HJ gave us a fantastic introduction to Singapore

Our four hour tour with HJ gave us a fantastic introduction to Singapore. HJ was a great guide, thoughtful, happy and he clearly enjoyed sharing his extensive knowledge of Singapore with us. We visited many interesting places, had a super lunch in one of the hawker markets, walked some fascinating streets we would never have found on our own and learnt plenty about Singapore. Due to the extreme heat HJ kindly drove us in his new car to some of the sights which was a welcome relief. Thank you HJ for a wonderful afternoon.

Excellent Tour

My husband and I booked a very last minute 4 hour tour of the sights of Singapore with HJ it turned out to be a great decision. It was a superb tour hosted by super tour guide, Mr. Ronnie Tan. He is a true gentleman dedicated to his task and always went out of his way to accommodate our needs. Due to short time stay in Singapore, our guests could only enjoy this half day tour with Ronnie who explained every crook and cranny we came across during the tour, bringing an added interesting dimension to the experience. Best tour of Singapore !

Our Guide Monica was extremely flexible, she met us at a site of our choice, and then came earlier than planned since we had arrived early. She asked us what pace we wanted go at and listened to our request. Monica knew every short cut, every shaded walkway, and every air conditioned path we could take. We covered every major site, saw fantastic hotels, experienced a Buddhist service, and learned a lot of history along the way. Her english was excellent and she truly loved being a tour guide. We would STRONGLY suggest you book her for your Singapore Tour, it was worth every penny. After many years of international travel, we would say she was THE BEST tour guide we have ever had!!!! Great tour

We had a great day with Jossie in Singapore. She led us to unexpected locations and great views. She shared her broad knowledge about her hometown and gave useful hints and tips for enjoying Singapore the best way. We loved her stories about Singapore‘s history and the architectural features the town has to offer. We won‘t have been to all the spots Jossie led us to and enjoyed the time with her very much. Fantastic introduction to Singapore

Our 4 hour tour of Singapore with Grayson was great. He provided a very understandable review of its complicated history. He gave us a comprehensive tour of important sites including great neighborhoods and important sites not mentioned in the guide books or blogs. The Best of Singapore

Michelle Chen of Tours by Locals provided 4 older women an outstanding custom tour of Singapore. We were arriving by plane in the early morning and were due to check onto a cruise ship that afternoon in Singapore. Knowing that the time between the airplane and the cruise ship was the only time available to see Singapore, we engaged Michelle. She was waiting for us when we appeared in the Arrivals hall of the Airport and immediately engaged us by directing us to look at the famous airport waterfall and visit a restroom before we loaded our luggage in the van. We had a wonderful time. Balancing our desire to see as much as possible in the few hours we had with the needs of weary travelers was clearly thought through and managed well. The drive by through the center city worked well to be able to view the parliament, supreme court (old and new), various museums, the wonderful Raffles Hotel, the financial district, and the hotel district. We appreciated very much the photo stop at the Raffles and the details like the canoe on the top of the hotel. The drive gave us time to catch our breath and be ready to walk the waterfront area. Michelle was ready with umbrellas and paced our walk to the famous Merlion statute. The walk in Chinatown was just right to let us experience the area and learn about the nature of the Chinese New Year celebration, the kinds of food available like dorian fruit and dried sausages and whole dried ducks. The stop for tea and treats was a wonderful experience and timed just right to give us a moments rest. And the visit to the Buddhist temple and the garden stroll before the drop off at the ship's port terminal was lovely and very interesting. Michelle's excellent English, warm and charming personality, and considerate planning made her company easy and made this tour a delight and more than we could have hoped for particularly given the pressure of picking us up directly from 35 hours of flight travel. We finished feeling that we had some familiarity with Singapore, had learned a lot, and had a very good time. There is nothing about this tour experience I would change and Michelle has my highest recommendation for anyone seeking to experience Singapore.

Singapore is an amazing country and since we only had one and half days there, this tour really helped us see everything. Alex was very helpful and knowledgeable.

A Wonderful Tour

An excellent tour for my first day in Singapore. Leo was a great guide. Very knowledgeable about Singapore history, present day and future planning. Given the changes that have taken place in Singapore it was good to have a guide who was able to enlighten me on the changes to date and goals for the future. Enjoyed seeing the Merlion, having Chinese lunch, visiting Chinatown, tasting Mangosteen, visiting the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, and learning about Singapore history, ethnic groups and culture. One of our party had a disability and Ang showed true concern for accessibility and did a great job overall. A very enjoyable and educational experience.

Much effort into the visit - great tasting experience at hawkers food market sampled many traditional dishes very educational. Very savvy guide and fun!

Eliza was a very knowledgeable guide about the new and the old Singapore. She knew the history and guided us skillfully among her nooks and crannies of the City- State to show us views and perspectives of City planning and how they blended their historic buildings with their modern needs. She was resourceful and immensely cheerful as we toured on a rainy day but stayed dry and had a fun local lunch. What a great guide!

Joisse is Friendly Warm Knowledgeable Accommodating She took us on a walking tour (in the rain no less) and we did not miss a beat. She helped us plan the rest of our weekend and imparted invaluable information on local ways including GRAB which has given us complete freedom to roam around.

Outstanding Singapore Private Tour

We spent an amazing morning with Eliza covering around 4 miles on foot. She is incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of Singapore. We went in many of the buildings we had seen on our river tour the night before, but had the explanations and history now filled in. Eliza then took us for delicious chicken and rice in a Hawker market in Chinatown where we also enjoyed some tasty soursop juice. If you are lucky enough to end up on a tour with Eliza, you are guaranteed an excellent, informative, thoughtful and rewarding outing!!

Richard’s Great walking tour of Singapore

I cannot say enough good things about Richard’s amazing walking tour of Central Singapore. He is well versed in making sure you have an understanding of Singapore, it’s rich history and amazing culture. He has a couple of secrets up his sleeve that provides access to some of the most magical locations to take scenic pictures of this magical city. Singapore culture and history

This was the most informative and interesting tour of our three week vacation. Ang, our guide was one of the best we have ever had anywhere. He was so informative and enthusiastic! It is very apparent that he loves Singapore and is very passionate and knowledgeable about its culture. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect tour. Essential local knowledge

We opted to find ourselves a guide as we only had a short time in Singapore and wanted to learn as much as possible in the shortest time we could. We spent around 4 hours with Peter - he is so knowledgeable and we learned so much. We started with a quick review of the schedule and checked we were happy with that - it was of course spot on. We wasted no time and made our way around the city, Peter pointed out loads of things we just wouldn't have noticed. We cut through buildings where we'd get a quick story or background - also a quick blast of air conditioning which was welcome. We went out to a residential district where we went to a Hawker centre for lunch and then wandered around the area where we learned about the history. Took in China town and some key sights. We made our way back in to the main city learning about the historical water based trade and through various hotels, malls and on to the gardens by the bay. We just can't thank Peter enough for his time and knowledge and thoroughly recommend you hire him.

Non stop info and sightseeing

We met Ang on time at 10 am at the City Hall MRT station exit. He immediately sat us down and explained the history of Singapore from how the island got its name to the current day. That was the last sitting down except for lunch which we had at the Chinatown Complex and food centre. He explained the purpose of the food centre and bought a number of foods to try out until we were more than full Ang was very well organized and kept us going until 3 pm including visiting religious centers and a public housing building with a garden on its roof at the 50th floor. We also rode in taxis, on the bus and on the undergound.

Multi cultural city with Danny leading us was great

Our tour guide, Danny, was wonderful. He took us places we never would have found on our own and the BEST thing was he explained the meaning of what we saw and experienced. Grwat way to see pets of Singapore culture etc when you have a short stay.

Everything You Need To Know About Singapore

Our TourGuide was Ang, born and raised in Singapore. He met us promptly at the pre-arranged meeting spot, and proceeded to give us a wonderful, informative, and lively tour of the city for the next several hours. We visited all the favorite tourist spots, we sampled local foods and drink, and even were welcomed inside beautiful temples and mosques. Being a local native, Ang brought us to some very special places that only a resident would know about, and those places gave us a real feel of what it is like to be a Singaporean. It is plain to see that Ang loves Singapore. He gives tours as an enthusiastic hobby. Ang was very well prepared, polite, professional, knowledgeable, and he is bi-lingual. We will never forget Singapore, thanks to Ang !

A very very good experience

Richard is a very exzeptionell guide. He knows a lot of history of Singapore and knows a lot of hidden places. He is even a wildlife guide and was able to show us rare birds in the city. He has a good sense of humour and it was great having him as tourguide. He is also able to cope with the heavy rain showers and make us to forget it,alltough our clothes were soaked wet. I strongly recommend him as tourguide, if you want to have a great time.

We visited the colonial area, Singapore bay and Chinatown.

We walked to so many interesting areas and saw all the sights we’d hoped to. Our guide, Richard, was knowledgeable and very interesting. We learned so much along the way.

My teenage daughter and I had a great time with Monica. We learnt a lot, she showed us a great mix of places, showed us places to eat, gave background info and picked routes with a lot of airconditioned places. We also experienced a bus and a train ride. Thanks to her explanations we felt very confident to navigate the city after the tour. We definitely recommend a tour with Monica!

Excellent tour of Singapore with Kenny.

Kenny gave us an excellent tour of Singapore. He is knowledgeable and not only gives you info about what you see on tour but is also prepared and takes advantage of the short commuting time to give general info on Singapore. His experience on the tour he gave is obvious and the result was understandably excellent. Overall, Kenny was, among the 5 in total WithLocals guides we used at our SE Asia trip, the most professional and well prepared. Local snack, provided in the tour was nice but just a small bite, but Kenny was kind enough to pay for another treat, as we did not carry local money and we had a second snack at a nice place, though one of the few I guess in Singapore did not accept credit cards.

Amazing Tour of Singapore

Monica was absolutely amazing! She came and picked us up from our hotel and made us feel comfortable the entire time. When our tour began it was raining but Monica was able to take us all around the city and keep us dry with her expert navigation and intimate knowledge of Singapore. We really enjoyed our hidden gems Tour.We visited a lot of nice places and you will get into the culture and the history of Singapore. Leo was the perfect guide for us.He is an extremely friendly, funny and lovely guy.It’s such a good thing to meet someone who has that big knowledge about everything in Singapore.If you have just a few days in Singapore and you would like to know as much as you can about the city, you definitely need to do this tour with Leo.

Eliza Enchants

We met our ‘with locals’ tour guide at a local cafe just near the Marina Bay Sands hotel where we were staying. Upon meeting Eliza she abounded with enthusiasm about our next four hours together. Her demeanor was warm and inviting as if she was meeting old friends in for a holiday. She mapped out a route that included local historical sites, food hoker markets and museums. Her knowledge about her home country was astute as she answered all of our questions with the skill and precision of a rock climber scaling the face of a mountain. As we went all over the city to each site she was met with smiles and hospitality by each establishment, the sign of a great host well liked by her peers. She ushered us through Singapore’s underground transportation with ease, never skipping a beat and what an amazing system they have! At the end of our tour she was kind and gracious, having taken the time to walk us back to our hotel. She offered a hug upon our goodbyes and we gladly obliged for after just four hours with Eliza, she had enchanted us and we left feeling we would certainly see her again. We highly recommend booking her. You won’t be disappointed. PS bring a small hand towel, the humidity is a killer!

Strolling in the Heat!

I did a tour with Kenny on a day that was hotter than the hinges of Hell. However, it was well worth it, and I gained a lot more appreciation for a wonderful place that I had visited only once before. Kenny is very knowledgeable about Singapore. He did a great job of weaving history, diversity, cultural values, and policy objectives into a coherent and fascinating description of Singapore. Conversation was easy and enlightening while visiting some fascinating places and sampling the local culture and cuisine. Walking tour of Singapore

We toured with Ronnie and had a wonderful time. He took us to many sights including neighborhoods we would never have gone to on our own. He was extremely well informed about the history and culture of Singapore. He also showed us how to get around on the metro which came in very handy later in the week. Fantastic Tour with HJ

We had a great tour with HJ yesterday. We feel so lucky to have had HJ as our tour guide. He took us all over Singapore - way too many places to list. He was knowledgeable and interesting and tailored our tour to our interests. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do the tour on our first or second day of our visit to Singapore, but I am so glad we did it on our first day. sightseeing with HJ was fun and efficient; he was able to get us from place to place quickly so we saw and learned a lot. He's a great communicator and gave us wonderful suggestions for our remaining days in Singapore. I highly recommend HJ and will definitely book him again the next time we're in Singapore.

Walking Dead

Extremely unhappy with the service. Waited for the guide at a train station for 45 minutes, no one a viator could be reached. Finally got the tour guide, and he said he was somewhere else......he choose the location to meet at! Then ended the tour an hour early. Viator stated it wasn't their problem that there was confusion... No confusion, you gave me the place to go and I went there... Avoid this tour.
