Don't waste your money

Absolutely awful. A joke. It was an insult to be there, quite frankly. And to top it off THEY DONT GIVE REFUNDS! so you will lose your money too. Where to start? Big queue to get in. No idea why as when you get in you realise it's not a museum after all. It's inside a shop space. It has cheap tacky rubbish illusions on the walls. One broken and the handle off exposing the screw. Safety issue! It was jam packed so couldn't look at anything as felt rushed and children all over the exhibits. Nothing like what you see online. There's no lights or lasers or technology. It's rubbish, cheap, poor quality things on walls. More like a fun house at a circus. I thought it was a joke. There's an illusion tunnel that was so cheaply done you could hear the crinkle of the paper as it slowly went round, and the blobs of paint. In and out in less than 10 minutes. Emailed 4 times afterwards asking for a refund. They finally replied that there's no refunds. Absolute waste. They ought to be reported either to national museums governing bodies, ombudsman, government and the police for daylight robbery! Extortionate. Hope they read this and shut down. Don't waste your money, I promise you, you won't like it here

Dissapointing

It was overpriced and very small, I would not call it a museum. I would not recommend it and it was a complete waste of money.

Excellent & fascinating visit !

Perplexed by the various poor reviews. Me and my 10 year old son absolutely loved it ! Interesting and fun . And very few people there , so not busy at all. So glad we went . Recommend you get there at 10am when it opens, maybe it gets busier later. But fantastic hours fun.

Optical illusion museum

My son really enjoyed this however we visited the one in Brighton,England which is much better. It was very busy and didn’t think it would be so busy having a time slot

Super fun and interesting very interactive all the staff was super sweet overall it was really fun and a great experience

Too crowded for seeing!

Interesting and fun, but they let in way too many people, you can't move around and borderline dangerous with lots of excited children. Not worth the ticket price.

Not worth the ticket price

Not worth the ticket price at all. They let too many people into the few very small rooms. A couple of fun elements but otherwise unimportant boards old illustrations. You are through the "museum" in a maximum of 30 minutes, even if you walk around in a queue and constantly wait for the group in front of you to finish taking their pictures. Time reservation for tickets does not work, despite time reservation you stand in line outside for as long as the subsequent visit lasts

Best museum I have been to in a long time

It is so much fun. The interactive elements make it interesting it is so worth it. It was a hot day and completely comfortable inside

Last day in Paris

On our last morning in Paris, this was such a great way to spend time having fun before heading for home, funny, mind blowing, entertaining and fir all ages

Only go once

This museum is a chain museum. If you have been to it in other country’s such as Berlin or Amsterdam the illusions in the museum are the exact same. Nothing new bit of a waste of money but enjoyable if it’s your first time going.

Magical time at the Illusions Museum

We had an awesome visit to the Illusions Museum and discovered how some of those tricks of the eye and illusions are created! This is a small venue with lots to see, kid friendly - without taking too much time! Definitely worth this quick visit!

A bit Disappointing

Not very exciting or good. Small. They let in everyone, whether booked or not so too busy. If you are not a child, i would say it’s not worth it. Nice staff though

Ok time

It’s ok. Nothing great. Kills about 20-30 minutes of the day. Small and crampt space. Easy check in process.

No creativity

Most of the activities are either already known or very simple. Many activities just use mirrors to create multiple images. Just a waste of money.

Fun for the family

Went with family, including kids of 10/12yo. We were pleasantly surprised by this place. I guess it's (illusions/tricks of the eye/mind) got to be something you're interested in but, for our kids, it was the highlight of their visit to Paris! But us grown-ups also found it interesting and fun. We were probably there about 45mins, so it didn't quite fill an afternoon but good if you have an hour or so free. Convenient location as not far from Louvre etc. Only criticisms are that it felt a high price for what was <1hr experience - but then almost everything in Paris is expensive! It's also a small place so, whilst we found it manageable at the time we visited, I could see that it might get over-crowded and that might spoil the experience. I wouldn't say it'd be worth taking kids under age of 6/7yo as most of it would probably be lost on them.

Small museum , not busy and medium prices. The kids loved it. We were only there about 30 mins although could have been there max an hour.

Not worth the money

The museum takes 10 minutes For £45 it is not worth. An hour boat trip is cheaper. I wouldn't be able to recommend

Rubbish

This was a so beyond disappointing. It took 15 minutes to look at the “exhibition” and it cost the same as 3 hours in the Louvre. Also really shabby and unkempt Staff were nice though

Fun and Different

Lots of areas to take pictures, and they have staff members to take your picture if you are alone or in a couple. Interesting place all with interactive features and displays. A good 45mins of fun and laughs.

What a scam, tiny place overcrowded to the extreme and not worth it

The place is tiny and highly overcrowded, the time you book means nothing as they will let as many people as they can in regardless. There are huge queues to every since item and they are not even maintained well.

Great place for kids and family

Such a lovely place. My 3-year old son definitely loved it and spent nearly 2.5 hours in it. There are a lot of exhibitions that he tried multiple tomes. So many things for a toddler to do and to explore here. At the same time, it’s relatively small so that it won’t tire them. As for me and my husband, we also love the exhibitions and setting here and have a great time. But if it’s only the two of us, maybe 1-1.5 hour is more than enough.

Fun

Museum was really fun, it’s small but worth going. The vortex was the best illusion but still really enjoyed everything else. You can easily spend an hour here.

It’s ok

It was ok, very small. Thought there would have been more illusions etc. one thing I would recommend for the business is to have people at the stations to take the photos for you as some of them were hard to get the right angle and there is a queue of people waiting behind you. It would help to keep corridors free.

Interesting. Definitely for young children

Fun and interesting. I will recommend for those who has children to visit this place. It was crowded but it wad well maintained and organised.

Overpriced

Great to kill time, it is a bit fun but definitely not worth €15 p.p. It’s so small I wouldn’t call it a museum. We were back outside 20 minutes later. The website says something about a tour guide, however there isn’t..

Amazing

The vortex was the most exciting thing I made in the museum . After , some illusions did not work with me. But it's a good experience

Good for unusual photos

If you're into having good photos to share, this is the place to go. Lots of optical illusions, tricks of the eye and so on. We thought it would be an interesting little diversion to our day. In reality it was quite expensive, given it's small size, and quite full of people all trying to get the same photos. Wouldn't return.

Very small don’t waste your money

It’s really very small. There is no warning that it’s two levels and is really small. Having been to many of these around the world this is the poorest and for €72 for a family to spend 20 mins max in there…total waste of money

Great fun for the family

It was a fun place for the kids to spend some time. The staff were friendly and it wasn’t too crowded.

Interesting time with the family

The two best exhibits were the tunnel that makes you feel as if you are spinning and the tilted room…I could not walk straight. Great for kids. It was not too crowded between 11 & 12. Great restaurants within walking distance. It can be completed within an hour.

Short and sweet

Quite short and crowded. But great for small kids with short attention spans. Bit expensive perhaps for the experience

Fun for the kids!

This was a great little stop in Paris. It’s not very big so we were through in less than an hour. The kids 9&13 loved it. Two floors that you walk through. The staff checked us in and it is self paced.

Should have read the reviews first……

This is a great experience but you certainly don’t need more than an hour to go round and see all the exhibits and therefore it is overpriced…. It’s fun as it is an interactive experience and there are some great instagram opportunities if that is your thing.

Great experience

Great for families and couples! It is worth the visit! It’s great to go and take many pictures! Not as big as I hoped but still worth the visit!

This is really an experience for little kids not adults. It took us 10 minutes to get through the whole thing.

Too crowded.. Definitely a COVID super spreader event

The individual exhibits were cool but it was SO crowded it was totally unenjoyable. For several of them you had to stare at an image for 30 seconds or take a moment to get your group in position for the effect to work - multiply that by 30 or 40+ people and you’re standing in this giant crowd, shoulder-to-shoulder. Just my luck I avoid COVID for ~2 years only to catch it at this overcrowded exhibit. I would definitely pass on this, the line moved so slowly we skipped 1/2 of the exhibits because it just took too f’ing long. Waste. Of. Time.

Be careful when booking online

The problem was that I was directed to the Paris location while I was ordering my 5 online tickets. I thought I was ordering tickets for the New York location. When we arrived to the Museum of illusions in NYC, I was told they couldn’t honor our tickets because I had booked the Paris location. I was surprised to say the least! I had to re-purchase the tickets. The museum was good and our 10 year old really enjoyed it. Too bad it cost double the price for me!

Double check before purchase

I reserved tickets thinking this was in NYC and that the word “Paris” at the end was just part of the name, I had to re purchase tickets in the NYC museum in order to enter…

Booked tickets for Paris but live in NYC

I live in NYC and was unaware that this location was based in Paris when I bought my ticket. So when I showed up to the NYC location and they said my tickets were not in their system, I showed them the ones I bought here on trip advisor and they informed me that I bought tickets for Paris location. After that they informed me I would have to purchase new tickets to get in. I didn't have extra money for new tickets so I left.

Interesting visit

Interesting experience. A little od fun between friends. But the Visit is too short. Done within an hour.

Expensive but fun 25 minutes

Visited as a family of 4 and enjoyed it a lot but……. Way too expensive for the 25 minutes it too, us to do EVERYTHING. Had pre-booked tickets and entry times were respected, COVID protocols were ok although I would have liked to see evidence of more regular cleaning of the interactive illusions, the 3D wall mounted illusion was tatty and needs refreshing - for the price I expect near perfection. It was busy but easy enough to ‘do’ each illusion and not feel too rushed - there are lots of photo taking opportunities and with a family you do take up time doing this. I appreciate that business rates in Paris must be high but this is verges on rip off

Mind blowing

Went there after a pint of beer and felt like I’ve taken a tab of acid. It was a great experience that is as psychedelic as a jimi Hendrix guitar solo. The staff were very helpsome and friendly regarding booking an entre-ticket.

What a waste of €18...terrible!

Please do not waste your money in going go this. We went & it took us 23 minutes to walk around it & 20 minutes stuck waiting in a queue for a pre paid slot! The staff seem friendly however the place is very small & the illusions are poor! There is nothing that will really engage you or you would think wow! I felt ripped off!

This is for children

If you were wondering this museum is definitely for children. If you are 17 or older it's likely nothing in here will hold your attention for more than 30 seconds. It's also only two small floors and was crowded when I visited. If you're thinking it might be a good photo op then you're wrong. There is really only one good illusion for photos and it certainly isn't worth 18 euros.

wasted time

the idea of this museum is rather attractive but the final product is a disaster. 18 euros to not be able to enjoy anything beacuse of the over crowding of the increadibly small places inside. the photo oportunities depend on if you have someone to take your picture (they do not have stationary cameras that take your picture for eventually buying it) and the patience for waiting it to be available. the exposition is rather boring and limited. i would never recommed doing this museum

Mind blowing visit!

After visiting all 'a must' museums of Paris, we decided to add this one to our list and we made a great choice. Super friendly staff, and great engaging exhibits that profoundly raise the question in our heads: What is actually real? Thanks for a wonderful time!
