Outstanding wine tour.

One of the best wine tours we have been on and we have been on a few. From booking to being picked up from hotel was stream-less. The premium full day wine tour started at Mandoom where we enjoyed wine and food pairing, featuring 5 canapés with matching wines. Next stop was Upper Reach which their verdelho was excellent. We also had a relaxing scrumptious lunch on the deck overlooking the vineyard. Lunch is not included in the price but the restaurant was very reasonable priced for the some of the best local foods. Next stop was Olive Farm. Tasting from a State of the Art wine delivery system from a choice of over 32 different wines. Last stop was Talijancich Wines that produced wine and fortified wines. Yes we purchased at each winery as the wines are excellent. Yes, we are very selected so the wine was to our tasting. Limited to only 6 people you get a higher quality experience not like to big bus. Shannon our guide/driver was also the owner and was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Enjoyable day in Swan Valley

This is a great option for those with a diverse knowledge of wine and enjoy the atmosphere of a smaller group tour rather than going on a larger tour. The tour guide Shannon had a deep knowledge of wine and the various wineries. The tour was slow paced and you never felt rushed.

Fantastic small group winery tour

Wonderful tour with small group. Shannon our guide was amazing and very knowledgeable. We visited four outstanding wineries, all had very friendly staff. We would recommend this tour to everyone.

Great Time - Swan Valley Wine Tour

Took this tour in Mid-March. There were 4 Guests but could go to 6 Guests in the van. Picked up at our hotel. I rated this tour excellent as the guide (Shannon) was very knowledgeable about the wines, the wine regions and history of the Swan Valley. The wineries we visited were: Mandoon Winery Upper Reach Winery (Lunch) Olive Farm Wines Talijancich Wines Each winery was unique and the lunch was very good. Would definitely do it again with Up Close and Local Tours.

A wine lover's day

A wonderful day. Four boutique wineries, over 30 wines tasted; a chance to see some indigenous art and taste chocolate were added bonuses. Paul was an excellent guide with a detailed knowledge of the area and the wines. Thoroughly recommend.

A True Swan Valley Wine Experience!

We enjoy our wine & wanted a tour that concentrated on the wineries rather chocolate or cheese-makers. Shannon is an expert guide & provided us with an excellent itinerary starting with fantastic wine/canopy pairing, a delicious lunch at the second winery, & two other wineries all showcasing the wonderful wines in the Swan Valley. The wineries were all smaller, family run, & very welcoming, giving us a chance to sample the huge range of different wines produced in this area. We will definitely use Up Close & Local for our next trip to the Margaret River wineries.

Great Day in the Swan Valley

Our Up Close and Local tour host Shannon found us some great venues with very knowledgeable and friendly staff so we learnt a lot about the history of the region and the origin of the drinks they make. An interesting and varied day tour. Everyone thinks Margaret River is the be-all of WA's wine industry but we have some vastly under-appreciated wineries on Perth's doorstep in Swan Valley, and Up Close and Local does a great job in reminding us!

A great local wine tour experience

We were a group of 6 and did an all day tour with Shannon. We were picked up and dropped off to our accommodation which was very convenient for us! The tour van is very spacious, comfy seats and great air conditioning. We had a lovely day visiting 4 beautiful wineries in the Swan Valley. Shannon is very knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and easy going. Our entire group thoroughly enjoyed the tour and were very appreciative of Shannon's wine experience and knowledge. We had a great time and would highly recommend Up Close and Local Tours over other tour operators!

The Ultimate Wine Blending Tour

One of the best tours I have ever been on without a doubt. Bought as a gift to my partner for Xmas. It is the second Tour we have done with Paul. Paul is a fantastic host and his knowledge of wineries in WA is second to none. We had such a great time. The wine blending was so much fun and we learned a lot as well. The bonus was we took away with us 3 bottles of delicious wine that we made ourselves (to our own taste). What a fun day out!!! We had the most delicious lunch as well. Do yourself a favour and get on board, it is a great gift to give and to get.

Great, unhurried wine tasting trip.

This was a delightful trip. Very enjoyable. Paul is very knowledgable and an excellent host. Visited some wonderful wineries. All with their own characteristics and fabulous wine. A very tasty lunch was provided in a lovely location. Comfortable transport. Having never been to a winery before, it was a very pleasant overall experience & we would highly recommend.

A relaxed day visiting the Swan Vally

I spent an enjoyable day with Our host Paul visiting four diverse wineries in the Swan Vally.Paul proved to be an excellent operator wth his wine knowledge of the Swan Valley and what each vineyard could offer. An excellent lunch is provided with the tour. The vineyards visited varied from small family businesses to a large corporate winery.i highly recommend this tour

Wonderful experience, would highly recommend

Going on this tour was one of the best highlights of our Perth trip and the price was totally worth it. We visited 4 wineries all small, unique, boutique. All the tasting fees were included so there were no limitations to what we could try out. Our guide Shannon was extremely knowledgeable and was very helpful and patient as we took time tasting and buying a lot as well. Would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a small customized tour in Swan Valley.

Highly recommended - day amongst the wines.

Our personal guide Shannon, was brilliant. Not only did she know about the wines we sampled, she also knew all about the history of the 4 wineries we visited and the winemakers we met, who were all very generous with their time and their product. It was a relaxed, unrushed day. We travelled in a lovely near new a/c mini-van and stopped at a fabulous restaurant for a 5-star lunch. Worth every cent. A wonderful day in the Swan Valley. Highly recommended.

So glad I went- best experience!

I cannot say enough about how fantastic this tour was. If you are traveling alone, single, or just wanting a getaway but are nervous about being the "odd person out"- I can assure you that will NOT be the case with this tour. Shannon answered all of my inquiries before my tour (and believe me I had a few). The vehicle arrived promptly at my hotel. She was kinder and more personable than I could have imagined. The tour was incredible. I learned so much about the region and the wines and the history. We had the most incredible customized experience through Swan Valley. The food, oh I cannot tell you how delicious the food was. I recommend Up Close & Local Tours 1,000% and am so appreciative of the amazing experience.

Tastes amongst the vines!

From the single best site wine tasting we've had at Olive Farm Wines (so much choice and unlimited samples!!), to a beautiful lunch and some added extras along the way, this tour was simply fantastic. Paul was an excellent host, often adding to our understanding of the history of the region and its fabulous wines. Our summer tour included tastes direct from the vine and some fantastic wines. Following our wrap up at Mandoon Estates, we ventured off to dinner with a lovely couple from the UK that we met on the tour. A fabulous day and one I thoroughly recommend.

A relaxing day doing what I enjoy

A day to remember in WA

I went on the semi-private wine tour with my mother, and we both had an all round a fantastic experience. Paul was an excellent guide, who was very friendly and easy to chat with. We loved every one of the venues as well as the picturesque (and very tasty) lunch destination in the swan valley, and got to enjoy it all with a friendly, funny, and kind group of other guests with us. Can’t recommend this tour highly enough - especially if you want to try some of the best wines in the Swan Valley at wineries you have never even heard of!

November tour

One of the best cperienced I have had in Perth… from re booking us because of a cancelled flight. Shannon was an amazing host and a wealth of knowledge in regards to the wine, region and the winemakers.. the small group format gave an oppotunity to do Māori than just taste wine. The behind the scene aspect of the tour is perfect for learning and appreciating the wine and the region a lot better.. 10/10 tour and would do again.

So happy we chose this tour. Very comfortable van with only a small group of people, which made more exclusive. Great choice of wineries. Cant pin point which one was our favorite. At the first winery, Gemma took us through a tour, telling all interesting facts about the history of their winery. Very knowledgable, easy going and very approachable. We were taken inside where all processes take place. It was very interesting to see all the stages from harvesting to bottling. They have a wine dispenser, where you can taste ALL their wine range, which was at least 20 different wines. Extensive range of wines.It was fun to learn how to use that machine. Other wineries were great too. Absolutely enjoyed our a la cart lunch. Another winery was very touching with a long history. It is operated by the croatian family who are very passionate. Thank you Paul for a great choice of places you took us. I would highly recommend this tour. You can ask Paul any questions about wine. He knew so much about the wines, fun person. Lovely day out

My husband and I had a lovely day with Shannon. She was very accommodating and informative.There was a total of 5 guests on our tour and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We tasted lovely wines at 4 wineries and had a lovely lunch in between ,plus a cheese platter at another. Would recommend.

Full Day Swan Valley Wine Tour.

When I first approached Shannon & Paul, they were very helpful in finding out exactly what we were looking for and worked towards that goal. Faber Winery behind the scenes was excellent. Couldn't fault our day. Went out of their way to pick us up and return. Shannon very knowledgeable and passionate about the region. She wanted to know the speed we wanted to do and was accommodating and worked with us. A brilliant way to celebrate a good friend's surprise 70th. A very enjoyable day had by all, thanks to our wonderful host.

As Always Paul is such a great host, very knowledgeable in all areas of Wine, beer and spirits in the Swan Valley. Such a great day. It takes a lot to create a tour that runs this smoothly and to create the right mix of venues (wineries and restaurants) to visit - each adding a little more richness to the whole experience. ‘Up close and local’ have nailed it! Semi Private Swan Tour

A top Swan Valley Wine Tour

Absolutely fantastic tour. Apart from great selection of wineries, Monty was highly informed and shared so much background info with us about the area and everything related to our itinerary. Additionally, very layback and easy going so we were able to totally relax and enjoy a top day! Highly recommended it!

Fun day in Bickley Valley with my own custom blended wine!

Great wine tasting at boutique wineries, gourmet lunch and fun attempt at blending my own wine from a selection of five different wines. Fun group of people and perfectly organised.

School mums enjoyed a lovely day out.

Perfect from start to finish

The private wine tour with Paul was perfect from start to finish! Easy booking (booked one day before for a private tour and Paul was quick and efficient at cooking up a great itinerary for us). Enjoyed the selection of venues planned out for us! Highly recommend, do not hesitate to book!

Wonderful experience

Went on this trip on Saturday. It was a wonderful experience. Paul was a fantastic host and couldn't do enough. The wineries were great - great explanations of all the wines and much tasting!!!!!! Fabulous lunch!! I was lucky to have a great group of 8 which made you feel it was very intimate and personal. Will try another tour when the weather improves.

Probably the best wine tour I have ever been on. An excellent selection of wineries visited, all reasonably close to each other.

Sparkling Tour

Just did a special event day tour with Up Close & Local Tours last Sunday, I cannot rate them highly enough. Easy to book, great follow up and most especially Paul was knowledgeable and a fun tour guide for the day. The places we went & experiences were unique and made for an extremely enjoyable day. Must say lunch was a highlight as well - well above what you expect from a tour with the food outstanding. If you only do one wine tour in Perth I highly recommend you choose one with this company as I couldn't even come up with one criticism of the whole process. Thanks Paul for making the day so outstanding.

Excellent trip, great itinerary

We were part of a 6 person tour around around 4 wineries and we had a great time. Our guide Paul was a very pleasant host and the places that we visited showed a lot of sides of the wine industry around Swan Valley (from a one-man-show to a corporate-looking place). We had a very tasty lunch and a great group of people to share it with. Our favourite was Faber Vineyard where we had such a passionate host that I really regret we didn't spend more time there. I can't really recommend enough this tour. Thanks Paul!

Excellent vineyard tour!

We have just returned from an excellent tour with Shannon. The highlight was a visit to the Faber vineyard, where John (the owner and winemaker) gave us a very insightful and personal experience (including tasting direct from the barrel and the tank, which is a much more interesting experience than tasting in a modern retail-style cellar door). We had lunch at Faber, which was very good. Overall, a very relaxing day. Highly recommended!

Half Day Swan Valley Wine Tour

We are not wine connoisseurs, however we enjoy wine but we didn't want to join a tour with 'wine experts'! We made the right choice in choosing Up Close & Local Tours. Our guide/driver/ wine buff Paul picked us up at our designated location and immediately excited us about our visit to the Swan Valley wineries. The ones he chose gave us a diverse experience of the many wineries located in this area. We enjoyed Mandoon, Sitella, Upper Reach and especially the Olive Farm where Deb's infectious enthusiasm & knowledge amused us. The choice of cheeses for tasting were delicious and can be purchased next door at The Cheese Barrel. In all it was a splendid afternoon and Paul's diversion on the way back to Perth so that we could see Kangaroos in the wild was much appreciated. We shall certainly be choosing UC&P when we next visit Perth. PS our wine purchases travelled well back to Kota Kinabalu Paul - see photo

Superb!

We took this tour from the Freemantle port two days ago. Shannon, our tour guide, was sure to confirm our tour via email prior to the tour. She picked us up in a clean, lovely van. Shannon was very knowledgeable of the area and selected 4 excellent wineries that gave in depth tours and tastings. She learnt our wine preferences (and the preferences of the three other guests on tour) and directed us and the various vintners to wines we would most likely enjoy. We also tasted a plethora of other wines to experiment with our taste buds. The vintners were liberal with the wines (we probably tasted at least 50) AND were extremely informative and personable. We enjoyed a delicious lunch midway through the tour. Shannon explained the sites around us as we drove through the Swan Valley region. She is proficient as a tour guide, and was friendly and informative. We definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about wines and for a delightful experience!

Great day ar the Swan Valley wineries

Our guide Shannon was a fabulous host for our tour. Shannon picked us up from outside our hotel at the pre arrange time, her vehicle was spotless and very comfortable. She took us to 5 wineries which was a very enjoyable experience with tastings at each hosted by a very experienced staff at the cellar doors. Shannon also was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about each winery and their wines. It was a fantastic day and I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the wine regions of WA.

A fantastic Day Out

What can I say , from start to finish it was a fantastic day out , made all the more enjoyable by our tour guide Paul , who was very knowledgeable about all the Swan Valley Wineries, we got to sample some of the fine wines in the region & we had a lovely lunch in the cheese barrel. Awesome experiences- highly recommend!

I've been on a couple of tours with Up Close and Local and can highly recommend these guys and their tours. It's great to have a tour where the venues are chosen carefully, the guides are educated and share their love of all the wonderful wineries and hidden secrets. I loved learning new things about wine and the winemaking process, and visiting places I never knew existed - which are literally 20-25 minutes from home.

Swan Valley Boutique Wines

We were picked up from our hotel in Perth and taken to 4 boutique wineries in Swan Valley. Paul was very easy to talk to and knew lots about this wine region as well as others. Paul was an excellent guide at each winery and offered friendly advice. The day was relaxing, informative and overall enjoyable!

A Perfect Day

We were supremely happy with our all-day Swan Valley wine tour. Paul knows the winemakers personally, and got us access to wines and wineries that we would have never found ourselves, and his relationships meant that we always received special attention. Thank you Paul!

Wonderful trip

Just completed the wine tour at Swan Valley with our handsome guide, Paul. Our tour was upgraded to personal tour as there were just both of us. Paul is very detail in planning our itinerary to ensure that we received the best experience! The visit to Olivefarmwines helps us to understand more about wine making from the vineyard to the bottle on our table. Lunch is great! With a wide selection of cheese platter with scenic view. The visit to the Mandoon Estate is unforgettable. The winery is located next to the Swan River with a beautiful vineyard around it. We will like to thank Rob for hosting wine tasting with quality wines. The wine tour to the Swan Valley is a must do tour if you are in Perth. Up Close and Local Tours is highly recommended! There are so much to do in Perth, we will definitely be back. Thank you Paul for being a wonderful host! See you soon.
