Safe, interesting way to travel to Alice Springs

The driver was professional, gave a lot of good information and was helpful in answering any questions

Not great bus.

This bus is not a luxury coach by any means. They charged us $150 for the ride and the seats are very flat and non cushiony. The same att kings company had different buses which were very nice with Wifi the previous two days on different tours, which fooled us . This bus didn’t have wifi. On their website in FAQ they mentioned that all their buses have WiFi. Which is not true. In 45 degree weather on road there’s not much to see after an hour. The same landscapes. It was not great experience and I don’t recommend this tour as we were bored all along. If you have to travel in this route there are other coach services which may have better seats.

No sunrise, but a great tour.

Our tour ended up being on a rainy day. The sunrise viewing and breakfast were a bust, but our guide was very accommodating. The rock drawings were very interesting and our visit to the waterhole was special because, with the rain, there was water running down the rock into the waterhole - a rare sight. Our guide took us to an unscheduled stop to make up for the lack of a sunrise experience. We very much enjoyed our tour even if we got a little wet.

Uluru to Alice Springs transfer

Very efficient and prompt door to door service with friendly, helpful driver, Michael. Good to have a couple of stops to stretch legs and have a toilet break.

Wonderful Bus Ride

The bus provided for this trip was quite frankly wonderful. But the best part of the trip was the wonderful commentary and story telling by our driver/guide Jacob. He had relayed many stories and pointed our interesting landmarks that made the ~6 hour trip literally fly by. The bus was comfortable with charging ports for cell phones and the sound system was perfect. At the stops Jacob was informative and very approachable for questions.

Comfortable Transfer!

Great way to get from Yulara to Alice and see some of the surrounding landscape! Bus was very comfortable and stops were well timed.

Outback adventure

My friend came from Alice Springs and stopped at the salt lakes and said it was amazing. I was looking forward to seeing this on the trip to Alice but we didn’t stop there at all which was a shame.

Great journey

It was a comfortable journey with a very knowledgeable driver. I particularly enjoyed seeing the outback in its full glory , especially the sunset !!

Pleasant ride, nice sunset

The ride was smooth and nice. They have usb battery charger on board at your seat. There was one stop for 30 break which you can grab beer, get something to eat and feed Emu birds to kill time. The left side of seating was sunny, if you need shade, sit on the right side. But you get sunset view , sit on left side ☀️☀️ There was a documentary about Sidney Kidman playing.

Ride to Alice Springs

A very nice drive, with interesting commentary along the way. Loved the stop with the emus. Dropped right at my hotel.

Useful, educational, transport.

I NEVER MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS. This coach ride served us well. The driver's commentary was informative and humorous. The coach was comfortable, the ride relaxing.

Long journey

Dreadfully long & monotonous journey…..in addition to normal suspension up and down movement, bus seemed to tilt/swing side to side which was disconcerting ! Not sure if this was an issue on this particular bus but made for an uncomfortable 6 hours.

Smooth trip with emus :)

I liked this trip. The airco was bit strong, but that's always strong for me. The bus coach was a real gem There is one place where you can feed emus and buy souvenirs. +++++

Smooth passage

Pickup is ontime at SailsInTheDesert (and several other hotels). Bus makes two 15 minute pit stops at roadhouses at approximately 2 hr intervals where food is available for purchase. Drop off at major hotels in Alice Springs 5hr 30min later. Driver (Jerry) was very friendly pointing out some things along the way but mostly quiet so people could sleep. Bus has USB power plugs but carrier service is only at Uluru, Alice and the two Roadhouses.

A heavenly experience

This journey was absolutely wonderful. We traveled on New Year’s Eve and my two friends and I were the only ones on the coach, we were able to sit at the front and listen to our Amazing guide share her knowledge of the outback as we traveled along the stunning highway. This was the best coach ride I’ve ever experienced and a heartfelt thanks to our incredible guide, she was truly on another level with her knowledge. I Highly recommend this journey it was an incredible experience. Thank you!

Long drive but bearable with the stops to stretch our legs

This is a long drive. The scenery is great, but after hours of similar geography, even that was getting a little boring. We made a couple of short stops which allowed us to stretch our legs, buy food and beverages, so that helped a lot.

Our driver-Terry-was exceptional and kept us entertained and informed for the whole drive. Cattle stations, mount Connor, river systems, local events were a few of the many highlights

the coach was comfortable, ride was great, driver drove very safely and always keeping within the speed limit. just one downside was that I was not informed of the half an hour delay in departure, so always check with the concierge on that day if you are departing from Sails in the Desert. I would still strongly recommend the ride through the outbacks, a different experience from flying.

Excellent transfer from Uluru to Alice Springs

Well timed with regular stops. Dropped off at B&B in the outer suburbs of Alice Springs. Very pleasant, helpful and good driver.

The magneficent Uluru to Alice Springs Coach drive

AATKings bus drivers were excellent. We enjoyed the driver's commentary of the road trip. Also, the stops were interesting. Overall the experience of the road trip was very positive.

Comfortable , fun and informative

Comfortable coach , good commentary all the way. The most enjoyable part was after we changed over to another coach at Curtin Spring . The driver and commentator ( Mervin ..if my memory serves me correct ) was so humourous that he had us in splits all the way .

Comfortable ride and wonderful stories

The ride is very comfortable, with well designed stops for resting. We got to visit the center of Australia sign during one of the stop, which is a bonus. Our driver, Jim, is very friendly and knowledgable. He told us a lot of local histories and stories during the ride. He also has a great sense of humor, my 10 year old boy really enjoyed to listen to his stories. Thanks for making the ride so interesting and informational.

What a drive to Alice Springs! When a 6 hour drive is daunting Jim made it special and fun! So informative and we learnt so much. I didn’t have my headphones in once just sat and listened to his knowledgeable stories. What a great man!!!

I came out to Australia...

I came out to Australia two and a half years ago to see the country. Particularly, Sydney Opera House, the GBR and Uluru. It was great to finally see Uluru. That's all three of them done now. On to the next adventure!!!

Never have I experienced unbelievably outstanding customer service

I made a huge mistake arriving at Yallara airport instead of Alice Springs. My experience started when I spoke with an angel who saved me named Judy who works at AAT kings head office. She went out of her way to make sure I got a lift out of there to go to AS. Another driver who waited with me and called out to the one and only bus that had just left to go up to AS. Vinnie was so kind and caring and made me feel not so silly and safe whilst we waited for the bus to come back and pick me up. Adam arrived to pick me up and the ride up to AS was one of the highlights of my trip. Adam knew so much about everything to do with the red centre. He entertained us with his knowledge and jokes for the entire 6 hour trip. In summary what could have been an absolute disaster and I would have had to probably sleep at the airport as there were no rental cars or accommodation in Yallara, The entire AAT kings crew made me feel safe and their level of kindness and compassion was something I've never experienced before in any business. It truly blew my mind and resulted in a such an amazing experience that I will always remember. I was on another tour a few days later and Vinnie recognised me at a pitstop station. He was so interested in how I was doing. Thank you AAT Kings for having such an amazing team of people.

Not a nice experience

There was nothing memorable. The driver needs to read up on NT HISTORY/Culture which was promised when booking the trip. Not give history on NSW and his up bringing. Also a better time management.

Uluru- Alice Springs transfer

Spectacular Trip

Everything was just great, enjoyed the drive. The travel was comfortable. Beautiful landscapes as you travel on Stuart Highway.

Great experience

Pleasure of being driven in a comfortable air conditioned coach. The driver providing relevant commentary on the journey and an appropriate number of toilet, eating and stretching leg breaks.

Such poor service!!

AAT Kings cancelled the shuttle the day before (despite it being booked through Viator for 3 months) and AAT Kings confirmed the booking at the Yulara desk 3 days before. So left high and dry - a terrible experience! Used Emu Run - fantastic company, as they were so helpful and provided a great service at a cheaper price.

Travel to and from Uluru by bus.

Great commentary from the drivers. Despite the very late and often uncertain return trip to Alice, everything went well and I enjoyed the trip.

Very unreliable and staff were unprofessional.

It was 2 hours late and they wanted to drop me (a young female) at an unsafe location in Alice springs even though I had assured I would be dropped to a Tavern by staff before I left. Very shoddy service.

Great drivers, comfortable travelling.

Gerry drove us from Alice Springs to Yulara, and Pete drove us back a few days later. Both friendly and professional, and safe drivers. They manage your luggage for you. The coach was comfortable with handy USB ports, and a supply of drinking water that the drivers happily accessed so you could top up your water bottle. Regular comfort stops at road houses that had far better facilities than I was expecting: clean flushing toilets with hot & cold water & soap, barista coffee, and interesting displays to look at. Both Gerry and Pete told us interesting stories about the history of the land and the people who have made it home. It's a pleasant and comfortable way to travel.

AAT Kings a great company to travel with

Our driver, Barry, with AAT Kings, was a great driver and he gave us lots of information as we drove.

basic bus trip only

All we wanted was a shuttle from Yulara to our accommodation in Alice Springs. We were put on a bus which ended up going to Kings Canyon so everyone else was pumped for a multi-day trip with accompanying commentary. We then had to change buses in the middle of nowhere onto a bus coming from Kings Canyon with accompanying commentary. On both buses we felt a bit like our inclusion was a bit of an inconvenience to the other tours. When we got to Alice Springs the driver didn't know where our accommodation was and we had to direct him to it.

A really convenient way to get to Alice Springs, with views

There was no delay, the coach pulled up at our hotel in Yulara exactly when it was supposed to. The coaches were clean and airconditioned. We had to change at the junction where the King's Canyon road meets the Lasseter highway and our second driver was just as friendly and informative as the first. You get a great view over the landscape from up in the coach and you don't have to worry about the driving! Our coach stopped for a toilet break at the Mount Conner viewpoint, then again for a refreshment break at the Erldunda roadhouse. The coach dropped us off at our hotel in Alice Springs, so this really is a door to door service.

Makes a journey a treat

I must admit when we booked the coach trip from Alice Springs to Uluru it was a means to an end. In fact sitting on a coach for a few hours was certainly not high on my bucket list. However I was more than pleasantly surprised about how enjoyable it was. This was almost entirely down to our driver / guide Pete. His commentary from Alice Springs through pretty much the whole journey was fascinating. A mix of geography, geology, history, legends, myths, social history, modern history and a few other little gems kept the journey flying by. We had three stops. Two truck stops (let’s call them ‘authentic’ for us UK visitors more used to a Costa or Starbucks) and a scenic stop broke up the journey perfectly. The coach is comfortable enough both seating and environmental. The views are endless and give you an idea how vast and baron this area of Australia is.
