Our guide, Leo, was absolutely perfect!! He truly made the trip and was so incredibly knowledgeable. He was a gift and we would highly recommend him!

It was a day we'll spent. Richard was a great guide, very knowledgeable and courteous. He shared a lot of information about Salzburg and Austrian history along with the significance of the Eagles Nest. The views from the Eagles Nest were simply stunning. A definite must visit

Perfect tour

Our half day tour with Thomas was wonderful. He drove us from our hotel in Salzburg up to the Eagle's Nest and provided great description of the beautiful landscape and the grim history of the Eagle's Nest. Very professional.

Eagles Nest Tour

Johannes was an excellent tour guide who was very informative. He knew the history and significance of the entire area. Our only complaint was that our tour was cut short based on a delayed start time due to opening day. Johannes was also surprised that our return schedule was sooner than expected. We would have liked to have had more time at the Eagles Nest

Can't go wrong with Panorama Tours

This review is not actually of the Eagle's Nest because we didn't actually get there. Freak early snowfall had it closed the day we were supposed to go. I'm submitting a review because the tour operator, Panorama, is exceptional. They offered all kinds of options to us, including different days and other tours. We were unable to do any of those (sadly) and we VERY PROMPTLY got our money back. We were really impressed with them.

The Eagles Nest

We went on this tour with our Guide Alenka who was excellent, so helpful, kind and who was quite fabulous in giving us both historical and geographical detail as the trip unfolded. It could not have been a more perfect tour and from both a historical and scenic aspect the Eagles Nest tour was astonishing. In my experience one of the best trips I have been on, made all the more special with such a gifted and interesting guide and a lady who really “knew her stuff” It was really a most pleasant experience LP

100% excellent experience with Panorama Tours. Everything was 5 stars across the board. Extremely responsive, helpful and knowledgeable. We did 2 different private tours with (Eagles Nest and Sound of Music) and both were amazing. The tour guide Mitch was GREAT - we had him for both tours. Someone in our party got sick the morning of one of the tours and Panorama did everything possible to work with us and provide alternatives. They really went above and beyond. Highly recommend Panorama tours.

Eagles Nest is a must see!

Our guide Leopold (Leo) was outstanding! We learned more about World War 2 and Hitler's role than we can remember from history classes!

Our trip to Eagles Nest was outstanding! It has both historical significance and amazing beauty. Our guide Thomas was excellent! He was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure we got the most of our trip! Eagles Nest itself is very well run and would be a great place to have lunch if you have time.

Great views and awesome tour guide

The whole tour was fantastic. We had a private tour to the eagles nest and we had a great experience. The vehicle was clean and in good condition, sites were serene and the guide was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor.

Amazing Tour!

We had a party of 14 and had two drivers. I cannot say enough about them. Michael and Carlos were amazing! Everything was arranged for us our drive was very beautiful and informative. We split into two groups at the Eagles Nest for those that wanted to hike to the top and those that didn't. The knowledge that both of these guides have in their heads is amazing. They took us to an amazing place for lunch and then on to the salt mines which was also fun. They gave us recommendations for things to do in Salzburg. This trip was the highlight of our European tour-mostly because of Carlos and Michael. Thank you so much for making this a great memory for the Dunlap family from Alaska!

Leo was our tour guide for this trip, and he was absolutely excellent. He knowledge of the history of Salzburg and the Eagle's Nest was superb.

Highly recommend this tour

Daniel was a great guide showing us all around the Kehlsteinhaus, underground tunnels and sights around Austria. Communication between us and the tour operator was really quick and punctual, everything was well organised and we were looked after from pick up to drop off. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history behind the Kehlsteinhaus. Thank you !

Horrible history! Great tour!

We took a private tour with Ben and Panorama tours to the Eagles Nest, Kehlsteinhaus. It was great to get a personal guide for the trip that lasted 5 hours. Ben knew both his history and his way around the Eagles nest well. He was really efficient but it never felt rushed. We had a great time visiting Kehlsteinhaus and the surroundings, getting beatiful views of the alps along the way and having a nice lunch in Berchtesgaden. Thank you Ben!

Amazing!

The view from this vantage point was amazing! If you love history, this was a tour worth taking. There was a short elevator ride to the top, but it wasn't too bad. For one who battles claustrophobia and the fear of heights, this was a manageable tour for me. Well worth the trip there.

Eagles Nest is meh

Eagles Nest is a little disappointing as it’s mostly just a restaurant now. Not much explaining the history of the place apart from one corridor with a few signs. Had a rainy/foggy morning so the view was basically non existent. You can’t control the weather but try and book the tour on a sunny day if you can. Walter our tour guide was entertaining, funny and charming which was a positive. Would of been worth it if it was good clear morning.

Unimaginable beauty and you will wonder how the place was built in that era where everything was done by hand only. Don't forget to carry your woollens as it is cloudy and may rain anytime.

She arrived right on time at our hotel, had impeccable English, a terrific personality, but most importantly great knowledge of the areas we visited. Our first stop was the Eagle's Nest and she was able to get our tickets very quickly and we were off on the next bus. The view from the Eagle's Nest was stunning and the historical significance made it even more awe inspiring. Along the way Anna shared with us the culture and history of Salzburg and the Austrian people. She personalized our tour based on what our family's interest were. She took us for a beautiful hike out to an incredible view of the King's Lake and had a super secret parking spot that got us very close to the trail. From there we had a brief visit to Berchtesgaden which is a beautiful little Bavarian village. The tour was a great value and I highly recommend it.</p>

<p>This was our favorite tour of all three weeks in Europe. The views were amazing and the weather turned out mostly clear. You could see all the way to Salzburg. Our guide was very informative telling all about the Eagle's Nest and the area as it was during the war. He told us about various points of interest in the city as we drove back to our hotel.</p>

<p>Our tour guide, Johannes was awesome. He picked us up at our hotel, right on time. He had great insight on the areas on the way to Eagle's Nest. He REALLY took care of us. He made sure that we had priority before others waiting in line and made us feel like VIPs! After the main tour, he also took us to a very special section the diesel engine that propels the elevator that is not open to the public and was kind enough to take pictures of us. He then took us to town for shopping and lunch. He recommended the Golden Bear, which was delicious. He even took us right before the other tour buses came, so we beat the crowds. On the way back to the hotel, he stopped by a convenience store for us so we could get water and snacks for the hotel. Eagle's Nest is a must see. The view is breathtaking. Yes, it's quite a hike. I'm very out of shape but was able to hike to the top to admire the view. Take this tour, you'll only be sorry if you don't!</p>
