  • Customers under this offer will get 100% refunds on train ticket fares which is displayed on the class of listing page with EaseMyTrip's free cancellation policy. Here are the steps to claim your full refunds on train bookings:
  • Here're the steps to claim your full refunds on train bookings.
    • Choose Free Cancellation Option while making train bookings on EaseMyTrip.
    • Cancel your ticket within the free cancellation window (11 hours prior to departure or chart prepared, whichever is earlier).
    • Now get your full refund on train bookings which has been credited to the original source. (Money will reflect in the account of the user as per PG TAT).
  • No documentation is required for availing the refund amount on the train cancellation. 
  • The refund claim will be processed once you meet the following conditions:
    • The ticket should be canceled 11 hours before the scheduled departure time.
    • Or, the ticket should be canceled prior to the chart preparation time, whichever is earlier.
  • The refund amount will include Ticket fares only.
    • Customer payment at the time of booking: Ticket fare + Agent Service charges + IRCTC convenience fee + PG charges + Free cancellation charge + IRCTC travel insurance + GST
    • Refund (in case of Free cancellation claimed): Ticket fare
  • The ticket fare refund will instantly initiate from EMT's end, once we receive the cancellation confirmation from the IRCTC itself.
  • Examples :
    Instance 1 :In case the chart is prepared exactly 10 hours before departure time.
    • Ticket Details: Fare INR 1500, Booking Time: 15th Jan 2026 10:00.
    • Departure Time: 20th Jan 2026 20:00.
    • Chart Preparation Time: 20th Jan 2026 10:00 (10 hours prior).
    • Condition: The cancellation policy is "11 hours prior" (which is 09:00) vs "Chart Preparation" (which is 10:00).
    • Result: Since 09:00 (11 hours prior) is earlier than 10:00, the deadline is 09:00.
    • So, if you cancel your train ticket before 09:00 on 20th Jan 2026, then you're eligible for a full user refund of INR 1500. However, if you cancel the ticket after 09:00 am on 20th Jan 2026, then you're eligible for the partial refund as mentioned in the IRCTC cancellation policy.
    Instance 2 : In case the chart is prepared earlier than the 11-hour window (e.g., Morning trains or early chart release).
    • Ticket Details: Fare INR 1500, Booking Time: 15th Jan 2026 10:00.
    • Departure Time: 20th Jan 2026 20:00.
    • Chart Preparation Time: 20th Jan 2026 08:00 (12 hours prior).
    • Condition: Chart preparation (08:00) is earlier than the 11-hour window (09:00). Since the policy is "whichever is earlier," the deadline becomes the chart preparation time.
    • So, if you cancel your train ticket before 08:00 on 20th Jan 2026, then you're eligible for a full user refund of INR 1500. However, if you cancel your ticket after 08:00 on 20th Jan 2026, then you're eligible for the partial refund as mentioned in the IRCTC cancellation policy.
  • This policy is valid on selected train bookings only made via EaseMyTrip. EMT doesn't provide free cancellation on Tatkal tickets.
  • First Reservation Chart preparation is as follows:

    • For trains departing between 05:01 hours and 14:00 hours: The first reservation chart will be prepared by 20:00 hours (8:00 PM) on the previous day.

    • For trains departing between 14:01 hours and 05:00 hours: (Covering the slots 14:01–23:59 and 00:00–05:00) The first reservation chart will be prepared at least 10 hours in advance of the departure time.

Q. What's Free Cancellation Policy?
Under this EaseMyTrip policy, you can cancel your train ticket and get a full ticket fare refund instantly. In case of cancellation made up to 11 hours prior to scheduled departure or before the chart preparation, then you're eligible for the full ticket fare refund.
Q. What's the eligibility criteria for Free Cancellation on Train Bookings?
Any exciting or new users on the platform can avail for free Cancellation while making online train bookings.
Q. Can I get a full refund, if I cancel only 1 ticket from multiple tickets?
Absolutely yes! You can avail for full refund on the one ticket for which you have initiated cancellation, as per the free Cancellation policy.
Q. Will I Get Refund on Convenience Fee?
Actually No! You can avail the refund on the available ticket fare price only. Any other charges like Convenience Fee, Free Cancellation Premium etc. are not available for users.
Q. Can I do journey modifications under Free Cancellation Policy?
As of now, the free cancellation offer does not provide a journey modification option. However, you can cancel the train tickets and avail the benefits of this policy and make online train bookings again for a desired journey.
