Very fun and educational. Great food and good information about Vienna. Peter is extremely knowledgable. I am so glad I did this tour on the first day because the tour covers many popular sites and gives a great idea of what to see in Vienna based on your interests. One suggestion for the tour operators. My iPhone sent me to the wrong location based on the meet-up address given. Perhaps you could add the name of a business close-by in addition to an address to make the meet-up easier.

Terrific intro into Vienna

Great way to learn about the city, as well as see the sights. Definitely do not eat before the tour, or you will be stuffed by the end. We tried lots of great food, took the metro (subway) around town and got great recommendations for future meals. Highly recommend.

Don’t Hesitate- Just Do It

Nothing is nothing to say that hasn’t been said better already. The price may seem high and you may be hesitating, but don’t- you cant lose. Fantastic high-quality tour with much variety- beer, wine spritzes, boiled beef, ice cream, fresh cherries, bread pudding, kasekreiner, apple sauce w horseradish, bratwurst, more ice cream, pork belly, coffe, more beer, cheesecake…. Wow. Great guide. Superlative. Thanks Wolfie!!!

Wonderful Vienna food tour

Christopher was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. The food was outstanding and it was fun seeing the different areas of the city. He knows the special places and we had local cuisine at each location. I would highly recommend this tour but don’t eat for a couple days!!

Cristof was a great guide he was well organized and professional. Took us through many different places while providing history of the areas. He also took photos to share with everyone. He even sends a follow up email with more recommendations around the areas you are staying.

This should be your first tour in Vienna!

Peter was the BEST tour guide and I wish he could be my guide on all my tours. He had some much great information about Vienna and took us to many great places that I could say I would have not thought of going to. This tour was well worth the amount of money we paid and we got A LOT of food. Would highly recommend this tour.

Lots of Viennese food!

Maria made our excursion interesting by telling us how the food is prepared and history of the area. She is a very gracious hostess and made sure each person was comfortable. The food was delicious and Tomas in the food market was a true showman! First rate!

A wonderful way to spend a day in Vienna

What a wonderful way to spend a day in Vienna! We got to learn so much from Peter, our guide, about history, culture, and of course food and drink! One of the best food tours I have been on. I got to try things I never would have known about and everything was really delicious.

Absolutely wonderful way to spend a day in Vienna

This tour was a wonderful way to spend a day in Vienna. Wonderful company, such interesting information, and of course the best food and drinks. Peter was such a delight, a wealth of information and with such enthusiasm for Vienna, history, and eating. He was so considerate and a lovely host. I feel like I got to know Vienna in my short time in the city through this tour. Come hungry and do not be in a rush as it is a long day, but worth every step, sip, and bite!

Delicious!

Food tours are my favorite things to do while traveling, and this one did not disappoint! We ended up with a private tour based on how the group was split, which was a nice surprise. Unlike other food tours I have done that are essentially walking tours, this tour took us to several different districts. The added benefit was getting to experience the public transit system (note: you will need to buy a day pass as that is not included), as well as see sides of Vienna we likely would not visit as tourists. I did not have a single bad thing to eat the entire tour - and was so stuffed at the end, I was in a food coma! The Tichy ice cream dumpling is one of the best things I have eaten - the tour was worth it for this alone! We had some food restrictions with members of our group and our guide was diligent about making sure everything he ordered met those requirements. Overall, this was a great tour and I would definitely recommend doing this one if you are in Vienna!

Amazing!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience. Our guide was amazing and all of the food we had was delicious. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Vienna.

We have gone to food tours all over Europe and South America and this tour was the absolute best we have ever been on. You get to try endless cuisines and see multiple neighborhoods. The curation of the tour was perfection. I will forever dream of the Viennese coffee shop we visited and will be back again someday for sure! Wolfie was an amazing tour guide!! We adore him and his passion for Vienna! Thank you!

Authentic experience

Christoph was a fabulous guide—very informative and knowledgeable. We got to see the city center as well as surrounding districts. We all felt like we had an authentic experience with local restaurants instead of tourist spots.

Probably the best food tour I’ve ever done!

I’ve done food tours in every city I visit. This has been the best. The food was exceptional, but even better was our guide, Wolfi, and the group! We all clicked and had such a superb time together. I am pescatarian, so on food tours that dietary restriction is often overlooked, but on this one, it was clear that Wolfi went above and beyond to communicate with the restaurants and vendors beforehand, including me in all tastings. This included a vegetarian sausage and lentil Gulash in Vienna! Wow! Everything was incredible. Well worth every penny. Such an amazing time. The pace was also perfect. We were stuffed after the tour! Thanks, Wolfi! You’re a star!

Spectacular food authentic to the place. Great learning experience with transit .

Food tour with Wolfgang

Wolfe wanted to make sure you had the best experience possible. We tasted so many types of food, he gave us a history on some of the treats and how they meld into Austrian society. Bring your appetite!

Eat good food. Meet good people.

This was a great walking food tour with authentic Austrian food. There was a lot of food and it was all delicious. The walking and public transport rides allowed time for the food to digest before the next stop. Christoph was my guide and he was so nice and informative and funny! I recommend this on your first day in Vienna so you can learn the metro and get some great recommendations for the rest of your trip.

Wonderful Tour

Maria was an amazing tour guide. She explained not only everything we ate and drank, which was A LOT, but also a lot of history about Vienna. The tour was great, and I highly recommend it but come hungry!

Terrific food tour

We had Christoph as our amazing guide. It was so much fun to try so many amazing foods in different neighborhoods with a nice small group. Christoph is an encyclopedia of information, and very entertaining. We walked took the train and the street car, which enabled us to see many different neighborhoods. It was really a wonderful day. Food was really special too!

Absolutely Fantastic

This food tour is an absolutely fantastic experience. It takes you all over the city and also shows you how to use the public transit system in case you haven't already used it. The food tour itself is so good and everything is so delicious. I've been on plenty of food tours and up until this point I've never had to say there's too much food. You get a sampling of everything - breakfast, pastries, wine, beer, lunch, dessert and everything is so fresh. The highlight of the tour is Thomas's food stall. He is such an incredibly bubbly personality and the food is incredible, he will keep insisting you have seconds and with how good everything is it's hard to say no. The host Maria is an absolute gem as well, incredibly knowledgeable about everything and she goes out of her way to make sure you're having a good time. I can't say enough positive things about it, 10/10 absolutely recommend you do this during your stay.

Eating our way thru Vienna

Maria was an amazing guide. We had so much fun and learned alot about the different foods. The highlight was visiting Tomas’s food stall in the 16th district. I would go back there anytime. We had so much more than we expected. I highly recommend this tour

Amazing food tour!

This was the most amazing food tour with great attention to detail. We were shuffled into small groups and took a tour of the city which involved walking and transport. We ate in a variety of locations and sampled the delicious Viennese food starting with coffee and ending with street food at a market. In between we toured and learned about the city. Our guide Peter was absolutely superb. We didn’t want it to end!

A must do on your first day in Vienna

Great food tour with Christoph - absolutely highly recommend it, especially on your first day in Vienna. Just be aware: lots of food!!! Don't eat breakfast before this tour, you will be fed plenty. One thing that we liked besides the great food was that we got to learn how to use the public transportation system. In order to visit the many unique restaurants we had to use the subway, surface train, and the bus - we really appreciate the fact that the guide showed us and explained to us how things work. 5 stars all the way!!

Great tour!

We enjoyed the food tour very much. There was a great selection of food and it was all delicious. It was fun seeing various districts in Vienna during the tour. Maria was a wonderful guide who explained a lot about Vienna and its customs/culture. Highly recommend!

This food tour nails it

We had read reviews here attesting to how wonderful of a tour this is, and we can only chime in with more accolades. There was about twice as much food as we expected--all of it exceptional, some unforgettable like the otherworldly Eis-Marillen-Knodel with apricot center only found at Tichy. The coverage of dishes and drinks is amazingly comprehensive for a single outing. And we loved how our guide Marianne took us to two different markets where we saw no other tourists so we could mingle with a variety of Viennese of different social classes and origins moving about, sometimes shouting, and buying wonderful fresh food. Marianne was an exceptional guide who gave us the insider viewpoint of a native Viennese. We felt very comfortable asking her questions. It was also enjoyable seeing her conversing in German with some of the good folks serving us, especially the affable Thomas who from the counter of his food booth wanted us to know all about his special way of preparing goulash, the vitamin C benefits of horseradish, and as we dug into dish after dish he brought us, he kept asking, "Is it a little good? Is it a little good?" Yes, Thomas, if "little" in Austria means "extremely", it was a little good!

Full of food, fun and adventure.

Lots of food, information about the people and districts of Vienna and interaction with interesting people from around the world. Maria was a delight. Fun and informative. Great way to experience a city beyond the normal tourist destinations.

Highly recommended

Peter was an amazing tour guide. He added a lot of history to the tour which added to the experience. There was plenty of food. We didn't eat anything else the whole day!

What, more sweets?

The tour was easy to find, right by the flagship wine store. Groups were divided to allow for individual attention, and we had plenty by Varina, who has lived all over the world but had a great depth of Viennese knowledge. The first stop was a classic coffee cafe with apfelstruedel, second stop was a local ice cream shop, then a light apricot filled donut that wins awards yearly, experienced a local market, a broth soup with local 'Budweiser' - seriously, its much better than the American counterpart - sausages and last but not least, goulash! Was very worthwhile, only suggestions would be to be specific on the website about when the tour ends (hard to make plans afterwards if don't know end time). Also was seriously hoping we would be able to experience sachertorte since it IS what Vienna is famous for but no luck. Maybe next time when we visit,

so many fun foods, such a great experience

We had Maria as our guide and she was wonderful. She was so friendly and engaging, very knowledgeable about the different foods and history of Vienna. As others noted, it is A TON of food - come starving and leave stuffed. We had made dinner reservations and kept them solely because it was our last night in Vienna, but we definitely would have been fine without dinner. I was a bit concerned about the "moderate physical activity" level of this outing, as my mom has some issues with her hip. She was perfectly able to keep up. There is a fair amount of walking, but you also sit and relax at each stop, plus you take public transit. I would definitely recommend doing this tour earlier in your trip, because it'll help familiarize you with Vienna's very simple transit system right off the bat. We did not do that, and that is the only thing I would have changed!

Great introduction to Vienna

A great way to get to know Vienna and the transport system too. We certainly experienced places we would never have found on our own. Thank you Maria! Definitely recommend but please do not have Breakfast before this trip - so much food to taste!

The Best Way to Spend 6 Hours

The best thing we did in Vienna! Wolfgang was a great tour guide with tons of information and recommendations for a variety of local experiences. We went all over town and experienced some of the non-touristy traditional areas and cuisines. Also - it is a 5-6 hour tour, but the public transit is highly utilized.

You ain’t going to starve

Wow, what a tour. Not only we got out of the center city which allowed us to explore places that I would never go on my own, but also we experienced amazing food throughout. We ain’t going to starve, you will eat a looooooot … as other said: don’t even have breakfast cause you will eat more than enough.

Soo much food and fun

The guide Peter was lovely and gave a lot of wonderful information while leading a well paced tour. The amount of food was astronomical and you do not need to plan any meals or snack on this day. It will do a disservice to the whole experience.Know that the tour with Peter will run long so do not plan another tour tour unless it is late evening

DON'T MISS THIS TOUR!

Had the MOST WONDERFUL time on this tour with Peter. He gave us so much information about Vienna, from its history to how to use the transportation system, best restaurants, etc. and the food, THE FOOD! We have been on many, many food tours in many different countries and we have never had this much food on a tour. Think breakfast, lunch and dinner. We even cancelled our dinner reservations because we were given so much food on the tour. Coffee, Strudel, ham, ice cream, sausage, goulash, schnitzel, potato salad, beef with an Austrian broth, kaiser schmarm, meatloaf, beer and wine. Saw major sites and got all our questions answered from a true Austrian. DON'T MISS THIS TOUR!

Best food tour

We have done several food tours in Europe and the US. This was the best one we have been on hands down. Maria was such a good ambassador for Vienna, friendly, knowledgeable and funny. She taught us about the importance of the coffee culture and it's history while we enjoyed coffees and sweet and savory treats. We learned about the different districts and their personalities by visiting them using the transit system. The food at every stop was fantastic. I think the highlight of the tour for our entire group was Michael's food stand. We had three different kinds of sausage with three different mustards and freshly grated horseradish accompanied by the beverage of our choice. His goulash was out of this world, and we finished with a Viennese version of bread pudding. Don't be put off by the length of the tour, the tastings are spaced out but you definitely won't go hungry!

A wonderful culinary exploration of Vienna

My wife and I had such a wonderful time experiencing Vienna through its delightful food scene, from a traditional coffee shop to a market bar to a street food vendor. The food was incredible across the board and the guide will make sure you don’t leave hungry. Our guide was friendly, full of knowledge, and taught us so much about his home of Vienna. I cannot recommend this experience enough!

5* food tour

Whole experience was really good. Maria was excellent, changing the plan due to preferences of the group and accommodating allergies. Highlight stop was the market street food with Thomas with particularly good goulash and pork belly. Definitely would recommend!

Come hungry! Best tour we’ve ever taken.

We only had one day in Vienna - and we are so grateful we spent it on this tour! We became truly submerged in Viennese culture, off the beaten path and away from tourist areas. Not only was the food fantastic, but our guide Maria provided us with amazing facts and history about the city. Come hungry! Cannot say enough about this tour.

A Wonderful Time with Christoph

Just a wonderful tour with Christoph. The food and drinks were fantastic and Christoph was entertaining and interesting throughout. We enjoyed every moment (and bite). This tour was a perfect offset to the days of seeing solely touristy sights. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Fantastic

The best food tour we have been on. We were taken out of the centre to local places. We got to taste and visit places we would of walked past. Lots of great food, coffee and drink. A nice mixture of street and restaurant eating. Excellent location knowledge from our host Christoph

Fabulous food tour

This was an absolutely fabulous tour! Christophe took us to places outside the center which we would never have gone to on our won. All the while he told us stories and led us to places that only a local would know. The food was amazing - do not eat before and you won't want to eat after!!
