Veronica was a great host. Very knowledgable. Tour was focused around standard Czech fare, but expanded into tastings of more experimental foods outside the typical cuisine. All food was delicious and historical information (both food related and not) was fantastic. Very enjoyable tour

Lots of Food, Beer and Fun

Excellent tour, even better if you like the occasional beer. By the end of this tour you are likely to not be hungry. I would go so far to suggest not eating the meal that comes before going on this tour. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. She was the type of person you would want to talk to. I would recommend this tour for travelers over 18, so they can really enjoy all that is offered.

Amazing

I would rate this higher if possible. This was such a great tour, and Karolina did such an excellent job. Very conscious of food allergies as well. I couldn’t recommend this enough!

Great food tour with lots of meat

This was a first rate food tour. Our tour leader, Carolina, was very energetic and informative. There was a lot of food and all of it was good quality. If I had any criticism it was that it was a little meat heavy and probably could have benefitted by replacing one of the meat items with something lighter. There was a fair bit of history of the Czech Republic but not too much.

Best food tour ever

I have taken many food tours all over the world. The Prague Foodie Tour led by Carolina was fabulous. She was amazing, very knowledgeable, engaging, interesting and fun. She encouraged all of us to share something about ourselves and get to know each other. The food at the four stops was delicious and the drinks were unusual and tasty. It was like having four banquets. I highly recommend the tour.

Couldn't have been better

Carla (or Karla) was such an amazing tour guide!!!! She shared both traditional Prague food and drink history plus her experiences living in Prague. She talked about the area we walked by, and took us to great food and drink locations. Highly recommend this tour. Thanks

Great experience

Experienced some good places I would not have tried on my own, and enjoyed using the tram and subway. Tour guide was fantastic.

Gourmet Food Tour

The food was delicious and plentiful. Our guide, Karolina, was knowledgeable, engaging and enthusiastic. We often do food tours when traveling and this was one of the best we’ve been on to date. I particularly loved that she followed up with an email of all the restaurants we visited as well as recommendations for restaurants, bars, etc. Highly recommend.

Prague Foodie Tour

Jan was a wonderful guide. He was knowledgeable about the city and took us to places that locals ate in so they were not touristy. The entire experience was exceptional, with delicious food at every stop and lots of interesting information. Save room for dessert!

Great tour, highly recommended

Fantastic tour. Jan was our guide and he was an absolute pleasure to learn from. Very knowledgeable and keep the conversations and q&a flowing with ease.

Do at the beginning of your Prague Trip!

Loved this tour, food was fantastic. We had Jan and he taught us so much about the culture and history of the Czech Republic as well! Do not eat before this tour though because it was felt like full meals at each stop!

Marketa was the best! Great food with great company!

Marketa was an amazing guide! She’s very passionate about her culture and food. She explained the history behind the dishes and also how some food and places have fond memories for her. Food and drinks were delicious and she gives great recommendations for places to eat and see later. Definitely book this tour and ask for Marketa!

Meh-two meals, dessert, beers were good

All in all, it is two meals - they start with a traditional Czech restaurant where you have some sausage, potato salad. Then, they go to a butcher shop and you get 1/2 a sandwich standing outside and then you take the tram to another place where you have better food - chicken with soy-ish sauce, beef ribs. They round out the night with a coffee (mediocre) and a dessert.

Food and cultural in Prague!

Jan was absolutely a gem. This tour was a history and cultural education as well as a food experience. I learned so much and loved every minute of it. The food was amazing along with seeing the sights. Pro tip: don’t eat too much prior to the tour, and sign up early in your stay. You will want to check out his suggestions and/or revisit places along the journey.

Excellent Experience

I enjoyed the Foodie tour. The host, Peg, was friendly and informative and amusing. The food was varied and tasty. The other people doing the tour were also friendly. Overall a great experience.

One of the best food tours ever

A delightful evening - the food, drinks, and history were all excellent. Markéta was an amazing guide, connecting with each guest, sharing her own stories and connections with Prague, the food, and restaurants we sampled. I can’t say enough great things about this tour, except that I would do it again and would bring my friends and family. The tour seemed to be very well received by everyone young and old. We left feeling more comfortable around the city and really loved that both the train and tram were part of the tour. Highly recommend!

A great way to experience Prague

Amazing insight into the food of the Czech republic through the lens of culture and politics - absolutely recommend.

This tour was incredible! Jan gave us such a fantastic insight into not just the food and beverages of the Czech Republic, but also of the cultural and political atmosphere that has helped shape the people and where, what and how they eat. We visited several food and beverage places we would never have known about or understood if we did find them, and tried all of the typical savouries and sweets of the nation. There was absolutely heaps of food and drink, and something for everyone. We especially appreciated all of the personal stories shared by Jan about his and his parents and grandparents experiences over the years from communism to democracy - we felt really honoured to have participated in this Foodie (and more) journey with Jan.

Highly Recommend!

This tour was awesome to get a better understanding of what life in Prague is like as a local through the food and drinks. Our tour guide Klara was extremely personable and it was amazing to see Prague through her perspective. She went above and beyond throughout the whole tour! The food was exceptional and we finished the day with delicious cocktails.

Must-Do experience!

Kara was amazing! I had no idea we would taste so many foods and beers. The wine was also excellent. She has a great knowledge of the city and really connected with all the people. This is a must do tour when you come to Prague!

Highly Recommend

Klara was wonderful explaining each type of dish and giving some history behind them. The locations were very different from each other providing a nice variety of experiences. The portions were very large. Highly recommend this tour.

Don't eat before this tour...

....because there is a LOT of food, all of it good. Klara was a great guide, who didn't just tell us what we were eating and drinking, but explained how the foods and venues on the tour fit into Czech culture. I wished we had taken this tour on the first day of our visit to Prague and not the last, because Klara provided a great deal of information on places to see and the best ways to get there.

What a wonderful Tour, Peggy our tour guide as she liked to be know (Marketa Podrabska) was instantly likeable and took us to bars and restaurant's we'd never have found or tried, 100% enjoyable tour.

Tasty time and lots of laughs

Charming Margaretha or “Peggy” as we came to know this bubbly redhead made the food tour a great experience! She explained the foods and beer we sampled in a way that made you want to take a bite of everything put before you!

Highly recommend this tour! Pescatarian/vegetarian friendly as well.

The Prague Foodie tour was great- would highly recommend to anyone visiting Prague who wants to learn more about the city through food and drink. Our tour guide Klara was knowledgeable and even sent us a follow up email after the tour with a recap and some more information for the rest of our trip. I am pescatarian and the tour was very pescatarian/vegetarian friendly and Klara was very accommodating so don’t hesitate to book if you have similar dietary restrictions.

Best food tour

What a fun time on this tour. Our guide, Peggy, was enthusiastic, energetic and non-stop telling us about food, beverages, culture, politics and history. Because it started to rain heavily at the start of our tour and most of us were not prepared, she borrowed umbrellas from one of our restaurant stops’ lost and found! We had a lengthy walk and tasted a wide variety of food all the way through dessert and after-dinner drinks. Highly recommend!

Everything we expected and more!

We loved our tour by Marketa!! Very personalized view to Czech food culture from her personal experience. We also loved hearing about post Soviet Czech culture. The food stops were exceptional and the level of detail in description of preparation and quality ingredients was just what we looked for in this tour. We went back to two of the locations and would recommend all that we visited.

Karolina, tour guide, was well-prepared, personable, and professional. Lots of good food and beverage choices to enjoy.

An introduction to the culinary trends in Prague

Our guide was Karolina who is funny and knowledgeable. I give a 5 star rating although as a vegetarian, I must admit I was not excited about the vegetarian offerings. I won't list the restaurants because the guides vary the choices. We only went to 4 restaurants with several offerings at each venue. Very little walking although we did take the metro to a restaurant in Karlin. I loved our "field excursion" and was sorry I didn't have another day to explore more in Karlin. Favorites- Potato Salad, Pilsner Beer! Becherovka Sour! Exquisite desserts (so save room). No need to take notes- Karolina will follow up with the restaurants and the dishes we ate plus further guidance from the Taste of Prague team. Especially recommended for those who want to take baby steps in their encounters with Czech food.

The enthusiasm and knowledge of our guide was infectious and made the experience very memorable. Highly recommend.

Excellent tour

This was a fun activity. The food was varied and the portions were huge, it was more than a full meal. Jan is an engaging host. Having minimal to no knowledge about Prague before arriving, I felt a received a good introduction to Czech life and culture through this tour. I wish we did this soon after arriving. There was some public transport involved which was good to try.

It was worth it.

I loved it. The food was okay, but learning about Prague and the people was excellent. Well worth it.

Fantastic Food + An Incredible Guide = A FANTASTIC Afternoon!

We had the best time with Karolina! We have done a lot of food tours in the last few years and this one is one of the best! Karolina was super knowledgeable and in charge of our group. I love a tour guide who takes control of a group and leads us around so we only have to focus on eating. Also, the food was absolutely fantastic! I enjoyed every stop on the tour. If you love food tours, this is one for you!

In addition, all the food was very good. It was also a great way to see other parts of the city.

Marketa was wonderful and a pleasure. I thought the food venues would be more high-end for the price. Preference for fewer stops.

I sincerely recommend this Tour! We were treated to a wonderful afternoon, and learned so much about many different foods from Jan, our guide. The food and drink choices were excellent, the restaurants were fun, and the overall experience was very smooth, despite a little rain along the way. He really did a great job of sharing an objective history of Prague and its people, which made the afternoon even more meaningful to us.

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Katerina on this food tour! All the food was so good, it’s impossible to pick a favorite. Katerina was so warm and welcoming and she did a great job of giving us lots of history and fun facts about Prague and was very entertaining. We loved her and everything about this tour - the best thing we did in Prague!!

Fantastic experience!

What a fantastic experience! One of the best food tours I’ve ever done. Great variety of restaurants and delicious food and drinks, going from each location by foot, tram and underground. I’m a solo traveler but everyone was encouraged to chat and mingle which I really appreciated. And John gave SO much fun and interesting facts along the way…. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone- you won’t regret it.
