Great tour, highly recommend!

Our guide Laura was fantastic, such a lovely, funny and knowledgable person. The food available for buffet was great too, huge selection. Highly recommend going with Laura and her company, it was a truly memorable trip for us!

Great tour and guides

Mal was a great tour guide and had lots of great stories about the local indigenous peoples of the area. And Gus was a great driver! The weather wasn't great so we didn't get to stargaze but the guides more than made up for it. Great experience and well worth it.

Excellent tour

The tour guides were excellent, Unfortunately it clouded over therefore making star gazing difficult . Tour guides spent allot of extra time and effort trying to aim telescope to different stars.

Fantastic experience. The team are knowledgeable and made it a great day out. Dinner under the stars was lovely.

Below average

Stargazing was good. Stops for sightseeing didn’t seem well planned though - one stop consisted of looking at dead bushes. Even though previous discussions of extra activities during the day at own expense was discussed through live chat - after booking, we were told this could not be accommodated - further emails were sent but no further communication received.

Pinnacles was great but some parts of the tour did not match what was advertised

I think there is a bit of mismatch of expectations with what was advertised. What was advertized was - lancelin sand dunes - nilgen lookout - hangover bay - nambung national park - the pinaccles so what was done was - pickup from Perth - then there was a pit stop at a petrol stop at Lancelin - then another stop at the Wedge Island Lookout - then drove into Nambung National Park and directly into the Pinaccles I asked the guide "Damo" were we heading to Nilgen Lookout after we visited the Wedge Lookout and he answered "yeah, that was the last stop". I didn't think further until later on the road we passed a signboard showing Nilgen Lookout so that was when I started Google Mapping the trip and realised we totally didn't follow the itinerary Besides that, Pinaccles was great. The view during sunset was great. Damo did a good job bringing us dinner... so not bad.. did some star gazing.. so that was not bad. I only wished they stuck to the itinerary or if there was not sufficient time, they informed us about it. All in all it was a good tour. So good tour means 4 out of 5. But if this was an examination and one needed to grade according to what was promised, I think this was a 2 out of 5. I would want to ask for a refund but i decided to just not bother.

Make the tour facts factual!

The Pinnacles were excellent at sunset and the stillness of the full moon. It reminded me of how often Jesus Christ would go to the lonely places to pray. However, Viator has poorly written this tour, to differentiate between a Summer tour and Autumn winter tour. We never went to the waterfront edge of Hangover Bay but looked at it from 3km away! The tour out of season was essentially going to two viewpoints and a petrol station and then the pinnacles with a nice spread of cold meats on a Salad roll dinner with cheese and crackers. A beautiful evening and great looking through the telescope at the Moons craters!!

Unexpectedly beautiful

It was a fantastic experience - the highlight definitely the Pinnacles and star gazing. It was so desolate, but so unexpectedly beautiful. Andreas did a great job, was trustworthy and he was super informative and helpful. If you have half a day free, this is certainly worth the trip.

Not to be missed

A very easy way to see the desert without too much effort. Well organised with a very informative guide (Danny). I would highly recommend.

Very disappointing

I cannot recommend this tour. The bus was old and uncomfortable and didn't provide any storage space for bags nor seat pockets. The first stop was at a gas station; one would expect the bus to be fueled before the tour starts. There was no water or anything provided on the bus. The stop at the Nilgen lookout didn't happen. The "tour guide" didn't provide any meaningful information. The "sunset dinner" consisted of cheap food from a supermarket and was served in a public seating area at the entrance of the park. (We saw other tours that came with picnic tables and chairs and sat among the pinnacles.) The stargazing didn't happen because of an overcast sky; I would have expected a more professional handling of the weather rather than just saying "let's go back to the bus". Overall, we paid US$118 for a bus ride worth US$20, food worth US$10 and entrance fee US$6. No good value for money.

Amazing Pinnacles

Pinnacles studded all over were very cute creation of mother Nature. Best thing was we visited an hour before sunset. The Sunset view was just amazing. All golden view of sand & Pinnacles. Best to grab memories. Only & major unbearable trouble is innumerable flies brothering all the while till sunset. They are flooding you all over. We had to cover our head, face & neck with a net. Some used some repellent. I recommend to be prepared to avoid flies but don't miss out Pinnacles dessert.

Very impressive

This is very different, it's difficult to see Just what the Pinnacles are made of. So different. It's a site to see. Also don't forget the fly spray. We saw a lot of Australian salutes (fly swatting).

Amazing experience!

Such an amazing experience! Danny was super funny and an amazing tour guide. The pinnacles were a sight to see and the stargazing was out of this world! Would highly recommend this tour!

The advertisement is a...

The advertisement is a bit overwritten - "Before heading to the Pinnacles for sunset, take in the views of the incredible sand dunes from the Lancelin lookout, take a stroll along the Hangover Bay Coast and spectacular views from Nilgen lookout." We didn't stop at any of this places, when I asked why was told that's just for summer time - well nowhere in the add is about that. The Pinnacles is worth to see but the whole trip wasn't even close to the description.

Great Day Trip

Day trip to the Pinnacles Desert was a fantastic experience. Had a couple of stops at Lancelin and the Wedge Lookout to stretch our legs, but the highlight was no doubt the stunning landscape and sunset at the Pinnacles Desert. We had a casual picnic with plenty of food and snacks, and the cloud stayed away long enough for us to do some stargazing (though the telescope did not get much effective use!) Danny was a great host, very knowledgeable of the region and its cultural history, whilst keeping us entertained with his humor.

Great trip to the pinnacles

Great trip to the pinnacles. Excellent tour guide. Dinner well catered for. Stargazing experience was fairly minimal, light and cloud a factor here. Perhaps a toilet break on the return journey could be included.

Amazing

The tour was great! We had Erin as a guide and she was super knowledgable and explained all the history of our stops and also made the stargazing super interesting by pointing out constellations. Highly reccommend, even if its just so you don't have to make the drive there yourself.

Pinnacles

Pinnacles were beautiful sunset was lovely stars were nice. Dinner was lovely, tour guide was very informative, but it would have been nice to drive in the pinnacles and have dinner watching the sunset at a vantage point which we saw other tours doing- bus was really uncomfortable

Awesome Vista

A most inspiring Vista. Well worth the trip. Sadly a little too much cloud & a WAY too bright full moon to do much Stargazing, but the moon rise was brilliant & the technicolour sunset was awesome. Also our tour guide was very Fri & quite knowledgeable ... for a Yank ... 😅

Well done Summer!!

Summer is excellent. She alone did everything for us. Disappointment is your admin re booking - didn't send us the e-voucher till the hotel staff helped us. You had sent to wrong email address.

A few hits and misses. Overall main experience was good.

It would be great if the itinerary can be updated and amended to be more accurate as a few stops did not materialized, notably Yanchep National Park and Hangover Bay. We spent 20 minutes at Lancelin lookout where we see the ocean and sand dunes from a distance. We did not go and explore the actual sand dunes which would probably needed the 60 minutes as stated in the itinerary. Positives We have a great guide and we enjoyed her hospitality and commentary. Our guide prepared a great picnic dinner for us too while we're at the Pinnacles. We did stopped at Nilgen Lookout but too bad there's no flowers as not in season. Pinnacles sunset experience was great, however a little bit of clouds at night so didn't get to do much stargazing. Our guide was a very safe driver and probably saved the overall tour experience for us. Just update and amend the itinerary on your website and all's good. I would recommend if the itinerary was updated more accurately.

Easy no fuss way to see the Pinnacles.

Erin our guide knows everything about everything! She was also our driver and our chef and managed to do it all with good cheer! The trip allowed plenty of time to see the pinnacles and is a great no stress option. Thanks Erin!

Summer was our guide very informative and chatty, nothing too much trouble, from lost belongings to an explanation of the stars. A good guide to have .

Lovely experience

Our tour guide and driver Erin was an absolute legend. Really enjoyed beautiful walk and sunset in a dessert.

Tour as described but not worth it

Tour was as described however to me was not worth paying for the tour guide and tour component. I’ve been on a lot of similar tours across the world and have never had a tour guide that doesn’t seem interested in doing anything other than the bare minimum. Tour stops were fine but no real explanations provided. Tour guide hardly interacted with group unless necessary. If you just want the trip to the pinnacles suggest hitting a car or lower your expectations of the tour itself.

Stargazing at The Pinnacles

What a great trip and experience. Summer, our tour guide and driver was fabulous. Summer was very knowledgable on the history/culture of the area and gave a great talk on the stars and planets which are spectacular at night at the Pinnacles, never seen the Milky Way so clear.! Would not recommend driving out there at night solo with no lights and kangaroos roaming, being on a tour bus was best way for safety. Perfectly organised and a great tour. Thank you Summer, you are the best. Love from the Welshies 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Definitely worth visiting

We booked the ½ day Pinnacles Stargazing Tour with Wildlife Tours Australia (same company as Autopia but price was less- they merged during pandemic). We only wanted the half day tour which left midday, and we stopped along the way in Lancelin (very small town) to the lookout and stretch our legs, Hangover Bay (lovely looking beach) and Nilgen lookout. The bus was full with about 25 people (my husband felt his legs were cramped as he was very tall but I was fine) We then headed to Nambung National Park to see the Pinnacles. Wow - these limestone structures for as far as the eye can see. Somewhat eerie but beautiful. Our tour was only to walk around - there is a path (there is a car road but we did not drive) so everyone disbursed. It was windy so with sand blowing we tried to focus on having the wind at our backs, then headed to the deck to watch sunset. Our tour guide Denny was great. Meanwhile he was setting up the picnic dinner for us - very upscale picnic with cheese and crackers, strawberries, then nice salads and meat choices. He had Prosecco and juice (no water, so best to bring your own). Once it was dark, he gave us a stargazing tour - wow, wow and wow. It was a clear night and there were so many stars. It is pitch black so you could really see the stars. We brought flashlights (although cell phones do have that capability). We saw the Southern Cross, Jupiter, the Milky Way and so many more.

Fully recommended tour.

My wife and I started the tour with a slight hiccup, a couple who hadn't read the emails properly made us start late, but Erin and Summer, our tour advisors, took it in their stride. Erin started the tour with great information about Perth and continued it for most of the journey to the Pinnacles. On arrival, she gave us a great explanation for the Pinnacles and later really good information on the night sky and then showed us Jupiter through her telescope. The camaraderie shown by Erin and Summer to all of us on the tour was excellent, and the evening meal they organised was well laid out and enjoyable. I think I can say that all of us appreciated the care they took in looking after us. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in a good day out from Perth, definitely 5 stars....

The Pinnacles is a MUST day trip!

Danny was the BEST driver/tour guide/story teller! We loved the outing. We had a delicious picnic dinner under the stars. AMAZING!

Disappointed

We did not go to one of the place from the itinerary, Sand Dunes. We were not informed too Everyone in the bus was disappointed because we were promised to go all the places in the itinerary and different thing happens during the trip day. This is some sort of scam I would say. I appreciate if you could refund us partially since the trip did not go as per the itinerary. We paid high price for this trip and I felt so disappointed.

Amazing day out - highly recommend!!

Each and every location we stopped at was simply amazing! One standout highlight was our driver, Erin....... Fun, informative, kind, patient. She made this trip awesome!!!!

Memorable Trip to the Pinnacles

A great tour to the Pinnacles followed by dinner & star gazing. Our guide Erin was really knowledgeable & she made the whole experience very memorable.

Pinnacles and sunset: what else?

The tour was delightful from beginning to end, we were 15 individuals in a charming yet practical minibus (maybe the addition of headrests could enhance comfort during the journey). Our guide and driver, Sue, was exceptionally well-versed in the region’s natural history, sharing captivating tales of the area’s historical events. The mid-journey break was much appreciated, allowing us to savour watermelon, stretch, and take in the surrounding vistas. It was a wise decision to take us on preliminary bus tour of the Pinnacles, which gave us ample opportunity to capture photos and marvel at the stunning natural formations. The dinner was satisfying, offering a wide selection of dishes, though dining with a bit more daylight might have enhanced the experience. The stargazing segment was truly remarkable, thanks to the fortuitous absence of clouds. This is an experience I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone in Perth!

Erin was an excellent guide & host! Friendly and very knowledgeable. Did loads of driving, knew her southern night sky and the history of the pinnacles. Very friendly and a thoughtful lady!

Awe inspiring!

What a wonderful way to see a part of Australia I never knew existed! Denny was fantastic and gave just the right amount of commentary and I really learned a lot. He couldn't control the weather so we didn't have much of a sunset or start gazing due to cloud cover but I still give it the best rating because it was truly amazing!

This is an excellent tour, we had a great tour guide ( Denny ) who explained all about the pinnacles as we watched the sunset ,he is very knowledgeable and made the tour so interesting especially the star gazing. We had a picnic at the end which was a great end to a great day

Erin was fantastic and can’t recommend it enough, Veggie option for dinner great, stars and Pinnacles were beautiful Just make sure you have a warm clothing as the evening can be cool

We went on this Tour with Dani. It was great, Dani is an amazing guide, very kind and funny. He knew a lot about the region, the native people and told us amazing stories about the stars. The desert itselft and the stops on the road are amazing ! And the sky at night is wonderful

Well organised with route stops along the way taking in great views and stunning scenery. Erin our driver was very knowledgeable particularly in identifying stars and constellations and made our trip memorable. Well worth every penny

For a memorable experience

Erin was our amazing driver. The bus was comfortable. Lots of very interesting stops on the way. The Pinnacles are just beautiful.. picnic dinner was delicious, afternoon snacks were lovely. The star gazing was very informative..

Sunset&Pinnacles: amazing combo :-)

Nice tour from the start until the end. About 15 people in a quite interesting couch (maybe some headrests could be added as you are going to spend quite some time in the minibus). Tour guide & driver Sue very knowledgeable of the local flora and fauna and had quite interesting stories of the past events in the area. Thank you for the half trip break when we had some time to enjoy watermelon while stretching our legs and enjoying the scenery around us. Good that at the Pinnacles we did a tour by couch before being left wandering around until dinner time, so we had plenty of time to take picture and admire this amazing natural landscape. Good dinner (maybe it would have been better to have it when there was still a little bit more of natural light) with plenty of food choice. Stargazing experience absolutely fantastic as we were lucky enough to have cloudless sky. I absolutely recommend it and hope to take my family with me next time in Perth.

Pinnacles are a must see

The Pinnacles tour was amazing. Enough time to view the pinnacles, dinner and star gazing. It's an experience. My only criticism is that I'm a coeliac and there was no bread so I couldn't eat my condiments with the bread. There were other things to eat but the group was large and all the food went. I did advise the tour organisers. It doesn't take much to buy a loaf of gluten free bread.

Fabulous opportunity not to be missed.

Fantastic opportunity to do this trip with a small group of people with a great guide also. We stopped along the way and gained an insight into Aboriginal cultural history and European history. Food was delish... stars were fabulous!
