Poland is a Schengen state and has some specific visa guidelines. Kindly go through the following:

1. If the applicant planning to stay in one country only, the application must be submitted at the Representation of the same country.
2. If the applicant intends to travel to more than a few member States, the application should be submitted at the Representation of the country where the main point of travel lies mentioning the duration of stay.
3. If the main destination cannot be determined, the capable Consular office for processing the application will be one of the countries of the first port of entry into the Schengen Territory.
4. However, the long term visas are still subject to the Law of the country of destination. They must be applied for at the Consular Authorities of the concerned member of the states.

Tourist Visa

All applicants are requested to visit //secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl/Default.aspx to fill and submit their visa applications online before presenting a signed copy of the same.



  • Applicant’s passport should be valid for at least 3 months from the date of departure from the territory of the Member States (photocopy of the same is also required). Passports with validity of over 10 years won’t be accepted as the main required travel document.
  • The passport should contain at least two blank pages.
  • One visa form (photocopy is allowed) which should be filled only in capital letters.
  • One recent passport size colored photograph (35 x 45 mm in width) with white background, close up of applicant’s head and top of his / her shoulders, so that the face takes up 70 - 80% of the photograph. Photograph should be clicked with a digital camera with high quality colour and must be printed on photo-quality paper. Photograph should not be older than 6 months. The photograph should be pasted on the application form, not stapled.
  • Confirmed onward / return air ticket (along with the photocopy of the same).
  • Documentary proof of hotel reservations in the country.
  • Onward Visa (if any)
  • Proof of enough funds to survive in the country.
  • Once issued, the Visa remains valid for two months with maximum stay of 15 days permitted.
All travelers need Travel Insurance of Euros 30,000 for duration of stay in all Schengen states. The insurance must be valid for another 15 days from the date of return to India from Schengen State. Some of the Indian Travel Insurance Companies which provide Travel Medical Insurance for Schengen Visa are:

Business Visa

  • In addition, a Letter of Invitation from the Business Associate/ s in Poland need to be faxed directly to the Embassy.
  • Bank statement of the last six months.
  • Income Tax returns statements of past three years.
  • Confirmed onward / return air ticket (along with the photocopy of the same).
  • Documentary proof of hotel reservations in the country.

All travelers need Travel Insurance of Euros 30,000 for duration of stay in all Schengen states. The insurance must be valid for another 15 days from the date of return to India from Schengen State.   • Applicants are advised to attach the appointment approval copy, taken on the net for the visa submission. It is kind of mandatory thing.
  • The visa processing time is from 7 to 10 working days.

  • Visa application form should be enclosed with Covering Letter from the Indian Shipping Company mentioning the purpose of the visit.
  • Indian Seamen traveling on duty must carry a Letter of Guarantee from the Shipping Company with Seamen book.
  • A fax message from the Shipping Agent in Poland must be sent to the Embassy giving particulars of the Seamen, the date and port of joining the Ship.
  • After issuance, the Visa remains valid for two months providing a maximum stay of 15 days.

Work Permit Visa

All applicants are requested to visit //secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl/Default.aspxto fill and submit their visa applications online before presenting a signed copy of the same.


  • The Employer in Poland needs to apply for a Work Promise to the Local Labour Office. Once processed, the original copy is sent directly to the Applicant in order to apply for the Work Permit.
  • The Applicant’s passport should be valid for at least 1 year from the date of application for the visa (along with the photocopy). Passports with validity over 10 years will not be accepted as the main required travel document.
  • The application should be submitted with a Covering Letter from the Applicant mentioning the nature and the tentative duration of the employment which is to be undertaken in Poland.
  • One visa form (photocopy is allowed) which should be filled only in capital letters.
  • One recent passport size colored photograph (35 x 45 mm in width) with white background, close up of applicant’s head and top of his / her shoulders, so that the face takes up 70 - 80% of the photograph.
