FANTASTIC NIGHT WITH REKHA

This is by far one of the best nights we had in Udaipur. It was amazing to be welcomed into a private home. Rekha taught us how to cook delicious food and explained the ingredients and spices we were using. It was fun and informative. We also had the pleasure of meeting Akhilesh who is an absolute gem and his mother. We were so full by the end of the evening. We left feeling so happy that we had accomplished new cooking skills and having met new friends.

Amazing authentic experience.

We thank Rekha and her family so much for such a special night. She is a women of many talents. She shared with us many delicious traditional recipes and warmly welcoming us into her home. Rekha and her husband also shared their memories with us. We sat with them as they showed us their wedding album and talked through a traditional Indian wedding. This was also a highlight of our experience. For us, travelling is all about the people and they sure made this experience a memorable one for us. Thank you Rekha and Akhilesh.

Our friends in Udaipur

We were so excited to be doing a cooking class during our travels, but it was so much more than that. We were welcomed into Rekha and Akhil’s home where we met their lovely parents. Throughout the evening we made some delicious food while being taught all the techniques to go along with it, shown amazing art by Akhil’s father, and even flicked though some wedding photos that we wanted to see. Rekha and Akhil are stunningly kind and intelligent people who turned into friends by the end of the class. I’d encourage everyone to go and meet these people and spend an evening in their company, we still keep in touch and I hope they are both doing well 😊

Amazing cultural experience and new friends!

Rekha and her beautiful family invited our group of 5 with open arms into their home! We cooked delicious food and chatted all night. We were so full and it felt like the food kept on coming. Definitely arrive hungry! At the end of the night, I asked if we could look at wedding photos, and Rekhas whole family showed us their beautiful album while sharing stories about the arduous 10 day wedding process. I loved laughing with Rekhas whole family and learning so much more about indian culture than just the food. Us 3 girls in the group were lucky enough to also get a makeover by Rekha, who generously shared all of her sarees and jewelry for a serious photoshoot sesh in their bedroom, complete with the in-laws jumping in and taking photos. We shared so many stories and laughs. Rekha and her family feel like true friends! We had so much fun that it felt more like a sleepover, not a cooking class! Our Udaipur family! Amazing people who do cooking classes out of pride for their culture.

We really enjoyed that it was in a small group (just the two of us) and that it was authentic. We also are very happy we got the recipies at the end of the lesson. We also loved the chat we had where we talked about our cultural differences.

We had a really good moment of cooking lesson with Rekha, she is a really nice cooker and good teacher. We had fun all together with Rekha, Akhilesh her husband an other lerner called Daniel, my husband and I. We learned together how to make some authentic indian plates. At the end, we eated all we made and that was delicious! Thankyou for this moment and for welcoming us in your home.

I highly recommend this cooking class. You will learn to cook at least 6 delicious dishes and on top learn more about India. The family is so welcoming and warm. The price is really fair for what you get. Don’t miss this opportunity

Authentic Home Cooking in India

My husband and I had a wonderful time learning authentic Rajasthani cooking in a home setting. All of the ingredients were fresh and high quality and the finished meal was delicious! It was a welcomed change from touring around.

Great cultural & cooking experience

Rekha's cooking class was very fun. It was a real cultural exchange. We felt very welcomed into the family's house. We enjoyed learning to cook some Indian dishes and we are very much looking forward to preparing them when we get back home. Rekha was also very accommodating with our dietary preferences (no onion) and spiciness tolerance. Would totally recommend if you want to spend a beautiful evening meeting Indian culture.

It was a great experience! Rekha teached me a lot of dishes, food was great and you have the occasion to understand something more about Indian culture being in a traditional Indian house. Every member of the family was very kind, we enjoyed the experience!

Great Evening with Rekha and Akhilesh

We had an amazing evening with Rekha, Akhilesh and her family. They were incredibly accommodating and kind. The food was delicious (we learnt to cook so many things!) and it was great to try new types of Indian food. After we ate, rekha showed us her beautiful sari’s and even gave me a henna tattoo! As the evening ended quite late, they kindly offered to take us back to our hotel, too. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend anyone visiting Udaipur to try this great experience!

the best cooking class of my life!

Rheka welcomed us to her home and taught us perfectly how to cook her amazing recipes. We learned how to cook traditional rice, daal, delicious matar paneer and sweet treats! Moreover she taught us 5 different types of chapati! An truly unique experience. But she not only taught us how to cook, she and her husband also explained us so much about their faith and culture. The evening exceeded all our expectations and I even got to try on one of Rhekas beautiful saris and immerse myself in Indian culture.The evening ended with a beautiful henna tattoo and a spontaneous visit to their temple. I am so thankful for this amazing experience and I can highly recommend booking her course!

A very special evening. Must do when in Udaipur

Vimla is a fantastic person and a fantastic cooking teacher. We learned how to prepare and make lots of different dishes which were all very tasty. We also learned how to my make masala chai (my favourite thing in India) Vimla’s family also welcomed us to their home like we were also part of their family. After dinner, Vimla and her husband (Akhilesh) showed us their wedding photos and we got the chance to try on traditional Indian clothing. It was our last evening in India and they made it very special for us. Akhi’s mother was also very lovely and welcoming to the home. Thank you for everything to an amazing family

We had a beautiful time with Rheka and her family. They do everything to make us feel good in their home. Rheka lead the cooking class as a chef. Very prepared and organise, we had time to do a full thali and we try all those recepe at home. So happy for this experience! I recommend 100%

Amazing experience

Amazing experience!! Rekha was an amazing teacher and we had so much fun learning about Indian Cuisine. We also got to spend some time with her and her family for such a personal experience where they let us wear a Sari and a turban, and even gave us a henna tattoo. They treated us like family and we are so grateful to them for their hospitality. 10/10 recommend!

Come hungry, leave happy

My cooking class with Rekha was phenomenal. Did you know there are many different kinds of chapati? I didn't, but we made three of them. You'll learn many such things over the course of a wonderful evening cooking, sampling and feasting at the end. Besides the food and class itself, the family was also so kind and courteous and made me feel right at home during my time with them. This was my first cooking class in India, and would highly recommend.

Great cooking discovery

We loved chatting with Vimla, and learning more about Indian cuisine. We had a great time, it was excellent! We were able to test 6 different recipes, including garnished Indian breads that we loved. She sent us the photos and recipes afterwards, thank you very much!

Amazing experience!

The experience was incredible, we were very well received by Rekha and Akhilesh in their home, and being welcomed into someone's home is always a gift. First of all, she explained to us how the class would go and that after the end she would send us a PDF of everything we learned. I thought it was great, because I'll be able to do it at home later without forgetting any steps. The best part for me is the possibility of experiencing culture the way it really happens, preparing and drinking tea in the company of good people, seeing how a dish is prepared and consumed in a home rather than in a restaurant. All preparations were well explained with patience and lots of fun. Being able to eat a meal prepared with your own hands is a great feeling! I highly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to take this class! In addition to cuisine and culture, this family was very kind to welcome us and teach us.

Perfect experience

The experience was very interesting, rich in knowledge, fun and relaxed. As soon as we arrived we were very well received by Rekha and Akhilesh at their home, we chatted and introduced ourselves and went to start the class. At the beginning she taught us “Masala chai” and also explained the custom they have when drinking it during the day. After preparing, we all drank together, sitting and talking. We then started preparing other dishes, such as the “Pakoda” which serves as an appetizer before preparing all the other foods (which were quite a lot) for the meal. It was a time of rich knowledge and exchange of information between us which, in addition to learning how to prepare meals, made us feel welcomed and loved. We also made others like Vegetable Pulao, Daal tadka, Matar paneer and 5 different types of Chapati. In addition to all this rich knowledge and lots of fun after preparation, we ate these delicacies made by us! I highly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to take this class!

Amazing experience !!!

We were very well received, we learned how to make the dishes in practice and you didn't need to worry about writing anything down as she sent the recipes later. She explains each dish step by step, talks about each ingredient and in the end we eat what we made and everything is very good. I recommend it to everyone!

Indian cooking experience at home

Great experience! He taught us how to make different Indian dishes, cooking them together and tasting them. At the end of the lesson we had dinner with what we had prepared (the teacher is obviously the one who does the bulk of the work as the procedures are not very simple) Everything fantastic!! We stayed with her for about 4 hours. If desired, he also organizes shopping tours where he takes you to the best places to buy and buy art. Both very interesting but unfortunately we didn't have time to do them. An absolutely must-do experience!!

Délicieuse expérience

Nous avons passé une superbe soirée avec Rekha ! Nous avons préparé ensemble un repas complet rajhastani entourées par sa famille. C'était délicieux et très bien expliqué. Nous avons hâte de pouvoir cuisiner à nouveau ces plats une fois rentrées à la maison.
