Note: It should be noted that the Embassy designated for Indians is in London, UK. However, the Honorary Consular in New Delhi can now accept passports from travelers only if they have the Approval from the Department of Citizenship and Immigration in Riga. The Sponsor, who is inviting the traveler need to apply for the same and will get an invitation number, which later grant the visa. (Travelers / applicant should check this rule before sending the client to the Consulate)
The applicant needs to fill the visa application (in person) at the New Delhi Consulate. The application need to mention specific dates with and should be attached with a matching air ticket. The support documents needed to be attached with the application includes air ticket, the insurance, and an Affidavit on a judicial paper of INR 10. The document is then, sent to London for visa stamping. The process can take from 15 to 20 days. The visa fee is over INR 10,000.
In order to avoid the above processes, the traveler / applicant may ask for his visa in London and can have it stamped en-route. This will reduce the task of sending of the passport to London and getting it back. The visa can directly be applied in Moscow & Stockholm as well.
