The best time to visit this beautiful place is from February to April (which is the short dry season) and August to October (long dry season). The rainy seasons start from November to January and from 'May to July'. Besides all, Suriname lies outside the hurricane zone and the most extreme weather condition is the sibibusi (forest broom), a heavy rain shower.

Tourist Visa

The Applicant should have a passport with validity of at least 6 months beyond the intended period of stay in Suriname.
One duly filled-in visa form (photocopy is allowed).
Two passport size identical photographs.
A copy of itinerary and/or round trip ticket should be attached with the visa application form.
A Travel Insurance Policy will be required.
A copy of the valid UK, USA or Schengen visa (if applicable).
Documentary confirmation of Hotel bookings.
A health certificate from an authorized hospital / doctor mentioning that the applicant is not suffering from the following diseases should also be enclosed with application form.

The passport needs to be submitted after the approval from the Consular Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Suriname.
The Visa Processing time is 2 to 3 weeks.
If in case, the traveler has travelled to Suriname within 6 months of applying for next visa, then the processing time can be only one day.
Visa charges should only be paid in the form of demand draft (DD), drawn in favor of "The Embassy of the Republic of Suriname, New Delhi".

Business Visa

The Applicant should have a passport with validity of at least 6 months beyond the intended period of stay in Suriname.
One duly filled-in visa form (photocopy is allowed).
Two passport size identical photographs.
A copy of itinerary and/or round trip ticket should be attached with the visa application form.
The visa application form should be enclosed with a covering letter from the Company in India mentioning the reason, the duration for visit and specifying the source of funds.
A Letter of Invitation from the Business Associate/ s in Suriname and an ID proof of the Invitee should also be attached with the application form.
Proof of sufficient funds.
A Travel Insurance Policy will be required.
A copy of the valid UK, USA or Schengen visa (if applicable).
A health certificate from an authorized hospital / doctor mentioning that the applicant is not suffering from the following diseases should also be enclosed with application form.

A Transit Visa is required, even if passenger is continuing the journey to a third country by the same or the first connecting aircraft within 48 hours. The requirements are as follows:
The Applicant should have a passport with validity of at least 6 months beyond the intended period of stay in Suriname.
One duly filled-in visa form (photocopy is allowed).
Two passport size identical photographs.
A covering letter from the Applicant/ Company in India explaining the reason for visit, the duration and specifying the source of funds should be attached with the visa application form.
Proof of sufficient funds.

A copy of the valid UK, USA or Schengen visa (if applicable).

Seamen Visa

The Applicant should have a passport with validity of at least 6 months beyond the intended period of stay in Suriname.
One duly filled-in visa form (photocopy is allowed).
Two passport size identical photographs.
A covering letter from the Applicant/ Company in India explaining the reason for visit should be attached with visa form.
Indian Seamen should carry a Letter of Guarantee from the Shipping Company with the Seamen Book and passport. He should also hold the Letter of Acceptance from the Shipping Agent in Suriname, duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A Travel Insurance Policy will be required.
A copy of the valid UK, USA or Schengen visa (if applicable).
A health certificate from an authorized hospital / doctor mentioning that the applicant is not suffering from the following diseases should also be enclosed with application form.
