Mont Saint Michel Guided Tour with Abbey Visit from Paris

Highly recommend

Driver/guide was intuitive, funny, and informative. The drive doesn’t seem that long when you factor in the rest break on the way and on the way back. Plenty of time at the location to sight see, picture take, and eat/shop. Highly recommend.

Fun as heck day

I think we went on Saturday June 10 with a tour guide named Alex, a woman from Hong Kong, some people from Portugal, and someone from a Spanish speaking country. Alex brought a lot of energy and positivity and made a good tour better. I did tours myself and I think he's a guy who is always adding new tricks and abilities such as new languages or new historical knowledge. He seems to have good relations with local cider makers. My wife loved this trip, possibly more than anything else we did. Mt. St. Michele is like if Hogwarts and Minas Tirith had a baby. It's an amazing gorgeous place. When you pick a restaurant try not to pick the first one you see necessarily. Check out several places and make a decision. We picked one with an outdoor terrace but it was not that great. The ramparts and Abbey are incredible. Be respectful or else. The flocks of seagulls are very aggressive and will almost attack you if they think you have something in your hands. Be ready to scare them off. The minivan was cramped, but I eventually realized if I sat in a certain spot I could stretch out better. The tour guide will make at least one stop in both directions for bathrooms/food. However the places we stopped had no toilet seats, which was bizarre and disgusting.

Worth the visit!

We picked this trip to get a little more time at Mont Saint Micel and were glad we did. Amazing place to visit.

Guide that drove us was great. I don’t think you need to stay 4 hours. Everyone in van thought too long.

As I said long drive there and back. Don’t need as much time there. 4 hours there too long. Most were ready to leave an hour earlier

A wonderful place in France to see!

Honestly, the best tour I could have booked! The guide was lovely and spoke at least 3 different languages to those on our tour. It was the perfect amount of free time and I honestly loved this place! 100% would recommend if you have a spare day in Paris book this day trip.

An unforgettable, magical lovely memory

On 13/4/2023 my family composed of six people took a private day tour from Eurodisney to Mont St Michel. We had an excellent driver Florian who served us also as a guide. Florian is a really young nice person. To us he really was helpful and kind showing all rhe important things to visit.

I loved the self- guided abbey tour. I could move at my own pace. Roland was great! He provided some history of Mont St. Michel.

Excellent trip I had ever

Excellent trip and the driver(I didn’t remember his name and he is from Nice) was nice and experienced for driving such long time and distance from Paris to saint Michel. I really wanna give him credit. The duration time that we stayed in Saint Michel was fair enough and free time was provided. I appreciated that tour was small in group and the car was so comfortable.

Amazing Landmark - Must Visit

Mont St Michel is an amazing place, if you are visiting Paris, put aside a day to take a trip to Normandy to visit the Abbey, have lunch in one of the many restaurants. The trip is long, but worth it. Driver was excellent.

Transportation very uncomfortable

Good trip but transportation is on an old and ver small van. Very uncomfortable for a long trip. The company needs to invest on better means of transport.

Majestic Tour

Our group consisted of 5 people and we had a lot of fun. The drive was about 4 hours each way and we spent 5 hours at Mont Saint Michel. The location was beautiful. The driver was very kind.

Good but not Great

Left promptly which was nice and was a relatively small group, less than 15 people in a single level tour bus. Seats were okay, a little cramped. They advertise AC but we couldn’t tell if they ever put the air on. It’s about a 5-5 1/2 hour drive in reality with the 2 bathroom stops and mandatory driver break during the busy season. Our guide Alejandro and driver were very nice but the extent of information started and ended when we arrived there in essentially a 2 min overhead speech about the Mont’s formation and was told they will reimburse the audio guide. So essentially you are paying for a bus ride there and back, not a guided tour. I did appreciate him staying with everyone and helping navigate us to the shuttle or offer ways to walk ourselves to the Mont though. The Mont and Abbey tour we completed self guided in under 2 hours, the. grabbed a bite and walked around till bus left promptly again at 5. I would recommend going back down to the village to get food if the crowds are too busy on the Mont. I would have given 5 stars but they dropped us off at the Arc De Triumph at 9:30 pm instead of the original pick up location which is more than 30 minutes away walking. I think that’s really inappropriate and unprofessional as well as false advertising, ticket clearly states return to original location but they might as well just say Paris. After being up for 17 hours for this tour being dropped off that far away was a little upsetting.

Fairytale

I absolutely enjoyed the tour and I would recommend it to anyone! The view it’s like from a fairytale! The weather was beautiful and I had my best birthday walking on the tiny cute streets! It’s a must go place!

This trip and our guide- Serge, far exceeded our expectations.

We originally picked this particular tour as it offered the best price for a Mont Saint Michel tour from Paris. We are an American couple and were joined by two other families a mother and son from Mexico and a 3 person family from Singapore. What really made our trip memorable was our guide Serge. He was well versed in the history of the area. He also spoke fluent English, Spanish as well as French of course. When my partner had a medical issue as we entered the Abbey, Serge was extremely helpful, translating for us and making sure we were very well taken care of. He went way beyond what was required and was genuinely concerned for her well being. The trip itself was incredible and well worth the cost and time. We highly recommend it and Serge.

So glad we went in spite of the long drive

Mont St Michel is like few beautiful vistas we have seen in our travels. Not exactly Taj Mahal, but it sits in its own league. So cute to see the flock of lambs running out to feed on grass growing on sea water. Impressive as to how they built something like this hundreds of years ago out in nowhere s ville. Admission was economical but the ride costs quite a bit, but it was worth it.

Great place, terrible guide

Tour started off in a van that was too small for 8 people and a driver. Couldn't move. 3 different languages so guide had to repeat everything 3 times. Guide was crap. Spoke very soft and people in the second and back seat couldn't hear him. Not outgoing, didn't point out landmarks along the way. When we got there, we thought we were in our own because of little communication. He found us and gave us the tickets we needed to enter. Almost a 4 hour ride home in total silence.

Winter in Mont Saint-Michel

Amazing trip. It was nice that not many people were visiting and I highly suggest that you join a small group (ours was 7). The view was amazing, and the tide was low so you can really see the village standing out. Might be a good experience too if it was high tide as well, so it would look as if it was floating. But overall, it was great. My friend and I enjoyed it

Mont Saint Michel guided tour from Paris

The tour was amazing the drive there was very scary as doing 100 to 120 in the pouring down rain and very windy was the worst part however surviving was the best of course our guide was an amazing guide very informative and pointed out small details in Paris that I would’ve never notice and I’ve been to Paris more than once also pointed out small details During our trip to Mont Saint Michel Gave us four hours of free time pointed out some of the best restaurants. It is a long drive it’s 4 Hours each way with a bathroom break two hours in to the trip But you do have four hours of free time to spend once you’re there. If you have any problems walking this is not the trip for you you do have to walk a mini stairs before you start climbing the 350 steps to get to the top however you do have to climb another hundred to 150 steps to actually get to the Abbey once you’re in the Abbey as you continue to explore you will continue to go up and down a series of stairs

Beautiful trip from Paris. this place is a wonder in itself. the land in the middle of the sea, a little village and then the abbey. the Abbey is serene. architectural wonder too. Michelin star restaurant there serving wood flame omelettes. scenic beauty. drive from paris is almost 4 hours but worth it.

Incredible Tour

Ancient times are so appealing. The guided tour was well worth it. Small shops and lots of restaurants. Plenty for the whole family.

Disorganised reception staff but great tour

We had booked the day tour few months on advance and we check in on the day at 7am at the tour agency and the lady advises that the driver is sick, so tour is cancelled! Well, where is the back up person then? She was not even apologetic and gave me three options, go on Normandy tour, refund or change dates. Luckily we could change things around and changed it to the next day. But there were other people that had things booked the other days. We heard that they cancel tours when not fully booked, this is not fair on customers. It affects everyone's plans. If they dont het sufficient customers, then don't offer it as a daily tour. Lots of people were frustrated. Anyway, take 2 on the next day. Our tour driver was Serge and he was absolutely awesome. 4 hours each way, additional time for one stop for break each way which was good as it breaks it up. Serge gave us proper information along the way and instructions when we got there. We arrived at 12:30pm and started at the abbey (priority ticket included). After that, we had free time until 4:30pm, which was sufficient given we had to return to Paris the same day. We arrived back in Paris at 8:45pm. Loved the tour, thanks to Serge and his jokes.

Lovely day - at Mont Sain Michel

Thank you to all members of the staff France Tourisme. You were so helpfull organizing my 2 excursions in France. My husband and I had the trip to Mont Saint Michel and Versailles, and we will recomand them to all our friends. Our lovely guide in Mont Sain Michel was Margot, she knows so many things about Normandy, and France history...really wanna to come back know to try other excursions...may be Giverny next time !

Not worth the money

Our host was lovely however a few things to note: 1. Our driver was an hour late picking us up from the pick up point at Saint Mont Michel. This didn’t mean we had extra time at Saint Mont Michel as the pickup location or further away. It just meant we were waiting in the cold for an hour. Our host tried to contact him several times with no answer. The host had to go and look for him around town and then bring him back. He came back with a friend who didn’t come on the trip with us and then half back on the return journey got in a car with his friend at a gas station and left unannounced. Another driver then took over. 2. It said we would receive an audio guide. I did not 3. Very limited time at location. Just enough to climb to the top of the abbey and then take a quick short walk back down and then get on the shuttle bus to take us back to the pickup location. Where we then waited for an hour to be picked up. Would not recommend at all

Left stranded

The only reason is give this company 2 stars is because our guide, Nicholas, was FANTASTIC. If not for him, I would give this company 0 stars. We did a day trip to Mont St Michel on Monday, April 22nd, 2019. We paid for pick up and drop off service from/our hotel. Pick up service was fine and our tour was fine. The problem came with the return. Apparently this company doesn’t take traffic into account when you are returning from an excursion that is 4 hours from Paris. We encountered quite a bit of traffic on the return back, so instead of getting back at 9pm our bus didn’t get back until 10pm. Before we even arrived back, our tour guide, Nicholas, came to me and said that because of traffic and the bus being delayed, our ride back to our hotel was being cancelled. I’m sorry, but WHAT??!! Mind you I am a single female with my 17 year old daughter, and this was first trip overseas. We knew NOTHING about the taxis or the metro system and UBER was saying it would be a wait of 30 minutes. Anger was coming off of me in massive waves. How do you not account for TRAFFIC?!! This was horrible. When we finally get back, of course the company is closed and there is no way to get help from anyone. TERRIBLE SERVICE. Here is where the 2 stars I did give this place come in. Our guide, Nicholas, saw how upset I was and asked where we were staying. He took time from going home himself to get us back to our hotel. He didn’t have a car, but he took us on the metro. Stayed with us on the train, and then walked us to our hotel. That man is what customer service is all about. I can’t say the same for the rest of this company. It took a beautiful day and made it a horrible experience. I did get refunded for the return trip, but trust me when I say, customer safety and satisfaction is not a priority at all for this company. If you book through them, do not use the pickup/drop off hotel option because the slightest delay will cause them to cancel it....even TRAFFIC DELAYS. This company needs to incorporate a practice of staying open until all of their buses are back in case of issues like this. Closing. and leaving people stranded is a horrible way to do business.

Beautiful experience!!!

Beautiful experience, recommended if traveling with small children, an excellent break after an intense morning walk. The guide and staff were very kind and the tour is really worth it! The snack break is also excellent, not at all obvious and included in the price. The only flaw: we were sitting in the first places, but people often crowded in front of us, forcing us to get up... Maybe we could make it compulsory to sit? In the end, you can see everything well regardless of your seat. Very nice boat and not at all massive. Super super recommended!!!

Avec ma maman nous avons fait une visite au Mont Saint Michel hier le mardi 30 mai 2023. Notre guide Monsieur Pierre était très bien du début jusqu’à la fin. Nous étions en de bonnes mains avec lui. A très bientôt.

A Viator vendeu o que não tinha para entregar. Vendeu passeio a SAN Michel para 01/01/2023 com visita a abadia incluída, cobrou por isto e neste dia a abadia não abre. Na véspera envia e-mail quando ninguém está olhando e-mail em que apenas oferece o reembolso do ingresso na abadia e do áudio guia, sem oportunizar a troca do passeio para um outro dia. Assim o grupo frustrado e com receio de ter um prejuízo maior resolveu ir a SAN Michel sem a possibilidade de conhecer a cereja do bolo que é a Abadia. Diga-se que por informações ficamos ciente de que a Abadia NUNCA abre no dia 01/01, então quem vendeu sabia que não iria entregar o que estava vendendo. Assim foi desonesto e merece ser processado por isto, o CDC está aí pra proteger o consumidor contra estas fraudes.

La mitad del grupo no pudo ingresar a la abadía (que es el objetivo del viaje) por problemas del código QR. No se nos reembolso la entrada ni nada. El guía es buena gente, pero es más un chofer que guía turístico. Por todo lo demás, el lugar es muy bonito.

Hermoso!!

Excelente Experiencia !! Realmente hermoso, rico en su historia, único. Vale realmente la pena vivirlo, con mi compañero tuvimos la oportunidad de viajar con el excelente Guía y conductor Sergio quien nos fue comentando de manera detallada diferentes aspectos sobre la abadía e historia que la rodea. Nos recogieron en el punto de encuentro, su agencia, frente al Louvre temprano, 7 am, cave destacar que la empresa a esa hora no ha abierto y estuvimos de regreso a las 20:30 al mismo lugar de partida. Nosotros dos uruguayos, un viaje largo si.. pero tiene recompensa, la Abadía es hermosísima, la vista e historia despampanate.. Quienes tengan oportunidad no duden de hacer el tour. Saludos!! Majestuoso Mont Saint Michel

Fue una buena experiencia. Tom nuestro guia fue de mucha ayuda. Nos dio buenos consejos para comer en el Mont Saint Michel. También nos dio buenas recomendaciones para cenar a nuestro regreso a Paris. Hicimos buenas amistades en el tour. Se lo recomiendo no deben dejar de ir a este maravilloso destino.

Trasporte a MOnt St Michel

Me gustó la actividad, salimos puntuales y el guía Alex fue muy amable, manejaba muy bien y nos dio recomendaciones de cosas para hacer, nos dejó en la puerta del transfer y nos recogió a la hora indicada en el lugar de reunión. Hay que saber que el tour no es guiado ya dentro de la abadía, solamente es el servicio de transporte desde París, ya que el guía no explica la historia del lugar ni nada. Muy agradable viaje

Cumplieron lo ofrecido, el lugar es hermoso, aúnque son 5 horas de viaje de ida y 5 de vuelta vale la pena, la guía dio indicaciones en Español, francés e inglés, muy amable y sonriente, el chófer del bus manejo prudentemente , salimos y regresamos en la hora programada

Prenez plutôt le train !

Le lieu est évidemment magique, pour un passionné d'art médiéval j'en ai pris plein les yeux. En revanche, le voyage en minibus est épuisant, le conducteur s'est contenté de quelques commentaires succincts quelques minutes avant l'arrivée, dans un anglais et un espagnol catastrophiques, et nous a donné rendez-vous avant l'horaire initialement prévu pour le retour, ce qui fait que nous avons dû écourter notre visite déjà rapide et que nous sommes rentrés à Paris une heure plus tôt. Je vous conseille vivement d'opter plutôt pour l'offre de la SNCF : aller-retour en train + bus depuis Montparnasse, et acheter en ligne votre billet coupe file. Vous aurez plus de temps sur place, le même service et cela vous reviendra moins cher (et à moindre bilan carbone).

El lugar vale la pena

Nos acercamos 15 minutos antes al punto de partida acordado (la agencia de viaje) la cual abrió a las 7am, horario señalado como de salida. Nos hicieron entrar y registrarnos. El guía llegó 7.10 y el micro 7.15hs. Faltaban 4 personas que nunca llegaron y terminamos saliendo a las 8hs... UNA HORA TARDE!!! Sobre el guía, Benjamin, los bueno es que hablaba en inglés y en español, lo malo es que sólo habló al principio y 15 minutos antes de llegar al pueblo Saint Michel. Dijo que los que querían hacer el tour por la abadía con él, debían encontrarse en la entrada a las 12.45hs. A pesar de que le preguntamos, no dio detalles del punto de encuentro. La cuestión es que nunca lo encontramos y tuvimos que pagar los audio guías (después nos devolvió el dinero). Como habíamos salido una hora después, el tiempo no nos alcanzó para recorrer las calles de la Abadía, una lástima. El micro estaba en muy buenas condiciones y funcionaba bien la climatizacion. En resumen, el lugar vale la pena pero el guía dejó mucho que desear en su función.
