There was no other way for us to discover the rainforest than with Allister's hike. If there is anyone who knows that rainforest inside out and knows how to captivate it is Allister. Fine hike, great swimming, super lunch and beautiful river cruise.

Outstanding small group rainforest hike with and outstanding local guide.

This is a really good small group trip into an uncrowded area of the Daintree rainforest. Allister, our tour guide, made this a special and unique experience with his detailed knowledge of the trees, plants and animals of the rainforest. We did a moderately challenging hike along a small river to a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole - just our group at the falls! After our rainforest walk we had lunch at a local restaurant - excellent, with lots of interesting fruits to try. We then took a crocodile spotting boat trip on the Daintree River with good success! Overall, it was an outstanding day with an outstanding local guide.

Day packed with highlights

A great day trip with Allister! He is very knowledgeable and passionate about this region and his job and always has a good story to tell. The weather was great and we hiked to the waterfall and went for a refreshing swim. The lunch was another highlight with explanations of the local tropical fruits, which we had on our plates to try and the river cruise was excellent, we saw three crocs from small to the biggest one around. I really enjoyed this tour and can highly recommend it!

Our hotel recommended this tour as it is for small groups only and included exactly what we wanted - a "croc cruise" and some hiking with a dip to cool off. Allister was very entertaining and knowledgeable about FNQ. It was the perfect way to cover the Daintree in a day and learn a lot about what this incredible corner of the world has.

Had a lovely hike to the most incredible, refreshing waterfall. A beautiful tasty lunch and a chilled out croc safari by boat. Allister was a fabulous tour guide. Highly recommend this unforgettable tour.

Fantastic Rainforest Experience

An absolute fantastic day! Allister made it fun, interesting and informative. This is a small group tour and is perfect for the day. We started on the Daintree river and saw 4 large saltwater crocs and a juvenile, stopped for an early lunch at a special spot in the jungle with the best food! Afternoon was a hike (which was a little challenging on a small narrow trail) thru private property to the most spectacular waterfall. This is the only tour permitted on the property and the only way to see this waterfall. Allister explained the flora & fauna of the rainforest during the hike which we found very informative. We had a great day and enjoyed Allister company!

Amazing waterfall swim

Allister was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the rainforest. We had an amazing hike to a secluded waterfall for a swim. Pick-up time was spot on and the pace of the day was just right.

Allister was very knowledgeable and flexible with whatever works best for the people on the tour. The location was very private for the hike. We loved every second of it! The catering company he uses for lunch is amazing. I usually have to bring my own food places because I’m celiac but they were very knowledgeable and provide safe food for this, so I had no worries.

Exceptional service in the Daintree

We had a great day out in the rainforest. Alister our guide was amazingly informative showing us lots of cool things in the bush. The trek up to the private waterfall is an easy hike but beautiful. We loved taking a dip and our daughter couldn’t get enough of the rope swing. Lunch was good with the highlight learning about all the exotic fruits from around the world. We were lucky enough to taste a number of them. On the river safari we were lucky enough to spot two female crocodiles. Even if we didn’t see any crocodiles we would have been happy as the trip on the water is therapeutic in the solar powered boat. Great day out!! Highly recommend.

This day was one of the big highlights of our family holiday. We really enjoyed so many things about this experience. Firstly, Allister is a lovely, informative, thoughtful, fun guide who knew so much about the area and the Daintree. Secondly, it was special, good value and delivered for the whole family in all areas. The lunch with exotic fruits was really unique and the kids loved that we got to see so many crocodiles (close up!). I will definitely be recommending this to any friends coming up this way. Amazing experience with knowledgeable and kindhearted guide

We spent two wonderful days touring with Allister. He is extremely knowledgeable about the geological history of Australia and the continent’s flora and fauna. He was very accommodating to our needs and patient when I wanted to stop and take photos. He is very attentive to his clients and looks out for their welfare. Allister made our experience in the Daintree exceptional and we were truly sad to part ways with him.

Beauty Valley Falls Full Day Tour

Had an amazing full day tour with Allister on the 29th of September 2023. The tour began with an enjoyable but moderate 1hr hike to a breathtaking waterfall. As the hike was on private land, the best part was that we had the whole waterfall to ourselves. Alastair was also great at explaining fascinating details about the fauna and flora, turning a simple hike into an educational and memorable experience. Lunch was a highlight in itself, we had a variety of options between barramundi, kangaroo, steak, chicken and a vegetarian option. The restaurant also provided a range of exotic fruits and gave a detailed talk of each one. The final part of the tour was a crocodile cruise on the Daintree river, where we saw 5 crocodiles on the 1 hour cruise. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend it to others.

Unique, personalized, local experience

I highly recommend this tour if you want something off the beaten path that immerses you into the true experience of a local, is personable, and you want to experience a part of the rainforest that very few have experienced. If you are up for a bit of a hike the waterfall is worth it. Alister is very knowledgeable about the rainforest and the local towns. His wife Angie and two daughters came on the tour with us and were an amazing addition to the trip. I was truly in awe about Angie’s extensive knowledge and enthusiasm about the rainforest. I felt that we had experiences that you would not get through a large chain tour company. Angie and Alister pointed out so many plants and their uses which was fascinating. We ate a fruit fresh off a tree that tasted like vanilla ice cream and had the chance to try an edible flower that Angie explained was full of antioxidants. It is an experience that my husband and I will never forget!

Thoroughly enjoyable

We thoroughly enjoyed our hike and swim. Alister is a great guide with lots of knowledge. The lunch was enjoyable followed by the croc boat tour. A full day.

Magical Daintree

What a fantastic day we had with Allister, our fabulous guide who is such a warm, engaging and knowledgeable guy, His genuine passion and stories he shared with us about the Daintree Forest, Flora and Fauna made our day a memorable one. A lovely walk through the forest to a secluded waterfall and swimming hole followed by a delicious lunch and afternoon boat trip to check out the local crocodiles was truly a fun day for us all. I highly recommend this small group day trip.

Beautiful hike and waterfall

This was an awesome experience! The only reason I give it a 4 star out of 5 is because I wish we hiked more. Allister, the guide, was friendly, informative and really cared about the land and nature. We learned a lot from him! He picked us up from our hotel and we were with 3 other people. We started the hike with more info and learning moments. Then we got to the beautiful waterfall which was worth it! Some took a swim. Bring towels and snacks/water. I didn't love the lunch experience portion. I figured we'd have a quick lunch within our hike as a picnic style or maybe stopped someplace quickly (which I think might have been better), but instead it was a sit down meal at an off the beaten path restaurant. The owner of the restaurant was quirky and the experience was a bit odd. If I had the choice to opt out of that lunch, I definitely would! Then, we went on a crocodile cruise. That was quick and we saw many crocs! The guide was knowledgable but wasn't the most amazing tour at the river. Our guide drove us back to our hotel which was very nice. We went in August 2023 and the weather couldn't have been better. We wore longs and longs which helped with the buggy environment. Next time, I would go for a slightly longer hike. Overall, we got a great experience of the Daintree. Thank you Allister!

Amazing experience

We had a great day with Alister in the Rainforest. Alister was informative and knowledgable. The waterfall was beautiful and my son particularly enjoyed the rope swing into the water.

The trip was amazing, Allister is extremely knowledgeable with the plants and animals we see at the trip. The trip he had planned out was really good especially with the hidden gem waterfall we swam at. The food was great and the crocodile sightseeing was also a huge success. Thank you Allister!

Incredible experience! Strongly recommend!

This tour was nothing short of perfect. The hike was gorgeous, invigorating, and informative - Allister knows and respects the land and showed our intimate group through some incredible places that other, larger tours can't reach. The waterfall swim was a hoot and gave us some lifelong memories. Lunch was delicious - we especially enjoyed learning about and sampling local fruit! And the croc tour was a picturesque and thrilling end to it all. Our host, Allister, is a beloved member of this community, with excellent reason - he's knowledgeable, kind, and made us all feel immediately at home. I would recommend this tour for anyone who wants an intimate, adventurous view of this beautiful area and its magnificent plants and animals.

Daintree Rainforest best experience

We have done this amazing experience and we couldn't have chosen better. These is just a few things that we loved: • Allister the tour guide/owner is very knowledge and very funny explaining everything that we were seeing in the forest. • He is super professional and compent. We felt really special the way that he treated us. • Tour with small groups what makes a huge difference to the overall experience. • We visited a secret waterfall that is only accessible with Daintree Experience as you need to get through Allister's friends private property, in the heart of Daintree Rainforest • The food was delicious in the restaurant where we had lunch (included on the tour). After the meal we learned and tried several different fruits. Very interesting! • The Crocodile Cruise in the afternoon was incredible. The captain was very knowledge about the crocodiles and respectful and not interfering with the wildlife at all. This is the kind of companies we like to support. We spotted several crocodiles with different sizes. It was amazing too see wild animals in their natural habitat. All the service was outstanding and we had an incredible experience we will never forget. We felt we were supporting the local and sustainable business which make us very proud and satisfied. Thank you Allister for this incredible experience.

Amazing Day

We had an amazing day with Allister and Daintree Experience to Beauty Valley Falls. Allister has an impressive knowledge about Daintree - everything from plants to animals to culture. Allister is very easy going, great to sense what is needed from his clients and I personally like that he runs small groups. I attended with my two kids (8 and 12y). They had an amazing time, so if you have curious kids that likes being out in nature I can highly recommend Daintree Experience. Camilla

Allister was so informative of the rainforest and all its history and all the plants and trees! The waterfall was amazing to swim in and we had it all to ourselves! The food was incredible in a gorgeous rainforest restaurant. It was perfect!

We did a private visit into the daintree forest, it was amazing. Allister is a great guide, explaining all fauna and flora in the daintree and guiding towards secret spots that are breathtaking. We really recommend the experience.

Excellent tour

Allister is an excellent guide and the tour (Beauty falls) is well worth a trip. We got to experience the rainforest at its best and a lovely swim near the waterfall. Lunch was delicious and we got to learn and taste local fruits. In the afternoon we went on a crocodile cruise and got to see crocodiles and various other animals. We hope we can come back to Daintree and take another trip in the future.

Great experience. We learned so much about the rainforest and trip oak fruits as well as being able to walk through properties and see a waterfall not usually accessible to the public. We had a refreshing swim at the waterfall too. Lunch was delicious and we were able to try a range of local fruits. The Daintree cruise was a relaxing way to finish and we were lucky to see several crocodiles, a water snake and some local birds. Would definitely recommend for couples and also families

Hidden waterfall surprise at the end of a beautiful hike through rainforest. Gorgeous lunch & beautiful river cruise

Absolutely awesome day experiencing Daintree Rainforest and surrounding area The waterfall was a hidden surprise and a welcome refreshing swim stop after hiking through the rainforest. Allister’s knowledge of the area, local fauna and animals was amazing and added to a wonderful experience. Hiking to the top of the waterfall was sensational. A fantastic lunch in the village followed by a beautiful cruise on the solar powered boat sighting crocodiles, snakes and kingfishers was just the icing on the cake. Allister went out of his way to make the day special as he knew we were celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary. Thank you so much, we would definitely contact him again to do another tour next time we visit this beautiful area.

A great day in the Daintree

The tour incorporated places which aren’t on the normal tourist route, in the morning a walk to a waterfall, the tour guide gave us a real insight about the local fauna & flora, There was plenty of time to stop and take it all in. We had lunch in Mossman then a Croc tour in the afternoon, so plenty of variety, a great day.

Daintree Experience met Allister

Allister is de eigenaar en heeft een passie voor het regenwoud. Bijna bij elke stap in onze tour kon hij ons wat vertellen over de flora en fauna in het regenwoud. In de ochtend nam hij ons mee naar een prive terein van 75 ha waar hij unieke toegang tot heeft. Allister begeleide ons naar een swiminghole met waterval. Wij met ons kleine groepje van 5 volwassenen hebbe genoten in het water. Rond lunchtijd redem we samen met hem naar een restaurant verscholen in het bos. hadden we zeker aan voorbij gereden. De authentieke eigenaren hadden ook weer alleen voor ons een heerlijke maaltijd bereid. De kans om eens kangoeroe te eten maar er was ook keuze uit kip of beef. Er zat ook veel lokaal fruit bij. Na de lunch kwam de eigenaar die dit restaurant al 47 jaar runt aan tafel uitleggen wat voor fruit we hebben gegeten. Leuke informatie. Na de lunch zijn we naar een crocodillentoir gereden. Ook weer niet zo'n massaboot maar gewoon klein met 10 mensen op een boot die electrisch werd aangedreven. Hierdoor waren krokodillen niet bang en konden we dicht bij komen. We hebben er 5 gespot. Na de tour hebben we afscheid genomen van Allister. We kregen trouwens ook nog kaarten die een vriend van hem had getekend. Echt persoonlijk. Leuk! Allister erg bedankt voor deze ongeloofelijk leuke ervaring in het regenwoud. 09 tot 16u
