Climate: Sudan experiences extremely hot climate (becomes less in November to March). The sandstorms blow across the Sahara from April to September. In the extreme north, there is little rain but the central region the rainfall occurs from July to August. The southern region has much higher rainfall, the wet season lasts from May to October. Summers are enormously hot throughout the country, while winters are cooler in the north.

Tourist Visa
- Applicant's passport should be valid for at least 6 months. In addition, the copies of the old passport, if any, should also be enclosed with the application form.
- Two duly filled visa forms (photocopy is allowed).
- Two latest passport size photographs.
- A covering letter from the Applicant mentioning the reason of travel should also be enclosed with the application form.

- Income Tax Returns statements for the past 3 years.
- All the applications are referred to the Immigration Department and visa is issued after the approval is received.

Business Visa

- A Covering Letter from the Indian Business House recommending travel.
- A Letter of Invitation from the Business Associates attested by the Ministry of External Affairs in Sudan mentioning the purpose of the visit. The same should be faxed directly by the Immigration Department to the Embassy in India.
- A Recommendation Letter from the Chamber of Commerce in India should be enclosed the application.
- Confirmed onward / return air ticket.
- Onward country visa, if any.
- Proof of enough funds to survive in the country.

Transit Visa
- Transit visa is to be obtained by all except those passengers who continue their journey to a third country within 24 hours by the same or the first connecting aircraft.
- The Transit Visa can be issued in New Delhi for maximum stay of 72 hours.
- Applicant's passport should be valid for at least 6 months. In addition, the copies of the old passport, if any, should also be enclosed with the application form.
- Two duly filled visa forms (photocopy is allowed).
- Two latest passport size photographs.
- A Covering Letter from the Indian Business House recommending travel.
- Confirmed onward/ return air ticket.
- Onward country visa.
- The visa processing time is 3 to 4 working days, after approval is received from the Immigration Department.

Seamen Visa
- Indian Seamen travelling on duty must carry a Letter of Guarantee from the Shipping Company with the Seamen Book and passport, provided the Ship is in Harbor on the Seamen's arrival.
- The Seamen should be received by the Shipping Agent at the airport who is needed to accompany them to the Ship.
Work Permit
- Applicant's passport should be valid for at least 6 months. In addition, the copies of the old passport, if any, should also be enclosed with the application form.
