Little Disappointed

We found our guide was too much of a hurry , you barely had time to get a decent photo. We felt that if the tour had maybe been an extra 15 minutes that maybe the tour guide might not have rushed through the caves like he did .it was a bit disappointing considering some family members came from The Netherlands to experience this.

Rockhampton Caprion Caves Tour

Absolutely stunning, our tour guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. This is a must visit when in Rockhampton. Facilities are clean and there is a shop with souvenirs at very reasonable prices.

A Special Place

I stay away usually from tours as I like to do self guided tours and go my own pace. I wanted to see these caves and doing a tour was the only way to see them. I absolutely loved it and really recommend this tour. I can’t remember the name of the tour guide but whoever he was , he was brilliant. A good mixture of humour, education and information. Really kept everyone engaged and interested. The caves are beautiful. Not the biggest I have ever seen but different and nonetheless beautiful and well worth seen them. The thing with caves is that they are so old and I can really appreciate that. I was really touched by the extra little addition of sitting in the dark and listening to the track hallelujah whilst sitting in the cathedral. It was really special. Thank you guys for a wonderful experience.

Great experience - well worth the trip.

We visited on Mon 27 May 2024. The Caves and the tour were absolutely fantastic. Cathedral Cave was quite moving, with the music, lighting and darkness. Need about 2 hours. Well worth the trip. Highly recommended experience.

Capricorn Cathedral Caves tour

My husband and I throughally enjoyed the experience of the caves. Our tour guide Michalla was very informative and answered any questions we had.

Excellent experience

We had an amazing guide. Well organised, knowledgeable & great personality & sense of humour. The python, huntsman & bats were quite unexpected features. The acoustics in then cathedral cave made for an outstanding experience. We loved everything about our tour & would highly recommend the tour.

Stunning rock formations!

We did the Cathedral tour. I chose this as my husband is claustrophobic. This was his first cave tour. We both thoroughly enjoyed the tour, me for the many photo opportunities and both of us for the grandeur of the caves. The guide was knowledgeable and fun. I also enjoyed the bush walk around our camp site.

Exploring Caves, a natural wonder.

This tour was wonderful. Easy walk, the Caves amazing, but the Cathedral was the highlight. Acoustics in that cave room amazing. Hudson (who was our guide), was full of information, and a pleasure to do our tour with, a very pleasant lady. Thank you Hudson.

Sydney to Cairns 2023

We left Yeppoon early in the morning and arrived at the caves before opening so were on the first tour. We were guided by Candice who was following in her mother's footsteps as a guide. It was a spectacular journey through the different parts of the cave learning the wildlife, geology and fauna found in the caves. The cathedral was awesome and we were treated to a song from one of the girls in another family on our tour. She was amazing and the acoustics were fantastic. Very easy walk on this tour with lots of stops to admire the scenery. There is a small cafe area to enjoy and coffee and cake after your tour. We worth the cost.

Well worth the visit

We were looking for a stop over for a night on our way up to Airlie beach. This was well worth the stop, had a great tour with Hudson. Very passionate and funny tour guide. Would highly recommend. The kids that were on our tour had a great time.

Great cave tour!

Worth the trip!

This tour was awesome! Worth the trip from Yeppoon. Drew was a brilliant guide and was loaded with lots of information. The total blackness of the cake was absolutely brilliant. I would have been super happy to stay there for a lot longer! Thanks for the brilliant experience!

Wonderful Cathedral tour

We went on the Cathedral Cave tour. The caves are beautiful & in most areas large caverns with one set out with seats to listen to music echoing. Anyone who can climb stairs can easily access this tour. We visited on a very wet day. Inside the caves were perfectly dry & the weather made the bats very excited, they were flying around the main cavern & made the tour even more special. A wonderful experience.

A must do if in the area

If you're considering doing this, then just do it. Simply amazing. I was in a group of about 20 people, which I think is/was the perfect size, any bigger then I'd think you'd run into a few issues. Cass was the host. She was funny, informative and such a people person, she did an awesome job highlighting the many wonderful features of the cave system. There was a big focus on safety from her and with little kids running around, I'm sure any parents felt they were in safe hands. The Cathedral room didn't disappoint, If you know someone who can really sing, bring them along. The lighting and ramps, steps, etc are incredibly well done making the system very easy to explore. We saw a bat flying around, was pretty cool.

A must see destination

Absolutely breathtaking 🤩 our guide Sarah was amazing and thorough she was so knowledgeable and fun she made the tour so interesting . The cathedral cave was eerily beautiful and a definite favourite. We felt like we had step back in time visiting this spectacular piece of nature . I only wish that I had book a longer tour as I could have spent an entire day exploring . Will definitely be back ..

Unique and beautiful!

We did the cathedral tour and it was absolutely beautiful! The floor is slightly uneven but you don’t need to be fit to take part in this tour. We would definitely like to return to do the other tours

A must-do!

Such a great experience! The wildlife alone was great, especially the bats, but the caves themselves were absolutely amazing. The guide, Sarah, was fabulous - so passionate and knowledgable - with a great sense of humour. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.

Must do on your holiday!

This was my favourite activity on our Yeppoon holiday. Kids absolutely loved it (4&7). Will definitely come back and do the other tours as the kids get older. The group size was perfect and our tour guide Sarah was hilarious.

SUCH AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE! I’ve been into a few caves in various countries and this one was one of my favourite. The tour guides are incredible. The exact type of person you’d want, full of history and facts and passionate about the cave and conservation and go the extra mile to make sure you have a great time. By visiting you’re also supporting conservation work and the protection of incredible flora and fauna. This place is such a hidden gem and shouldn’t be missed off of any road trip itinerary. Definitely the best thing to do on a stopover to Rockhampton.

Amber was our wonderful guide and Corey and I were the only two people! The whole experience was magical. Especially the Cathedral cave! Amber was very knowledgeable and a beautiful person. Thanks again Amber!

Great short tour, well worth it!

Our guide, Hudson, was great- sense of humour with a terrific knowledge of the caves, the area and history. This was great, but topped off with listening to Hallelujah in the Catherdral cave, a magical experience. Thank you!

Carpricorn Cathedral Cave Tour

The Capricorn Cathedral Cave tour was fantastic. The guide was very knowledgeable, and we had a great time. It is a really good tour for people who don't want to crawl through tiny spaces.

Should be on your top 3 to do list

We went for this tour yesterday. And I have to say it was stunning. Specially in the ceremony room. The music the lighting and the darkness of the cave. The environment definitely take you back to old age. It was definitely breath taking. And tour guide was awesome.

Magical tour - cathedral cave music and lights just wonderful - short period of cave darkness serene and incredible. Kath is an excellent tour guide - such a warm personality and incredibly knowledgable - my guests were in awe of this experience!

Worth the visit !

The tour was amazing ! It was so interesting and Amber was fun and passionate which made it even better. Unfortunately the bats were gone but we did manage to see one. The cathedral is beautiful, definitely worth the tour. What we took with us from the tour is everyone needs a personal bat cave to save the planet!

Fun experience

We had an amazing tour in the caves! Very clear and fun explanation about a variety of things. We stayed in the cabin, provided with a generous breakfast basket. Certainly worth it!

Amazing

So amazing and well worth the drive out of town to visit. The cathedral is truely a mind blowing experience. Only thing is if you don’t like the dark or are claustrophobic then maybe it’s not for you. I recommend you give it a try.

Great local find

A wonderful tour, a real hidden gem while passing through. Our guide was very enthusiastic and passionate about the caves and their conservation work. Would recommend. We only did the cathedral tour but if coming again would do longer ones

Capricorn Caves BRILLIANT

Absolutely brilliant, we stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin at the caves themselves which were very private and well appointed , we spent 4 nights there and were not bored for any of it with booking cave tours , bush walking , star gazing through high powered telescopes which was in the park area 50m from our cabin ( Number 5 ) we went there with out 2 teenage daughters and 7 year old son, the Kiosk was brilliant with great food , drinks , desert and even alcohol , the owners were very pleasant and unbelievably helpful in every way , will be back again very soon thank you

Ultimate underground experience

We did the basic cathedral cave tour and it exceeded my expectations, was an amazing experience and value for money. I wish we could have stayed longer and done the longer tour. Our guide was awesome, learned a lot and had fun. Highly recommended.

Amazing tour! Our guide Hudson was amazing, funny and informative. We learnt so much and the teenagers enjoyed it too. The cathedral acoustic is AMAZING!!! Highly recommend the tour.

These caves are wonderful to visit, especially the experience in the Cathedral. The caves have easy access throughout and are suitable for elderly people who have good mobility. The guide, Hudson, was very informative.

A different and fun experience!

I visited the Capricorn Caves with a group of fellow travel agents from Australia, the UK, France and Italy. We received a lovely warm welcome from the ladies on arrival and enjoyed a truly delicious lunch! The tour of the caves was very enjoyable. I found the history of the caves interesting and we were all blown away by the magnificent Cathedral cave. It was fun squeezing into some tight passageways and we enjoyed the suspension bridge and encountering a tame wallaby. Highly recommend!

Cathedral Tour - definitely worth a visit

An Interesting Stay

We booked a cabin overnight and joined the cathedral tour in the morning. The cabin was clean and comfortable and the tour Interesting. I suggest booking in advance both a cabin and tour. Recommended.

Attended the Opera in the Caves. What a great night. The Caves staff very effecient, courteous and professional.

Brilliant acoustics in cathedral cave

The acoustics in the cathedral cave were stunning. Quite different from other caves as it is a dry cave but stunning all the same. Very enjoyable.

Great experience

We did the Cathedral tour with our little family and had a lovely time. The kids favourite parts were the suspension bridges and the music and lights in the cathedral. Forgot our tour guides name but he was great super informative and a good sense of humour.

Capricorn Caves a melodic experience

Great guide full of interesting facts about the caves and thoroughly educational. The caves are quite different to places such as Jenolan or Wombeyan as they are above ground. There were no bats at home at the time we visited but we did visit many years ago and saw quite a variety. If you are in the Rockhampton/Capricorn area, its worth a visit to these privately run caves if only to listen to the acoustics in the cathedral…even better if someone in your party can sing and volunteers!
