Just a perfect Swan ride

This Swan River cruise was amazing. The water was so still. We even seen dolphins. The captain gave a great commentary. The ship was spotless clean and all the staff were friendly. We will be back.

Relaxing cruise

Relaxing Cruise!

Very relaxing cruise up the Swan sipping wine & nibbling at the charcuterie board. Louis & the crew offered a very friendly efficient service. Weather perfect & different aspect of Perth you wouldn’t normally experience. Highly recommended!

A most relaxing and informative cruise. The boat was clean and comfortable. The Captain related numerous tipbits of information as we cruised gently down the beautiful Swan River enjoying a very nice sparkling wine.

Cruising Down the River

A wonderful afternoon on the swan river. The commentary was interesting and not overwhelming and the scenery was amazing with Perth looking spectacular from the river. There are drinks and light refreshments on board, or you can book a lunch cruise,

Beautiful day for a river cruise

Seeing Perth from the water and getting an idea of how spread out it is. Beautiful homes. Lots of boating activity. We were just off a 14 day cruise. A perfect way to decompress..

Convenience of the...

Convenience of the process from booking online to being on boat & cruising. The landmarks and scenic river beauty was quite well captured from boat; angle was fine. However, the presenter’s description was not always clear or well heard above noise of boat.

Lazy day in the summer sun

Beautiful, relaxing experience but no food available unless you had pre-booked buffet lunch (which we did not know).

Relax & Unwind

We did a return cruise from Perth to Fremantle. The cruise was well set up and reasonably priced. It was very informative and had spectacular views along the way. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Excellent experience

We went for the cruise on the 01/01/2024. It was an excellent experience. The cruise is comfortable and the view is breathtaking. Everything is so smoothly. We loved every minute of the cruise.

Cruising down the Swan

The trip down the river was beautiful, the weather was perfect and the water was calm. The captains commentary was ok - just pointing out buildings and areas - could of done with some stories about them. The crew and staff were friendly and efficient. The jetty barracks had plenty of cafes and restaurants but Fremantle looked bare - though we didn’t get off at Fremantle. Plenty of parking at Jetty.

Swan river cruise experience

Boring cruise. I was expecting more sceneric view than just looking at rich man’s mansions and bangalows.

Best experience, well explained various areas we reach and friendly. Comfortable ride .its good to join with your family or friends to experience this great tour.

Confused & Disappointed

Arrived at Victoria Quay 45 mins before departure. Could not find terminal at B Pier and nor could other traveller's. Absolutely no signage for Captain Cook Cruises anywhere along this pier. No protection from heat or a seat. Poor information and facilities for a transport operator.

Relaxed water day on the Swan

Great way to explore the swan river. Was an easy process from start to finish ! I did the return ride as I was unsure if I could get off and get back on at a later stage . I found out just before boarding I could but I had already made plans . Handy to let others know

Loved the Captain Cook Swan river cruise

I enjoyed a relaxing and informative cruise from Fremantle to Perth (return) and highly recommend it as a means to seeing more of the surrounds and keeping cool at the same time!

Relaxing few hours on the water

A great way to see Perth from the water. You see it from a different perspective. The trip went from Perth to Freemantle and was a relaxing cruise. There was a good commentary from the captain and the crew were pleasant. We saw some dolphins and pelicans which was a bonus

Uninteresting

Not interesting at all, at least for us. All we saw were houses built for the rich and their yachts. And that’s more or less what the commentaries were about.

Good cruise experience 😀

View of the river, houses. Also the commentary about the people living and the costs of the houses. Friendly staff and seat on the upper deck make it an excellent and a exciting experience.

A good day for a cruise. ...

A good day for a cruise. Unfortunately, my wife suffered from her back issues while standing in a queue for 20 minutes, waiting to board, then the staff failed to advise us of the seating aspects, so we only found out at the last minute that we were in the dining area and had to move, by which time the best seats were taken.

An easy tour to see Perth and Fremantle from the river.

We did this trip to fill in our last day in Perth before flying back to NZ. We both really enjoyed the trip and it gave us a different perspective on Perth and suburbs. The commentary was informative too!

Ship rigged for dining not sightseeing

We couldn't hear anything from the sound system so there was essentially no guided commentary. The boat's layout is rigged for dining -- passengers have to sit at tables of 6, and there are 3 tables per row. We were okay since we sat at one of the tables to the side of the ship. Those in the middle tables can't see any of the views.

Great way to see Perth and surrounds.

We sailed down the Swan River to Fremantle on a beautiful day. The commentary by the skipper was interesting and full of relevant information. After a short wait in Fremantle we returned to Perth. Round trip took 2.75 hours and a fantastic way to see Perth and surrounds from a different perspective. We chose the scenic cruise, however; you can include buffet lunch or a one-way trip to Fremantle. Buying the tickets online was easy and boarding was hassle free. I would recommend this trip to visitors to Perth. Great day out!

Pleasant few hours on water

This trip was well organised and professional. It was nice to spend a few hours on a boat looking at the scenery. The commentary was quite informative. However, there is not much of interest on the Swan River. Limited selection of snacks. You may as well just take your own bag of crisps or sweets

Fabulous cruise

Absolutely loved this cruise! We were allowed to wander around the boat and sit where we liked when we liked. It was so comfy, no annoying features at all and i get a bit annoyed with noise and smells. The captains commentary was appreciated. Would do it again!

Relaxing day cruise

Great way to see both Perth and Fremantle in a relaxed manner. Very helpful staff as we changed from just the cruise to getting off in Freo and exploring for a few hours before return cruise. I would recommend this to both locals and visitors. Lovely area to explore around the dock in Perth.

Upgrade your cruise commentaries

The commentary on this beautiful cruise was both boring and embarassing. Over two hours, the only thing the commentator talked about was big houses on the banks of the Swan owned by rich people. it is as if no history existed on the Swan and the only thing of importance to people in Perth is money. No reference to Indigenous people. I was embarassed as an Australia that all the tourists from other countries were hearing this.

The staff were very good and helpful but the noise was awful and the commentary was hard to understand

A Lovely Day on a Cruise

It was nice and the boat ride was comfortable not so chorppy. Enjoyed the river cruise, the staff was nice and friendly. Definitely we will do it again if we return to Perth.

A disappointing Scenic cruise.

We have just come back from a Scenic River Cruise (Paris/Honfleur/Paris). First the good things.. 1) The staff were excellent, polite, efficient. good humoured and helpful. 2) The ship (Scenic Gem) was clean, cabins well looked after and tended. Plenty of towels constantly changed. 3) Nice passengers.USA..Canada..some British and Australian. 4) The tours (the ones we went on) well organised and comprehensive. Now the downsides: A) The food was poor. Poor quality (sirloin steaks purchased from Germany) awful, cheap meat.....Daily salad bars a disgrace... lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, coleslaw and an odd a n other dish.Portions ludicrously small, fish dishes from unknown, obviously cheaper fishes ..soups in bowls so small as to be more like cups....I had to ask the chef why, after 4 days we had not seen a strawberry, raspberry, banana, peach or pear before they, miraculously appeared. Fruit plates normally consisted of three types of sliced melon. B) If you read the Scenic introduction you would think that the ship had four restaurants. Strictly not tue. There is the main dining room and the bar.... the "speciality" restaurants are part of these. C) Breakfast in the main dining room is served only until 8-30 or 9am ..depending on when the tours are leaving that morning.....Late risers can get breakfast in the "snack" area from 9-10am but with a vastly restricted menu. Not so good if you don't want to get up early every day. and absolutely no reason not to have breakfast in ining room till 10 at least. Deserts practically non existant, tiny portions of nothing. Lounge..pleasant but the furniture was very tired, in need of re-upholstering. Bathrooms (tiny) very badly designed. Basin impossible to use without water dropping on to the floor. Shower took up too much room, should have been cornered. Worst of all...my partner had a fall in the lounge and badly damaged her face. Not once was medical assistance offered (I don't even know if there was anyone on board). In the two days after the fall until we left no one from the ship even bothered to enquire if she was OK,. Absolutely disgraceful... All in all some pleasant days (altough weather not condusive) , nice people on board but no real encouragement to ever do it again! Headboards in our cabin also needed recovering. The tour is advertised with Honfleur being the central place of interest. However most of the passengers (we did not) went on the tours to the Normandy beaches and cemetaries. 8 in the morning till 6 in the evening... None of them had a chance to enjoy Honfleur!!! Surely the next days stop at some, apparently uninteresting out of the way place should be cancelled and there should be at least one and a half to two days in Honfleur....Most of the passengers we spoke to were very miffed at that...
