If we could give it more than 5* we would. An amazing, brilliant, great value, excellent quality experience. Picking up in UbUd, the drive through the rice terraces, the visit to the local market and the beautiful location of the school. Thevteachwrs wete excellent. The food we cooked delicious. Met some lovely people. Just can’t recommend this experience highly enough

Amazing & fun experience!

The two women who looked after our tour and cooking class on May 15th were great! We started off in the local markets, then to the farm to pick our own vegetables, and then finally the cooking. The dishes were very tasty and we wiped the plate clean! It was very inclusive for everyone whether you c all yourself a cook or not. The staff made it really fun, entertaining and easy. Would highly recommend!

Great experience with yummy recipes

We really enjoyed ourselves. Although when we were picked up from our hotel we were told we were not able to go to the market. Other people in the class had gone to the market. It may have been a miscommunication but we were a little disappointed. Overall great class!!

A fun, educational and tasty day out

Hard to pick the most memorable part... it was all good. Driving through the lush countryside with a great bunch of people, seeing how things grow, picking our own veggies, expert and funny cooking instructors, and the delicious food that we cooked and ate. I thoroughly recommend this class.

Very authentic cooking school!

A very good experience with this team. Just the right mix of information and time to absorb. They were very well organised and we created some food that I would never have attempted on my own! Works very well as a couple and they paired up everyone.

Perfect day

The gardens are lovely. The cooking was fun, but doing the firefly watch with Depi and her uncle and going to their home was our favorite more intimate part. Thank you for the wonderful Balinese hospitality.

Really great fun. Visited local market, learnt about some of the produce and then onto the farm for a tour and cooking. Loved the recipes and techniques. The cookbook provided will be a regular reference at home.

Starting with the excellent market tour. very informative with tastings. You try they buy. Then the farm tour and picking, again exceptional. My 17 yo son took over the cooking and had an awesome time cooking 2 entre',3 mains & 1 dessert. Absolutely no rush. They helped finish of toward the end of day and we finished tour 1.5 hours after we were meant to finish but this was no problem, in fact we liked. take this into account and be flexible with Bali time. Great cook book with the precise recipes and instructions provided in hardcopy and to take away as well as YouTube video instructions link provided. Really nice Day at farm

This farm is really authentic and located in The middle of jungle 👍 Lessons were good, food really delicious and teachers are really nice. I got some New ideas of foodstuff how to Make it at home 😋 The only minus is that it could Be little shorter and include less cutting of The onions and chiles. I mean that with appetizers it good to cut them all by studendt and learn how to do IT but with main courses those could Be preperet and minced by the staff, so stundent could have More energi and Time to concentrate on The new things like The new and unknown ingrediensies and how to Combine those to Make and Get New food experiences.

Best of Balinese Cooking

We had an incredible time at the Taman Dukah Farm Cooking School . We started the morning off with a tour of local markets and an opportunity to learn about and try some local fruits, vegetables and spices then we traveled to the farm which is so beautiful. Our guides were amazing so knowledgeable and fun. We had a tour of their crops and were given the opportunity to pick some of the ingredients for our cooking lesson direct from the garden. My partner and I elected to cook vegetarian meals we made 4 dishes altogether and they were delicious. I would highly recommend doing this whilst in Ubud. My partner is not a cook and was apprehensive but he thought it was one of the best things we have ever done on our many trips to Bali.

Delicious Food & Fun Farm Experience!

This was such a great day! The guides/chefs took us around a Balinese farm and taught us all about the local flora. It was so beautiful and informative! We got to pick many of our ingredients directly from the farm and then cook them up right there. The staff made the entire experience so fun and the food was delicious! I highly recommend this excursion!!

This tour was fantastic!!! The facility location is in the middle of a tropical heaven, it’s clean, well manicured and the ambiance is so serene! The staff are so enjoyable to be around! They are patient, fun and make this experience top notch! Then the food! Wow! So spectacular!!! Also, do the additional countryside tour and fireflies in the rice fields! Seeing a traditional Balinese home and being given a rundown of the customs and culture was wonderful! Being in the rice fields with the stars above , the fireflies lighting up the fields and listening to the music of nature was so worth it!!!! Do this your!

Amazing Bali cooking experience

Made new friends! The cooking school is set on a family organic farm in the mountains. It is new since COVID. But you would never know it. They are like a well oiled machine. Engaging and full of humor. You will definitely get an introduction to Balinese cuisine. There is an advanced class offered however not offered on Viator. I recommended that they add that option because I would have definitely signed up. This is not just a cooking class it is an experience. If you take the morning class you have a market visit, breakfast, farm picking and cook appetizers eat them and then a variety of main course and dessert. Everyone in the class is having a great time and I met people from many countries that day who just have a love of food.

Beat activity we did in Bali

Truly excellent day - the driver that picks you up doesn’t have a huge amount of English but enough to get by and is very friendly. Once you arrive at the market you meet your guides and they are so friendly and welcoming. We took a tour of the local market where the ingredients for our day were bought. We then returned to the farm to pick the rest. We then cooked up 6 wonderful courses. We made some friends and walked away with a recipe book. Highly recommend

Girls Trip

We were looking for a cooking experience that wasn't in a hotel. What a great choice, we got to visit fresh food markets and spend some time in a garden picking ingredients to cook. We all had a great morning and learnt a few extra things to put in the memory bank. Thanks

This is probably the best cooking experience we have done during our travels. Great team, great facilities and well run class. Would highly recommend.

Amazing experience and can be catered to vegetarians

This experience was amazing. We were picked up by the minibus and took to the market where we tried produce and the leader bought some for our breakfast buffet. When we got to the farm we had welcome drinks along with fruit and traditional rice-based desserts. Next we went for a tour around the farm learning about all the foods and also picking our own produce to use later. Then we started the cooking, we had Depi who was very knowledgable and an excellent lead giving us plenty of time and help. All the recipes were adapted so we were making similar food options as the non-vegetarians but ours included vegetables, tempeh and tofu. They also had gluten free alternatives including rice flour. We made food then ate, then went back to make more and ate again. After our day, we were given a recipe book and the minibus took us back to the pick up point. I would highly recommend! The staff are excellent and made this experience beyond our expectations.

Do it

Climb bamboo as a true Balinese seams easy but it isn’t. Receipts were easy for all level and meet people for all the word is part of the experience.

Just loved this experience! Visit to the local market, picked our own veg from the organic farm, excellent tea and coffee with various exotic fruits to start. Then for the most amazing taste explosion, fun filled, learning experience of actually cooking authentic Balinese food! You have to come do this!!

Great place of nature to have à cooking experience

I highly recommand this cooking experience in the morning with a tradditionnal market session The farm after is a peacefull area. Smily Kind people took us in charge to cook and taste delicious indonesian food.

Magnificent day out!

This was a fabulous day. We went to the morning market (which was a little confrontational at times), then did a tour of the farm and learnt the various fruit, nuts and vegetables they grow. Then we spent a couple of hours learning to cook some beautiful Indonesian dishes.

A very nice afternoon and evening

Informative and fun. The teachers were light-hearted and relaxed, the recipes straightforward and easy, and the location was beautiful. I very much enjoyed it, and the 'Firefly hike' afterward is a nice gesture on their part to take us a little deeper into their village life, and it is all for a good cause.

Fantastic food

Highly recommend it was fantastic going to the market and seeing all of the local plants. The guides were extremely helpful in answering all questions regarding what was what. The food we made in the class was fantastic!

Best activity in Bali!

We had a great time doing the morning cooking class! We learnt a lot about the local way of life by visiting a food market and trying the tasty fruits and snacks, and later, by doing a tour of the farm. My husband even got to climb up a palm tree. 😀 We were also very lucky to find a ripe cocoa fruit, and we got to try the white flesh inside. Delicious! The cooking class itself was very good - all the dishes we made were delicious, especially the sweet and sour tempeh, and the cooking itself was easy since we got a lot of help from our cooking assistants. They did all the hard parts (measuring, cleaning, grinding), while we got to do the fun parts of the cooking process. The staff was extremely helpful and nice, and they spoke excellent English. We highly recommend this activity to anyone coming to Bali.

Fabulous experience from beginning to end. Having only been in business for one year, this team have pulled on all their experience and passion and created an informative, educational and fun experience for anyone interested in cultural cooking and farming. Loved it!

Cooking with friends

From start to finish the day was amazing. The cooking instructors and all the staff were very fun, friendly and informative. They took us around the farm to pick our ingredients and teaching us about the different plants. Due to the altitude the temperature was very comfortable and not hot or humid. The food they got us to make was delicious and we were given an option between chicken or vegetarian/vegan. They picked us up and dropped us off from our accommodation. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely do it again.

Tasty Balinese Cooking

Great trip, started at the market, then moved to the farm where we picked our ingredients for cooking. We made a number of dishes from scratch and then ate them all. Food was delicious and company on the trip good. Our host was very friendly and engaging, sharing knowledge, helping us get the dishes just right and having some fun along the way. Definitely recommend this trip.

Fantastic experience!!

This was a fantastic experience! The staff have amazing knowledge of the farm and we're excellent instructors when guiding the class through the cooking. I also did the firefly tour and it was the perfect way to end the long day.

Amazing Experience Even With Young Children

Amazing family experience!!! Our youngest is only a year old so we were hesitant to book but everyone was so incredibly accommodating, patient, and kind while my young kids acted like…young kids. Everything was so well organized and enjoyable. The food was all so delicious (that my kids couldn’t stop eating), the afternoon class serves as both lunch and dinner for the family (plus some leftovers we brought home), and it was such a fun experience going through the farm learning about what we were going to be cooking. All the reviews say about the same thing but that’s because it’s true — this was a huge highlight to our trip. We’re so grateful to have had this experience and would recommend it to absolutely everyone. Book this class and learn something new in such a beautiful location!

Highlight of our trip

Such a great day and a highlight of our time in Bali. Really enjoyed the stop at the local market and seeing the variety of fruit/veggies/spices before the tour of the farm and picking some of our ingredients. The cooking was fun and easy to follow and food was delicious (and lots of it), and they easily cater for dietaries. Above all the hosts were great and made the experience extra fun and memorable. Highly recommend this experience!

A Foodie Family Must-Do

This was one of the highlights of my visit to Ubud with my sister and 15yo niece. We all love to cook, and are always looking for fun foodie experiences when we travel. The Bali Farm Cooking School was a perfect fit for us. The morning market where we purchased fresh fruits for breakfast was an interesting peek into local culture and lifestyle. The tour and food harvesting from the farm was educational without being overwhelming. It was really great to pick our own ingredients and then be able to cook with them to create delicious local dishes. There were probably 15 people or so in the tour group, the youngest being about 7, and there was enough to do that everybody got hands on cooking experience - engaging enough for novices and experts alike. The best part - all the food we made was outstanding!

From Market to Plate: A Unique and Educational Cooking Experience at Authentic Bali Farm

I recently had the pleasure of attending a half-day cooking class at the Authentic Bali Farm Cooking School & Organic Farm and was thoroughly impressed with the entire experience. Led by the lovely and knowledgeable Kadek, the morning began with a fascinating tour of the local farmer's market, where I was able to learn about and sample a variety of local fruits and vegetables. Kadek was kind enough to purchase some of my favorite snacks and fruits, which I enjoyed for breakfast upon arriving at the farm. The tour of the organic farm was equally captivating, providing me with the unique opportunity to witness the growth of cinnamon and vanilla trees for the very first time. What made this experience truly special was the fact that I happened to be the only participant that morning, making it a truly personalized and intimate experience. As a solo traveler celebrating my birthday, the warmth and friendliness of the people at the farm made my day all the more memorable.
