Excellent Tour of Louvre Highlights

Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She navigated the Louvre with deftness and was able to keep the group together even in somewhat crowded places. There were a couple works that I tought she gave us too much information on (information overload), but it demonstrated her in-depth knowledge.

Treat at the Louvre

What a treat it was to have John lead us through the Louvre with rich stories about the building’s history and some of the unbelievable creativity it houses. Without him, I think we would have wandered aimlessly and perhaps become victim to the draw of the Mona Lisa. Such crowds! Even our kids (ages 11 and 14) were attentive for the full three hours and commented on how interesting John made every moment. I’d book him for every visit if I could.

Difficult to hear

System used to hear the guide was not great, and they spoke very quickly so it was hard to understand what was being said. I'm used to much more detail and history during museum tours which I didn't get with this trip.

Knowledgeable tour guide

The tour guide was amazing. He was very informative and definitely knew his art history. My family and I were very impressed with his knowledge and his humor.

Best Louvre Tour Ever

The Louvre was overwhelming, but Sid made it much better to experience and recommend him to everyone. Sid was really knowledgeable of the French History and we learned a lot.

Very worthwhile

Excellent guide. We were able to see so many of the highlights in a relatively short tour. The guide gave us a solid foundation for the history of the museum and the stories behind the art and sculpture we saw.

Book Sid for tour!

Sid was great. Entertaining, so knowledgeable, great guide! Makes the complexity of the Lourve approachable. We toured with two young boys and even they were entertained.

Wonderful

Imad was the most amazing tour guide! He was fun, knowledgeable and made the Louvre experience more than what we could have asked for. The group met at the exact location noted on the ticket, right in front of the Napoleon statue and started on time. The entrance to the museum was seamless. The art was breathtaking and I cannot stress enough how pleasant and efficient Imad made the tour. 10/10 I would highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to get Imad, you will not be disappointed.

Good experience at Louvre guided tour

Very good tour. Our guide Imad was experienced, careful with people and available for explanations to the participants.

No alternative for situation beyond control

We couldn’t make meeting time (missed by 20 minutes) because of unanticipated heavy traffic (over a hour to go 15 minutes) with presidents and dignitaries visiting for Normandy celebration. Could not get rebooked for later in day so lost the $300+ charge. Alternative or partial adjustment should have been made. Only alternative given was to schedule for next day with additional charge to make change which was impossible since we were leaving town. Not happy with this outcome!

Excellent experience.

Our guide, Cozette was a fantastic. She was very informative and gave excellent insights to all that we were seeing. Her guidance through the museum, pointing out key works of art was invaluable.

A great experience of the Louvre.

Our guide Mona was so knowledgeable and helpful. She went out of her way to show us the best we could see. Even when the tour was finished she took us personally to the Egyptian section as she was worried we wouldn't find it. A fabulous experience and highly recommended.

Highlights

It was great seeing the Mona Lisa and other famous works of art in person and being guided to each work with excellent commentary along the way.

Worth the money

While more expensive if you don’t want to get caught up in the lines and end up wandering around aimlessly then having a guide is definitely the way to go .. very informative with loads of interesting detail provided

Saved us 3 1/2 hours in line & VIP access to areas not shown to public

This tour saved us over 3 1/2 hours of waiting in lines and also gave us private access to some areas that regular tourist were not able to see. Our tour guide as well as the two other tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and also answered a lot of questions and went at our pace.

Really worth while highly recommend

Our tour guide Nev was so knowledgeable and well organized which made our experience so good. She explained all of the history behind each piece of art and we learned things that we never knew

Ev it was a very knowledgeable guide, and it was great that she had so many stories and so much insight to the art that she showed us. She selected all of the best pieces to show our Group Tours and we enjoyed every minute of it. If I could change one thing, it would’ve been to make even longer :-) I hope next time we do it at the Louvre we have her as our guide.

Great tour

Wonderful tour with a knowledgeable guide. Took us to all the key spots and told us the history of the property. Easy to understand and very attentive.

Great and interesting tour.

Meet up and check was easy per the instructions provided. Entry was relatively quick. Our tour guide, Avie, was very knowledgeable and added some humor to the tour.

Excellent tour with a knowledgable guide!

Using the services of a knowledgable guide is the only way to visit The Louvre because it is otherwise overwhelming! Avi was fantastic with our group of 16. He made sure everyone was together and wouldn't miss anything. The Vox system worked perfectly and we could hear his every word. It was a pleasure to hear his perspective and insights. Can definitely recommend.

excellent tour Guide was great very informative and pleasant loved the pyramid very impressive Venus De Milo lovely as was Mona Lisa interesting how it started with the castle and grew so vast needed 3 more days to see it all

Our tour guide was fantastic! She made the visit incredibly interesting and completely worthwhile. Wonderful background information and such an enthusiastic lover of the art and museum. Lots of fun!

Great guide

Our guide was very knowledgable. He gave us some bits of info i never would have known.For instance there is a crown encased in glass in museum. People are surrounding it taking photos. Our guide told us in secret that the crown is a FAKE! It says its a replica in french next to it. I never would have known without our guide.

Skip the line and learn more than you would on your own. A fantastic deal.

We could not have done this without our personal guided tour! We were able to skip a massive line and had access to the cloakroom for our things. We really felt like our guide (Will) took great care of us. He was informative and patient and had a great sense of humor. I highly recommend you don't wing it with the Louvre -- especially at peak times. Worth every penny.

Faulty microphone

Whilst the guide was very knowledgeable the tour was disappointing as her headset continually failed. It is impossible to complete a tour there without the headset microphone as it’s so busy. We Had to stop constantly so she could To fix the connection

Great experience

Tour guide very knowledgeable, very interesting tour, learned a lot about the art and the artist and history that I never knew before doing this museum tour.

Knowledgeable, efficient, energetic and fun!!

Priority access was nice to skip the lines and going first thing in the morning avoided crowds nicely. The Louvre is huge and we do not have a large art background. Having a guide to see highlights and have historical background to the pieces really made the visit much more colorful. Our guide Ramona was extremely knowledgeable and allowed us to connect the dots with other places in the world. There was no question she could not answer and never was an answer yes/no - there was always a fun story to go along. Energetic, efficient, and knowledgeable!! Made the experience valuable even for our 19 and 22 year old kids!!

Well worth it

Was a very knowledgable and well organized tour even with lots of people we were able to see all we wanted and the tour really helped us earn a better understanding of the Louvre. Definitely recommend

If you’re an art history buff or first time learning this is your guide. You will leave having learnt more.

One of the best tour guides I have had to date. She was from Lebanon (wish I remembered her name…Carmela?). Her art history knowledge was phenomenal. She gave in-depth detail about each painting we viewed with background… political influences, influences of the day etc. Our three hours flew by. I wish every teacher/professor could be as engaging and knowledgeable as she was. She made learning easy. 10/10

Pathetic and disappointing experience. Will never recommend this to anyone. Best to purchase tickets in person.

We could not locate any guide whatsoever and we presented the downloaded voucher but it did not provide access as we needed QR codes. We paid good money for a fraudulent purchase! We had to buy 2 additional tickets to enter. Horrible!

Highly recommended tour with Martin

Our guide Martin was incredible. He was so knowledgable, funny, full of anecdotes. He was so calm during the tour in crowded place. He told us very interesting details about various masterworks and masterpieces.

Super Tour with an amazing guide

Aida was our guide and she was fantastic! She was so passionate and knowledgeable and made me history and art come alive for our group. She was also funny and personable which made the tour even more enjoyable. I highly recommend rather than just walking around on your own you will get to know more in a meaningful way.

A knowledgeable guide improves your experience

Our visit to the Louvre was the highlight of our trip to Paris and our decision to join a guided tour the right one. Not only were we able to skip the lengthy queue but with Romona, our guide, we were also able to understand so much more about what we were seeing. Her enthusiasm and breadth of knowledge about the exhibits knew no bounds.

Not for us

Way too much detail about a few individual paintings. If you want to see a lot of art; this is not for you. Guide had a thick foreign accent and was hard to understand.

Will was a fabulous guide. He made everything really fun, interesting and relevant. He had excellent knowledge of all aspects of the Louvre

Very bad experience: guide was clueless and group too bigs, group too big.

The guide was terrible: ze was too late, her English was very hard to understatement and she knew absolutely too little, or at least she didn't share her knowledge if she had any: the information she gave was very superficial. Four people stopped within the first 10 minutes of the tour. We couldn't bare it anymiore after 1,5 hour: we tried not to be annoyed, be in the end the stupidity wasn't bareble anymore. By the way: the group wasn't as small, as Viator promised.
