Our group of 6 loved our 5 hour private tour of Vienna with Natalie. She was very knowledgeable about Vienna history but also gave us first hand insight into living in the city regarding parking, schools, buying groceries, paying bills, raising children and being a citizen of Vienna.

A lovely tour

They were punctual, informative and friendly. I really enjoyed my tour. Cornelia, my guide, was well versed in Vienna's history. She was funny, personable and a pleasure to interact with.

Great Experience

Saw some places not seen on regular tours. Specially last super mosaic painting. And other interesting points.

Booked 5 hour tour got 3 hour tour

Whilst our guide was really good we had booked this through Viator as a 5 hour tour. However, it turned out our guide was only given instructions to give us a 3 hour tour and this simply was not enough time to explore Vienna as we wished. To add insult to injury Viator initially turned down a partial refund of 40%. They then offered a measly 10% refund!!! Simply unacceptable so i shall be making a full refund claim via my credit card company.

Phenomenal tour!

We really enjoyed our city tour in Vienna. Ana was very informative about all aspects of Vienna, the history, architecture, historical figures…she was amazing! Most importantly, she was very supportive of my travel partner’s medical issues. It was a memorable experience!

Great driver and guide - terrible car for older adults - not the promised car

Great guide and driver. Was supposed to be a Mercedes Van, but was small Mercedes car that was very difficult to get in and out of. Impossible to get in touch with Viator to complain afterwards and ask for partial refund.

Fantastic full day tour!

Fun, personable and knowledgeable guide. Our family spent a wonderful full day in Vienna with Jan. Easy to understand and easy to coordinate with. Well planned itinerary and great quick food stops. Comfortable pace and balanced the full day together! Highly recommend!

The best tour to know Vienna in one day

Max and Howard (I hope I'm writing his name correct) were fantastic, we got able to see Vienna and the surroundings in day, very friendly and enjoyable treatment while lots of history and knowledge of Vienna and the best places to visit, we had great time and enjoyed lots of laughs along the day.

Private tour with Horst enhanced our entire visit

We spent 2.5 hours on New Years Eve (12/31/22) with Horst as our guide for a private waking tour for myself, my husband and our 2 adult children. He picked us up at our hotel and we spent a few moments getting to know each other. Him us and us him. We were visiting Vienna to as part of our Holocaust Refugee Reparation citizenship. We came to reconnect with our heritage and he made sure to take us to the Jewish Square and allowed us time to reflect there. The tour itself was perfect. Horst, was not only a knowledgeable guide but he was fired my, funny, and engaging. He also pointed out the big sites and the smaller out do the way ones. He told stories from history but also about how people in Vienna live- cafe culture, apartment living, etc… I could write for pages about what a great job he did. We saw everything! And we saw it all through the eyes of someone who loves to share the history and city with others. We felt his love of his city but also he made us feel welcome as visitors. Yes, learned our names and things about us to incorporate it into the tour, but he also shared the information in a way that felt natural. Most importantly he was more than happy to take us to a few special places by request such as the exact location of the apartment where my grandmother lived. He also gave us recommendations on where to eat and showed us where our restaurant that night was and the next night. We finished the tour as the city’s New Years Eve activities were beginning right in the main square. We then returned to that location at midnight on our own. I would highly recommend Horst.

Fabulous time with Viator and Lisa

Lisa was such a positive and passionate tour guide. She was extremely flexible and gave us a marvelous experience of history, Christmas Markets and Vienna overall. We covered a lot of ground and definitely gave us value for our cost. Our driver was fantastic as well. We didn’t realize we didn’t have the driver the entire time, but we should have read the tour info closer.

Vienna in 5 hours!

We had an excellent time visiting historical sites and learning about their significance! The guide was a pleasure! We enjoyed our visit and look forward to the next visit!!

Awesome experience

Alan was an awesome tour guide and showed and explained every detail of the city that we never would have thought of. He even took us to have some authentic food and showed us how to use the public transportation so we would be able to easily access all of vienna during the rest of our trip. Thank you Alan!!!

Great Vienna Experience

We had a wonderful Vienna experience with out guide Jan and out driver Said. The tour was interesting, informative and fun for us all. I would highly recommend the tour and especially our guide Jan who was exceptional.

Not value for money

It is useless to take car for this price. Not at all worth it. But my guide was the best!! He does know a lot and if he doesn’t he will get the answers for you! Kaspar… thank you for a great experience! Shan

Amazing tour — highly recommended!

Absolutely outstanding tour of Vienna! Hernando Montoya spent five hours with us - 3 hours touring by car and 2 hours by foot walking through the city center. It was a perfect day and we benefited from Hernando’s deep knowledge. He did a great job of customizing the tour to our needs and interests. Highly recommended!

Great morning in Vienna

We had Horst and he was animated and wonderful to spend the 3 hours with. Learned a lot and saw a lot! We were 2 seniors and 4 adults and it was seamless for all ages.

Very educational tour with a great guide

Our guide Ana had a wealth of knowledge about Vienna and was able to show us the side of the city's history that we wouldn't even know to look for! Very courteous and careful driver Cylvio made the tour even more enjoyable

Money well spend.

Ana and Sylvia was very experienced and knowledgeable tour guides. They were perfect guide for our group. They went out of their way to show some of the most amazing sites.. They both made our trip unique and memorable. We had a great experience and I highly recommend this tour.

Amazing tour + Exceptional Guide (You da' man, Jan)

We had Ian as a city guide. He was simply the best. And I've had tours in 110+ countries. He was incredibly knowledgeable, super fun & funny, great personality and more. The tour ended up lasting almost 8 hours. It included off the beaten track and famous Vienna attractions. Plus a tremendous amount of additional recommendations that made us wish we had extra time in Vienna. We only wish we had more cash for an even more generous tip. Really, I mean it - he was the best.

Top rated guide and experience

Our guide Hernando Montoya was an excellent guide. He adapted the tour very quickly to our individual needs. We wanted a fast pace informative highlight tour of Vienna. He was very knowledgeable and engaging. Hernando also gave us several recommendations like thing to follow up with the next day and restaurants and those recommendations were excellent as well.

Great overview of Vienna

This tour was great for getting an overview of Vienna and its history. Our guide was very knowledgeable and tailored the tour to our interests. This us the perfect first day tour to then use as a catalyst to see sites in more detail. I definitely strongly recommend this tour.

Best Tour we've experienced during three different cities.

Absolutely the best tour of our two week European family vacation. Hernando is fun, engaging, knowledgeable and just the perfect guide. We shifted to this tour when a heat wave came through Vienna-- his Mercedes van was cool and comfortable. We spent five hours driving to amazing sights and getting a real feel for the city then Hernando adjusted the two hour walk to allow visits to key museums to keep us out of the heat. He is a certified tour guide and American ex-pat who made the day a great event for my family that included an 18yr old son and 16yr old daughter. You can't go wrong having a tour with Hernando!

Amazing tour. Highly recommended

Our tour guide Hernando was amazing for the full five hours of the tour, keeping us informed and entertained, as well as adapting the tour to our interests. The first part of the tour involved driving around the beautiful city of Vienna, stopping at multiple locations and giving us a really good flavour of what Vienna has to offer. The second part was a walking tour through the beautiful central part of the city, seeing up close the wonderful architecture and rich history. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Vienna.

Highly recommend

Our tour guide Hernando was great! We were a family of 7 ranging from ages 13-70 and he kept all of us engaged. We toured the Schönbrunn Palace, had a driving tour of other sites in Vienna, had lunch in a local restaurant and a 2 hour walking tour. It was a rainy day so our itinerary was adjusted for weather and we did not visit Grinzig. Our tour ended at a local Christmas market. Hernando was friendly, knowledgeable and a wonderful guide and the car and driver were also nice. I highly recommend this tour for a mix of walking and sitting and seeing quite a bit of Vienna in a short amount of time.

Great overview of Vienna

Upon arrival to Vienna we organised a city highlights tour to see the city and to glean an overview of what we should see during our time there. Franz our guide was very nice and hugely informative. As the weather was pretty awful was also great to have a nice warm and dry car to move around in!

Introdection to Vienna.

We had a half day motor tour of Vienna with a driver/tour guide. This enabled us to discover the places that we would like to visit more thouroughly.

Excellent Overview of Vienna

We had a private tour for about 20 people attending a conference in Vienna. Ana was an excellent guide - knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about her city! She took us to see the highlights of the center of the city. We were able to arrange pick-up at a convenient location and all communication was clear prior to the tour. Highly recommend!

Vienna the city of Music and Musicians

Beautiful Vienna in beautiful Austria .. the old square with St stephan s cathedral .. the Opera house , Hofburg palace with its imperial treasury . Schoborn Palace with its memories of SiSi .. the Museum square , the parliament house all are awesome .

Vienna Walking Tour and Cycling Tours

We did both of these tours and really enjoyed both and would recommend to others. Our guides Alex and Peter were excellent - very knowledgeable, insightful and friendly. Thanks guys for a great tour!

Looks pricey at first, but well worth it, and highly memorable

Only at the start (in our hotel lobby) did my wife and I realise that we had our guide all to ourselves. There was a great deal of give-and-take whereby we could indicate preferences. Our guide (Christine) was a mature gentle-woman of high intelligence and level of education. Her English is perfect and virtually unaccented. We started with a 3-hour stop and drop-off tour of some of the wider-flung highlights in our own Mercedes mini-bus (the driver Marco was also excellent, and very resourceful in finding parking spots!) This was followed by a 2-hour walking tour with Christine.

Wonderful tour

Allen was the overall best guide for our tour through Vienna. He was very knowledgeable, very personable, intelligent and actually was excited about sharing with us his knowledge of Vienna. We loved it!

Our pre-paid and confirmed tour was canceled without notice

Beware of booking this tour through TripAdvisor. I booked a 7-hour tour for 7 people 10 days in advance and received a confirmation of our pre-paid tour. On the morning of the tour, I learned that the tour company had canceled our tour 4 days before due to lack of availability, but I was not notified. It's infuriating that the communication from Vienna Explorers wasn't conveyed through TripAdvisor to me. Further, I had to call TripAdvisor customer support upon returning home to request a refund of my $860 payment, which will take "3-7 (more) days". I'm sorry to have to give such a poor rating here, but I feel that it's important that people know that a confirmed tour isn't necessarily a done deal. You'll find other 1-star reviewers here with the same issue.

Great 5 hour tour

We only had 5 hours in Vienna. Clara Gaisbauer was our guide. She and the driver picked us up at the train station, took us to see all the highlights, and then returned us to the train station so we could continue on to Budapest. Clara was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and interesting. She modified the tour so we could do it at a comfortable pace. Highly recommend her!

As we sat in the coach car for our tour, Ms. Cornellia ask our wishes and things we are keen to see or do. She gave options, and made suggestions. We spent our time very judicously and we could achieve a lot. We saw all the 3 places, Opera from inside with personal tour by Ms. Cornellia our wish, down town, stephan platz church, National library must See from inside. Great way to see Vienna - on bikes, friendly guide

We did the 3 hour private Vienna Bike Tour. Our guide was the jolly & friendly Horst. The bike tour is a great way of seeing the city's famous land-marks. The guide kept us entertained throughout with interesting and funny stories and was very flexible when we asked if we could shelter in a cafe during a short rain shower. Bikes were in good condition. Overall - an excellent start to our weekend in Vienna - thank you Vienna Explorer :)

<p>This was the most amazing day! Our tour guide, Franz, was not only incredibly knowledgeable about Vienna - both past and present - but it was truly wonderful to spend the day with him. It is not always easy to spend all day with a total stranger and feel comfortable, but the day with Franz was exceptional. We went to Belvedere Palace and walked around the grounds, talking about the Vienna skyline and how it has changed, or not, over time. We drove out to Schoenbrunn Palace and did a tour of part of the inside and walked around all of the outside grounds which are huge, with big fountains and little quiet nooks. We had a lovely lunch at a beer garden, then came back to central Vienna and strolled around downtown. Franz took us places that we never would have found on our own, and pointed out interesting aspects of art and architecture. He was perfectly happy to let us customize the tour to our tastes, but since we were Vienna novices, we let him steer us to the places he thought we'd find interesting, and he was spot on. Although we only spent the one day with him, he was with us for the rest of our stay. We'd say remember what Franz said about this or that? It was an exceptional way not only for us to get our bearings, but also to feel like we had seen and learned so much in just one day. I imagine all the Viator guides are skilled, but if you can request Franz, you're sure to have a day to remember. If I could rate this tour with more than 5 stars, I would give it 10!</p>
