ClimateClimate: Weather of the country varies as per the altitude. In the coastal areas and lowlands, it is hot and steamy with high humidity, though the central plateau is warm even in winter. The weather of the inland highlands is generally soothing but sharply changes between day and night. The cold lands (tierra fr­a) are situated above 2000 meters (6600ft). In fact, rainfall also varies here from region to region. Few of destinations receive significant amount of rain throughout the year but the wet season runs between June and September. Many areas witness rainless seasons, while the northern and central areas of the central plateau are dry.

Tourist Visa

1. Valid Visa holders of the USA (any nationality) don't require the visa for entering into Mexico with tourist, transit and business purposes only 2. Legal Permanent Residents of USA, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom and Schengen States also don't require any visa to enter into Mexico with tourist, transit and business purposes 3. Holders of Diplomatic or Official Indian passports also don't require a visa for entering into Mexico for 90 days 4. Official/Clergy of Religious organization need former authorization approved by the Immigration Authority of Mexico (Instituto Nacional de Migración, INM) 5. Applicant has to be present for biometric process and interview 6. The Embassy of Mexico does not accept denomination of Rs. 500 and 1000 as consular fee
  • If Passengers transit in the airport for less than 12 hours and don't leave the airport, they don't require any Visa. Otherwise a visa is required.
  • The Applicant must have a valid passport with validity of minimum 6 months from the date of application with two blank pages facing each other
  • One visa form (photocopy allowed) printed back to back and accordingly filled and signed by the Applicant
  • A migration form with the thumb impression of the traveler given at the Embassy
  • One passport-size photograph(4.5 x 3.5 cm) with white background without glasses
  • Confirm return flight ticket
  • Visa of final destination
  • Visa of the countries to be visited or transited post & pre stay in Mexico

Seamen Visa

1. Applicant has to be present for biometric process and interview 2. The Embassy of Mexico does not accept denomination of Rs. 500 and 1000 as consular fee
  • The Applicant must have a valid passport with validity of minimum 6 months from the date of application with two blank pages facing each other
  • One visa form (photocopy allowed) printed back to back and accordingly filled and signed by the Applicant
  • Present Continuous Discharge Certificate/ updated Seamen's Book is needed.
  • A copy of the Contract signed by the Applicant with both the Shipping companies involved in the enrolment of the Seaman or crew member.
  • A copy of the legal registration of the Company with appropriate Authorities of the country
  • A support letter of from the concerned Mexican Shipping Company should be faxed directly to the Embassy taking complete liability of the Applicant in the ship
  • Written proof of an established contact with Mexican Shipping Companies for the exact reason in the Contract with the Shipping Company
  • A copy of registration of the Company with the right authorities of country and membership of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, if any
  • A copy of the financial bank statements of the company along with other financial solvency
  • Visa validity and stay permit are similar to the transit visa
  • Visa can be issued in 2 working days after done with all the formalities

Work Permit Visa

The Embassy of Mexico in India is not certified to issue a work permit visa without the authorization of the National Migration Institute (INM). The employer has to apply for a working permit in any office of the INM (www.inm.gob.mx) in Mexico.


Student Visa

1. Applicant has to be present for biometric process and interview 2. The Embassy of Mexico does not accept denomination of Rs. 500 and 1000 as consular fee
  • To acquire a student visa the applicant has to contact the concerned educational institute and inform them to approach to "Instituto Nacional de Migración" and apply for "PERMISO DE INTERNACION".
  • The following documents have to be presented by the applicant at this Consular Section once he/she gets the approval from Mexico:
  • The Applicant must have a valid passport with validity of minimum 6 months from the date of application with two blank pages facing each other
  • One visa form (photocopy allowed) printed back to back and accordingly filled and signed by the Applicant
