Beautiful little church and the quartet were magnificent! It was also great to learn a little about the instruments they were playing.

Good alternative to a formal concert

Cozy atmosphere. Nice venue. Fantastic music. Only drawback is that no bathroom access in the church.

Go here rather than Musikvieren

Beautiful setting. They provided us with a photocopied sheet which gave information on the pieces to be played and the performers. This was unlike Musikvieren which we attended the following day. No information provided and no programmes available to purchase.

A wonderful experience

The concert was in a small quaint church which was lovely. Be prepared, no washrooms. The music was great and the concert was just long enough. Well done.

String quartet playing period instruments

The string quartet are magnificent. They play period instruments with gut strings rather than nylon, which gives a different sound to the music, more like what it would have sounded like when the music was originally composed.

Mosaic, beautiful, talented musicians, highly recommend

My two friends and I came here for a nice end to our evening after sight seeing all day and it was wonderful. It really brings to life all the history we saw throughout the day and the musicians were incredibly talented. Not to mention the stunning beauty of the church which you can admire while listening. It felt like a dream. It highly recommend!

Lovely venue and music

Wonderful setting in a beautiful church. Musicians were very good especially enjoyed the Haydn encore. It was so nice to hear the music played on original period instruments too

Get there early, sit in front

Spectacular musicians. Get there early though and sit near the front. Stragglers will come in and be loud near the back. But all in all incredible.

Lovely classical music in a beautiful church

The gorgeous church was easy to find. The string quartet played Mozart and Beethoven that night, and a Haydn piece as encore. The music was lovely and the musicians were very skilled. A nice night out in the City of Classical Music.

If you want to get a taste of classical music in a nice church setting, this one is perfect. 1 hour to sit back and listen.

Musicians not capable to play what they picked

Terrible performance on all accounts. Shrill, out of tune and out of rythm, they never even looked to the concert master to regain her tempo. Googled the quartet, amd they boast that they all trained in something else. No wonder they are unable to perform ... At least I hope that some of the proceeds go to the upkeep of this baroque church.

10/10 experience

Amazing venue, the musicians are so professional and wonderful at what they do. I would highly recommend. When you walk in - it literally is breathtaking.

Enjoyable but not up to expectations

Enjoyable performance. But we were told earlier Haydn and Schubert also would be played. It was not clear that a String Quartet would play.

Best way to listen

There is nowhere better than a church to listen to classical music. Great ensemble who played with such beauty, a privilege to listen

Classical Music in a lovely setting

Beautiful concert in a beautiful venue. Musicians were top notch. Played just the right amount of time. I'm sure if you want to go and see a concert at the Opera House that would be great too but for the money this is spot-on. Easy to get to as well. Highly recommend, even if you think you don't like classical music (come on, this is Vienna! try it!)

Magical!

This was one of my favorite experiences of our entire trip. I planned it for our first night in Vienna and what a lovely evening. The setting, the musicians.....truly magical!

Beautiful Location and Music

Beautiful music, arrive early if you want to sit towards the front. Really enjoyed the concert, and they played on 17th / 18th century instruments too. How cool!

Very nice

A beautiful setting and some very skilled musicians made this a very pleasant experience. I did feel the choice of music was not necessarily aimed at the audience and perhaps a few more popular pieces would have lighted the mood.

Particularly loved Haydn and Beethoven quartets. First violin weak. I think he was a sub. Want me to say more. More.

Beautiful performance but not worth the ticket price. Felt like it was their personal practice session and we just happen to be there.

Enjoyable evening

Easy to book online, details confirmed and payment taken as instructed. We very much enjoyed the experience. The string quartet played 4 Mozart and 4 Schubert movements plus a short encore. The church was an atmospheric venue and it was just right for us, not too long and players not dressed up in period costume. We would recommend.

Fabulous setting for a great quartett

Beautiful - lovely and intimate environment. The concert was just long enough but too long for the young and old.

The most stunning Church and music. The musicians were using real classical instruments made in the 18th century, so you really feel like you’re getting the real deal! It was a phenomenal experience

One of my Highlights during my Vienna trip.

Such a beautiful evening. Not only is the church’s interior absolutely stunning, but the performance was gorgeous. I would say the right amount of time for playing. A great price for the ticket! Was easy to find with citymapper and an easy process to gain entry. Really glad I decided to add to my trip.

Great artists, wonderful music, good atmosphere. The pews inside the church are a little uncomfortable after a long time.

A very pleasant concert with very talented musicians. The church was very easy to find. Great venue for the concert. The selections played by the musicians was very good. I highly recommend this event for a pleasant evening in Vienna.

Classical concert, arrive early!

A foursome of talented musicians. Arrive early to get front seats. It makes a big difference when you can see the musicians play their instruments. Unfortunately, I didn't recognise any of the pieces that were played but it was still a lovely evening.

Beautiful music in quaint church

Stunning, old, small church only 10 minutes walk from St Stephen's Cathedral. Music was beautifully played by a string quartet but would have been more appreciated (by me) if I knew any of the pieces by Mozart and Schubert. A lovely hour sat listening all the same.

An evening of magical music not to be missed

Absolutely magical evening in the most perfect location. The music was wonderful and such a treat to hear it being played on the “original” instruments. A real highlight of our trip to Vienna.

a much beloved missing opportunity

alas! unfortunately we couldn’t attend the concert because my husband (79 y old) fell ill, and we were too alarmed with what was going on to cancel our tickets would you consider refunding us because of sickness? i gave the concert 5 stars because i expected it to be wonderful!

Lovely concert in a beautiful setting

Beautiful church although a very modest exterior. Lovely concert, really enjoyed. Was a little worried as previous reviews stated place was a little difficult to find, however, very straightforward. We were seated at 7.15pm and had a really good view.

Stunning setting, magical music

We absolutely loved this wonderful evening of Mozart and Beethoven in the beautiful St Anne's Church. It was small, intimate, warm and cozy, and we felt transported to a golden age of music! All the musicians were very friendly and personable, and were kind enough to explain everything in both German and English. Would highly recommend!

Amazing way to get introduced to classical music.

Amazing quartet playing for a full hour with really old instruments. The church is beautiful and the event feels very intimate. We got seated in front row and got to appreciate the work of Mozart and Schubert. Highly recommend, considering we are not knowledgeable about classical music it’s a great short concert which has introduced us to their works! Well done to the performers. Their energy and passion is contagious.

A must see stop for the music and a stunning church

OUTSTANDING!!!! Oh my, its a stunning venue. The musicians were very talented and the sound produced from 4 string instruments literally filled the church with a beautiful sound. The seats to the sides like others have said is the more comfortable option. If you arrive when doors open for the event, you have full access to wander the church and take photos.

Stunningly Superb String Quartet

Going to see a string quartet in a church in Vienna such as St Anne's is a must. The musicians were incredibly accomplished and it was a fabulous setting to hear this music. Weirdly, the church was packed when we arrived, yet we were asked if we would like to sit at the front! Loved it, bravo!

Sublime music in an incredible setting.

The setting was incredible: the highly decorated church. The acoustics were great, and the 4 musicians were really talented playing instruments over 250 years old. It gave us a taste of one of Vienna's important cultural facets: the music. The programme was Hayden, Mozart and Beethoven.

Just right

Really enjoyed this string quartet concert in the atmospheric setting. Not too long and not too short. We weren’t familiar with the pieces but that didn’t matter at all. It’s good to hear new pieces.

Captivating concert

Performed in the beautiful St. Anne's Church, this concert is sure to impress any fan of classical music. The programme features works by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, all performed on 16th century instruments by a talented string quartet. Most of the pieces were unfamiliar, however the musicians performed them with such technical skill and enthusiasm, it was easy to get lost in the wonderful music. I would have preferred an earlier concert (e.g. from 7pm) and cushioned seating, however it was an enjoyable concert overall.
