Horrible experience

The tour guide never showed. We called, we texted, we emailed - when we finally were able to get a representative on the phone, Viator had to call the local tour guide that NEVER followed up. I still do not have an answer nor a refund nor a call back from Viator. $250 and disappointed kids. We had to wait on a new line to buy tickets and pay all over again

Frederic was a Great Guide! He totally adapted the topics to the kids, made it interesting for them. The skip the line was top, no waiting time at all!

This museum has been on my bucket list for a very long time. I loved the experience. It did not disappoint in anyway. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. I totally enjoyed!

Too big and too many people to make the visit memorable for the art

It is wonderful to see these great works of art in person. But candidly, the number of fellow travelers makes the experience overwhelming. You battle people every step of the way and there are thousands of steps as there are 18 km of galleries. The best way to see the Louvre is using an on-line tour where you can get commentary and up close views of all the museum has to offer.

Buy your ticket online, you don’t need a tour guide

We paid $389 for two adults and two kids, it was not worth it. The guides gave us headphones that were nit working, so couldn’t hear much.

Really liked the guide but not a great experience

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly however the device low quality and uncomfortable. We caught every other word of 50% of what was said.

The Musee du Louvre Skip the Line Tour

Merve was a wonderful guide! She was passionate, knowledgeable, friendly and kind. She got us into the Louvre quickly and easily and showed us the ‘best bits’ of the Louvre. This place is the most beautiful, intriguing and sumptuous place we’ve seen. The sheer scale of the museum, grounds and collection is hard to take in… but the Skip the Line Tour helps get you taking it all in a more manageable way!

Intro to the Museum

This is an intro to the museum which is best thought of as a preparation for a subsequent visit. Don’t think that you’re going to see much of the collection. The tour stops at 10 or 12 or so pieces. The commentary from our guide on those pieces was great but there was so much else it would have been nice to see. The tour operator doesn’t give you an actual individual ticket to the museum so you can only explore the building/collection where the tour ends so there isn’t much opportunity for exploration on your own after the tour ends.

Our tour director was extremely knowledgeable in art history and a wonderful resource.

The tour guide took both of us separately to see the Venus Di Milo at the end of the tour and took the time along the way to point out and discuss other works of art .

Tickets sent to tour guide not valid

Found the tour meeting place and had time to go shopping at the souvenir shop besides it. We were a small group of 4. Told the your guide that we have to leave as soon as the Louvre tour of 2 hours is done as we have an evening tour to Montmatre in the evening. Unfortunately, when we got to where the tickets were being scanned the tickets sent by the tour company to the guide for the other couple were invalid. After some discussions with two of the ticket attendants and the guide calling the tour company who did not answer, she decided to buy new tickets for the couple. We lost almost 30 minutes in the process because of this. Close to 4 pm which is when the tour would have ended, I had to remind her that we have to leave soon so we now have to rush to see the Mona Lisa before we leave. Good thing we found a taxi right away and the driver understood that we were in a rush to reach the place where our tour group to Montmatre was starting and we got there with only a few minutes to spare.

Great all-ages tour

This was a fantastic tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and his English was excellent. Our family of eight was fully engaged in the tour the entire time, even our two nine year olds and normally sulky teen. And *right* before the tour we asked if a wheelchair would be possible for my 75 year old dad (he’s sick and was having a rough time with his feet). My hopes weren’t high because it was so last minute, but our guide not only made it happen, but pushed his wheelchair the entire time. It was a great experience!

Great tour of the Louvre in Paris

Julie provided a very good, detailed history of the Louvre. It helped us appreciate the museum more. We were able to skip the long lines and quickly gain entry. She highlighted some of the more important exhibits and pieces and was able to provide very good insights.

An unforgettable tour with Julie!!

Our tour guide, Julie, was absolutely AMAZING!! She was funny, knowledgeable, and highly entertaining. She expertly guided us through the highlights of the Louvre and made what could have been an overwhelming experience an extremely educational and memorable visit! We learned SO MUCH during our two-hour tour with Julie and were captivated by Julie's engaging and personable energy the entire time. This was definitely one of our TOP favorite experiences in all of Paris. Thank you, Julie! :)

Great tour of Louvre despite heat

Our guide was excellent, and we had no trouble finding the meeting spot. The initial part of the tour was outstanding, with interesting facts and history. Our guide had drawings to show us, and he was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, after about an hour in the Louvre, the heat and the crowds were overwhelming, and we had to leave the tour. No fault of the tour!

No experience and no service

I would not recommend this tour to anyone or using Viator for that matter. We booked this tour and on the day we got stuck in traffic and did not manage to get to the agreed point in time, we were literally 10 mins late. We left the hotel 45 mins before the agreed meeting time for a 20 min trip. Despite this we still ran late and when we realised that we are not going to make it we used the app and contacts provided by Viator to get in touch with the operator to let them know that we are coming but we are stuck in traffic. We got no response or reply to our messages and we still got charged the full $500 without getting any service. Tried to raise it with Viator but they keep saying that the booking stated that if not on time it is a no show. I understand that but we tried to use all the tools provided to communicate with the operator and because they don’t care to use the provided tools then it automatically is my fault and should be charged the full fee. Do yourself a favour and don’t use this service, saves you from a big headache if life throws a curve ball at you on the day.

The Absolute Worst Booked Experience!

First, I feel the local provider, UTG Experience, should be available to contact for each day they have tours running, and they did not - not for me or for Viator to reach out to. We both tried calling more than one number and I tried a live chat on their tour site - closed on Saturday. We left our hotel in plenty of time to meet our guide, but the taxi driver dropped us off at the wrong address. We tried to ask and google map on our own - not easy on Paris streets and there was not a store front name provided, just a street address to meet at, between a souvenir shop and a foreign exchange counter. As, we are walking, I am calling the tour operator, who rolled to voicemail stating they are closed, and sending a live chat explaining we are trying to find them, but no reply. So, I called Viator and I explained our situation - the confirmation has my cell number - no one called or texted me. So, on my birthday, we missed the tour. We purchased tickets and did our own audio tour. This was not the point. Viator requested a refund for us, which UTG Experience denied because "tour guide was there until start time". We witnessed 2 other tours we were a part of, where the tour operator went above and beyond to reach people who were late, and the couples successfully met our groups. UTG had my cell number and my live chat, yet never reached out to me, as we are running around trying to find them. It was such a stressful start to my birthday, but as always when you travel, we went with Plan B and had a wonderful time on our own. But, based on principle, I would never book or recommend UTG Experience.

Excellent guide

Our guide Julie was exceptional and we learned alot about the exhibits we saw with her guidance. She spoke English very well and was very personable. Kept us together despite the crowd.

Fantastic

We arrived ahead of time and due to the rest of the group running late and ultimately not going join us, this did result in a private guide experience which was amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and was very personable which we liked as well as funny and friendly. It was busy which is to be expected for the busiest museum in Europe, but got to see everything we wanted too. Fantastic and thank you!

Perfect!

Julie was a fantastic guide. She had a great sense of humor and easy to follow. You would never be able to tell there were hundreds of people around you. Was able to see everything up close and good view.

Quick louvre learning

Our guide Julie was extremely knowledgeable and shared the history, art style and craftsmanship of particular pieces. I felt like I got a good overview of how the Louvre came to be and we saw some of the most famous works displayed. Worth booking this if you want some in-depth perspective on a few things rather than browsing on your own.

Tour guide was excellent. The exhibits were awesome. Only issue was the earphone battery ran out and was replace by the tour guide. It also stopped working near the end of the tour (last 20 minutes).

Excellent Tour

The meeting point was easy to find. The tour was excellent. Benedict, our guide, was very knowledgeable art, the country's history, and the museum and the museums history. We were lucky enough to have an intimate tour of only four people.

Very disappointing Louvre Tour

The guide was soft spoken & unable to hear his description of the works of art. There is a need to provide ear buds. Very disappointing experience. Hopefully, I won't have to deal with this tour guide company again even though they a nationally know company. Very hard to communicate with in getting a voucher or ticket.

Would have loved to been in there longer. Our legs just could not keep up!! The weather was unusually warm.

Our guide Beatrice is very pleasant and professional. She answered all of our questions with patience and knowledge. She went out of her way to help a couple whoes names weren't on her list and eventually included them in the tour.

Great tour!

We had a great and private tour, only 6 people and a terrific and very knowledgeable guide. We went with a 11 and 13 old children and they stayed interested the entire time. Highly recommend!

Louvre tour for a novice!

Julie our guide was excellent She found the best viewing experience for the group and answered all our questions with her humorous style and wealth of knowledge Do this one!

2 hours waiting to get in!! What skip the line?? Skip this tour

This was an awful tour and I would NOT recommend it. Our tour was delayed for nearly 2 hours due to ticket issues. The meeting time was 10am and we didn’t get into the Louvre until noon. The tour guide tried his best with Louvre security, but gave us the excuse that it was due to our tickets not having participant’s full names on them?!?! That was total BS as no one ever checked for IDs upon entering the louvre. Furthermore, we entered all this info online when we booked the tour so it was available to them! The guide rushes us through the museum in 1.5 hours. We wanted to explore the museum more, but needed to get some food and water in the middle of the louvre, but since the guide had our tickets on his phone, we are not allowed to return to the exhibits as we never got our own tickets. Bottom line, for a museum with 12 miles of exhibition, we saw Napoleon’s apartment, Mona Lisa, Nike, Venus De Milo and arts along the way to these 4 locations. It was a waste of a day and effort to go through this agency. Do not take this tour so to this agency.

$200 down the drain- beware

As others have said, beware this is a scam. We were at the location at the correct time but no one was there. They either left early or did not show up for the tour. UTG was impossible to contact and didn’t respond to my messages for hours. They refused to refund any of the over $200 that we paid for the tour.

Great Lou re Tour with Teens

Our tour guide was awesome, and super knowledgeable - we saw all the highlights, and he did a great job of giving the history of the pieces we were seeing. Our 13 & 16 year olds even stayed engaged in the tour! Highly recommend - was worth it to skip the line, which was very long.

Great experience. Definitely recommend.

Our tour guide, Milan, was exceptional. Not only was he very knowledgeable and engaging, but he knew just how to best maneuver our group of seven (including a wheelchair) around a very crowded Louvre. I can't imaging we would have enjoyed it as much without Milan. He did great keeping our kids (9 and 13) engaged. The one piece of feedback I have is for the tour company itself. At the meeting point, we were a bit unsure of what was supposed to happen. We didn't realize our group would have its own guide (this was before we were assigned to Milan). So, when other groups started to depart, we didn't know whether to stay or follow. I would suggest either formal signage or more detailed instructions. Aside from that issue, the other staff were great.

We had a wonderful time. We were a party of 6 and ended up being just us since they split the group into smaller groups. Our guide was fantastic and you could feel her love for art and art history. We got to see the new(ish) excavation of the Louvre foundations and moats from when the built the pyramid. We would never have thought to go that way!

An engaging tour

Seeing a variety of art pieces! The guide was patient with our questions and enthusiastic in sharing his knowledge and views. He looked after us really well and made us feel comfortable. I recommend this tour and also Christoph as a guide.

Wonderful experience

The guided tour is worth every penny Benedict our tour guide was fantastic, very patient with the crowd of people around us always trying to please our group of tourists, giving us an excellent answers at our questions. Skipping the line save time to enjoy more the museum.
