Climate: Eritrea enjoys summer during the months of April-August and can be hot with mercury rising up to 40°C (104 °F) on the western plateau. Though, temperatures rarely drop below 18°C (64 °F) along the coast but winters (during the months of December-February) in the central and western plateau regions can be chilly with dramatic temperature differences between day and night. The rainy season is short which usually occurs between March-April and a longer one, from late June to the beginning of September.

Tourist Visa

The Applicant should have a passport with validity for at least 6 months ahead of the duration of intended stay in Eritrea.
- One duly filled visa application form (photocopy allowed).
- Two latest passport-size photographs (one must note that scanned photographs will not be accepted.
- Applicant should submit a covering letter mentioning the purpose of visit.
- Applicant should also attach a proof of accommodation in Eritrea (hotel confirmation) or a sponsorship Letter from the relatives / friends living there.
- Bank statement for the past 6 months should also be submitted along with the application form.
- Income Tax Returns for the past 3 years should also be submitted with the application form.
- Return confirmed air ticket.
- Visa remains valid for 30 days from the date of entry to Eritrea.
- The visa processing time is 10 working days.
One must note that Visa fee has to be paid in the form of a bank draft, drawn in favor of "The Embassy of Eritrea", New Delhi.
