Wonderful and Delicious Tour

4 of us had the absolute pleasure of going on a wonderful 6 hour (actually went for 7 hours) private food and history tour. A very long tour I admit, but we had so much fun with Peter - world's best guide - the time flew by. I expected we would visit a couple of coffee cafes and, in accordance with their coffee culture, spend an hour or two at each with a food stop somewhere in between. We did partake of a traditional coffee cafe, but then we did so very much more. Peter has a gift for telling a story, for bringing history alive. He has an actors way of telling the tale which keeps you memerized and entertained. Bravo Peter, and thank you! We ate a LOT of new tasty foods, went to places that locals go and of which tourists are unaware. All the while learning the colorful history of beautiful Vienna. We all left the tour feeling utterly satiated, knowledgeable about Vienna's fascinating history and with a desire to visit Vienna again, physically a little tired but mentally wired, and with an abiding affection for our tour guide Peter. It was a truly and all around wonderful experience.

A terrific experience!

Christoph was an AMAZING tour guide. A fun person to spend the day with, SO knowledgeable, and very attentive to what we liked. This was definitely a highlight of our time in Vienna. He takes pictures and sends a follow up email that includes restaurant recommendations. We can’t thank him enough for a wonderful day. We felt like we got a very authentic food experience in Vienna. He also taught us how to use the public transport system, so this is truly a great tour for one of your first days there!

Excellent foody tour !

Peter shares Vienna's history and gastronomy with passion. Bars and restaurants are very well chosen and we discovered an unexpected quality of food. Quantity is much over than what we use to have in this kind of tours !

What a fabulous first day in Vienna! Peter was an absolute perfect tour guide. His knowledge of history is only surpassed by his clear love for his native Vienna. He took the 2 of us all around the city - walking, on the subway, and on they tram. He introduced us to all the Vienna favorite food and drink. What a charm of a man in a beautiful city with such history and character

We had a great time with...

We had a great time with Wolfgang/Wolfi! Starting with a Viennese breakfast from Cafe Korb, not too far from Stephansplatz; we went over to Reumannplatz, a working class neighborhood, tried fresh fruits at the neighborhood market; grabbed a brilliant Austrian lunch on the way from there; had ice cream knodels along the way at a cute place named Eissalon Tichy (filled with kindergarten kids); visited Brunnenmarkt to try some street food; and wrapped up at a chic coffee place before heading back to base! Wolfi’s experience on the ‘trail’ showed well, and we were greeted with warmth everywhere! It was a truly enjoyable experience. Thanks again Wolfi!

Great tour would definitely recommend.

The variety of the food was excellent. Patrick (our guide) took his time to explain why each stop was made and explained the background of the food. The plentiful amount of food was very surprising. Don't eat breakfast before your tour. The amount of walking was not too strenuous. We really enjoyed and appreciated Patrick. This is a tour I would whole-heartedly encourage people to take. The walk through the market was a sensory delight, with the sounds and smells. The food choices were a very good assortment of Viennese tastes. Patrick interacted well with both teenagers and adults. The culture of Vienna was explained as we walked through the city. Getting to spots that were farther apart we used the Metro system. Patrick explained how the system worked making our own travels around the city the next day much easier.

Great tour, must do!

A must do if you have time. We had the pleasure to have Verena be our guide. She is very knowledgeable and beyond food, also share many of Viennaese custom. Great to understand how locals live and shop. We had a fun few hours with Verena and she had made our Vienna trip a very memorable one.

A Taste of Vienna

Henrietta was a great person to lead our tour. She was very informative and showed us how to eat like a local. We tried a wide variety of foods and drink which gave us the confidence to order for ourselves during our trip. We really liked the fact that we travelled on public transport which was so easy to use. We have enjoyed similar tours in different cities across Europe and have always had a great time; we would definitely recommend the tour to others wanting to capture a flavour of the city they are visiting.

Tour and guide Maria were fantastic

Maria was a fantastic guide! She took us to the best local places to enjoy delicious local meals. We were open to any options and Maria did not disappoint. We would have never found the places she took us to on our own. We would book again and would ask for Maria - strongly recommend her!

Wonderful City Experience

Christof was a wonderful guide. I enjoyed the coffeehaus experience (lots of pastry) and the traditional lunch, but he made a special effort to find poppyseed pastry which is apparently a "home style dessert" not something found in fancy pastry shops. But we found some in the local street market and it was yummy. We also stopped at the Xmas Market in Spittlesburg as it was Advent.

You must do this tour!

Ornella was the perfect guide. We were so lucky to have a private tour with her (they split our group in 2 so our party of 4 was alone). I don't think I would change a thing! From the 3 markets we saw to all the amazing food of Vienna (the dumplings were a highlight for me) but all of the food was amazing. I will for sure recommend Ornella and your tour company to any friends or family visiting Vienna. What a treat!

Great food tour!

Great guide who was knowledgeable and friendly. The pacing was great, and the different experiences and wide variety of local dishes were fantastic! We were with a small group, which made the tour special. I highly recommend it!

Great food tour of Vienna with homework!

This was a great food tour with Verena! She took us to some great places in Vienna and we sampled food while she told us stories about the food, the restaurants, and Vienna. She picked interesting places like Cafe Korb, owned by Susanne Widl, where she made sure we checked out the bathroom doors downstairs. Farmers markets are always interesting to check out in a new city or country and she took us to one where she said all the locals shop and I was shocked how cheap things were there. All the food was good, there was even ice cream swimming in vodka (at 11 in the morning! :-) But we also were shown some other things in Vienna like the amalienbad, Altmann & Kuhne with the miniature chocolates and Zum Schwarzen Kameel, a 400+ year old restaurant Beethoven used to eat at, with mini open faced sandwiches. We didn't eat here on the tour but Verena showed it to us and we went the next day and it was so good. Verena actually left us with quite a number of recommendations of things to see and we hit a few like the Art Museum, the outdoors elevator at MuseumsQuartier, Cafe Museum, etc later in our trip. We just didn't have enough time to hit all the places she gave us for homework though! Verena is very nice and a fantastic tour guide.

See ALL of Vienna, not just the City Center

Take this tour! One of the better food tours I have been on. Not just for the food, but the utilize the Vienna Subway and show you the whole town, not just a single neighborhood.

Great culinary adventure with Christoph and Wolfie

It was very exciting! And it seemed like there was endless amounts of delicious food! Christoph, our tour guide, was wonderful. Our family really likes history so he made sure to incorporate that into our tour. The unique food paired with the great conversation made for an excellent adventure through Vienna. It was wonderful to run into Wolfie on our tour! We would definitely recommend and would do again!

Memorable food trip

In general, being on a private tour makes the experience more personal, instead of following a structured tour, it felt like you have a friend who is showing you around. In particular, Christopf was informative, conscientious and most of all, fun. He made the tour light and he did not make us feel like we're on the clock. Such a gentleman. You have to make the food tour a part of your trip.

Fantastic family experience savoring Vienna

Fantastic family experience in Vienna! Thanks to Wolfy and the team for a great experience. Pre-tour communication were great and everything went smoothly the day of. Our elementary aged children really enjoyed all the food, stories, and special attention they received. Wolfy even found a special workshop opportunity at the Zoom children's museum in Vienna and booked our family in for an afternoon time slot so we finished our tour with an experience selected especially for our children. Thanks for a tasty, filling(!) and fun way to discover Vienna!

Fantastic introduction to Vienna

My wife and I moved to Vienna to work and naturally migrated to all the tourist areas to eat and drink. My son, knowing that this is what I would do bought me this Tour for my birthday....what a present! We were met on the day by 2 guides, Wolfie and Patrick who treated us to an incredible day. We started the Tour at a traditional coffee house in the centre of Vienna. I would possibly not have eaten all the pancake (Kaiserscmarrn) had I known how much more was to come, but I did! We left the centre to start exploring the different districts and the mix of cultures, we had Turkish delight and coffee, Syrian flat bread, Austrian cheeses, we visited a Würstelstand for a beer and sauage and another for goulash. We experienced breads and krapfen.....the list goes on. We visited two vibrant markets with an array of stalls, I mean this Tour covered so much it was incredible! I would say to anyone who plans to visit Vienna to put this Tour at the start of the holiday, as it will show you so much and introduce you to places that as a tourist you would probably never see. They then follow up with an email listing all the places you went to with suggestions of many more. We were lucky to be the very first Tour since Vienna 're-opened' after COVID and it was great, so don't worry that nothing will be open and there won't be anything to see, because there is! I will be going back to these guys when we have family over to experience some of the other Tours thay do because this trip was fantastic....great guys and a great Tour, thanks both!!

WOLFIE IS THE VERY BEST!

Hands down, the best way to see the life of Vienna is with Wolfie. Wolfie took our family of 3 (including our 12 year old daughter) through a very local’s eye view of Vienna and we spent the day truly learning about the food, market and café culture of this amazing city. From an amazing chocolatier, to the very authentic Viennese coffee houses to the most incredible donut we’ve ever tasted, Wolfie led us through the city and helped us see it as a local. We visited incredible markets, ate humble but delicious Syrian street food, had authentic Turkish coffee, stopped for a snack and glass of wine at one of Anthony Bourdain’s favorite specialty cheese and meat shops, ate the most delicious sausages, had a tasting of local Austrian wines and more. Everywhere we went was exceptional and literally everywhere we went - even passing on the street - Wolfie was greeted as a friend with a shout out, a high-five, a handshake, or a hug. Everyone knows Wolfie. It was clear that we were being provided with a true insider’s tour of Vienna and most of the places we visited would have required a lot of local knowledge to even know to look for them. There is more than enough food and its best to come hungry. We ate our heads off! We can’t recommend the tour and Wolfie enough! Love him!

Best way to see Vienna

We had an incredible morning in Vienna with Wolfi! It was the best way to truly get to know the city, the lifestyle of the Viennese and ,of course, taste so many delicious local dishes! I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves food and local culture. Be sure to come hungry as you will get to try so many different dishes and you won’t want to miss a single one. Vienna Urban Adventures did an amazing job arranging the day and when you are with Wolfi or any of the tour guides you will get to truly feel like a local!

Incredible food and fantastic guide

My husband and I took a private food tour with Patrick and had a truly wonderful time. We started with the most delicious Krapfen we had ever had and things only got better from there. Patrick took lots of time to educate us about what and where we were eating and got us to places we never would have found on our own. We took this tour the first day of our week in Vienna so, we knew what sort of culinary direction to go in moving forward and it did not disappoint. Also, remember not to eat or have coffee before the tour, you will leave totally stuffed and caffeinated!

Best. Food. Tour.

I am almost hesitant to share my review as this tour is such a gem. In fact, it is possible that all future food tours have been ruined as a result of this experience. My husband and I booked a private food/coffee/market tour with Wolfie. We had been on small-group dinner tours in the past in Italy and Spain which were good. This was an entirely different experience. This was just remarkable -- a true glimpse into the foodie scene of Vienna. Wolffe was honest, delightful, and well-versed in all things pertaining to Viennese food and Austrian culture. Please note that an obscene amount of food was consumed on this tour. We drank coffee, ate apple strudel/donuts/ice cream, sampled fruits at the market, had most divine sausages and fresh horseradish, tasted the best goulash, experienced turkish coffee, and ended with rich chocolates. I loved that we used the fantastic public transportation system to journey to all different districts. We saw neighborhoods that most tourists do not see, which just added to the richness of Vienna as a city. If you want to truly experience local food culture in Vienna, do yourself a favor and book this tour ASAP! Thanks Wolfie!

Excellent tour, fantastic tour guide!!!

Cannot say enough about Patrick and this tour. First of all DO NOT EAT before going on this tour. The food and drink keeps on coming. Patrick methodically brought us through a variety of food, coffee and drink tastings throughout the Vienna neighborhoods that were sooooo delicious!!! He talked about the history of many of the food establishments we visited and made our last day in Vienna very special. Would highly recommend this tour!

Great coffee and food tour!

Our guide Patrick did a great tour for us, showing many excellent places in the real neighborhoods of Vienna, most of them well away from touristy areas. We sampled many foods from savory to sweet and Patrick’s narrative about foods, coffees and the local area were terrific. Don’t bother eating before this tour, you will be happily full when you finish. Also, much of the travel is by Metro, with a little walking, so it is easy on the feet. We have had food tours before in several cities and this is the best.

Coffee, culture, & camaraderie

Our guide, Kerstin, offered an absolutely amazing tour of Vienna!! She was warm, inviting, and curated a tour of the Vienna cafe life that was the highlight of our trip. All of the stops offered not only amazing food and relevant history, but also allowed us to interact with locals in a very genuine and meaningful way. Kerstin not only enlightened us with knowledge of the food scene in Vienna, she shared her love of the city and gave us tips on sights worth seeing, how to maneuver public transportation, and even recommended other restaurants to visit on our own. Meet-up details were easy; wear comfy shoes and bring a water bottle. Highly recommend!!!

Walking tour with Patrick from Vienna Urban Adventures

We had a great time walking around the city of Vienna. Patrick showed us a lot of the sights and showed us how to use the train and took us to an authentic Vienna neighborhood where we enjoyed the coffee and desserts without all the tourists. We also went to the Nasch market and surrounding areas( opera house, shopping centers) Patrick also explained the history of Vienna to us and showed us a lot of the ins and outs of the city. First stay in Vienna

We would highly recommend this tour as an introduction to Viennese life. Make sure you take the tour on your first day. Kerstin was a fabulous guide giving us a wealth of local information just what we asked for. On a practical level Kerstin gave us the fastrack guide to the districts, use of the metro, how to hire City bikes and a trip to a local winery just outside the city near Kahlenberger dorf. We took her advice throughout our stay and to name a few tips we visited the Cafe Museum, Praterstern Park (on the city bike), enjoyed a Hugo Spritz or two along with the Gelber Muskateller white wine, tried the cafe melange (instead of our usual cappuccino), ice cream with pumpkin oil. Kerstin introduced us to Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancake with a plum sauce). To be fair we couldn’t pack in all what she suggested, we shall just have to come back again!!

The great experience of local pastry tour!

We really want to recommend this tour ! Even though I was going to canceled them because we were having the pastry at the Palace the night before and the taste was really bad ! So we thought we should canceled the tour !! Luckily we didn’t!!! Because the experience we had was wonderful and memorable for us ! We got the chance to see the place that we might not go alone there ! I mean it was not tourist place ,Anyway we got the best guide Patrick ..he met us at the biggest Church St Stevephen in Vienna and he took us by metro to where he used to live and we had the very best pastry👍🍰 we did this tour with 4-5 places but all the sweets are delicious!! YUM and Sweets of course! We had best espresso,tea, and He even tell us all about the market that he used to work and unfortunately they were closed because of Easter holidays anyway we went to the restaurant where he used to work too ! fancy but friendly people ,we bought wine from this place and Thanks to Patrick to help my daughter choose and give us the good price from his friend! So I really recommend if you are looking for something not really tourist place but something where local Vienna do and go to hang out Thanks Patrick 👍

A MUST DO while in Vienna...not your ordinary boring tour!

Wow!!!! We met Patrick. He immediately guided us to the metro where we went to the neighborhood he grew up in...about a 5 minute metro ride. From there we truly experienced what it is like to live like a local in Vienna! We stopped at probably 5-6 different places (coffee shops, street markets, candy stores, restaurants and specialty stores) where we tasted/drank everything! Patrick took pictures along the way as well as recommended several places to eat/see while we were there. Thus is truly a unique experience! This is not your usual tour and I would highly recommend it as well as requesting Patrick! Until next time....cheers!

Amazing food experience!

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves food and is willing to try something different. Patrick was able to provide a great experience, all the food we tried was amazing and so much fun! We went to places that are not visited by other tour groups, and this really made the tour unique and worthwhile. We ate so much food, my friend was full after the first place, but I was able to keep eating! :) The different stops where spaced out so it never felt rushed or overwhelming. (Beware, when he says the sausage is spicy, it is extremely spicy!)I really enjoyed having someone else order the food. Patrick selected flavors and foods, I would never of thought to try but once I did, I was very impressed. Not only was the tour fantastic, but so was our guide. He took multiple pictures through this trip as mementos and after the tour, he sent us a list of suggestions and recommendations. As this was our first day in Vienna, he provided some practical knowledge (like, how to use the subway) which made the rest of our stay easier. We also visited a park he recommended and had a great time there. We choose the private tour because my friend's flight arrived that morning and we were not able to attend the general tour. The private tour was a lot of fun because of the personal attention, but I am sure the general tour is also great. If/when I make it back to Vienna, I would do this tour again, because it was so much fun!

The best start to our holiday

We found this private tour the perfect way to be introduced to this truly cosmopolitan city. Our guide Patrick was fun and friendly, full of useful information about the areas we visited. This is a great way to get off the beaten track, away from the tourist spots and try some of the best food Vienna has to offer.

Make this the first thing you do in Vienna

What a day! One of the best food tours we have been on. Wolfie's energy, passion and insights into the city and its food scene were incredible. The whole day felt very personal. We never would have found all of these great spots to try the different coffees, pastries, local and ethnic foods, experience neighborhood food markets, etc... What a great city...when we get back here we will make sure to arrange another private tour with Wolfie and his team.

This was the highlight of our trip to Vienna

Kerstin was an amazing guide for this tour. She gave us an intimate insight into the breadth of culinary delights in Vienna and at the same time managed to provide us with relevant historical accounts of the area. The food was all delicious and we were absolutely full by the end of the tour! We visited so many parts of Vienna that we simply would have never been fortunate enough to see had it not been for this private tour. We feel we have seen a completely different side to Vienna than the average tourist and it really was the highlight of our 8 day stay in Vienna!

Great tour

The tour guide was Patrick and he was really good. They had lot of good food stops and would definitely recommend doing the tour with them. We did cover a lot of area and he also provided us with lot of recommendations on things to do while we were in town

Great way to experience Vienna with amazing guides!

Wolfgang & Patrick shared a side of Vienna that I don't think we would otherwise see. I always love getting a local's perspective on how people in cities live, work and play. The food we sampled was excellent and loved the Viennese coffeehouse experience for sure!

Great way to get to know Vienna

I can't recommend this tour enough. Wolfy is a great guide and will make you love Vienna. His tour takes you to several neighbourhoods away from the tourist sites and you will taste a wide range of foods that you would never find on your own. I wish there was a tour like this for every city!

Best tour in Vienna - wish I had done it first!

This was our 3rd tour in Vienna during this trip, and our last. We wish it had been our first, as we learned not only about the history of Vienna and saw the typical tourist sights, but also learned and saw much of the local culture and different communities. We took the metro outside of the city center and visited many of the different districts that we otherwise would never have seen. The food tasting was abundant (we were so full we had to take some of it home!) and it was truly the best food we had tried during our entire visit. It was not only many coffee houses, but also breakfast, sausages, multiple desserts, and other local foods! If we would have had this trip at the beginning of our stay, we would have taken much of Wolfie's advice on restaurants and neighborhoods to visit on our own. NEXT TIME FOR SURE! We could have spent 2 more hours with Wolfie - he was knowledgeable and personable - hope to meet him again in Vienna soon!

Really unique - time well spent!

A very informative food tour that will cover more than the basics you probably already knew about. I enjoyed taking public transit and getting to places I wouldn't otherwise go. With only a couple days in Vienna, I did not regret spending half a day on this tour, actually it was one of the highlights of my trip! Also very good value, I didn't have to eat any other meals that day.

Vienna is a New City!

From the beginning, Patrick made us feel like old friends. He was excited to show us the city and it was obvious he loves Vienna, especially the area he grew up in. His passion and appreciation really made the difference and really helped us grow fond of the city as well. Patrick was a pleasure to talk with, he really listened and took in what we had to say and was always willing to answer and elaborate on our questions. He was so down-to-earth and has really made the difference in our stay in Vienna. When we arrived we felt out of place but after our tour, both my husband and I commented that we now feel like we belong. We are regretting spending most of our honeymoon in Rome as Vienna is quickly becoming our favorite destination. While it took miles to get us here, we both agree that we must come back one day. Sooner rather than later! Thank you so much, Patrick for the amazing perspective on such an extraordinary city!

Hands Down Favorite Tour

We had a great time eating, drinking, and walking our way throughout Vienna with our guide, Patrick. He showed us some out of the way Cafe’s and open markets that we never would have found thru any guide books. He was a great ambassador of the city and answered many questions from my family. This was hands down our favorite tour and is well worth your money and time.

This was an amazing Tour!

This was the best way to learn about the city. The tour guides were completely devoted to our comfort and safety. They took us to areas of the city that were culturally very important, but seldom seen by the average 'tourist.' The food tastings highlighted and underscored the rich history of the city. I've done tours in other large cities, but this ranks among the best of all city food tours. The group of 12 visitors with 2 guides was a low leader-to-participant ratio. Perfect!!
