so was the swim, lunch was healthy and filling, everything was amazing for us. Thanks Kev, Ant and the LARC team.

A day in my life on the Larc

This was our 4th time on the Paradise tour. We took our friends with us this time. Again the whole experience was amazing. From Lea in the Office to the funniest informative guide Kev and Skipper Anton to our lovely guides at the Lighthouse Karen and Bruce. The day was perfect, blue skies, clear water and the views amazing yet again. Apart from laughing so much at Kev's jokes, watching my friends sandboarding down the dunes, highlight of the trip for me was Kev's trick with the coins, scrummy food and stopping on the way home on the beach to collect the most amazing shells 🐚. Congratulations again Larc team was a great day out.

Monday madness

Epic day with legends Ant and Kev on Easter Monday. A lot of information and entertainment, with a ripper lunch after the lighthouse tour. Sandboarding was a treat, unfortunately the bruises won't last forever to remember it by. Excellent day on the whole.

Everything rolled into one!

What a fantastic tour! It had a little bit of everything - nature, history, adventure, humour! Amazing! Kev, our tour guide, is a national treasure - the loveliest guy who not only exudes happiness but has excellent knowledge, and the best jokes around. As a huge scaredy cat, the thought of sand tobogganing was terrifying to me, but I did it and loved it. For any other scaredy-cats, don’t even hesitate on it! Highly recommend.

Best tour we have ever done

Highly recommend this tour, our family had an absolutely fantastic day. Very well organised, so much knowledge gained from our guides, lunch was delicious, scenery was spectacular. The whole day was just so much fun. Our guide Kev was an absolute legend. I have never come across anyone that enjoys their job more, it was very clear that his and skipper’s mission was to ensure that all on board enjoyed a wonderful day and they nailed it.

Wholly Dooley this tour was amazing! The whole day was very entertaining. So informative about local history and wildlife and The lighthouse itself has a fascinating history. You just can't beat the views. Lunch on the tour was delicious! We had Kev and Skip on our tour. Ask Kev about his Guiness World Record trick.

Fantastic tour

What an excellent day we had. Kevin and Skip (Anthony) were fantastic. Kevin kept us all laughing with his jokes and very informative with his knowledge of the area. The lighthouse tour was great thanks to the volunteers Karen and Bruce that were there maintaining it for the tours. The Lark goes all the way to the Lighthouse. Only really needed to walk roughly 500m around the area. (200m to walk down to the cemetery, 58 steps to the top of the Lighthouse and if sandblasting the climb up the dune). Over all great day had by all. With morning tea and lunch provided even Billy tea it was well worth it. We will be back with family.

This trip was amazing. Travelling in a vehicle that goes from land to water effortlessly was an experience in itself. Then the bastard head lighthouse, steeped in history, hardship and yet something that has saved thousands of lives. Our skipper Antony and MC Kev made the entire trip. You must do this adventure, you won't regret it. Tippo.

A whole day with the Larc!

Had an absolutely fabulous day with Kev and Captain Anthony. Kev entertained us with stories, history and wildlife education. He even serenaded us, (but we won’t mention the bad Dad jokes). Their attention to the safety and comfort of their passengers was second to none. Beautiful scenery and all up a wonderful experience! Thank you team Larc!

Absolutely, amazing. So enjoyable and worth every minute. Loved the lighthouse and especially the sand boarding. Went with a school group and was the best thing I have ever done!

A day of adventure and fun

We had an outstanding fun filled adventurous day out with our entertaining host Kevin ( world champion Dad jokes and Guinness Book of Records recipient ) and Anthony ( driver ). Both men were highly competent in explaning to us the natural and cultural history of the area and they proved to be an excellent team and a credit to the company. When you visit 1770 you MUST do the day long tour. You will not regret it!!

Fabulous Day Out!

We booked this tour last minute and every aspect from booking through to the tour was amazing. Ellie helped us so much with our booking..... Anthony and Kev made the entire trip enjoyable. They entertained us whilst also sharing so much history of the area. Our group was 2 teachers and 15 high school students and they all had a wonderful day. The lunch was delicious and filling, the sand boarding was extremely fun and the staff all interacted. What a fabulous tour! Highly recommend.

Great Tour on the Larc@1770!

Great 2hr tour on the Larc! Ant was our guide and did an awesome job on taking us on our tour! He was very informative and was a great host! Travelled along some beautiful beaches and stopped for our lunch which was salad raps, fruit and their famous Anzac cookies! All the staff were very friendly and helpful and we would definitely recommend this business for a fun and informative day out! We will definitely be back for their full day trip!

Loved it.

10/10 for the LARC team and thanks for the memories. Love your work Kev and who would have thought you’d catch 33 coins from your elbow on a moving vehicle. This trip is ideal for all ages and families and is a must do when visiting 1770.

Fantastic Day out with Lots of History

Had the best day out for ages! Super knowledgeable tour leader Sam and driver Ant . Also excellent lunch and morning tea from 1770 Marina Cafe. Highly recommended if you ever get to 1770. Do not miss it!

Spectacularly entertaining and informative.

Our tour guides were exceptional. They were informative and very funny. The meals were superb and so was the scenery. The LARC showed its true worth going up a steep slope on land to the Lighthouse and dealing with deep tidal sand holes on the beach. The sand boarding was entertaining and the opportunity for a swim on a hot day welcomed. We highly recommend this truly memorable experience. It was worth every cent we paid.

Turtley Awesome Tour!

Finally got time to go on the full day Paradise Tour to Bustard Head Lightstation. It was everything I expected from the reviews I had from friends. With the added bonus of not one but two Turtle rescues during the tour! Kev was our MC for the day and the jokes and entertainment never flagged. I was amazed at his famous coin catching on a moving machine trick. Ask him to repeat it, let him have 3 goes, it ain't easy! The sandboarding was another highlight, brilliant fun. All ages had a go on our tour, they weren't disappointed. I had read the Lighthouse of Tragedy book by Stuart Buchanan the week before going so was really interested in seeing the places mentioned. We had the owner of the LARC tours driving, Neil, so heaps of great info flowed our way. All in all an amazing experience and highly recommended.

A must-do tour

We had an unforgettable LARC! Paradise Tour, and kudos to our skipper Antony and guide Kev. They did such an amazing job in the extreme weather. The catered lunch was yummy, and there were lots of snack choices, not to mention the fun-tertainment provided by our guide, Kev. If you are a book lover, don't forget to buy a book or two (or more) during the tour. I am about to start reading The Lighthouse Keepers. Highly recommended and a must-do tour.
