A must do in Phuket

The tour was amazing. There is no way that we would have found any of these places by ourselves. But better than that our guide Nam was great - she gave excellent insight into the local food scene - it made all the difference.

Incredible Tour!

This tour was amazing! Not only was it a food tour but we got history and the guide Nam was incredible, so caring, so attentive. Highly recommend this tour - even to picky eaters which I am as I was able to eat everything!

Best food tour I ever did

This tour was amazing. I highly recommend it. We tasted a great variety of true Thai dishes, all of which were excellent in taste and with regards to the freshness of the ingredients. The eateries were authentic and intriguing places, which I wouldn’t have found by myself or probably wouldn’t have been brave enough to try out without a local. Yet all turned out to be true gems, many of them were family-run businesses that have been going for generations. A fascinating aspect was that many dishes showed the influence of other cultures on Thai cuisine, e.g. Indian, Malay, Chinese, British. Our tour guide Nana was knowledgeable, kind and good-humoured. She answered all of our questions with a friendly smile on her face. Even after the tour had ended, when I asked specifics about a particular dish hours later, I was answered straight away in the kindest way and with great detail. We were served full portions at every stop, not just small tasters, so we practically had lunch and dinner. It was great! This tour was the highlight of our stay in Phuket.

Fabulous authentic experience

Fantastic experience, we would never have dared to try most of the places/ foods on the tour, even the foods that weren't familiar to us were so tasty, so glad we did this instead of playing safe. Our guide Lucky was fabulous too, perfect tour guide, so friendly and knowledgeable and passionate about the foods and history. I would recommend this tour 100%

Authentic trip and food in Oldtown Phuket

Our tour guide Nana took us to 7 different locations with many different kind of dishes. We were provided with water during our whole trip and she took care of the payment. Nana was very kind. My girlfriend and I had a lovely time. In addition, I texted her about nice places to go. In no time I got an reply and suggestions. I highly recommend the trip!

Come hungry!

Nam the tour guide was truly brilliant and very knowledgeable in both the food and the background to the region. The tour was a real experience where you try foods from vendors normally frequented by the locals. We tried so many different dishes we have never had before but one piece of advice; come hungry!

Lots of food

Great tour. Enjoyed all the stops. Casual pace and very accommodating guide. A lot to eat. Come hungry. Only negative is the second to last stop was a Michelin star place. By then, pretty full.

Fantastic tour with our great guide Lucky. Good insight into the different cultures that culminate to form Thai cuisine as it is today. Bonus that it is the day before Chinese new year so we got to meet some special guests. Be prepared for the heat

The Baba tour was incredible! Our guide Cat was extremely knowledgeable of Thai food culture and customs. She took us to the most longstanding and authentic stalls and cafes in Old Town Phuket and answered all our questions about the culture. I can't say enough. This is a must in Phuket.

The tour and Lucky, our guide, we’re both awesome. The stops introduced a great variety of the area and Lucky is very personal and knowledgeable. The entire company (we have been on multiple tours) is organized, helpful and communicative. My wife and I highly recommend.

Great food with friends

We did the tour as a group of friends with a few birthdays to celebrate. Having all lived in Phuket for around 8 years we visited and ate many new dishes and all places I had not experienced previously. We had a great time as a group, delicious food. Excellent guide (Nam) who gave us information on the history of the dish and the buildings visited. The tour was the perfect amount of time and plenty plenty of food. I will definitely be back to the places visited and would highly recommend the tour. Thank you 😊

An unmissable tour for foodies

Great Guide and Even Better Food

Really tasty food at local hotspots! Especially enjoyed the stop in a fancy tea/bakery shop - had to bring a special box of goodies home to the US because they were so good and beautiful! We had a really friendly and funny tour guide that gave great background on the history of the area while we walked around. Would do the tour again! Highly recommend for folks visiting Phuket.

My husband and I did this tour. Fino was a fantastic guide with her warmth, hospitality and friendliness and enjoyed her insights. We learned that Phuket is very rich in cultures, history and food. We visited numerous stops and tried a variety of delicious local foods. I highly recommend this tour and to come hungry! 😋

Fantastic Food Tour

What a great way to see Old Phuket Town and experience the local cuisine. We have been to Old Phuket Town many times before but this was still a new experience for us. We did the 3-7 pm tour so you only need breakfast that morning. We had Lucky as our tour guide who was excellent. Lucky had great knowledge of not only the different cuisine and how it came about in Phuket but also the different sites to been seen along the way. I can’t wait to come back and try the morning tour.

Food tour in Old Phuket Town, must do!

Cat was our tour guide, and she did a wonderful job taking us to many food spots around Old Phuket town. She was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor, which made the tour fun. We would highly recommend taking this food tour, because you try so many different dishes and places you would not normally try. Loved it!

Best food we had in phuket

This is a must do if you’re in Phuket. The food is fantastic, make sure to pace yourself though, there’s a lot of it, and it keeps getting better!!

Eat, eat, repeat!

We ate so much good food! Lucky was our food tour guide and was so good at explaining every dish and every restaurant's history! Make sure you tip nothing less than 500 Bhat! She deserves every bhat! It was so nice to have a great host during the eating of good food! We recommend 10/10!

Perfect food tour!

Truly an excellent experience! Our tour guide, Nam, was the best! She was so knowledgeable and friendly and it felt like we were all hanging out and eating as friends. We became great friends with our tour mates and hung out afterwards! The food was delicious and each stop had history and significance as well as being delicious. We even went to a Michelin star spot. Highly recommend this and any other tours!

Must do if you’re into food

Food tour was amazing. We have been in Phuket for a week and only got a taste for the local cuisine with this tour. We went to places that usual tourists would probably walk past and found some cool spots to continue eating at. Nam the tour guide was informative, friendly, fun & really easy to speak to. Excellent food tour in Phuket

Cat was extremely good. She took us through the various food markets and we tasted some authentic Thai food that we had never tasted before. The Tour guide is very organised and clearly explained the various foods

Wonderful local food tour of the old town

I did the Baba dinner tour which was a great way to eat like a local, savoury & sweet. It turned out I was the only person on that slot and had a personal food tour which was amazing. Lucky was a great guide, made me feel so comfortable even though I was alone as if we were friends exploring Phuket :) and was happy to take photos along the way. Warning: you will be so full - really do come to the tour hungry 😋

Awesome tour, unique authentic experience

Unforgettable tour! Nam was the best guide ever! She took us to really authentic local restaurants that we absolutely had no chance of experiencing without a guide. These aren't the usual touristic restaurants - these are very unique restaurants where usually only locals eat. Nam was very helpful and also gave us interesting information on each restaurant

Great Tour!! So much food and everything was amazing, Our guide “Cat” was super informative and fun!! A definite must do while in Phuket!!

So much food and a wonderful guide!

This was my 2nd food tour in a week with the same company and after all the different food I ate on the first tour I thought I would be in for a repeat (worth it), but I was pleasantly surprised that not only were the stops different, we had different food as well. Nam was the guide and she was wonderful, always making sure food allergies and preferences were considered. She even gave extra attention to the two kids in the group to keep them interested (though their parents already spent a lifetime doing that, they were so polite and adventurous!). The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. There were about 6 or 7 stops with several offering more than one item. We didn’t seem to walk far between stops and at the end I was hoping for a walk around the block before eating again! Highly recommended! I wish they had A Chefs Tour closer to me in Seattle and Portland.

Delicious Food in Phuket Old Town

Meeting up with Cat took some manuvering on my part as I ended up at incorrect meeting point. However, once we met, everything was smooth sailing. I was the only client for the day, so the tour was felt more personal and informative. It happened to be Old Town Phuket Sunday night market, so post tour, I wandered around the night market and had a blast. At the first stop, we had popiah, stir fried bee hoon and folded peanuts, condiments and coconut into a green leaf. It was tasty. All the stops were either family run businesses, have been in the business for over 20 years and up and coming new establishments. We also stopped by On On hotel where Leonardo diCaprio stayed at while filming The Beach. All in all, I highly recommend this tour for a quick taste of Phuket.

Warm, delicious food and interesting all round

Lucky is one of the best tourist guides in the world. Had so much fun with 5 others who were lovely. Great to see Phuket at night too. Food and ambience first class. Thanks Lucky you are fabulous.

Best food tour ever... absolutely outstanding and would go again in a heart beat... wasn't just a food tour, it was a history lesson of phuket... look, do yourself a favour and book now... come hungry though..

Food Fanatics

The Baba Tastes food tour was an amazing experience for my friend and I. I enjoyed each and every bite or sip of the food and drinks offered. There were 7 stops in total with some stops having more than one dish to try. We were full by the 5th stop but we managed to take more food in as it was appealing especially having heard the history of the food, how it was prepared and how it is now a part of Phuket culture. Our tour guide was Kat who is very articulate and clearly explained to us in English how the dishes originated and how they still remain as favourites of the locals. The tour ran for 3 - 4 hours walking from from 1 stop to another with 100 - 300 meters away from each other. We did it in the afternoon until early evening, which I reckon is the ideal time to do this tour so we didn't have to deal with the heat of the sun. We sampled some of the highly regarded dishes of Phuket and I would recommend this tour to any foodie who visits Phuket

Nana is the best Phuket food host!

We had such a great time on this tour! The dishes we sampled were amazing and different than a different food tour we took with the same company in Bangkok’s Chinatown. Nana was a fantastic host and I would highly recommend doing this food tour with her! Great time in Phuket.

Authentic food tour

Nana was an extremely knowledgable, friendly and welcoming guide who gave us a real insight into the mixed food history and culture of Phuket. Some amazing dishes and served in places you probably wouldn’t consider stopping at first glance. Just make sure you don’t fill up too quickly and there is a lot of food to eat!

Must try!!

What a great tour with our tour guide Nana. She was very kind and informative. We had one full day in Phuket and decided to add this tour to our day and were so glad that we did. We loved that the tour was in Old Phuket town, a lively busy, area for eating and shopping. We went to 7 different restaurants and it was PLENTY of food. Sadly we were only able to eat half or 1/3rd of the main dishes. The food was amazing and different than what we were eating during the rest of the trip. We wish we had started this tour in the beginning of our two week trip. Highly recommend! We also enjoyed meeting and spending time with the other members in the group.

An excellent tour

I attended this tour hosted by Nam, on 15/11/23 and can safely say it was an excellent experience, she was an excellent tour guide. She was knowledgeable and made sure each member of the group was comfortable and any preferences or allergies they had were accommodated. She gave us a history of the area as well as the foods we were eating. Tour was well paced with plenty of food. I tried many things I otherwise wouldn’t have and had a great time. Thank you Nam!

Great experience. Well worth the day!

Fantastic tour through Old Phuket. The stops were well thought out and authentic. I are at places I would normally never stop and it was delicious, each one. We had traditional food, street food, and even deconstructed dishes at different stops. Highly recommend this tour to learnt the food and local culture!

Great authentic treats

We loved it. Nam is a great tour guide. She even took into account that I don't eat fish and changed my meals accordingly. Overall a great tour through Old Town Phuket with a nice mix of little local stalls and restaurants. We would book the tour again.

One of the best experiences of my life

I just can’t express how incredible this was. There is absolutely no way we would’ve been able to find these places without this tour. The food was amazing but it also helped us to connect with Phuket and learn so much about Thailand. Our host Nam was iconic - so knowledgeable, kind, funny, smart, friendly with perfect organisation. We will be doing the Bangkok food tour when we are next in Bangkok. This has been the highlight of our month in Thailand. Thank you so much Nam.
