My best Sydney trip

A truly great day and the tour guide (known as "the other Steve") was both friendly and informative. He made us all feel very relaxed when I got on theminibus bus and within 5 mins we all felt as if we'd known each other for years. A fantastic trip!!!

For wine enthusiasts Hunter Valley makes amazing wine, a must do while in Sydney!

Enjoyed the scenic drive from Sydney to Hunter Valley and Chris was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable, friendly, and most of all FUN! The family owned wineries on our tour were beautiful and every glass of wine I sampled was delicious, my fav was the Prosecco and Chardonnay from Oakvale winery and all organic! The pizza and salad lunch was tasty at Binbadgen. Could have done without the gin and vodka tasting at the end of the tour and replaced it with another winery, just a thought! Our group was a fun bunch made the experience more enjoyable! Thanks Chris for stopping the van so I could take a picture of the kangaroos, you made the day complete! 🦘 💜😊

Excellent Tour

Excellent experience overall. Tour group was led by Mr Colin who was very professional and knowledgeable. He shared briefly on the history of hunter valley, the wine industry in Australia and the wine making process as well. He also spotted kangaroos for us for photo opportunities. Visited 3 Wineries for tasting (1 with cheese, 1 with chocolates and 1 just on its own), 1 Winery for lunch (wood fired pizzas) and 1 Distillery (Gins, Vodkas and Liqueurs). 1) Oakvale (Cheese) 2) Bimbadgen (Lunch) 3) Hunter's Dream Estate 4) Hunter Wine Lab (Chocolate) 5) Small Mouth Very pleasant experience at all of the locations. The drinks were great. Lunch at Bimbadgen was good too. Well worth the money as the trip includes the ride from Sydney to Hunter Valley and back. Highly recommend for those who like wines but not familiar with the area.

The wine teasting is good, we went to 3 winery and 1 Gin& vodka. The tour guide is professionals and very helpful . Worth of money for this trip.

Wine and dine the Hunter Valley

Beautiful wineries, tasty wine and food. Erin was an excellent tour guide running us through the wine making process and the unique Hunter Valley twist to wine making.

Awesome wine tour

Fantastic tour. Small group of 12 to Hunter Valley wine region. Visited 3 wineries, 1 distillery and another winery for a delicious lunch. Well worth the drive or off Sydney

Great guide

Marco our guide was great. Even brought us to see some kangaroos within the vineyards. We had a blast. Wish some of the winetasting took place outdoors to take advantage of the good weather though

A top trip to wine paradise!

Had the best time. It was pouring with rain all day but Col, our driver and guide, made it fun and interesting. Tasted some fab wines, along with divine pizzas, craft chocolate, interesting cheeses and a selection of colourful spirits. I was dreading the long drive but it was all good. Highly recommended.

Hunter valley experience

The tasting's were great. Our driver Patricia did not appear to know the areas very well and seemed inexperienced in driving the van. especially in the city traffic. We were also late to the first stop. She also was rude to a couple passengers. I would recommend the trip, however, not with this driver.

Great way to spend extra time in SYD

This tour was so fun. Our guide, Erin, was informative, friendly and kept us on schedule 😜. There were 11 people in our group, which was perfect. We had a great day sampling regional wines, cheese, chocolate and gin from the small, family run wineries in Hunter Valley. If you have a free day in Sydney, I highly recommend this trip.

Wine, cheese, chocolate? Yes please!

We took the Hunter Valley Small Group Wine, Gin & Cheese Tour from Sydney... what fun! This full day tour was an amazing and educational experience. It was great to get out of the city and explore the Hunter Valley wine region. Our guide (Greg) was so knowledgeable and entertaining, and the wineries and their staff were so engaging. Dave’s buses were comfortable for the transfer and all details were pre-arranged for us... we just had to show up and enjoy! I'd highly recommend!

Winery Tour

The wineries we visited were great. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide Ashley was wonderful as well. Great tour!

Long day but action packed

Brendan the tour guide?? unsure if this is right was a fantastic driver/guide. Gave some local knowledge and insight into the areas we visited. Met some first-class people with similar interests on the day. Long day but action packed. Visited a number of wineries, ate chocolate, sampled gin and had some cheese. Lunch was provided - rustic pizzas surrounded by great vistas of the valley under a pergola of vines

Boutique wineries!

Loved the boutique wineries and hearing the passion of the winemakers. The scenery was fantastic, the lunch spot was beautiful and had great pizzas! Erin was a wonderful guide We did not care a lot for the distillery portion as it didn’t have the boutique feel and didn’t discuss much about their process. Lots of flavored spirits, and a couple were pretty good.

The Hunter Valley experience

If you love nature and into agriculture business, this place will surely satisfy your sense. The different types of grapes they plant and directly processed into different kinds of wine. The place has also restaurants and stores offering a variety of products, from olive products to artisanal chocolates. My son hired a stretch limousine which brought us to different places with in the valley. It’s a huge farm and owned by different persons. The locals and other tourist flock to this place during christmas time.9

Fun and good value for money

Very fun day and good value for money. Collin was a great guide with a fun personality making the trip more enjoyable. Would highly recommend.

Perfect Day Trip from Sydney!

What a spectacular day! The Dave for the day, Greg, was a phenomenal guide. He was funny, knowledgeable, and kept the group engaged. The day went Wine, Wine Lunch, Distillery, Wine - so much fun! The vineyards had great tastings, the distillery was very fun. The wine pairing with chocolate was not to be missed. Couldn't have asked for a better day!

Excellent value wine tour

I had a fantastic time on this tour - excellent value for money in terms of wineries visited! Patricia was a very accommodating guide who even helped us to go out and look for kangaroos. The lunch was delicious and I was impressed that it was included completely in the price with wine at the venue. No surprise extra costs, it is a long day out but a great way to see the hunter valley

Wonderful Saturday in Hunter Valley with Colin

Enjoyed the day with superlative and organized guide Colin! Our group of 19 included guests from New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, Japan, and the United States. We stopped first at Oakvale for a comprehensive range of tastings led by Aiden. Then, a lovely al fresco lunch at Bimgaden for wood-fire pizza, salad, and their citrus-forward 2023 Growers Semillon (their building looked like Robert Mondavi in Oakville, California). Then, the large group was split in half for a chocolate tasting at Hunter Wine Lab and a wine and cheese pairing at McCaffrey Estates with the affable Chris. Our final stop was at a unique shimmering gin and vodka offering at Small Mouth, which resulted in “polarizing” opinions but good fun nonetheless. Chris was accessible, accommodating, and even found some wild ‘roos for us to capture photos! We made it safely back to Sydney on time at 7pm as advertised, despite a bit of traffic. Well done, Dave’s Tour and Colin!

A fab time in hunter valley with Patricia!

Myself and my friend had a wonderful time on the hunter valley wine tour today. We had Patricia as our tour guide and she was the best! We even got to see kangaroos - the tour was so amazing we would definitely recommend to anyone looking to visit hunter valley!!

A Great Introduction to The Hunter

A really great experience. Colin was a very personable and approachable guide. He clearly had a lot of experience in terms of his knowledge of the Hunter region, but also of the most effective way to run the tour. A great day out, that serves as a good overview of the region and it's producers. Basically, if you don't know the region, do this tour and it will arm you for further adventures. Just write things down, as you'll be sleeping on the return journey.

Terrific tour

Our driver/guide Colin was excellent. The pickup and drop off was stress free and we thoroughly enjoyed the wineries and distillery. Lunch was an assortment of brick oven pizzas and salad, all of which were very good. We would definitely recommend this tour

Fun and Informative Tour with Quality Food and Wine

I enjoyed this tour quite a bit. Marco, the driver and guide, was friendly and receptive to our questions about both Sydney and Hunter Valley. We stopped at three boutique wineries. Each featured a sampling of good-quality reds and whites. There was also a cheese and chocolate tasting at two of the wineries which provided a nice complement to the wines. Lunch consisted of a trio of fantastic pizzas, a hearty salad and some refreshing sparkling wine at an Italian restaurant. The only part of the day that was underwhelming was the flavored gin and vodka tasting. The products were too treacly for me. I highly recommend this tour for those wishing to spend a day outside of Sydney.

Great day in Hunter Valley

Really enjoyed our visits to some excellent wineries. The tastings were fun and informative. We especially liked visiting the smaller vineyards and the pairings with lunch, cheese and chocolate. Highly recommend this tour.

Great way to spend a summer day!

I enjoyed the entire day! The wineries were beautiful, the wines were all very good and the winery hosts were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Lunch was so good and the wines served with lunch were exceptional. I loved the wine and cheese pairings, and the wine & chocolates were perfectly paired. The vodka, gin and liqueur distillery was a perfect way to end the day in AUSTRALIA’s wine country. I will definitely buy a few bottles of the vodka and the liqueurs at the duty free shops at the Sydney airport on my return flight to the States. Lastly, our tour guide was friendly, very knowledgeable and was a great driver! Thank you for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this tour.

Great day out.

It was a long ride from Sydney to the Hunter Valley in a not very comfortable minivan. However, the actual visits to the wineries and distillery were worth it. Very informative and entertaining. The trip back seemed a lot shorter. Our driver, Jackson, looked after well and was very knowledgable about the area.

Boring.

Tour operate was not entertaining. Didn’t speak much. Wineries were great. Marci the driver wasn’t good at all.

Lots of great wine

Loved all the wineries but especially the chocolate and Wine pairing. Our hostess Erin was absolutely wonderful.

FANTASTIC

Erin is absolutely FAB .From sourcing the BEST coffee before we even left to dropping us off close to our accommodation on return . We had such an enjoyable relaxing day in lovely company. All our questions were answered and there was NO feeling of being rushed . I would thoroughly recommend . Just sorry we didn't book rocks ( pub ) tour also but we ran out of days

great wines!! good lunch, great chocolate!!

Great tour, good wines, lunch was nice and so was the chocolate tasting!! Saltire was my favourite vineyard as the wine was great and i wish i’d bought more!! and seeing a mob of wild roos was a nice treat! oakfield was good also and the wine guy was really good!! the only thing was i think i could have got the tour cheaper and the last two vineyards served the same types of wine! the chocolate pairing was nice, but the musk chocolate!!🥴 but all in all i had a good day!

Great guide and wines but Groucho big and can very uncomfortable.

Collin was a wonderful guide. We were were pleasantly surprised at the variety of tasting offered. Not so happy that the group was much larger than the small group advertised, more like 30. And the can was uncomfortably cramped with 28 people in a van that should have been for 15. Also some of the baristas were decidedly unfriendly. The one at Hunter Wine Lab was extremely rude. Tellling travelers to shut up is unacceptable.

Hunter Valley winery tours

This was a wonderful experience. I would have given it 5 stars if the driver/guide had talked about the scenery/Australia on the drive to the wineries. With that said, having a small group is the way to go. The wineries were fascinating as were the hosts. I would have preferred to skip the gin/vodka distillery and has another winery instead. Good experience for the money. I highly recommend it.

Great time on this tour!

Had a great time on the trip to Hunter Valley from Sydney. Our guide Marco was very friendly and personable and shared a lot of information about the local area, Australia, and wine making. We joined another couple and a woman from Taiwan to visit the wineries and distillery, including a variety of pizzas for lunch at a beautiful location. The trip to and from Sydney was long but seemed to go quickly. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this tour to our friends!

Enjoyable experience

Really enjoyed the small bus experience. Great choice of boutique wineries and interesting people very informative. Excellent pizzas at lunch in a beautiful place Dave (Colin) was great. It was a lovely day

The most disreputable tour we’ve ever experienced!

This was the most disreputable tour we’ve ever experienced. There is no small in the Hunter Valley SMALL group tour. In fact, our tour had twenty six participants most of which were picked up in Sydney, the remainder were pick up in Hunter Valley. The trip from Sydney to the first winery took 3 hrs on a most uncomfortable, crowded bus. Their website stated maximum of 14 passengers while we actually had twice as many. As a result of our complaint and that of others they amended the number the number on their website to maximum of 28. Very di organized with so many they had to ferry time from one site to another. Strongly suggest you skip this one, there are other alternatives!

Great experience

Greg was an amazing guide. Had lots of laughs and was overall a great experience especially for the first time in the area. The tour had a great range of wine and distilleries and a good lunch location.

Wine. chees, chocolate - a perfect day out

A really enjoyable day out in the Hunter Valley sampling wines that we would not otherwise have been able to find. Our guide Marco was excellent, and ensured the whole day ran smoothly and added a level of insight and humour to the experience. Would thoroughly recommend the trip to friends.

Cant get enough skittles

The day started with a fresh crisp morning. Meeting our tour guide Gregg, who was funny and 10/10 customer service. The trip was fun and enjoyable. 3 wineries plus a spirit and gin tasting room Lunch was awesome. It was a hot day 30+ .. great driving and air con at the back was good during the trip and back down! Would recommend this trip and company! Kudos to everyone. Andreas and Chloe xo

It was a long day but...

It was a long day but hitting a number of "mom and pop" wineries in the Hunter Valley was a lot more relaxed and fun than the mass market tastings in the Napa Valley. Pairings with chocolate and then cheese was a pleasant change and tasting/flavor opportunity. Very good driver/guide.

Nice Sneak Peak

Awesome way to get a sneak peak into the Hunter Valley. We very much enjoyed the day. If you want to see Kangaroos hopping around free…just go to the Hunter Valley they were everywhere.
