Castle Town

Tour guide was very accommodating. Our flights were delayed and she was more than accommodating with rescheduling our tour. Castle Town was beautiful. We got there late afternoon so we were privileged to see it during daylight and evening. Spectacular.

Martin is an excellent guide!

Our guide, Martin, was just a wonderful guide on our first visit to Prague. His knowledge base is vast, and was able to impart a large amount of interesting information covering numerous topics relative to our stay, while educating us on the history and culture of the city. We enjoyed our experience on our private tour with Martin so much that we booked another private tour in Hungary. This is the way to do a tour, much better than scores of people on a group tour. Please ask for a Martin as your guide, you will enjoy him immensely!

Excellent guide with a lot of knowledge about Prague

It was so pleasant to have Tereza to guide us through the charming Prague. She really understod what we would like to see, and she arranged the tour perfect for us. We were picked up at our hotel, and she explained what she would recommend to see, and we had a lovely walking tour - we felt that we were in the best hands. Great German speaking Tour

Vera took us through the beautiful streets of Prague, was very, very knowledgeable and was able to easily adapt the tour to our needs. She is friendly, present and joyful - it was a pleasure to take her tour through the city. I can only recommend her!

We were expecting Michaela and had read so many wonderful reviews about her. Apparently she fell sick. This was a surprise. Helene was exceptional and covered a lot of ground. She also found a great place for lunch. We had a good rapport with her and she explained a lot about Prague, we learned a lot. She was very professional.

Unfortunate tour guide

This was our second visit to Prague. I heard that this is very interesting city. But from our tour experience it feels very boring. Tour guiding is a talent. Not everyone has what it takes to be a good tour guide. We were lucky on dozens of our European tours that we took over the past 20 years. We met many engaging storytellers, great actors, charismatic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guides. Our Winter Charm of Prague guide was knowledgeable and professional but quite boring.

Winter Magic in Prague

Our guide, Tereza Polakova, was fantastic. She met us at our hotel, The Carlo IV, which is conveniently located close to all the major attractions within easy walking distance. It was our first day/time in Prague and she assisted us in changing dollars for ck, she went slowly at our pace (my husband is 73 and can't walk fast), she stopped at each major attraction to provide historic information and answer questions we had, she even timed our walk to coincide with the noontime show at the Astronomical Clock! Her English was excellent and she was clever in avoiding the tourist crowds. She knew the best vantage points for each attraction so our views were unencumbered by the many tourist visiting this time of year. She provided us a great orientation to Prague so we were entirely comfortable walking and touring on our own the remainder of our visit.

Walking Tour Prague

My family of four (2 adults & 2 teenage girls) had a private walking tour (5 hours) of Prague with Lenka from Prague personal guides. It was a wonderful experience. Lenka’s knowledge of and enthusiasm for Prague is very impressive - history, architecture, myths, stories etc she thoroughly entertained & educated a mixed range of interests in our group. The pace of the tour was well balanced & included tips and map annotations of recommendations & directions for the rest of our time in Prague. Bottom line Our time in Prague would not have been the same without Lenka’s guided tour. It was one of our best guiding experiences. She is a thorough credit to this company and Prague.

Great day trip to Hallstatt and Salzburg

Andrew was a great driver/guide. He made the stretches in the car enjoyable and the time quickly! The tour itself was great-Hallstatt was beautiful even in the rain. Then on to Salzburg which was perfect. We spent 3 hours touring and the restaurant recommendation of St. Peter’s was amazing. The town at Christmas is stunning. Overall a great day trip from Vienna-highly recommend it!!

A brilliant tour

Martin was an excellent guide and we loved our few hours with him. He was so knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful introduction to the history of Prague and the many special places we visited. We would definitely recommend this tour to others.

Great introduction to Prague

Travelled with my 21 year old daughter. We arranged for a personal guide on our first morning in Prague. Tereza was a wonderful guide - knowledgeable and friendly. She arrived promptly at our hotel at our prearranged time. Our first few minutes were spent discussing what we wanted to see over the next few hours and addressing some questions that we had. Wonderful experience

Our family of four enjoyed 2 half-day tours of Prague with Alzbeta. We highly recommend Personal Prague Guide - Private Tours as well as Alzbeta. Private Guided tour with a friend!

We really enjoyed our 2 half day private guided tours with Jana. We had the opportunity to see many of the most important sites in Prague including the Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Strahov Monastery & Library, Old Town Square & Astronomical Clock, Jewish Quarter & John Lennon Wall. Touring with Jana was like being with an old friend as she took great care of us. She is easy going, knowledgeable and a VERY IMPORTANT person in PRAGUE!!! Great tour company

Can’t rave highly enough about the services & professionalism of this company and it’s staff. We’ve used them twice on separate trips to Prague and the Czech Republic. We’ve taken half day tours, full day tours and all have been excellent. Tours are formulated to the pace desired by the client and the guides are extremely knowledgeable. Don’t hesitate to travel far and wide throughout the country seeing more if time permits. Would use them again in the blink of an eye.

Touring with Lenka is like touring with a friend!

My husband and I visited Prague for our second time during the Christmas Markets this past week. Both times we used the services of Personal Prague Guide and both times we were lucky enough to work with Lenka. Lenka is warm and welcoming and is open to personalizing any tour to your group's interests. She is a wonderful person who is highly skilled and passionate about her job. This time we had two friends with us and we used their services for airport transfers, city walking tour and two excursions outside of Prague, Kutna Hora and Karlstejn Castle. Everything Lenka promised went exactly as planned. Our favorite tour was Karlstejn Castle. The castle and the surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful and the tour of the castle was very interesting. (On our last visit, Lenka took us to Cesky Krumlov. This village is straight out of a fairytale. One of our all-time favorites.) When planning our next trip to Prague we will definitely make contact with Lenka again.

Great day in Prague

We had a great time touring Prague with Alejandra. Jay gave us a great tour guide, who was very knowledgeable of the city, and very considerate of my older grandparents who needed to go at their own pace! I am very glad we chose this company!

We found our family’s history!

Our personal guide ALZBETA PETRINOVA made all the difference when she took my husband and I on a tour that will forever live in our hearts. We met her in the morning at our hotel and provided her with copies of paperwork that belonged to my family members who were killed in the Holocaust. She then translated them for us and then actually took us to the home where my mother and her large family lived!! My parents were lucky to have left the country before Hitler invaded, as well as my mother’s sister, but all the rest were taken and killed. She managed to show us their beautiful home and then convince an elderly woman to let us enter! This woman remembered my family, and told us an incredible story! This was the closest I would ever come to my lost family and I owe this all to our sweet guide Alzbeta. How very fortunate that she was our guide! We then walked the city, had coffee in a lovely coffee shop, visited the Pinkas Synagogue where Alzbeta helped us find our lost family on its walls, and had dinner in a fabulous local restaurant. Anyone would be extremely fortunate to have Alzbeta as their guide, as she is as incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and delightful! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Walking Tour of Prague

Our walking tour of Prague with our personal guide from Personal Prague Guide was wonderful. She met us at our hotel and we walked through the castle area one day and through the Jewish area the second. We chose to do two half day visits. Actually we packed much more into those two days. Lenka really gave us so much information and showed us so much. She tailored the tour to what we were interested in and was so accommodating to our needs and interests. She was amazingly knowledgeable and friendly. We couldn't give her too much praise. If we ever have a chance to go back, we will definitely seek our Personal Prague Guides again. Thank you, thank you for a wonderful view of a beautiful city. (There is no dress code. My husband and I are good walkers and I would suggest comfortable walking shoes so you can enjoy it properly.)

Informative, efficient Castle tour

During our recent visit to Prague my husband & I booked a three-hour tour of St. Vitus Cathedral & the Castle. We didn't want to wait in endless lines & our guide, Martin Belohradsky, knew just how to whisk us in & take us to the most important sights. Martin was friendly & extremely knowledgeable & informative. He was also kind enough to answer our questions about life before the Velvet Revolution. Based on our interests, he suggested other places we might like. All in all, it was a great experience.

You won't be disappointed

Vera Patkova was our wonderful guide in Prague. We booked her for two days, four hours each in the morning. I had hurt myself earlier in our trip and had a sore hip. Our walking tour quickly turned into "how to use public transport." Vera didn't bat an eye. Her knowledge was considerable and Vera's English excellent. By the end of our time with her, I felt like I was saying good bye to a friend. Also, I would not do Prague on our own, even with Rick Steves' guidebook. Do not miss the castle.

Excellent Private Guide

Alena Duśkovã was our guide for two half days (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.) in Prague. She met us each day at our hotel and discussed with us our interests in touring the city and then tailored the tour for us. She also made excellent suggestions for places to visit that we would not have known about. Alena speaks perfect English and she is an enthusiastic guide with a wealth of knowledge about her city and the Czech Republic (including history, politics, culture, food, drink, and restaurants). Alena is very relaxed and easy to talk to and we thoroughly enjoyed the days we spent with her. We chose to do a walking tour which was great (good walking shoes required) but we used public transport for longer distances which we liked. We would certainly hire Alena again and we highly recommend her. She would be equally good with adults, children, and adolescents.

Excellent personal tour of Prague!

Four of us hired Lenka Hodrova from Personal Prague Guides. The whole experience was great: easy to book, prompt replies to emails, very good recommendations. Lenka was a gem: excellent English, great knowledge of Prague's history, the architecture, the hidden gems. She also was very helpful in pointing out great non-touristy places for lunch and dinner. We toured with her about 4 hours per day for 2 days--right amount of time leaving adequate free time to explore on our own. Highly recommended!!

Tremendous Guide; Great Visit Adapted to Our Tastes

Renata met us in the hotel and we discussed the many sights in Prague and what we enjoyed seeing. She quickly and efficiently determined the best sights based on this and we were off. It was nice not to have a cookie cutter tour, but rather one tailored to our likes and dislikes. We spent two days with Renata, the first at the Prague Castle and the second in the various towns (New, Old, Jewish, etc.) using public transport to travel between the various sights. Communication with Jana at PPG was efficient and responses were very quick. Recommend without hesitation.

Trabant Tour

We went on a Trabant tour ... Trabant is a small car that was used during the communist era. The tour gives you a look at places that were famous during that time. Martina, our guide, picked us up from our hotel and took us on that wonderful tour. We saw some hidden gems in the city ... it was pretty cool. We went to the Strahov Monastery where showed us a nice restaurant/bar that had a cave inside it and she offered a shot of a traditional liqueur in Prague. Then we went and she offered us to taste a local beer at a local brewery. Then we went to see the TV tower (voted also one of the ugliest buildings in the world), the John Lennon Wall, the German embassy, the old football stadium and many more sites. The fact that we were in a car made it simple to travel all around the city and we also attracted a lot of attention being in a Trabant. Overall it was a pretty nice tour with an amazing and fun guide.

Half Day Private Tour of Prague

There is much to see and do in Prague. Our visit was enhanced by the knowledge shared by our guide, Michaela Vlachova. Michaela gave us a great overview and pointed out places we should come back to and spend more time. We came away knowing more than the guide books provided on the city and its history. And, we had two delightful meals at restaurants which Michaela recommended. ANyone going to Prague should request a tour with Michaela.

High quality and dependable booking service for personal tours

I simply had to email Personal Prague Guide, and soon received much information about possible guide services for our trip to Prague. When we designed our requested tour, we were even given choices of possible guides and their specialty backgrounds. All this was booked several months in advance, with no advance payments. Sure enough, after our arrival, I was contacted again with specifics on our guide and timing. This is a very efficient business, and one travelers can depend on to fulfill any requests. Made the most of our time in Prague

Sarka helped us to make the most of our time in Prague. She arranged for Lenka to take us on 2 half day walking tours in the heart of Prague. Lenka did an amazing job of teaching us about Czech history, architecture, society and culture. She also shared some personal experiences about her life in Czech republic. We felt so close to her that there were tears as we said goodbye after our second day together. We feel very fortunate to have met Lenka and would love to see her again one day. Please come visit us if you are ever in Canada! Sarka also arranged for airport transfers, and she introduced us to Honza who operates Czexperience. With Honza, we did an amazing trip to a wine festival in South Moravia. We strongly recommend Personal Prague Guide.

City Tour of Prague

If you really want to see the sights of Prague and learn a great deal about the city, it is really worth hiring a personal guide and not take one of the group tours. When you are with a large group you always miss so much and spend a lot of time asking questions and most of the time duplicate what has already been said. It may be a bit more expensive but we did it a couple of times with 4 people and it was fantastic. We had a guide named Theresa where had spent a number of years with the diplomatic service working with US, great Britain and France. Was fantastic. Would definably ask for her when I come back. Also used her for your of the Jewish section and she was so very knowledgeable.

Excellent Personal Guide in Prague

Prague is a city that lives up to its hype, especially if you have an excellent local guide like Bohumil from Personal Prague Guide to explain the history and fables that go with what you are seeing. He met us at our hotel and we talked and decided what to see and how long we wanted to go each day. It was two wonderful, memorable days of exploring and soaking up Prague. We will never take a tour again if we have an opportunity to have a personal guide like this. It is the best of all worlds. The Personal Prague Guide transfer service from the airport to our hotel was inexpensive and worked really well also. It was easy and informative because our driver gave us an explanation of what we were driving past as we went to our hotel. Great Company! Great Guide! Great way to see the best of Prague!

Best Day Spent in Prague!

Setting up the tour with Jana was efficient and easy. She went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and help provide recommendations for gluten free restaurants. Our tour guide Max was one of the best we have ever used. He is extremely knowledgeable and personable and flexible. Our day with Max was a perfect way to begin our trip.

Excellent Tour Guide - Thank you Jana!

Right from our initial inquiry, Personal Prague Guide - Day Tours responded promptly and professionally. We had a few ideas of possible walking tours. When we met Jana at our hotel, time was well spent in planning our afternoon. En route to the Jewish Quarter, we strolled through historic areas of Old Town - e.g.,the Powder Gate and Jana pointed out to us the beautiful Art Nouveau decorative style ( Alfons Mucha) on many of the buildings.Jana shared with us her extensive knowledge of all of the areas that we visited. After walking for a few hours, we stopped in a delightful cafe to enjoy a cheese board and cappuccinos. Two half-day tours worked great for us!

We chose to spread our tour of Prague over two days which helped keep us focused and prevented fatigue. Lenka spent time asking us about what we wanted and was extremely sensitive to our interests as opposed to a generic tour. She was amazingly well-versed in history and architecture and included fascinating details for so many sites. Now we will go back and explore a lot of the places we visited in more detail during our remaining time in Prague.

Vera Patkova Tour of Personal Prague Guide

My husband and I spent the better part of our first day in Prague with Vera Patkova--an outstanding tour guide, who knew Prague's premier sites-- and just as important-- Prague's history which informed the art and architecture all around us. I finally had to tease her that she should be the writer for Wikipedia's section on Prague and its history. Not only did we cover a lot of ground with her, but she patiently answered a myriad of questions from both of us. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Věra Pátková Private Tour

Friendly, engaging, cultured and deeply knowledgeable, Věra Pátková gave us a fascinating insider's tour of Prague yesterday--complete with hidden, beautiful alleys and peeks into buildings into which we never would have ventured. Having lived as a young person through both the Warsaw Pact Invasion and the Velvet Revolution, she is a wellspring of memories of the many challenges and triumphs of the Czech Republic. We arranged a half day tour Personal Prague Guide and had a wonderful experience with Lenka. She was extremely knowledgeable and was able to make the tour interesting for our entire family. Great day exploring Prague

Our tour guide, Jana Michalcova, was fully knowledgeable about history of Prague and Czech Republic. She was warm and authentic. We enjoyed and appreciated her willingness to share her own opinions and ideas. Our 5 hour tour went by incredibly fast. We chose to walk most places because that is how we prefer to experience new places. She was extremely helpful in deciding what we would do with our remaining time here and with reservations at authentic quality dining options. I'd come back to Prague just to have Jana as a guide again. Definitely worth the price!!

2 Days with Katarina Kruspanova

We spent 2 days touring Prague with Katarina Kruspanova. She really brought the history, culture, politics, buildings and people to life for us. Prague is a magical city and can be totally overwhelming even for 4 very well traveled ladies but Katarina was able to help us hit the highlights. Her English is superb, her enthusiasm is contagious and her true joy for her sharing this magical city is undeniable.

our tour guide michaela is amazing: knowledgable, fun, entertaining. we had wonderful private transfer from vienna to prague, visited cse krumlov and budovice on the way. Next day she gave us private tour of old town and jewish quarter. Everything was great, on time and other than weather (extremely hot day) tour was perfect. Highly recommend!

Excellent Tour Guide!

We had two wonderful private tours while in Prague. Our tour guide in both cases was Lenka Gajardo Hodrová. Lenka took us to Český Krumlov on a Saturday. A beautiful drive and more beautiful city. The 4 of us were so impressed with Lenka's knowledge and openness to have a discussion on the history of the region. She is such a nice person. On Sunday we took a 3 hour tour of the Jewish quarter (synagogues and cemetery). Lenka was great on this tour as well. My wife is a history buff and was so impressed with Lenka's knowledge and friendliness. Would highly recommend her!

Money well spent!!!

Our tour guide for a half day tour of New Town, Old Town, and the Jewish Quarter was Lenka Hodrova. This was absolutely the best way to see Prague! Lenka took us to the sights, avoided the crowds, and allowed us to have a wonderful day exploring this fabulous city On the second day, Andrea took us through the castle and the church which was also fabulous. I have never hired a private tour guide before, but will absolutely do it again. It is well worth the money!

We can't say enough good things about this private tour guide company and, in particular, our private tour guide, Lenka Gajardo Hodrova. Everything about his company is spectacular. It was simple to work with them in advance of our trip to Prague. He passion for the city and country is evident in the first minutes together. She filled us in on every historical era of the city and was great in answering my questions about World War 2 and the Communist era. We learned about the city's architecture and historical landmarks. She is a superior story-teller who could provide anecdotal historical events to tie the sites to the people who were part of the city's history. We learned more in our limited time there, and got more out of our visit, than we ever could have expected or hoped for, all because of Lenke. A particularly interesting part of Prague's past is it's Jewish history and Jewish quarter, which we told Lenke in advance would be of interest to us. She blocked out our first session to satisfy our interest in these matters, and I cannot describe how knowledgeable she was. I have never had a tour guide who could explain Jewish history and its culture like she could. She brought the past of this city to life for us. We were sad when our time with Lenke ended because we felt that we had made a close friend in our time together. That's my highest compliment. I could go on, but it should suffice to say that this company is outstanding in every way possible. I strongly recommend them and, in particular, suggest asking for Lenke if you are booking.
