Our tour guide was amazing. She had a set agenda. Many different food tastes along with history of the neighborhood. We had a great time.

Great intro to Saint Germaine neighborhood

Everything about this tour was superb: the host, the food, the sights & sounds, and the camaraderie. We did the tour on the same day we arrived with 2 goals in mind: 1) a way to push through the jet lag with a walking activity and 2) a way to get our bearings in the Saint Germain neighborhood we were staying. On both accounts the tour exceeded our expectations. I was especially happy that tour included unexpected tastings such as olive oils, jams, and pastries.

Paris is a Dream food walking tour

My husband and I had a great food tasting walking tour with Paris a Dream. Fanny was an excellent and friendly guide. As we walked from place to place, it felt like we were walking with a friend. We tasted jams, olive oils, spreads, cheeses, a little meal of meat and vegetables and desserts! Everything was delicious. We were able to sit and enjoy the little meal with a glass of wine and when we were at a cheese shop, went to the cellar to taste the cheeses and were able to pair it with another glass of wine. At the bakery, we were able to pick from a full size dessert and were able to choose 2 different types of chocolates. These desserts were boxed for us to enjoy at our leisure. Not only did we sample yummy food, but Fanny pointed out some local sights and we had a stroll through Luxembourg Gardens. It was a delicious and great walking tour and I highly recommend trying it. Thanks for a great tour, Fanny!

My husband and I booked a small group tour . We had a group of 6 total. We toured the St. Germaine area. Laure was so knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the area. She was very sweet and friendly as well. We loved this experience and would highly recommend it !!

Saint-Germaine Wine & Food Tour

Fanny was a wonderful tour guide that introduced us not only to some of the very best culinary foods and wines of the area but was extremely knowledgeable and informative about all the history of the area and the history of this wonderful food region of Saint-Germaine. It was impossible to eat all of the food presented but we enjoyed every bite. The wine pairings were exceptional too. We highly recommend this tour and Fanny and would do it again!

Wonderful Food and History of a very beautiful part of Paris

My daughter and I took the food tour with Fanny. Not only was it a food tour but a history lesson as well. She stopped at several old restaurants and local businesses even though we weren't eating there she explained the history (love the story of Napoleon and his hat). The food was wonderful. The chocolate was some of the very best. We ended at the gardens and such a wonderful place to enjoy your dessert. THANK YOU Fanny - you were the best.

A lovely tour - highly recommend!

My husband and our two boys (Aged 10 and 13) took the Saint-Germaine-Des-Pres food tour and had a wonderful time. Our guide Floriane was so lovely and gave us lots of interesting facts along the way. It was nice to be taken through a new neighborhood with someone so knowledgeable and to discover shops that we otherwise wouldn't have. We loved everything we sampled and were plenty full at the end of our tour. We have already gone back to visit one of the shops and purchase some jams.

Excellent way to spend an afternoon. We learned some history and discovered places we never would have found otherwise!

We had a great tour with Victor! My tween daughter is shy, but not when it comes to trying new foods! Victor did a great job of understanding what would keep both of us engaged. One of the highlights of our trip to Paris!

Best food tour in Paris!!

Laure, our guide, was the BEST part of this tour! Her broad knowledge, many years of education in the arts and sciences as well as her love for food and people made this tour the highlight of our days in Paris. We loved every minute! The jam and olive oil tastings, tapas, cheese, wine, chocolates and desserts - best of the best! Loved ending in the intimate cheese store's wine cellar. Don't hesitate to reserve this trip and request Laure!!

A Real Gem of an Experience

What a thoughtful and charming walking tour. Our guide, Fanny, was kind, knowledgeable, and delightful. We tasted beautifully handmade jams, flavorful olive oils, selected gorgeous pastries and chocolates all with the guidance of small shop owners and Fanny. We stopped at a cafe and enjoyed some of our acquisitions along with some dishes Fanny ordered for us. We ended the tour at the patisserie with wine and cheese and colorful conversation. All of us in our party would give the tour 5 stars. Fanny went above and beyond to obtain a small loaf of gluten free bread for me so I wouldn’t miss out. If you love food, history, and French culture this is the walking tour for you.

Our guide Laure was absolutely wonderful. We went to 6 places and saw more. The ethic was for there to be only authentically French and high quality stops. Lots of history and relevant facts well explained. Soooo much wonderful food tasted and given to take home. do NOT eat before you go, But the highlight was Laure: knowledgeable, lovely and nothing too much trouble.

A “Must” Food tour

Our food tour was a great experience. It’s well worth the time and money. You visit some very unique and special parts of Paris while tasting a variety of things.

A Must-Do in Paris!

Laur was our tour guide who shared her passion & knowledge of the French districts, the vibe, historical churches & the people of the lively arissdonments & back streets of Paris. Our group of 6 were able to sample cheeses, jams, pastries, macrons, wines & tapas selections from so many wonderful venues! Because we did an afternoon tour, the tapas sample served as our dinner, including delicious pork belly, pigs ears! Would never have tried those on our own. Who knew they were so good!? Laur was a fantastic tour guide, full of enthusiastic historical information and passion for her city. Would definitely request her again. This tour was one of the top highlights of our time in Paris!

Waste of money and time

I have been waiting to write this review, thinking I might feel differently in a week, but no; this tour is not worth it. Our tour guide, Laure, was so attentive and sweet, and made sure we were well taken care of at all times. thanks Laure. The tour itself is not worth it all; we make a point of going on food tours as much as we can so this was not our first (but was the worst). first off you don't get much food for the price (sample of jam, sample of olive oil, one dessert, one tapa, and 4 slices of cheese), absolutely not wort it. also I expect to learn about the history of the food items and why it is integrated into the fiber of the neighborhood or city. there was none of that, rather some random historical facts that you can get from any website. This is honestly the first time that I thought a food tour was actual waste of not just my money but also my time.

Beyond Delicious

Our tour guide, Fannie, showed us some of the most delicious parts of Paris. Arrive hungry, and get ready to try some amazing pastry, chocolate, cheese and other French delicacies. We went through side streets and alleyways that only the locals would know about. Fannie gave us an overview of the history of the area painting a picture of how things were hundreds of years ago. This area is beautiful and mesmerizing. The food choices were outstanding. We highly recommend this tour!

Amazing!!!

We loved this tour! Fanny was an excellent guide. She knew a lot about history and took us to some great neighborhoods we would not have seen otherwise. It is an original way to see Paris and learn about the culture. My only recommendation is for the tour company - the starting point is a little confusing. #3 is just a purple door in the middle of a plaza. Please make this more clear. We thought we were lost but luckily Fanny found us. I highly recommend doing this tour on your visit to Paris. You won’t be disappointed!!

Unique Experience

What a unique way of experiencing the French food, culture and a bit of history. Went to so many great places that we would have never found on our own thanks to Simon our tour guide. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable.

I am so glad we decided to take this tour. Our lovely guide Victor showed us all around the Saint Germaine area , explaining to us the history and story of many of the places. We could not have seen or learnt as this much if we had done this on our own. We tasted different jams, award winning desserts, baguettes, cheese and a lovely lunch from one of the top chefs of the area. Victor was very hospitable and a pleasure to spend the afternoon with.

Eat, learn, appreciate

Anaïs, one of the best tour guides I’ve had, explained the history of important places we passed as we walked from shop to shop, adding interest to what could have been “just a walk”. My love of desserts made visiting patisseries the highlight of the tour. Learning how some of the desserts were created was fascinating. The cheese shop was my second favorite. It’s was very quick pace to cover the itinerary in the allotted time.

Gréât food & history lesson

Our guide Nadia was excellent- very knowledgeable and kept the tour very interesting. Of course the food was delicious. Also got a bit of a history lesson of St. Germain de Près. Highly recommend.

Unexpected treats

"Designer" jams with fruits and flavors I would never have thought of; olive oils in different flavors - who knew? chocolates; pastries; and, of course, bread. Josquin, our guide, introduced us to these unexpected treats on our food tour in Saint Germain des Pres. We also learned some history along the way and, all in all, had a delightful afternoon with a charming guide in this beautiful Parisian neighborhood.

Paris underground for gourmet food lovers

A fun and very interesting experience. Isabelle, our guide, is very knowledgeable and brought us to hidden spots known only by the local. WA taste marmelade, choux à la crème, olive oils, cold cuts, pastries, cheese.... A real fest.

A tasty tour

My friend and I really enjoyed our tour of St. Germain des Pres. The communication from the company was very good when a change needed to be made. Our guide, Josquin, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and funny. We learned a lot about what we were eating and the history of the neighborhood. The food samplings chosen were high quality and very tasty. We enjoyed exploring places we would not have found on our own. I would definitely recommend this tour.

a wonderful tour with delicious food

We had a great food tour through St-Germain with Josquin. He was very gentle and friendly and explained history things about the quartier and answerd all our questions. We had the luck to see and eat different food of local producers and shops, sweet and salty. On this way we dicoverd small places, that we usually wouldn't visit. We will defenitly do such a tour again, when we will stay the next time at Paris. Thank you very much.

Tasty small bites and some neighbourhood history

We have been on 20+ food tours during our travel around the world and have seen quite a lot of examples of how this could be done. A food tour in a new city is always the most exciting part of our trip. Isabelle has wonderful reviews and we selected her tour looking for something less mainstream with a personal touch. Here are some reflections we have after attending this one: The tour has a good mix of sweet and savory stops. You will get to try some jams, pastry, olive oil, baguette, cheese, wine, cold cuts. Worth knowing, you will not get to try croissants and macaroons, so make sure to do it on your own prior to. We were instructed to show up at a busy square in front of a cathedral. It was quite stressful trying to figure out which of these people our guide is (we were looking for Isabelle). The phone number provided with the booking did not respond to our texts. Our guide ended up being a young man - how we were supposed to know that? No contact information to him was provided, he did not hold a sign either. For the future, I think it is solved with a simple sign and a phone number in an email the day before. Do not skip breakfast on the day! This food tour provides you with very little food. The first 2 hours are about tiny bites, like jam tasting (no bread) and olive oil tasting (no bread). When you finally get to the baguette and cheese part, you are so starved that it seemed like the best food on earth :) I wish the description would have specified that we should eat before. This is in fact first time ever we had so little food to eat on such a tour. Bring our own water/drink. You will be trying sweets for the first part of the tour but there is no opportunity to get a glass of water in those little shops. There are no planned stops for buying a drink either, so make sure to bring your own. I wish that would be specified in the description. Not having Isabelle as a guide was our main disappointment. I guess this is a common problem with scaling businesses. The young man we got as a guide was the main downside of the tour for us. We were the only two people attending the tour and started by saying how hungry we are since we skipped breakfast in anticipation of all the yummy food. The guide did not take that into consideration at all. I understand that maybe the stops are pre-planned but there are numerous ways to address this on the spot. For example, you can offer guests to get a baguette first, even if we have to pay ourselves. Also, please let us eat right away once the food arrives! :) By the last two stops with cold cuts and cheeses, we had to wait a full 5+ min listening about each cheese and wine before we could even grab a bite. Simple "you guys go ahead and get a bite and I tell you about this cheese" would have been perfect :) Throughout the tour, we did not think our guide paid much attention to what we are saying. He would ask "have you head of....?" and even if we say "yes" he would proceed to explain the concept. It was a bit odd since we clearly said we know what he is talking about. We were referred to as "ladies and gentlemen (but we are just 2 people..?), adding to the feeling that the guide is going through a memorized text and not really communicating with us and tailoring information on the go. When I tried asking some questions he will brush me off with short answers and proceed with what felt like the scenario for the tour. So after some time, I felt like there is no point to try having a conversation anymore. Lots of stops we visited were described as chain restaurants. Maybe it was lost in translation, but where we are coming from visiting a chain restaurant is actually not a good thing when looking for unique experiences. Worth mentioning, the food was delicious, its the way they were presented we thought could be improved. The guide did refer extensively to Isabelle and what a great expert in the food she is and we felt quite sad that we didn't get to meet her. I feel like it would have been a completely different experience :( To conclude, if you get to go with Isabelle, it is probably a very good way to explore the city, have some delicious small bites and learn about the history.
