Private Prague Food Tour

Wonderful food tour!

We thoroughly enjoyed this private Prague food tour with guide Dasha. During our time she took us to several eateries where the locals go and taught us about popular local cuisine, sweets, beer and liquor. This tour was in the new town section of Prague which was actually perfect since so much of our trip was focused on activities in the old town section. To be clear, the new town is not at all new - it's just not as old as old town. So, it was great to learn our way around a different part of the city while also learning about the local food scene. The private tour allowed us to ask lots of questions and have conversations about what we were learning/eating/seeing. Dasha was great about customizing the experience to our preferences while being extraordinarily personable and knowledgeable. Don't hesitate to book this tour!

Well work the price…..so much fun

What a great tour. Our tour guide Dasha was fabulous, informative and fun. The tour consisted of 3 courses at 3 different restaurants with drink pairings at each stop highlighting the local cuisine . The first restaurant the two of us each had a different soup, both were delicious and hearty Next stop was the main meal, again we both picked a different entree with a local beverage. Again, food was wonderful, I had the beef with cranberries, my husband had the goulash…next stop was the dessert…..oh my goodness…..we had a few different desserts but our favorite was the warm vanilla custard over a bread pastry….. i would highly recommend this tour, and ask for Dasha as you guide you wont be disappointed. Well worth the price and time.

Prague Evening Experience

Enjoying Prague at the food level. Only disappointment was understanding that we would commute to all locations by car after long day of touring but had to walk to all locations. But our guide went above and beyond to make us happy. Paola was fabulous!!!!

Waste of Time!

There weren’t many memorable experiences throughout this tour. Our guide was half asleep, didn’t speak, didn’t explain a single thing, and was un-energetic. In addition, the tour was expected to be four hours, it finished after 3 hours, quite honestly we wanted to get walk off the tour after an hour. The tour was a disappointment, not what we were expecting, and a waste of money.

More than just a food tour

This tour was a great introduction to city of Prague and to Czech culture. It featured very filling and tasty food from local, non-touristy places we would never have discovered on our own. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s history and took us to several interesting sights along the way. He also helped us lay out plans for the remainder of our time in the city. We would highly recommend doing this tour on your first day or night in Prague.

A "must do" on your Prague trip

There is going to be a lot of food so come with an appetite! Our guide was amazing and answered so many questions. It felt like we had an authentic experience which our group of 6 enjoyed. Definitely one of the highlights of our vacation for a bunch of foodies

Excellent food tour!!! Alcohol included!!!!

Outstanding!!! Dasha was an excellent guide!! She answered all of our questions about the city. The restaurants she took us to were all excellent!! And being in the city that lives their beer, thank goodness the stops all included alcohol!!! So thank you again, Dasha!! Our day was really really nice!!!!

What a wonderful experience! Our tour guide, Dasa, was amazing, knowledgable and provided us with an amazing overview of not only Czech food but also Czech culture and history!

An excellent sampling of Czech food

There were 8 of us on this food tour in Prague. Our guide, Jan, was great. We sampled so many foods - appetizers at the first stop (hearty appetizers!), the fried cheese topped with Cole slaw, then tartar sauce (!!!) is delicious. Then there were main dish samples at the 2nd stop and desserts at the 3rd. All the foods and beverages - beer, wine & soft drinks - were traditional Czech foods and delicious. I feel like we learned a lot. We certainly ate a lot and we got some history along with the food. Jan even showed us how to use the tram. I definitely recommend this tour.

Great experience

Wonderful experience. When they say come hungry they mean it. So much food. Lots of fun. Thomas was a wonderful guide who was able to answer all our questions and more

Great foodtour with Tomasz!

Tomasz was a wonderful and knowledgable guide for our foodtour in Prague! We went to different places for appetizers, main course and deserts. A lot of food, so better be prepared to not eating during the day and wait for the tour (even when the tour is in the evening like ours) ;)!

Excellent and informative food tour

Had a throughly enjoyable evening with Tomas our guide. Excellent choices of restaurants for appetisers, dinner and dessert - a great selection of local food and excellent beers and wines. Tomas also had an in-depth knowledge of Prague and its history, with lots of interesting stories. Thank you so much!

Lucy Tours Prague Food Tour a must!

Jan (Jana) was a wonderful host. He has a lovely disposition and fun sense-of-humor. His knowledge of the local food and eateries was extensive and he loved sharing it with his guest. We visited restaurants that locals frequented. The Cafe Louvre was a special treat since one of our group is a real Albert Einstein fan.

Best food tour and would book again!

Pavel was excellent in giving us the history of the areas as we strolled to the restaurants. This was enjoyed by all 4 of us in our group. It was one of the best food tours we’ve been on because of Pavel. The food was amazing as we were able to try so many different Czech foods from apps, main courses to dessert. I would highly recommend this tour if you’re coming to Prague.

Private Prague Walking Food Tour

Our most memorable experience was the sampling of various meats cooked Czech style. The meats included beef, pork, duck and rabbit. We also had the opportunity to try several kinds of local beers The tour ended with tasting a variety of desserts. Dacha was very knowledgeable about the food as well as the history of the Czech Republic.

Nice food tour of Prague

Good introduction to typical Czech food. Enjoyed the three stops including beer hall, more upscale restaurant, and coffee house. Good drink options including beer and wine. A little pricey but expected for a 3 hour private tour with food and drinks included. I would recommend it to anyone new to Prague especially if your time to explore on your own is limited.

You won’t leave hungry.

Jan was a great host. We tried a variety of foods at 3 different and unique restaurants. Believe the description when it says to come hungry. You will not be disappointed. As a bonus the day we joined Jan it was slightly rainy so the streets were not crowded which allowed us to see several points of interest in the city without crowds.

Friday night in Prague

Tomas met us at our hotel promptly at 7. We then walked about 20 minutes thru the heart of Prague to our first stop, for drinks and appetizers. Since it was Friday night, the pub was very busy. Tomas reviewed the menu with us to get our input. In the end we ordered 5 or 6 different appetizers and enjoyed the local beer. Then on to dinner. Again we reviewed the menu together and picked 4 different entrees for the 4 of us to share with our choice of beverages. On to dessert, another short walk to Cafe Louvre. This classic grand cafe was quite impressive. We all chose our dessert and beverage finishing the night off with a shot of the local aperitif. A leisurely walk back to the hotel was welcomed. Tomas was an excellent guide and representative for his city and country. His knowledge was most impressive, he is very friendly and personable and was very patient with all of our questions. This was by far one of the very best food tours we have ever been on and highly recommend Thomas and Lucy tours.

Happy and Full

What an excellent tour with our guide Michael. We had some time before we could check into our hotel, so we decided to take a walking private food tour. Best decision ever!! Michael lead us through back alleys and talked about the history of Prague. Our first stop was at the Ufleku restaurant. He had a table reserved for us in the court yard (garden) as it was a beautiful day. The "master's (dark) beer and shots started flowing. I'm not a fan of dark beer, but this beer was delicious. We tried 5 different entree's and we loved everything served. Feeling full and happy, our 2nd stop was a czech dumpling place and we finished at the wonderful Cafe' Cafe' restaurant. Would recommend this tour for anyone just starting their time in Prague.

Our tour guide was very nice and give a a good tour from our hotel to the restaurant. nice clean car . However, the dinner experience was not good. The guide used his hands to pull apart the duck dinner and then threw it on our plates.

The Things That Dreams Are Made Of

My husband and I decided to take a river boat cruise on the Danube. Because my brother has traveled to Prague and has raved about its beauty, we decided to come to Prague for a couple of days before the cruise. We had planned a private food with Lucy Tours, and our guide, Patrick, met us at our hotel. He took us to three different restaurants - one for appetizers, one for dinner and one for desserts. We experienced delicious foods native to the area and were enlightened to learn about the history of the native foods as well as the many historic sights we passed as we walked from place to place. Subsequent to this tour, we were informed that our tour of the city that we had planned for the following day had been canceled. Patrick generously offered to give us a private driving tour which we were so grateful for. We felt so blessed to have this guide take us through Prague. Once again, he met us at our hotel at the agreed upon time. Patrick guided us through all of the historic parts of Prague, stopping at points of interest to give us a close up. We saw so many things that I cannot even begin to describe them. This is a city that is more beautiful and amazing than you can imagine. And having Patrick to lead us through was beyond anything we could have dreamed of or imagined. He has a volume of historical information and knows exactly where to go and where to park to eliminate any extra walking and to get us to where we could view and enjoy this amazing city. If you are reading this review, I hope you will consider this incredible guide, Patrick, for any tours of Prague. It would be your extreme good fortune and would leave you feeling like you really got to see and enjoy the amazing city of Prague.

Great food tour!

Great lunch with Patrik! What a food tour! Starters, main course, desserts. Good beers. All delicious! The pictures speak for themselves. Awesome and very discussion about the city and life on general. Even some sightseeing on the way! Honestly do not hesitate, just do it!

Jan led us through an excellent food tour of the best examples of typical Czeck cuisine and beer. We were delighted by everything he recommended and suggested -- and were truly appreciative of his engaging personality and explanations of each dish. he also left us with plenty of recommendations of other restaurants to visit during our visit.

Food Tour

Very fulfilling, full size portions. Appetizers and Drinks, Main Meal and Drinks, Dessert and Drinks and Sweet Treat before departing. Good to so on the first night or second night. Good intro to the staples/foods of Prague. Would have enjoyed a bit more variety on the main meal.

Fun and come with an empty stomach!

Patrick is an excellent guide. We learned a lot on this tour about Czech food, but at least as importantly we also learned a lot about Czech history and culture. The tour provides plenty of time to talk to the guide at each of the stops, and Patrick is very knowledgeable and intelligent and has a great sense of humor too! The tour was structured similar to a progressive dinner where we went to three different restaurants for three different courses. At each stop there were multiple food and drink options provided, and all the stops were very traditional check places that were off of the typical Prague tourist trail. Well worth it!

Great food great experience

We did a food tour with Jacob. We went to three excellent places. At each place Jacob knew what to order for us and guided us through each dish. He took us to places we would not have found on our own and introduced us to amazing dishes at each place. I recommend this tour to people who like to eat, drink and have a good time.

Amazing food and the BEST guide

Our group of four was led by our tour guide, Patrick. He was absolutely wonderful. He was born and raised in Prague so he really gave us an insider's perspective. The food was both interesting and delicious. We all got to try things that we would not have known to order on our own. Walking through Prague and eating delicious food with a local...what more could you ask for!!! I only wish we were in Prague longer so we could have booked another tour with Patrick.

Milan in Prague perfect together

We booked a four hour food tour before going to Prague, through AAA. Our guide Milan was fantastic. Originally,I was not sure about him as he was quite young. However, he proved to be excellent; he was on time (actually a little early), very personable, extremely knowledgeable and very willing to listen and adapt the tour. The description of the tour by AAA was not very accurate but we ended up going to three locations; one for appetizers, one for dinner and one for desert, all with beer wine or coffee. The best part of the tour was our guide, he walked us around giving us a great history tour in addition to the food tour, always asking if what he was planning would be OK and adapting as he went. He was a really terrific guide who made the tour.

Come hungry!

Milan, our tour guide, provided a great selection of classic Czech foods. Who knew that 'pickled' cheese was not cured in vinegar or that sausages slow-cooked in dark beer could be so tasty? At the end of the tour we knew what to expect from Czech menus fir the rest of our stay. His English is perfect and the stories are very entertaining. We started at 6pm from our hotel and ended 3 1/2 hours later at a fantastic cafe for dessert and coffee, only a few blocks from our hotel in Old Town.

Our group of four was led by tour guide Milan Knapp on a delightful visit to four different restaurants in Prague with a very inspirational walking tour between each stop. Milan spoke exceptional English and was most helpful with any questions that we had. This was a great way to kick off our stay in Prague.
