We had a short overlay in Singapore with 6 hours. The decision to have Johns Singapore by night tour, was just perfect. We met John at 7pm at the happy Chinatown district. We walked through streets , markets, pedestrian areas where the citizens of Singapore take at night a short break. We had some food in an special market and continued our tour by having a short ride by underground to the Bay Area. At this place we watched a special moment what was thrilling. After that we went to the sand hotel , mall to finish there the tour after 3 hours. John was prepared with all things you might need during the tour. Mosquito spray, hand tissue, a blanket, water and so on. We were traveling as family with three teenagers, what complaint before and where amazed after the tour. John made it just great, to get an impression how Singapore is at night. We deeply suggest John and his tours , cause he just focused on that what was needed.

Nice evening tour with Grayson

Grayson’s tour was very good. Communication before the tour was excellent and the tour was well scheduled and interesting. Satay snack, provided with the tour was excellent and in sufficient quantity to feed a family of four. Overall, Paul is a very nice, polite person and is his tour is absolutely recommended.

Kenny is a WONDERFUL guide

Intelligent, informed with excellent communication skills, our "Magical Evening in Singapore: City Tour" was one just that. Kenny is a very intelligent man, well versed in the history and culture of Singapore. As we moved from one part of the city to the next, he was able to explain and answer all our questions about this fascinating "City State". It all culminated with the Gardens by the Bay, light show, truly a magical experience. Thank you Kenny for teaching us so much about Singapore and taking such good care of us.

Never did the tour due to representative not in the agreed meeting place cost £154.04

We never made this tour as Kenny didn’t firstly send me his details the day before with his phone number Then instead of meeting at the top of the stairs outside Chinatown exit A as per our instructions He decided to wait outside a shop called Bee Cheng Hiang Which he sent a text to say he was there But that did not come through on my phone until I got back to our hotel Plus as I said he never sent me his phone number so I couldn’t ring him! We were where we were told to be !! I wasted 2 hours of our time getting across to Chinatown and back and never got our tour!! Therefore I would expect a full refund on this! We always book with Viator and this is the first time you have let us down but we were very disappointed.None of which was our fault I assume I will hear from you soon as we are now back in the uk Many thanks Charles Leeman booking no #938273438 booked for Sunday 15th of January 6.30pm

Don't waste your money or time...

Ronnie was nice and knowledgeable. He also interacted well with my kids. But the tour is not as advertised. - We did not get any Chinese snacks. - We did not get 3 Satay tastings (just a few sticks with the tiniest bits of charred chicken on them). - The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple was not visited at all... the guide pointed at it from across the street (you could just see the top of the building). - You could barely see or hear the light/water show at Marina Bay. We left before it was even over because it was that bad. Honestly, other than the street art and interesting history... the tour was a complete waste.

Truly magical

Ronnie was a great guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about Singapore. We had a great time, would definitely recommend this tour. We have been to Singapore a few times (always staying in Chinatown) but we learned a lot really interesting things and went to New hawker centres.

Singapore at Night

Jack was a great guide. He was very flexible in the planning of the tour. We met him in Chinatown and had a good walk through the area. We were in one of the shops looking at black tea and Jack got my attention. He thought it might be a bit expensive. He said he would drop some off at our hotel in the morning. Jack was funny, I explained to him that my name was uncommon and I was surprised to see it at one of the stands written in Chinese. I told him we had bought one. He said, you tell me how many you want, I'll write it for you. We walked around the lesser known streets of Chinatown and headed toward the Central District of Singapore to BBQ Street. This is where all the Satay vendors line up with their foods. Jack picked out some good food for us to try. Then because of the Corona virus the original night show had been suspended. So we went to the Gardens by the Bay to see the light show of the Super Trees. Jack was an awesome guide and a new friend in Singapore

Great Tour - Highly Recommend (just be sure to nail down meeting spot)

My wife and I (middle-agers) brought her parents (early 80s) and young adult children to Singapore. We wanted to do a tour the first day to get a sense for the city and insider perspective on what we should do with our three-day stay. Thumbs up on this tour. Our guide was Raymond, and he was simply stellar -- energetic, knowledgeable, adaptable, earnest, and incredibly helpful. He took us threw ChinaTown and some of the nearby neighborhoods. He was able to speak Mandarin to my in-laws and English to the rest of the family. Highly recommend Raymond! Because my in-laws couldn't walk as far as the planned tour, Raymond changed things up and we ended up sitting at a hawker food stall place where Raymond helped us find good food. We sat and talked about the city and things to do during our vacation. Couple of important posts -- the information I received about the meeting spot said meet at Chinatown MRT station. Please ensure you get more detailed description in advance on where to meet. There are numerous entrance/exits to this station spread out over a large geographic area. We spent a very stressful 30-40 minutes trying to find our guide requiring multiple phone calls with tour company HQ (Netherlands). Do no make this mistake!! Also, this is NOT a food tour. Although we knew this in advance, we thought there would be more opportunity for sampling/eating so we were starved by the time we requested a change in the plan. So please eat in advance. Lastly, there is a lot of walking on the plan for this tour. I wish we had reached out in advance to see if we could modify the tour to have more breaks to sit and talk. My mistake, not the tour or guide. I'm sure they would have accommodate us. All in all, a very good tour and highly recommend. Especially Raymond!

Highlight of our Singapore trip

We wanted a tour that would give us some history of Singapore, show us some of the lesser known spots with some food tasting. We met Ronnie in China town and he showed us around, giving us a history. We found the whole evening very informative and great fun with Ronnie. We were introduced to some food in China town and then went on to watch the laser show at a vantage point. We ended the trip with street food satay tasting which was so good we went back there the following night for our evening meal. We would highly recommend Ronnie who is very knowledgeable and great fun to be with. This was the highlight of our trip to Singapore.

An Interesting & Easy going Tour

We had a great time seeing Chinatown and hearing about its rich history. Our tour guide, Ronnie, was super friendly and made the whole experience even more fun. The food tasting was a huge plus as well. Definitely recommend this tour!

Fantastic tour!

We really enjoyed this tour with our guide Ronnie! He was excellent at showing us around and giving us a knowledge of background on how Singapore developed. He was fun and answered all of our questions. We walked in Chinatown and got to try some local food. We really got to see how beautiful Singapore is at night! I highly recommend this tour with Ronnie if you are ever in Singapore!!

Jack is Brilliant!

Jack is phenomenal! My sister and I chose Jack after other reviews that I had read. I read that he was funny, intelligent, and really makes a great time for those who are touring around with him - and those reviews were spot on! He really knows his stuff about the local temples, wall art in Chinatown and can easily crack a joke at anything. He goes fast enough to keep the tour going, but slow enough to answer any questions that we had. He makes it interactive, too. He doesn't just talk and talk about the things that you see - he pull you into conversation and asks you what you may think something is, or why something may be the way that it is. Jack is incredibly sweet and gave us an experience worth well more than our money. Whenever in Singapore, we'll make sure to have enough time for another tour with Jack.

Night Tour

Excellent evening spent with our tour guide Cynthia. Very interesting see the local sights and tasting local foods. We even went back to sample the food and visit the area again a few days later. Cynthia was very friendly and obviously enjoyed sharing Chinatown with us. We even saw some of the back streets of Chinatown on our walks. Would highly recommend this tour

Wonderful Evening in Singapore with the Storyteller of Singapore

The true Storyteller of Singapore. Ronnie was an amazing tour guide and host. As we arrived on a cruise ship we weren't exactly sure at what time we would be able to meet...up front, Ronnie provided some latitude in the start time and in fact we did start 30 minutes earlier than planned. Ronnie is a wealth of local knowledge and provided us with a very comprehensive history of Singapore. Ronnie told us at the start of the tour that it was impossible to fit everything in to the two hour tour window and asked if we had any issues with it going longer...of course not. It turned into a 3 hour tour. We walked at a very leisurely pace as one of us was recovering form a knee injury, and at no time did we feel rushed. Ronnie pointed out many points of interest and historical markers which have been set up within Chinatown specifically, and as it turns out all over Singapore. If we had not done the tour we would not have been aware of these features and would have missed out on many facts and information of a historical perspective. As it turned out I had set up a self tour for a couple of days later while we were in Singapore; however, the tour Ronnie had set up hit all the points of interest we had predetermined we wanted to see. We redid the walk the next day in the daylight and were able to expand on the info Ronnie had provided. I highly recommend the tour, and Ronnie specifically. It turns out Ronnie is a professional tourist guide by day, and just loves to share his knowledge of the city by night. He is an enthusiastic and energetic person, as well as a great conversationalist. He provided many tips that helped us enjoy our stay in Singapore. When we return to Singapore, and we will return, Ronnie will be on our list for another tour.

A waste of time and money

Booked a "tour" with Jack as our guide during the Chinese new year. The evening got off to a bad start due to incomplete instructions where to meet.(There are 2 entrances to Exit A which was the assigned meeting point).anyhow we eventually met up and commenced the tour with a brief walk through Chinatown stopping a minute or so for a quick snack and a beer that never arrived. very little commentary along the way which was understandable given the crowd. Then a slow walk past an historic mural (interesting) to a long wait for the Amazing Light Show, not in the "hidden place away from tourists that only your guide knows" as advertised but in the middle of the 5 deep crowd. Not much talking or interesting information throughout the tour. At the end of the Light Show we managed to find a taxi by ourselves and left with a feeling that we had wasted our time and money. Cannot recommend.

Cultural and fun night in Singapore

Booked a tour with "Withlocals" and Jack Zhao in Singapore this past Dec 20th. As our flight came in mid-afternoon we booked an early evening tour. Our family of four, two children, met Jack at the China Town Metro station. NOTE: if you meet a guide at he this metro station pay attention to the exit letters, there are 5 of them A through E. And each is a few minutes walk from another. Jack took us around Chinatown, gave us an excellent history of this part of Singapore. Though the temples were closed we visited several and Jack gave us a great education on the symbolism used on the temples. I learned a lot about Tigers, Dragons, and Lions. At 9:00pm Jack lead us to the outdoor water show. This was wonderful, best we've seen. Even though our time was up I asked Jack if he would guide us to the top of the "Boat" hotel, which he did. NOTE: you need to pay a fee to get to the top but views at night are worth the price. Overall Jack made our one evening in Singapore a special night. I would recommend Jack.

Excellent tour, excellent guide

We booked May Ling for a two hour Singapore By Night Tour. It was a fantastic tour covering the history of Singapore, the sights, smells and tastes of Chinatown and the light show at the marina. May Ling was the perfect guide - friendly, informative and fun. We would highly recommend May Ling as your guide.

Fantastic Night Tour

May Ling was a fantastic tour guide and took us on a terrific night tour of Chinatown followed by seeing the light show at Marina Bay Sands. She strategically kept us under shelter most of the tour while still showing us some amazing sights and having us taste delicious local foods. She even loaned us an umbrella! I would highly recommend May Ling to anyone wishing to see an up close and personal tour of Singapore.

Great Tour with Ronnie!

I was in Singapore for a few nights during a recent stopover and decided to do a walking tour. What a GREAT TIME I had with Withlocal tour guide Ronnie! We walked through Chinatown and ended in Marina Bay area seeing many places, snacking local foods, and learning the history and changes that have made Singapore the amazing place it is today. Also visiting places and eating at places that tourists don't normally see or get to. Ronnie was an exceptional host with a bright, bubbly personality which made this tour so much fun and enjoyable. Fabulous tour of Singapore and tasty treats!

Just have experienced the culinary delights of Singapore with Anthony who was very informative of Singapore’s history and it’s cultures, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is a first time visitor to Singapore. Anthony kindly walked us back to our hotel and gave us extra information of places to see in Singapore.

Wonderful tour!

We had a wonderful tour of Chinatown with Jack Zhao. He is a great host - entertaining, cheerful, informative and helpful.I especially enjoyed seeing places where tourists normally don’t go. I would happily take another tour with Jack. So glad I discivered Withlocals, will be back.

Walking tour

May provided a very informative historical outline of Singapore and took us to areas we would never have visited. She is very personable and friendly. The four of us in the group came away from the tour better educated and appreciative of the trials and tribulations of those who moved to Singapore in the early days.

Family night tour in Singapore

Very fun guided tour! Gia is amazing!

Gia was such an enthusiastic guide who knew so many little things about the city and the food. We went around Chintatown with her and she was always open to our many questions. To top it all, she's really funny! Had us in splits! I'd definitely recommend her to anyone looking to find a top guide in Singapore!

Ronnie Rocked

Can’t say enough about Ronnie showing us the town and answering all our questions in an entertaining fashion. We ended the night at an outdoor hawker center area and had an incredible meal per his suggestion. Out first night in Singapore Started off on the right foot because of him.

We did this tour on 2nd July on our second night in Singapore and it exceeded all expectations, thanks largely to our wonderful guide ,Gia. Her effervescent personality, her knowledge of the details and historical significance of the places we visited and her passion for her home country were all very evident. This made for a very entertaining and enjoyable evening as we wandered the streets and back lanes of Chinatown and then the Marina Bay Area to see the breathtaking views by night.Stopping for some tasty hawker food at Satay Street was one of the many highlights. Gia constantly gave us very useful information and tips along the way,to further guide us during the remainder of her holiday. We highly recommend this tour and if you have the opportunity to meet Gia you will have found a real gem.

Great Tour

We did the Magical Singapore by Night Tour with Ronnie and he was great. Ronnie was a wealth of knowledge and was very friendly, he showed us a few hidden gems and even walked us back to the MRT station so we could find our way back to our accommodation. If you want an interesting way to understand Singapore do this tour, if we had more time we would have done another tour withlocals.

Sie führte uns an phantastische Stellen und Plätze der Stadt, die wir ohne Cynthia niemals gefunden hätten. Dabei berichtete sie über die Historie und über die aktuelle Situation der Stadt. Unterwegs bestand an verschiedenen Stellen die Möglichkeit, lokale Spezialitäten und Getränke zu kosten. Wir werden diese genialen Eindrücke und das nette Wesen Cynthias niemals vergessen.
