Normandy D-Day Landing Beaches Day Trip with Cider Tasting & Lunch from Paris

DO NOT RECOMMMEND, DO NOT BOOK, WAY TO RUSHED

We went to Normandy on June 4. We were looking forward to our time at Omaha Beach, the Cemetary, and Utah Beach. We had no amount of time there. The day was rushed. The museum was closed. You SHOULD NOT book any tours the week of June 6 as there are so many people. This isn't your first trip there, we paid alot of money for this tour and why in the world would you stop for us to taste cider. That was a couple hours driving there and being there and driving back out of there. We would have preferred time at Normandy. I would get rid of that cider stop. On the way, we stopped at a roadside store where there were 10 other tour buses and we were allotted a few minutes to use the facilities. The lines were so long, it was so claustrophobic, there were females running into the male bathroom. There had to be other places. We had two tour guides and when we did stop, no clue why one didn't take a small group of us while the other did the same. Break it up to see more. But instead we all tried to stay with our one tour guide through the masses of people. When we got to Utah Beach we had to hurry through the museum. We couldn't even watch the video they had. We couldn't see everything. And then the bus driver was 30 minutes late picking us up where we all stood around when we could have been still looking at what was there. And then a long drive back and another stop at another little convenience store. It was such a long day and alot of driving. I would chuck the cider stop, allow more time at the other places. Extremely disappointed.

Gorgeous views and great day!

Raymond was incredibly knowledgeable and informative. He kept the bus ride entertained with lots of historical stories and anecdotes on our way to the various D-Day site. Utah beach was beautiful as was the Amemrican Cemetary. We drove by Omaha Beach which was also stunning! The ride through the French countryside was breathtaking. Book this trip if you have the time to get out of Paris for one day. You won’t regret it!

Our tour guide, Raymond, was knowledgeable and friendly. The sites were incredibly moving. Overall, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Missed tour.

Unfortunately we missed our tour. The tour pickup location was changed and we received your email indicating such about two weeks prior to tour. However, the information on your site did not reflect the changed pickup point and we inadvertently scheduled our transportation to the wrong location and missed the tour.

Wonderful experience!

This was the best tour we have taken while in Europe! Our tour guide, Daniel, was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the war, and a great storyteller. Highly recommend.

Great experience!

We had Daniel as our tour guide and he was fantastic! He gave us so much information and was really knowledgeable on everything. I would have liked a little more time at the Utah Beach museum but we were still able to see everything we wanted.

Amazing Surreal experience

This was an incredible experience, while this trip was very rushed and we had very limited time for bathroom breaks and food, the lines were incredibly long so plan accordingly. I highly recommend this tour, we enjoyed seeing the preparations for DDay and the surreal scenery. It's breathtaking to say the least.

Great guides, fantastic drivers. Surreal sites with limited time, so pick your highlights you want to see wisely.

Great tour. Visiting the WWII sites were surreal. For us, we could have gone without the cider tasting and stayed at the Utah Beach museum longer. We essentially took pictures of the plaquards so we can read later. However, seeing these sites was remarkable. Raymond and Eric were fantastic guides! The bus drivers are amazing. It's incredible what they can make it through.

Rushed Tour Left Little Time for exploration

While the locations were historically significant and the guide was knowledgeable, the tour felt rushed. We were only given 10-15 minutes at the second location, which was particularly disappointing.

A great day trip out of Paris

So happy we chose this tour! It was a great day trip out of Paris. This tour packed a lot of great stops into one day, including a cider tasting at a family apple tree farm and it was just such a great little addition. Our tour guides Raymond and Eric were super knowledgeable and knowledgeable.

Very enjoyable day that I learnt a lot from. Raymond and Eric were fantastic guides with lots of information and commentary along the way.

Normandy=history=cool+fun times

I liked the huge plane in the museum and the cool german bunker that I was able to walk through. It reminded me of fort abacrombie.

Great tour but too little time at American Cemetery

Great trip except for too little time at the American Cemetery to get to the most impressive section of the grounds (as told by the guide later). We needed at least another 15 minutes. I told both guides so they would hopefully pass it on. Maybe less time or skip the cider tasting.

Make this your first stop

Great family trip. Ash the tour guide spoke fluent English and was very informative not only about the subject of Dday/Normandy but also travel in and around Paris. I wish we had done this tour the first day in Paris.

A great day trip

Ash was a fantastic tour guide, full of interesting stories and history but also travel tips and recommendations. Obviously Normandy is a fair drive from Paris centre so there is a lot to cram in on one day, but I think the balance was just about right - maybe a little more time at the Utah beach museum might be nice.

Densely packed experiences

The trip overall was excellent and everything as advertised. It packed a lot of varying activities all into one. The tour guide Ash was incredible! He was very knowledgeable and funny, and made the experience great. The only thing that hurt the experience was the rushed schedule. At just about every stop we would be taking everything in, the emotions, history and scenery, but would feel cut off and have to rush back to the bus. That being said, we thoroughly enjoyed the variety throughout the day and especially Ash's personality!

Fantastic well-rounded experience!

Our guide Ash was phenomenal! Not only was he informative for the explanatory portion of the D-Day tour, but he also shared some tips for traveling around Paris during the return bus journey. My husband and I enjoyed the Utah Beach museum the most, but the American cemetery, lunch, and cider tasting were also fun! Overall, it was a worthwhile experience and we highly recommend it if you’re wanting a D-Day tour from Paris.

Exactly what we were looking for! It was perfect. We were able to see all the sites in one day. Bus was new and clean.

C’est une bon voyage

Ash, our guide, was great! Very knowledgeable, personable, funny. I could have done without the cider stop. Seemed like a bit of a time filler. Would have preferred to cut that and spend more time at Utah Beach.

Great Normandy trip with Ash!!

Terrible Customer Service

Due to a car crash on the way to the tour I was unable to make the bus. When I reached out to customer service they said they would not refund my money even though it was completely out of my hands. The customer service is a scam and their refund policy is ridiculous. I would not recommend using Trip Advisor tours.

Cancel lunch and cider tasting

I attended June 4th so it was very busy. I signed up for this for the D Day beaches, information etc. When it is extra busy like this please change your schedule. Cancel the lunch, give me a sandwich to eat on the bus and cancel the cider testing. Personally I would never want to stop for these things but especially around D Day. After a four hour drive at our first stop we were told we had 40 minutes. The three stops we had about 40 minutes at each spot. Hardly time to stop and reflect on the entire reason I chose to take this tour.

The tour to Normandy that never happened.

No experience you didn’t pick my wife and I and others because you didn’t come to the address given and we tried to we text you and you didn’t respond. We also tried to call and you gave us wrong numbers.

Normandy trip!

Tour guide gave us history lesson that was amazing! Wish we had more time to see cemetery. Felt very rushed at times. Lunch was great and the wine tasting was excellent.

Great way to see the highlights of Normandy in a day.

Our tour stopped at Utah Beach, the D-Day museum, Port du hoc/Omaha Beach and the American Normandy cemetery. We had lunch at a local restaurant with 3 choices for meals and also stopped at a local Cider Farm for a cider tasting. All of the stops were wonderful. It was really moving to see the bunkers, the bomb craters and all the artifacts from WWII. Raymond was a great tour guide and was really knowledgeable. He gave us lots of background information while we were on the bus. One downfall to the trip was our timing. We took our tour several days after the 80th anniversary of D-Day so several locations were still closed while they were cleaning up from the celebrations. The only other negatives were that it was quite a large tour (close to 40 people) so it could be hard at times to hear the tour guide. And we wished we had a little more time at each of the stops. It felt rushed at times. But seeing as this was a day trip from Paris, we really did see a lot.

D-Day Beaches

The trip to Normandy's beaches was educational and fascinating. We really enjoyed looking through the museums and having free time during the tour. Raymond was a good tour guide. He was friendly and informative. He gave us a LOT of good information about the region, the people and history. I would've liked to have had more time at the beaches and elimated the stop at the cider tasting, as it had nothing to do with our interest in D-Day. The stop was unnecessary and a time-waster.

Relaxing and meaningful tour

We had a wonderful time on our tour of the DDay beaches. Our guide Raymond was clear and helpful. He kept everything on schedule and provided wonderful information throughout the trip. This was such a relaxing way to see Normandy all you have to do is just show up and they take it from there. Highly highly recommend. We got to see Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, American Cemetery, and Pont du Hoc. Included was lunch and cider tasting at a local farm. It was a fantastic day!

Raymond was very knowledgeable and adaptable to the various closures associated with the remembering ceremony and festivities.

Normandy Beaches guided tour

Raymond did an excellent job telling the history of the area and the events leading to D Day. He was a fabulous tour guide and we would highly recommend him and Viator tours.

Normandy is a moving experience.

The guides were fantastic and so knowledgeable. It was a great experience but due to approaching 80th anniversary, we weren’t able to go to the American Cemetery as traffic was so heavy. The cider stop was wonderful. I would definitely recommend.

Fun but bus ride was not good.

Fun tour. Guide were great. Bus ride was not good. We had to sit apart. Many youth took 2 seats would not share. Not a good time on the bus.

Great trip for group of 3 generations

Our group of 5 really enjoyed the tour. We appreciated the variety of stops, seeing several sites instead of a long time at just one. Both Ash and Thelma were very knowledgeable about the area and the history there.

Fantastic tour and guide/not what we signed up for

Raymond, our guide was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared great information prior to arriving and at each site. The tour we got was not what we signed up for. We signed up for “a small group of 6-8 people on a van”. We got an almost 50 person group on a bus. I wonder if we would have had more time at each stop if we didn’t have to figure in waiting for 50 people to regroup each time we had to move on.

Great time——very educational

Excellent tour guide——very knowledgeable and friendly. Made an extra stop so that we could see Omaha Beach and gave us 5 minutes to explore. This was not in the plan and it was amazing. Lunch was delicious with enough options for everyone.

Amazing trip with an amazing guide

Raymond was the best! His knowledge of history and the surrounding countryside was truly impressive. Also want to give a shout out to our driver who made driving down narrow, village roads seem effortless.

Great time visiting Normandy

We planned to sightsee Paris and saw an opportunity to visit Normandy as a once in a lifetime chance. Every aspect was well managed and communicated. It worked as planned and if not, equal alternatives due to traffic or celebrations were incorporated. We loved it! More time us our only request! It was a very long day but restful and informative

Daniel is great!

Daniel was great and super knowledgeable about both Normandy and DDay beaches but also Paris and surrounding areas. He was also pretty funny too. Recommend the fish for lunch!

Informative and educated tour guide and tour!

Daniel was a very knowledgeable guide and kept everyone informed on the places that we visited. One day is not enough, and this tour just touches on every historical place in Normandy. We were blessed to be able to take this tour as they were finishing up all the festivities from the 80th celebration of D-Day and we were able to see planes and parachute drops and so many tanks, jeeps, and army soldiers! Great job! Great tour!
