Bibiana made all the difference to our visit to the Louvre, she helped us see some wonderful paintings and chose some of the best ones for us to stop and look at in depth. We found her enthusiasm to be infectious. I have lived in France for almost 10 years now and never visited the Louvre, I knew how big it is and suspected it would be overwhelming and exhausting. However this was not the case for us, our visit went by smoothly as we were so engaged by the depth of Bibiana's detailed knowledge and we enjoyed ourselves enormously. Thank you Bibiana!

Great intro tour to louvre w Anna

We had a fun interesting tour of the louvre w Anna. She was kind enough to allow some extra time as getting to and getting in the louvre was extra busy on the day of our visit. It would be impossible to cover everything during the short time we had but she made the most of if with some history of the louvre itself then going to some of the major areas and getting the history behind done of the most iconic pieces. Her English is great snd she included bits of humor with the history. We certainly got through the crowds and saw and learned more than we would have on our own. A great value.

Private tour of the Louvre

Bibiana is a wonderful, knowledgeable, and passionate ambassador for the Louvre and for art history. Time flew by and she taught us the grand arc of art from the Greek sculptures through the magnificent innovations of the Renaissance painters. Our Withlocals tour of the Louvre with Julien was trés magnifique!

We had an amazing visit to the Louvre with Julien. He was very knowledgeable, showing us the key works of the Louvre and telling us many details about them that we would never have learned otherwise. He showed us quite a bit and our tour lasted longer than we expected; which was a nice surprise. We would absolutely recommend him to anyone for this tour.

Worth every penny

Our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 kids (6&8). Hugo made the tour amazing for each one of us! His enthusiasm and knowledge of all of the spaces made all of us have an amazing time. The lines were exceptionally long the day we went, and he was able to navigate us in quickly keeping our kids entertained. 8yr says “ he was very intelligent and explained everything perfectly “ 6yr old says “he was really kind “

Smiling like Mona Lisa

Hugo was great. I can’t imagine visiting the louvre for the first time without a guide. The museum is huge and can be overwhelming. Hugo led us to the most interesting items quickly, avoiding crowds while explaining bits of history the entire time. Upon completion, we were able to stay and wonder around as we felt fit. We also visited the cafe in the second floor which has a great view of the glass pyramid. Art is not what you see, but what you make others see…

2 hour tour of the Louvre!! Fernanda is the best

We booked a 2 hour tour with Fernanda and what a treat!! Her communication ahead of time helped to us to have an amazing time. As an art historian with knowledge of all the museums you will love her extensive knowledge. We learned about medieval and renaissance art, and understood more of the historical context of the culture at those times! She made our time together an enriching experience! The Louvre is huge and yet with Fernanda it was private and and so enjoyable. 👍🏻🇫🇷👍🏻🇺🇸

Best art tour

Hugo gave us a fantastic tour of the Louvre; he kept our daughters (ages 11 & 13) quite engaged and taught us all so many insightful and fascinating things about the collection and the history of the museum. One of the highlights of our time in Paris!

Lucien is a storehouse of history and stories of Paris. We were on a tight schedule and Lucien helped us beat the queue and he guided us through the various exhibits without ever making it feel hurried. When we return we now know (thanks to Lucien) exactly where we need to spend time at the Louvre. I would highly recommend Lucien.

Perfect Louvre Tour!

We had an amazing experience with Hugo as our guide! The combination of a separate entrance (an avoiding the crazy entry line despite times entry tickets) and customized tour that went against the grain of the timed visitors gave us fewer crowds at the major attractions. Hugo gave us such a wonderful tour and insight to some of the lesser known pieces and gave us incredible back story and history alongside the works he highlighted. After the tour he gave us recommendations of wings and pieces we hadn’t seen yet to optimize our time in the museum. He was knowledgeable, funny, and such a great guide!! Would absolutely recommend and was worth every penny!

Great experience

Would do this again. Hugo, our guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable. Our two teenage daughters aren’t really ever interested in going to museums but they had a great time and seemed to appreciate other museums after that where we didn’t go with a guide.

Great tour! Went at 9am and skipped the line and got to the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo with hardly anyone there

A journey through time

I really liked the historical context provided by the local guide (Bibliana). She provided the history of the Louvre and many of the key paintings and sculptures. So all good. If I some feedback it would be that it was tricky to find Bibliana at the beginning of the tour outside the Pyramid. There are lots of people there. So perhaps a sign would be helpful.

Louvre Tour

We were in Paris with our two grandkids and contacted Chrystelle to guide us through the Louvre. She was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about all that we saw and she made it interesting for boh the younger and the older ones. She was very attuned to the kids and explained the works of art and their backgrounds without talking down to them and yet remained very interesting for the adults. i highly recommend Chrystelle as an informative and engaging guide for both adult groups and families.

Amazing tour

Our experience with Julien at the Louvre was fantastic. He is warm, friendly, professional and extremely knowledgable. He's obviously ben doing this a long time because he knew all the tricks to make our experience as seemless as possible. My 13 year old and 10 year old learned a lot, and the adults too! Fantastic way to see some highlights of The Louvre

Julien was a legend. The whole experience was seamless. He was in contact with us prior to our tour so we knew where to meet. We got straight in to see the Mona Lisa with no crowds, then he took us to some other highlights. He made the tour interesting for our kids (ages 14 & 16). It was so great not having to stress about finding our own way around.

Fascinating tour of the Louvre

We had an amazing experience with Hugo. His knowledge and passion for the works of art and the building itself gave us such an incredible gateway into the Louvre. With such an enormous collection it can be overwhelming but Hugo focused on what we asked him to select as his highlights. He guided us through the museum and with an excellent sense of narrative gave us a tour we will not soon forget. Fantastic tour of the Louvre with Chrystelle from WithLocals.

We have nothing but praise for our tour of the Louvre with Chrystelle over the winter holidays. We reached out in advance to Chrystelle because our tickets were for a time slot later than her last posted availability (bc the museum was open later than usual that day) and she promptly pivoted to join us for the evening tour. It was easy to coordinate our meet up, and she adapted her tour in a way that both engaged my kids (ranging in age from 10 to 16) as well as me and my husband. We had a shortened tour duration due to the timing of ticketing/museum closure and she was a whiz at efficiently bringing us to see key works, using her binder of images to teach in more depth about the art work and yet able to pause and answer questions in detail about literally any painting we pointed out. In spite of it all, we never felt rushed and remarkably it left my kids wanting more (a first for a museum visit, for sure!). It's evident she has an exceptional depth of knowledge and I would encourage anyone looking for a great museum tour to choose Chrystelle.

Wonderful Guide

Wonderful tour of the Louvre. Highly recommend. Emilie made it seem effortless despite the Louve being very busy. We learned a lot about the buildings as well as the art within.

Delightful and Knowledgable

Julien was amazingly delightful and incredibly knowledgeable. He knew exactly where to take us and how to make the most of our time especially when it came to navigating certain areas of the Louvre being closed(a bit of info we did not know until very last minute). Would absolutely book another tour with Julien in the future and will recommend him to all of our friends and family!

My adult daughters and I did the Louvre tour with Julien and we enjoyed every bit of it. He efficiently took us through, focusing on important and interesting pieces and telling stories to go along with each. We will definitely do another tour with Julian when we are back.

Tour with Julien is a Must!

Julien was a fabulous guide through the Louvre. Fluent in English, knowledgeable and engaging, he tailored a 2 hour tour for 2 of us, allowing us to use 'back stairs' access and providing lots of history and facts about the paintings we hadn't heard. I believe this is the only way to enjoy the Louve. He even extended our tour for an additional 1/2 hour without charging extra! A must and be sure to choose Julien for your tour!

Chrystelle was fantastic! My husband and I had a private tour. She reached out prior to our trip asking if we purchased entrance tickets into Le Louvre and if not, she would get them and we could just reimburse her. This was such a huge help. Excellent private tour of the Louve

We booked a private tour for just the two of us. Elenore walked us through 10 pieces with in the Louve and then allowed us to wander alone, which worked great. She walked us through the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, statues of the Godesses Nike and Artemis. With each piece, she had a story and background and pointed out several differences in the timing of different paintings. One surprising nice visit was to see the newly opened "moat" of the original castle that sat on the Louve location. Very interesting. We would have never walked through that if we didn't have a guide. The key thing is to not feel overwhelmed as you walk in to a large place like the Louve. Eleonore did a great job to highly key exhibits and make it a great experience.

A private tour of the Louvre is a great way to hit the highlights. Our tour guide knew how to navigate the building and make the most of our time inside. Skipping the lines is well worth the price of the tour. He also did a great job of teaching us about different styles of art and the traits of specific artists - it was a highly engaging and interesting tour! We will definitely go back to the Louvre and book another private tour.

Very Knowledgeable

Our tour with Anna was very enjoyable. Although the Louvre was very crowded, she navigated us with ease. She showed us the most important pieces and was very knowledgable about the art and the history of the museum.

The Louvre with teens (who aren't museum fans)

We spent the morning with Emilie at the Louvre with our three teens: 13, 15 & 17. Over the past few years we have taken them to many museums and historical sites in Europe and they were starting to dread "another museum or church", but the Louvre was on their bucket list. Emilie was the perfect guide for our family. Her tour was the perfect combination of the history of the Louvre and visiting the key pieces of art. She gave the just right amount of information on each piece to capture the attention and imagination of our kids. Highly recommend!

Perfect Louvre Experience!

Our family had the BEST time exploring the Louvre with Miss Fernanda - she was very animated and knowledgeable, and we could tell she loved her job! Fernanda knew all the secret ins-and-outs of the facility and enjoyed sharing them with us. It truly was so much fun!

Family Friendly

Julien met our family of four at the agreed location/time. Excellent communication leading up to the start. We were in the Louvre within 5 minutes. It is a genuine skip the line entrance. We proceeded to Mona Lisa before the crowds arrived. We then spent the remaining tour covering 15+ paintings in detail. Fascinating tour. Julien was enthusiastic about the art, the Louvre and Paris in general. We appreciated the insights and the connections between art and history which made our overall Paris experience more enjoyable. One key point to conclude - Julien is very good at engaging children with the subject. It is an interactive tour.

Very friendly and knowledgeable Guide

I booked a guided tour with Henrick in the Louvre for my 12-year old daughter and me. It was a very nice experience. He was early at the rendez-vous point and with his help we went relatively quick through the baggage controls and so on. Henrick is a very nice and friendly person, has very extensive knowledge of the Louvre building, its history and of course the works of art inside. In addition, he is very knowledgeable on French history in general. He also explained things for my daughter to understand some of the art works better. Next to showing and explaining the ‘regular’ highlights of the Louvre, I really liked his explanations of the paintings of the period of the French Revolution. At the end of the tour, he showed us where we could see the Flemish and Dutch masters which we liked to see, being from the Netherlands. In short, I definitely recommend Henrick as a guide to the Louvre museum. Henk Douwes

Fun and teen-proof

I went to Louvre with my 14-yo daughter for whom looking at thousands of paintings is not exactly her idea of fun. Eléonore clean knew that. She used historical anecdotes and her knowledge of and passion for art to introduce the museum and showcases its biggest masterpieces in a smooth and engaging tour. As a result we both loved the experience despite differences of knowledge and experience.

The best guide in Paris!

We enjoyed the Louvre with Julien so much; he was dynamic, funny and knowledgeable. He definitely knows how to tell a story; he adapted the tour accordingly to our requests and made us feel like we were walking through a line of time. I wished all my history teachers were like him. My next time in Paris, I will book more tours with him!
