This tour was better than I ever imagined it to be. Everything was wonderful…from the Sacred Sites tour, to the sunset viewing area with champagne and snacks, to the BBQ dinner and star presentation at the end. A special thank you to our dinner host and star lecturer, Odin. This was an incredible way to end our time here at Uluru!

The Experience is Outstanding !

Getting to meet new people, have an amazing sunset experience, quite unlike anything I have ever experienced before ! There was wine and food to enjoy the view of Ayers Rock turning shades as the sun set. It was followed by a supremely fabulous BBQ and a stargazing night. Got to know amazing fun facts about constellations and stars and engage the table in a rich conversation. Worth every penny !

Not value for money.

Overall package was good. Staff friendly & informative. The disappointing aspect was the meal. Steak precooked & cold, corn was watery, vegetables were under cooked. A bit more effort in preparation/detail of food is required.

An experience to remember

We were picked up right on time and everything went smoothly. The sunset was great and the food fantastic and a couple of nice wines. The astronomy knowledge at the end just topped off a great experience. Would recommend this experience for sure.

Rip off

We sat with some Americans,Germans and an English girl and was quite embarrassed about the tour. For that much money you really need to step up your game. Maybe have a projector onto the truck showing a Dreamtime story or something. Presenters batteries went flat after a minute. A lamington for desert was not good enough for that much money.

The sunset view of the...

The sunset view of the Ayers Rock is marvelous. The food in the barbecue dinner is fine. The guide of the star talk is professionally competent and was clear in his presentation.

Breathtaking

We watched the sunset on Ayers Rock, which made for a relaxing evening. Afterwards, we headed out into the dark, to enjoy a romantic dinner under the stars. The food was AMAZING and the stars around us were just breathtaking. The only thing I would change would be having more time to visualize the stars. We spent a lot of time eating dinner and socializing, it was finally time to turn off the lamps & receive our star talk. The talk was brief and when it ended, there was not anymore time to take photos of the night sky or to really take in what we just learned.

Definitely do this tour.

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. We were picked up on time and driven to a beautiful spot to watch the sunset over Uluru. The canapés were a lovely touch and as many drinks you wanted. Once the sun had set we were taken to a beautiful place all set ready for our BBQ. The tables were amazing with prpoper table cloths and lamps to set the scene. After a lovely meal with your choice of drinks all the lights were turned off and we had a talk about the stars. The guide pointed out stars and explained about the planets. This was very interesting and thoroughly enjoyable. We were then taken back to our hotel by our driver Rob who kept the mood going by playing songs that we could sing along to. Overall a fabulous evening.

Great experience!

It was the best way to finish our weekend trip to Uluru. Super friendly staff, well organized and ontime.

Sunset BBQ dinner under the stars

It was beautifully organised, the BBQ meal was excellent and the star gazing was really informative and enjoyable. The AAT Kings team were friendly and very accommodating.

Magical!

This was a birthday present for me & I had the most wonderful time! The bus was very punctual & the driver was lovely. We were first taken to the viewing area to enjoy bubbly & snacks with the magnificent view of Uluru sunset. Then we were taken to our BBQ dinner with endless drinks & wonderful service. The stars shone super bright for me that night

Recommend

Wow, a great experience, Great talks and stories as we drive to Uluru, guides were brilliant, sorry I can’t remember both your names but one of you was Jesse. A walk to the water hole with lots of explanations about the rock and lots more. A visit to the visitor centre, And then off to watch the Sunset at the Uluru viewing area. We watched the sun go down with drinks and nibbles and after it disappeared we went on to the BBQ area, we arrived with tables set with food cooking beside it all in the moonlight with Uluru in the background. It was rather magical. We had a feast of a meal including steak, chicken skewers, Roo, roasted veggies, sweetcorn and salads, we then had a dessert and teas/ coffe after. By now the sky had continued to get darker and we had our night sky talk. It was a brilliant evening. We really enjoyed it and it made our trip to Uluru really memorable. All the staff did a great job, Thankyou

Uluru: Everlasting Personal Highlight

Our experience seeing this amazing natural and just as importantly sacred aboriginal site was made exceptional by our 2 guide/driver comb of John and Russel. Each added their own quite interesting interpretations of the area and sites and their knowledge of the area made our tour most enjoyable. They worked together complementary and each made our journey the best of all the tours we did in the area. My wife and I highly recommend you get this pair for your trip. You will not be disappointed. The BBQ portion continued after they completed the guided portion of the trip, it too was worthwhile doing. Note: John was seen by us on multiple occasions as one of the resort’s shuttle bus drivers- he does this job as well with true enthusiasm.

Star talk was exceptional and I told Odin a stat or two that he didn’t know, my wife said “ I out dorked the dork “ lol

Logistics not optimal

Staff was great, food was good, star gazing was a little lacking because the moon was out (not the fault of the staff, just the timing, and the talk was fine). It wasn’t quite what we expected, though, in terms of logistics…we were dropped off in a parking lot near Ayer’s Rock to watch the sunset and were offered some wine, beer and cheese. After about 1-1/2 hrs, we reboarded the bus and were taken to a different parking area where they had tables set up for the dinner. So our only complaint was having to get on and off the bus at two locations for appetizers and dinner.

Book for the convenience

Pickup, sunset viewing, drinks and bbq dinner all get arranged. Nothing special. Nice social on the dinner table. Interesting star talk of southern hemisphere sky.

Enjoying Ayers Rock sunset.

Very well organized. The snacks while watching the sun go down was a bonus. I enjoyed the many color changes of Ayers Rock as the sun set. Great time.

The bbq was lovely and so well organised Sadly not the best sunset but still an enjoyable night and meet some interesting people

Unfortunate

We never got to come to Uluru because of storm Jasper! Very unfortunate and gutted we missed out !!!

A great way to end the trip!

Excellent! Great views of Ayers rocks. Nibbles and drinks were great. The food at the location (yes it is a car park but I don't think many people want to be sitting in the middle of the dessert for a dinner). The food was excellent. Plentiful! We only had 10 on out group so just 1 table. Initimate, pleasant with nice staff. The star gazing talk was a really nice addition. Wear long sleeves!

Great night of food, drinks and stars

Really enjoyed the meal of steak, kangaroo and choice of roast veggies or salads, beer and wines were great and the interesting star talk made for a great night.

Dinner with the stars

Dinner under a gazillion stars, Uluru at its finest during the setting sun. Throughly enjoyed the evening with my parents, now in their 80’s and recommend.

Don’t do it. Completely overpriced, very poor quality experience and food.

Extremely overpriced and very average experience. Huddled together with crowds to watch the view. Canapés was a few supermarket cheese cubes and some corn chips. Not enough for everyone. The sunset is not over Uluṟu it’s the other side. BBQ dinner was not as advertised. Food was extremely basic. Not at all like described. Not at all like the photos.

Not recommended!!

Do not waste $300 per person on this sunset drinks/bbq dinner tour. It was the biggest touristy rip off I have ever been on. You are better off driving yourself, taking some food and buying an overpriced bottle of wine from the outback motel. The food at the sunset drinks was ordinary, the food at the bbq was very ordinary. They had told me you could have as much wine as you wanted but they only came around twice with it. There was meant to be an expert telling us about the stars but they were sick and there is no back up. You’d think they could at least have a didgeridoo player there for $300 each. The bus was full, we got asked to move twice for elderly people who for some reason got on last.. We are very disappointed and I will be going to ask for my money back tomorrow.

Wonderful night.

We met great people and loved the drinks as the sun set over Uluru. The bbq was delicious and the star gazing and talk was amazing. Tracy was a fun driver and very friendly and informative.

Don’t bother

Not worth the money. We sat in a car park. Good terrible and very basic. Steak was 2 minute steak no prawns and chicken kebab was from coles. Absolutely not worth the money. Star expert had no idea.

Sunset at the Rock

A wonderful experience shared with my Dad as part of his “bucket list”. The view of the rock as the sun was setting was magical and one we always remember.

A once in a lifetime experience

Champagne and nibbles while watching the iconic Uluru sunset was a truly special experience. Note the inverted reflection of Uluru in the champagne glass! We were safely looked after being transported from the resort, from site to site and return to the resort. The dinner was pretty good although there was no real evidence of an authentic barbecue as advertised. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The star and cosmic presentation was done with expertise and knowledge. It was particularly memorable. Thank you!

Speechless

Wow. Wintjiri Wiru is the stunning laser show. We did the cocktails and gourmet picnic hamper at the laser show. What an experience. Beautiful cocktails and canapés on arrival as you watch the sunset over Uluṟu and The Olga’s. Simply stunning. Then we enjoyed a fabulous gourmet picnic hamper with local produce (oh my - yum) and complimentary wine as we watched an incredible laser show involving over 1000 drones. You simply must go to savour this experience WOW. A big thank you to all the staff especially those behind the scenes. We’ll done

Beautiful evening with average food.

The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. The experience was a Bit too commercialized for my liking. The dinner itself was not overly great. Choices were average. I was given kangaroo steak instead of beef which I couldn't eat, same with my husband. Met lots of different people, the weather was perfect. Good star talk.

Night of sheer enjoyment

What a great night, we arrived at the viewing area to nibbles,champagne, beer wine and soft drink. The tour operators were great and very friendly. The sunset was amazing. Then of further into the national park to our BBQ,. The BBQ was amazing beautiful food and plenty of it, friendly staff and a night of star gazing. Would highly recommend this experience.

Just a personal opinion

The things that I enjoyed: -The food, I’m vegetarian and when I told the chef this she presented me with some amazing Vegetable currys she had made. -The Star talk was great, although my husband wears hearing aids and the gentleman giving the talk did not use a microphone. I actually thought it was nice for the ambience, but he could not hear the whole talk when the presenter was not near our table. -The didgeridoo presentation on our table. It really added to the mood. -The view, eating dinner under the stars with Uluru as your back drop is breathtaking. -The service was on point and the guy who served us was from the hospitality training school in Uluru town. He was courteous and attentive. What I didn’t enjoy. -The long drop toilet, it stunk and got worse as the night progressed. -The field of lights were pretty but maybe because we are experiencing a-lot of light shows I thought it was a bit boring. I appreciate that it would have taken a long and tedious installation but I really think in my opinion its had its day.

Disappointing

You go on this tour for two reasons: to experience the natural landscape - the views of Uluru, the stars and the astronomy talk etc - and also the food and dining experience. We lost out on both counts. The weather was poor so although we could see Uluru, there was nothing much to see at sunset - it just faded into black. That's not the tour operator's fault. Also not their fault that there were no stars to see at all. But this only served to put the focus even more on the food, which sadly was pretty dreadful. The bread was barely edible, served up with a plastic packet of margarine. The buffet would be just about acceptable in a school canteen but was truly ordinary food and exceptionally poorly presented (ie like a school canteen). Also, the menu would have been well suited to a hot summer NT night, but it was 6 degrees and no adjustments had been made. Anything at 'room temperature' (ie the plates, the salad, the trays of roasted vegetables) was therefore actually at fridge temperature given how cold it was. So fridge-temperature salads and vegetables were served at 6 degrees, and even the hot food quickly became cold because they were served on chilled plates. It was actually unpleasant (and the space heaters were not at all adequate - everyone was freezing). Instead of serving chilled sparkling wine at 6 degrees, maybe think about a mulled wine? And at least heat the plates and think about serving some more warm salads and sides, instead of so much chilled food in the depths of winter. The upside? You are seated at shared tables and we had some hilarious guests at ours, so we actually had a cheerful night - just wouldn't choose to do this again.

Underwhelming

We sat in the car park and not on the desert sand. The experience was not as the photos describe. The steak meal was well below standard.

Truly memorable Uluṟu sunset and dinner experience!

Uluṟu was sensational! The AAT staff were very helpful and competent. The whole set up for dinner and the food were exceptional. Truly a memorable experience.

No show

After driving half way across the country, booking accomodation, called in to confirm collection time, got dressed up and excited about the evening, the tour operator did not show up. Tour operator had mistaken the collection time leaving us waiting with no communication. We had to travel on to stuck to our itinerary and will probably never have the finances to travel through this area again. Something that should have been magical Is now bad memory.

Waste of time & money

22/5/23-What a totally disappointing experience this was! The menu advertised wasn’t served. Several of our party weren’t meat eaters & were looking forward to the garlic prawns. The experience proved to be a very expensive dinner of salads. The Star Tour Guide didn’t turn up! The marketing of the dinner being next to the rock is deceiving. Save your money.

BBQ dinner

The dinner was average , and the nibbles at the sunset finished and were not replaced , however besides that the watching Ulluru at sunset was magical . The bus was comfy and the guides good .the star viewing didn’t happen as the weather was cloudy

Sunset dining and a dark clear starlight sky

The space and the silence and the stars and night sky are a wonderful curtain after the changing colour kaleidoscope of the day fading. Sunset at Uluru is the backdrop. Then is night with no streelights, cars or sirens. It's dark, the sort of darkness rarely experienced by city dwellers. The talk about the stars and their location in the sky was informative and interesting. The food was good outback tucker. Don't expect five star dining: it's adequate, well presented and tasty and best enjoyed by going with the flow. Toilets are clean but not fancy, Relax and listen.
