Climate: Turkmenistan experiences an extreme continental climate where the temperatures in Ashgabat vary between 46°C (114°F) in summer and -5°C (23 °F) in winter, in fact it has been known to reach -22°C (-8 °F) in extremity. However, during summers the temperatures in the desert can soar up to 50°C (122 °F) during the day before falling speedily at night. During the winter season, the temperature can drop down from -10Â° to -15Â°C (14Â°â€“15Â°F).

Tourist Visa

The tourist visa is not issued to individuals. Only group visa is issued by the Embassy and need to be pre-arranged by Agents in Turkmenistan.

Private Visit

The Sponsor in Turkmenistan need to send a Sponsorship Letter (attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Turkmenistan) to the Embassy in New Delhi, through official channels.
Subsequently, the following documents are required:
Applicant’s passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of application.
Two visa forms (photocopy is allowed).
Two passport-size photographs.
Application forms should be enclosed with a Covering Letter from the Applicant.
Confirmed onward / return air ticket.
Onward Country visa (if any).
Documentary proof of funds.
Bank statements for the past 6 months.
Income Tax Returns statements for the last 3 years.
After issuance, the Visa remains valid for 90 days.
Processing time is 5 working days for normal cases & same day delivery for urgent cases. All visa fee payments need to be made in rupees.

Business Visa

Applicant’s passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of application.
Two visa forms (photocopy is allowed).
Two passport-size photographs.
The visa application should be submitted with a Covering Letter from the Indian Organization.
A Letter of Invitation from the Business Associate/s in Turkmenistan (attested by the Ministry of External Affairs) must be sent directly to the Embassy.
Confirmed onward / return air ticket.
Onward Country visa (if any).
Documentary proof of funds.

Work Permit Visa

Applicant’s passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of application.
Two visa forms (photocopy is allowed).
Two passport-size photographs.
The visa application should be submitted with a Covering Letter from the Indian Organization.
The Business Associate in Turkmenistan needs to arrange for a Work Permit Approval by the Ministry of External Affairs in Turkmenistan. This should be sent directly to the Embassy.
