The best part of the tour was the graciousness, knowledge and enthusiasm of Jin Choi, the CEO of the company and our tour guide.

Wonderful evening adventure

We had a wonderful experience with our guide, Jai. We explored little alley ways we would never have been brave enough to go down on our own and started our evening in a traditional ‘after work’ hangout. Jai took us to more hidden gems and gave us lots of insight into Korean culture as we walked through the instagram worthy streets of Insadong. We also picked up recommendations for places to try in future and I hope to do one of her cooking classes next time we come to Seoul.

Why were Korean chop sticks made of silver?

After reading the La Jolla Mum blog I booked this experience expecting great food and an entertaining evening. Young and Da made the evening much more than that. We went to quirky venues to enjoy authentic Korean food and drinks. We certainly wouldn’t have found these venues on our own. We were part of a big group - but this certainly didn’t impact on our enjoyment. Having a son in Australia of approximately Young’s age, we exchanged ideas on life for his generation in Korea now and in Australia - something that doesn’t usually come with an evening of eating and drinking with new acquaintances. Da was a special treat too - with such a good sense of humour. Of course I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys food. The interesting and entertaining guides were such a bonus. As for my introductory heading...well you will have to take this food tour to find out!

Enjoyable couple's night out with guide

My wife and I had a great time with our host Lynn. She was a gracious, friendly, intelligent, and warm host. She provided us a so many great insights into Korean culture and cuisine. We only had a limited time in Seoul, so this was a great opportunity for us to eat some great food, and be exposed to the Korean food scene. Had sooo much good food and drink - it was delicious! Fun Tour

First things first, K (Kim) is a great and knowledgeable guide. He's really fun and funny. As for the tour, walking around the back alley's of Insadong to local eateries that I would have never looked for is really fun. More so with the small group of people, who by the end of the 3 hours of eating, drinking and walking around, they're more like your friends than just strangers that you met on a tour. The food is pretty "straight forward" Korean food, so nothing that will intimidate or "gross-out" the average person; thus, if you're looking for "challenging" Korean food, like live octopus, this is not that sort of tour. That said, it's just about the food, it's about the company, and this tour is a lot of fun.

A five star tour with Helen

The guide, Helen showed her love for food and cooking which added to the great experience as she could talk about the ingredients in each dish and their place in Korean cooking while we tried several of the local specialties. The places they had picked were smaller local places with great atmosphere down side streets. This was a great option to try several local foods in places I would not have found on my own.

Amazing experience! So much fun!

We had the best time with Lynn and our small group for the food tour. She was extremely knowledgeable about the food as well as the drinks we were sampling. Lynn went over Korean culture and the connections to the food we were eating. We learned so much during this tour not to mention the amazing food we sampled. We hope to be able to tour again!

Wonderful food tour for someone traveling solo

I really enjoyed this food tour as it was a great way to experience Korean food without the anxiety of going into a restaurant all by myself. I would've been fine if this group was full, as long as I got to try new food and drinks, but since my group was just one other couple and the tour guide, it was nice and easy to have good conversation. Lynn was very helpful and knowledgeable with the food, drink, and history and was wonderful to talk with. I would definitely recommend this food tour to my friends and colleagues!

Great tour of the small side street restaurants

The tour was very professionally run and even though there was problems with getting enough people for the Friday tour, the tour company was good at communicating and rescheduling to next Monday. The places we went to for food all had a good almost retro like atmosphere. The guide who lead the group was very kind and she told the group many interesting stories about the food, the drink, and her experiences. I think she did a great job of taking a group of strangers and having them bond over food and drinks. Thank you Ongo for this experience!

Amazing Tour Guide

My wife and I were only in Korea for the weekend and we decided to do a food to tour. Lynn was our tour and she was AWESOME. She explained each dish to and shared some Korean History with us. The food and drinks were GREAT and Lynn made sure we had a excellent time.

Fun night with Young!

My friend and I did this tour on our last night in Seoul. There were five of us including Young. He was very fun and informative. My favorite were the Soju Bombs! I will definitely do this tour again the next time I'm in Seoul!

Very fun tour with great guide!

We did this food tour as part of a business trip to Seoul. Our group had 7 people. Our guide, Young, was terrific! He explained everything well and was very friendly. He even took us to karaoke after the official tour was complete because we'd said we wanted to try it in Seoul! Everyone had a great time!

An amazing foodie tour! Great tour guide!

It was an awesome foodie tour! Lynn was super friendly and an amazing tour guide! She explained every single dish in teaching us the Korean history and culture! The food selection was great as Lynn showed us a few special drinks as well! Gamsa Hamnida Lynn!

Love to experience local food.

I was with 6 others in the group. Our group guild was friendly, fun and a foodie. Enjoyed the the variety of restaurants and the food market. It's easy to bond in a small group and experience the amazing food.

Young is an amazing food tour guide!

Fresh off a 13 hour flight from SF, we were 15 minutes late meeting Young. Not bothered in the least, he led us through the streets and veered deep down an alley off the main thoroughfare. A few minutes later, started off with a bottle of rice makgulli and kimchi/potatoe pancake in a hole in the wall we would have never found. Second stop was the headliner: Korean BBQ and it didn’t disappoint. We had Soju Bombs to start and enjoyed the pork belly over the grill. As we continued on to have rice cakes and maple gelato, Young provided numerous insights throughout that made the first day in Seoul a welcome one. If you want a genuine Korean experience, please book the food tour and ask for Young, he won’t disappoint!

Amazing night with Young

Young was very gracious and helpful. We had a blast with him. We saw areas of Seoul and had food that we never otherwise would have tried. He has great command of the english language and is very smart and a great conversationalist. It’s a was an amazing night on the town, where we learned new things, tried new foods, saw new places and made new friends. I would definitely recommend doing the tour. He even then followed up with an email giving us recommendations and ideas for things to try and do the next day.

Much more than food

Cindy does a terrific job finding off-the-beaten-path restaurants that offer traditional Korean food, and she explains it all very well. Moreover, the conversation can be interesting in a wide range of subjects regarding Korean life. Definitely worthwhile.

Authentic Korean Cuisine

We visited a total of 4 food stops and were stuffed by the end of it - each could have been a meal by itself (and paired a different local brew too). Good to do if you’re travelling alone or in a pair, as dining in these numbers usually limits variety/options. Quality of food was excellent, a true taste of Seoul! A special shoutout to our guide Helen, who was so fun and friendly!

This tour was great as an introduction to the great food on offer in Seoul. The range of meals and beverages was good and Young was a brilliant and enthusiastic guide.

Delicious Variety of Foods and Places to Eat

We really enjoyed the restaurant and food selections for our tour tonight. They were all in places we would have never found ourselves. It gave us the opportunity to try many food items we haven't had previously. Our guide, Young, was very good at explaining the items to us. Seoul is so full of many tucked away places. It was nice to have a local guide us through the food maze. The food and the company were great. We recommend.

Super nice Food and Guide

Had a very nice evening with our guide Young, he was very nice and open to answer any questions we had. We really loved the food. We would have loved to learn more about the districts we visited though (we expected that as the food tours we did in Germany were like that). Still, the guide and the food were very nice!

Nice paced tour - good food

Young did a good job navigating 10 of us in the group through narrow streets and fun food and drink stops. I’m a carnivore and there was plenty of selection. The key was to pace yourself since there are alcoholic beverages served at most stops. I would recommend this highlights tour.

Enjoyable evening in Seoul

This tour is ideal for couples, groups etc interested in enjoying the culinary highlights of Korea. Our tour guide, Mr Young, was truly a delight. He skillfully shepherded our group from each restaurant. Each location has one signature dish prepared, and you’re eating pretty much upon sitting down. The quantity of food is sufficient, I didn’t leave each restaurant too full or too hungry.

Fantastic tour with Mr. Young

This is a truly fantastic way to experience several delicious treats while in Seoul. Our tour guide, Mr. Young, was a true delight! He skillfully took our small group (10 people) to several restaurants. Upon arrival, we ate many delicious foods including kimchi pancakes, bbq pork belly, and gelato. Definitely would recommend to young couples

Luxury meal tour for short-stay solo tourists

With group eating in mind, the portion of Korean food is too much for a single person. This groumet tour enables you to eat three different kinds of traditional Korean food as well as alcohol. Very efficient.

Good food, good drinks, excellent company

My husband and I joined our tour guide, Young and three other visitors for this delicious and fun tour of eateries tucked into the back alleys of Insadong. We visited three restaurants each specializing in a different traditional Korean food and had a drink paired to the food at each place. We finished off the tour with gelato - I tried the Blue Moon Pale Ale flavor, in keeping with the practice of drinks with food, which was actually quite good. Everyone else went with a more traditional fruit flavor. Young was an interesting and engaging guide and good companion.

Fortunately our guide Chris waited for us as we were stuck in traffic. We tried a range of Korean food and drink around Jongno in a convivial atmosphere

So much fun!

This tour blew me out of the water! So much fun with our tour guide Brad. Took us to the most authentic places that we would’ve never found on our own. Fantastic food, great drink pairings and we learned so much about real Korean culture. Definitely recommend!

Unreal

Brad is the most electric tour guide I’ve ever had. Took us on journey through flavor town; east, west, north, and south. Korean fried chicken was my fave. k-bbq was a fine experience as well. Best thing of all though? The company! This crew got along like drunken old friends. Book this and get yourself a good time!

Best food tour!

Came here to get nourishment but in the end the real nourishment was the friends I made along the way. Brad is my hero and made my first night in Seoul the most memorable of them all. This is not to miss!

Best food tour experience in Seoul

Booked this tour solo but it was much more than a tour. Brad was a great tour guide and knew the best places for food. In addition, he explained the importance of the food in Korean culture. Not only was the your guide great, this tour attracted amazing people.

Best Food Tour in Seul

We really enjoyed this tour, Cindy our guide, was awesome. She explained is all about the Korean food, why Korean people enjoy so much to have dinner, drinks and karaoke. The tour include a 4 course dinner, from the kimchi pancakes, Korean BBQ, Chicken and beer to a delicious dessert. She showed us the most popular neighborhood in Seoul to hangout with friends and have fun. The group was fantastic, we actually hang out all together at the end of the tour. So we really enjoyed it.

Soju bombs and good food, what else do we want?

Got a spot last minute:) Bradley walked 5 of us around the night (with a trainee, was cool to have 2 locals to talk to). Great choices for places to go, good info on a broad range of stuff (food, customs, random questions), nice soju bombs and overall great entertainment. Group thoroughly enjoyed themselves, thanks Bradley!

So much more than just the food

Went on this tour with my 20yr old daughter so not strictly a teenager but can be picky and selective in what she eats, not least because she’s allergic to shellfish! Did this on our second evening and struggled to find it with our google maps so maybe use naver to navigate. It was a fantastic introduction by our guide Brad to Korean food and drink and especially some of the alcohol that I wanted to try but never knew where to start including rice wine and soju. The food was so tasty and plentiful and I’d struggle to choose my personal favourite between the kimchi pancake and Korean bbq bulgogi. Not very Korean admittedly, but feeling adventurous we concluded at a Gelato shop where I had the tomato which was almost as interesting as the mashed potato sampled by another member of the group. Brad’s English was fantastic and almost on a par with his knowledge and delivery of lots of interesting facts, helpful advice and tourist suggestions. Can thoroughly and wholeheartedly recommend this tour as money and time well spent.

Great intro to Seoul and Korean food

Really enjoyable tour of 4 places to get taste of Korean food. Korean pancakes, Korean barbecue, rice cakes and ice cream are the highlights and are all tasty. I had potato ice cream, tastes like mashed potatoes but with great ice cream texture. The tomato ice cream was great too. Our guide Brad (I think that's not his Korean name....) was great. There was also plenty to drink, soju, plum wine and beer.

I won't eat again for days..

Typhoon Lingling did not deter Chris, our awesome guide, from providing us with an amazing insight into Korean food and culture. Chris was an expert at explaining to us the history around the dishes we were eating (which were all absolutely delicious) and how to eat them, and he was also very happy to take our questions and provide a more detailed understanding of life in Korea and Korean customs and traditions. Chris took care of everything, and made sure we did not go home hungry! I'm not sure if I need to eat again until next week! You will not regret taking this tour. Ask for Chris.

Wonderful tour!

I was doing a solo trip to Seoul and booked this tour, and it was so great! Our group was with Cindy, we went to several restaurants and everything was delicious. We had kimchi pancakes, rice wine, Korean BBQ, soju, sweet&spicy chicken, beer, and all the various side dishes. Really enjoyed this tour and the group that was there that night.

Fun Evening

Cindy was an excellent guide. She introduced us to many Korean dishes and drinks and taught us about the culture. She also changed the itinerary to suit our preferences. The others on the tour were delightful company and added to the fun.

Food Tour So Much Fun

Helen took us to four restaurants and introduced us to many kinds of Korean foods and some traditional Korean wines. We liked 3 of them but the third restaurant needs to be replaced since several of the tour members thought the food was average and I did not think cats walking all over the dining tables was sanitary. It was easy to find (about 10 minute walk from Isandong.) We really enjoyed the tour and Helen was so much fun. Enjoy!

What a wonderful tour!

Cindy provided us with a representative sample of Korean cuisine in off the beaten path places. Each had its own charm and experience. Cindy gave us Korean history, taught us some new words/phrases and was a delight! Our family thoroughly enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it to others.

Night time food tour in Seoul

We had a great time not just sampling Korean cuisine but learning about the food and drink culture of Korea from Korean barbecue with soju bomb to seafood rice cake with plum wine to garlic and spicy fried chicken with Korean beer! Our guide, Brad was very informative and accommodating. He also showed us around Insa-dong and the trendy Ikseon-dong neighborhoods.

Though I knew a lot of Korean food already, I didn’t know the Korean way to eat food. You’ll not only be stuffed, but also be a bit more cultured at the end of tour. Great experience. Thank you, Brad!

My two teen sons and I highly enjoyed this tour! I booked it our 2nd night in Seoul and so glad I did. We learned so much about Korean food and how its served, which gave us a little more confidence through out the rest of our trip and food journey. I highly recommend this tour..you will not be disappointed! Great time!

Great way to see other districts of Seoul via a Food Tour!

The reason why we travel is predominantly food driven and retail of course, so when I discovered this tour, it was a no brainer. Overall, I would recommend this tour, as it allowed us to see parts of Seoul which was outside of our area (we stayed in Gangnam which was south of the river) as the tour was north of the river. The tour isn't just about going to a few restaurants in one nearby location, but Cindy our amazing guide takes you through several restaurants via the scenic route, meaning you walk through side and back streets which you would never venture into yourself unless you knew the area or were a local. Cindy also provides information on background of the restaurant and the food you are about to eat, so very informative as well.

Great intro to Seoul staples

Choosing Korean food can be daunting given the variety and lack of English menus at restaurants. This tour does a great job introducing you to traditional street food favorites like pancake, BBQ and rice pancake, etc. Our guide Anna also did a great job explaining different foods and customs. She even asked us what we were interested in doing with our time in Seoul and sent us recommendations which were very useful! PRO TIP: Come hungry and don’t fill up too early at the first stops. Thanks Anna - you were awesome!

Delicious Food with an Amazing guide

Yummy food
