Awesome Food Tour in St. Germain des Pres

Anukool was an awesome guide as he brought us around the neighborhood of St. Germain on a rainy afternoon. He introduced us to many sweets/pastries as well as savory crepes. We also sampled cheeses and meats along with wine. Throughout the tour he showed us St. Sulpice church and the Luxembourg Gardens as well, giving us history and commentary along the way. He is very pleasant, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend any tour with Anukool!

Pastry Tour in Saint Germain District

Andrea met us right on time inspite of the rain. We went to several places for pastries and ended up having snacks in a little neighbor place which was fun. I had the best macaron ever so how could I complain. It was a fun afternoon.

Fantastic tasting tour in Paris

Alpha was a fantastic guide for exploring food and drink in Paris. She met us at our hotel and introduced us to the 5th and 6th Arrondissements and its food. Her tasting stops were varied and of excellent quality. We were quite stuffed at the end of the tour. The tasting tour with Alpha far exceeded our expectations.

Delightful three hours

Andrea was a wonderful guide. It was more than just about the food. Great to learn more about Paris, its food, traditions, history etc from a local. Delightful three hours!

Paris comes to life

Our travel guide named Jerome was phenomenal! He brought the city of Paris to life for us! And the food was quintessential Parisian food.

Would Definitely Recommend

The Private food tour with Paolo was amazing. He knows all the great little cafe's and shops in Paris that aren't in the touristy area. The food was also amazing - great wine, cheese, crepes, macaroons...I would highly recommend this tour for anyone that wants to learn about French food and see the less touristy side of Paris.

fun but the guide was not a very experienced foodie. She didn't know or share much about the wine for example.

Fun afternoon. She brought us to some interesting places but she wasn't very knowledgeable about wine or cheese.

Very disappointing

Before Covid, we took a San Sebastian Pintxos food tour. It was fantastic. The guide took us off the tourist path and into the local food establishments. The food and drink was plentiful and delicious. And that is why we paid over $400 for 2 people for a French food tour. This French tour was deficient in food and drink. It became a 3 hour history lesson and none of the history was about food. For $400 we each got a small pastry, a plain crepe, a mini-quiche, and a small charcuterie and one small glass of wine. We had to wait in the local market for quite some time while the guide shopped and purchased the cheese and wine. For that price we could have enjoyed a lovely dinner. Our guide was very nice but did not seem to have a plan for food tasting. I cannot recommend this tour. It was a rip off.

We enjoyed our tour and especially our guide Paolo. He was very knowledgeable about French food as well as history and culture. All the tastes were delicious.

Terrible experience

This was a truly terrible experience. Our guide had limited knowledge, and was not able to answer even basic questions about the food, culture, and area. We were hoping to learn details about the food, culture and history, as well as get a couple of recommendations for food/wine shops that we could check out on our own time and she was unable to do any of these things. Tour ended early and was overall waste of time and money.

Lovely tour in a beautiful area

It was a lovely your with lots of sweet treats. Jay was wonderful and shared so much about the city.

Amazing food tour

The tour was so amazing, we got a taste of good wine, beautiful cakes and great French cusine. Our guide Alpha was a smart and kind woman and she made us feel like we were out with friends.

Walking food tour St Germain

My sister, myself and our two 16 year olds had a wonderful, relaxed, friendly morning with Gelsomina. We chatted, tried a wide variety of food and walked around the St Germain area. Gelsomina was careful about checking dietary requirements and adjusted for our vegetarian. Portions were very good, don’t eat first! Our 16s both enjoyed the experience very much as did their mums. Thank you Gelsomina, this was a perfect start to our Paris break.

Super great adventure

Alpha was amazing!! Introduced us to food we otherwise would not have tried. Shared a lot of information about Paris and the food culture. We really enjoyed our tour.

Gelsomina is great!

Gelsomina was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious and the conversation was great. My husband and I had an fantastic time trying foods and learning new things about it and the area. She even had us comfortable enough to try escargot at the end of our trip, something both of us were extremely unsure about. We never felt pressured to try anything we didn't want to and she was very helpful finding options for nonalcoholic drinks for me. The only thing we regret was eating a later breakfast before our 1pm tour! The tastings were more than we expected, quantity of food wise, and we sadly couldn't finish everything we were offered. Definitely suggest eating light before it or not at all if you can manage it!

Delicious, fun and educational.

Jay led an amazing food tour that was both delicious and educational. Jay is very funny and knows so much about French history which elevated the tour to another level. He even performed some last minute customization when we asked to get more wine.

Limited tastings

Andea, our guide, was very pleasant and enjoyable. He had a lot of knowledge regarding history and political workings of the area. We were taken to a lovely cafe, a pastry shop and creperie. My only suggestion would be for the guide to have a proposed itinerary of the ten stops rather than ask me to provide suggestions for places I wanted to go. We were expecting 10 stops with “tastings” of various items, but we only actually made it to three or four.

Paolo and St Germaine— incomparable!

Walking around St. Germaine de Pres with Psolo is like strolling with an old friend, except this friend knows all there is to know about food, culture, and everything Paris. Paolo is a joy to spend 3 hours with. An unforgettable experience

A Great Way to Spend a Few Hours in Paris

We spent a great time with Paolo who was very knowledgeable and passionate about the city he loves. He took his time explaining history, customs and Parisian perceptions and attitudes. The food tasting was well worth the money and it was more than we expected and could possibly eat. Highly recommend this tour!

Family food tour with Jay in Saint Germain, Paris

Thanks to Jay our family of 4 had an enjoyable food tour on our first day in Saint Germain. Jay knows his history and made the tour fun and interesting. And the food and drink choices were perfect, with our favourite stop at Le Moliere for crepes.

Great food experience!

Amazing!

This tour was the BEST part of our time in Paris. Gelsomina was kind, informed, friendly, and a pleasure to spend several hours with. We were a family of eight ranging in age from 8 years old to 65 and we all loved this experience. A great variety of delicious food mixed with interesting history. If you’re thinking about booking with Gelsomina do it!

nice- but not as described

Our tourguide was nice but it wasn't the tour that was described here. We booked a 10am timespot, but we were told that nothing opened until 11 which was frustrating becuase we would have booked a different time. We got to try some good food, but not the places that were listed. One one stop, we got a tart, a quiche, and a croissant which was nice, but wasnt what we though we would be doing- trying different places. Maybe the places described were closed because it was too early... The chocolate mousse was amazing and the food we did get was good, just not what was described. Our stops were: 1) a caramel, 2) a bakery with a a tart, a quiche, and a croissant, 3)a creperie, 4)mousse, and sitting in Luxembourg Gardens while eating, and 5)a charcuterie board.

Fabulous Guide and Tasting of Paris

This tour was wonderful and tasty. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interactive. We had delicious croissants, coffee, macaroons, wine, cheeses, chocolate mousse and more. A fabulous time and I highly recommend.

Disappointed

As we taxied to our tour, I opened link for details only to see that they’d cancelled slightly earlier. Very disappointed and now understand many people’s frustration w Viator. I will absolutely never book with them again.

Amazing tour with a fantastic guide!

Gelsomina was absolutely amazing! On this three hour tour, she introduced us to a variety of wonderful foods including quiche, chocolate, macarons, crepes, galettes, cheese, and more. She was engaging and taught us so much about the area, food history, etc. The pace was simply perfect. I wish I had taken more photos, but I was having such a great time that I only took two!

Oolala and YUMMY!

This was a great tour! The food stops were awesome--it is difficult to pick a favorite! Here are a few of the items I feasted on: crepe, cider (my favorite beverage by far I think), macaron, apple pastry, financier, baguette, cheese quiche, dark chocolate mousse (divine), red wine, and a charcuterie plate. I was stuffed! The tour guide was also amazing and very knowledgeable.

Tour was fantastic! Our guide Anukool made it extra special!

I can't say enough great things about this tour and our amazing, enthusiastic guide Anukool. First of all, my husband and I strategically planned this for 3pm our first day in Paris (we landed at 10am in the morning with our two teen daughters). We thought it would be the perfect way to ease into the vacation with a local who knows the scene, tour a great neighborhood, and have a delicious, curated food crawl (then pass out from jetlag). This tour was even better than we expected (we highly recommend doing it early in your trip). It was a small group tour, meaning up to 8-10 people or so, and we were lucky to be the only ones that particular day. Our guide Anukool made the tour spectacular. He greeted us with such warmth and kindness. We were exhausted from traveling by the time we saw him and our spirits were immediately lifted upon meeting him. The conversation was so engaging--he really wanted to get to know us, and he found a way to connect with each one of us--teens included!. He had a story on each of the places we went - you name the French specialty, we had it (we did a full food tour not a "sweets only"). We had crepes while getting the entire history of how the crepe came to be. We had charcuterie in a lovely cafe, quiche from one of the most famous boulangeries, macarons to die for, caramels from the most authentic patisserie (butter salted caramel being the specialty--we learned they originated from Brittany), chocolate mousse that made you cry, an array of breads and wine, and more. Each shop/restaurant had been carefully selected by Anukool! He had a specific reason for each, and it was fun to learn the what and why for each establishment we visited. We had just the BEST time. But that's not all. Because it's a walking tour and we had a bit of extra time, as a bonus, Anukool gave us a tour of Luxembourg gardens while we were noshing on some of our sweets. He also asked us what our itinerary was and gave us some great tips on restaurants and some other local-type of insights. Also--incredibly--he gave us his cell number and told us we could text him any time during our vacation with questions...(and we actually did, and he responded!) It was a magical, magical experience. Anukool made it a perfect first day. We highly recommend this tour. Please ask for Anukool if you go!

Holy Crepe!

The food tastings with Gelsomina was very enjoyable. My group of five ladies and I asked Gelesomia many questions as we walked along. She speaks fluent English and is very knowledgeable about the culture in Paris. She was energetic, fun and gave helpful tips about making our last few days memorable. We started at a Crepe shop then Bakery for Quiche then onto to Chocolate Mousse, Macroons and ended with wine and cheese board. I would highly recommend this tour and Gelsomina.

Tasting the Best of Paris

This was an incredible experience! Our guide, Gelsomina, took us through the streets of Saint Germain and introduced us to excellent examples of French cuisine. We savored quiche, croissants, coffees, cheeses and wine, chocolate, and pastry. When we mentioned that we hoped to purchase wine and chocolates to take home, she took us to places where she recommended that we make the purchases. This was a perfect end to our Paris vacation, as we left on the next day. I definitely would recommend this tour.

A great tasting tour.

A wonderful sampling of French cuisine. Our guide, Gelsomina, was delightful and informative. We went at a comfortable pace. If you want to sample different cuisines, this is a great way to do it.

What a fabulous, delicious tour. The guide knew the area and the proprietors. The selection of shops and foods was excellent and high quality. We sampled .macaroons, coffee, spices, olive oils, cheese, and wine. We ate several flavors of quiche from an outstanding baker. At some shops, we bought items to take home. We would definitely recommend it. We loved the picnic in Luxembourg Gardens at the conclusion where we relaxed with six kinds of French cheese, wine and bread. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly answering all of our many questions.

Fantastic food tour with Paolo

My daughter and I shared one of the best food tours we've ever had with Paolo as our guide. Paolo was very attentive, very knowledgeable and clearly loves Paris and knows its history well. We enjoyed excellent quality foods...macarons, bread, wine and cheese, as well as quiche and delicious chocolates! We visited a unique shop with different peppers, salts and spices, as well as an olive oil shop. Just the most wonderful day!

Best food and best guide

This was a fantastic tour. We started outside St Germaine De Pres, which was a sight in itself. Our guide, Paolo, was amazing. He was so friendly and provided some history along with recommendations for our time in Paris. The food was amazing and varied. But of course, it's Paris, so it was good. The tour started with the famous macarons of Laduree with many other stops, along with olive oil tasting and a spice shop (both very unique). The food was top notch but the guide is what made the tour.

Very nice time with an accommodating local guide. We had lots of fun and his flexibility with what we want was great.

Knowledgeable guide. Brought awareness to local foods that we would not have discovered on our own. Local history was also addressed, making the experience even more interesting.

The chocolate mousse. We also liked the savory crepes we had as a starter. The food was generous, giving us lunch for the next day.
