Day Trip to Fontainebleau : Horse Riding, Gastronomy and Castle

Wonderful day trip

Such a special day! Horse ride through forest was magical and tour of castle was amazing! This was one of our favorite days in France.

Highlight of our week!

Rita Coordinated everything, ride was on time, horseback riding was amazing with an idyllic lunch at a beautiful In historic village. Afterwards touring the castle was just amazing, truly once in a lifetime! I would highly recommend, it was my first trip to Paris/France and this was the highlight of the week

Trip to Fontainebleau

My family and I had the best time on our IMPERIAL HERITAGE RIDE. Rita was great, it was nice not having to worry about any details. Rita took care of everything. We had a great horseback ride, followed by a really nice lunch and a guided tour of the château, we will be doing more rides with her on future trips around the world!

Wonderful day!

Rita and her team did an amazing job for me and my teen daughter!! We rode thought the forest, had one of the best lunches ever followed up by a private tour of fountainbleu. The private driver was also outstanding. Would highly recommend!!

A wonderful Valentine’s Day

Decided to surprise my wife with something different this Valentine's Day, and I found this ride in Fontainebleau. I thought it would be the perfect gift as it combines horse-riding - one of her passions with visiting the countryside, and we were actually so happy to escape Paris’ crowds for a day. The team was very welcoming and the whole day was just perfectly organized - from picking us up at our hotel to visiting the castle with a great guide. Cheers to the Fontainebleau team for such a fantastic experience. We’re definitely planning a rerun!

Phenomenal

My friends and I went on holiday to France, and this ride was the highlight of our week in Paris! From making the reservation to being picked up at our hotel, to the ride, the lunch and the visit of the chateau after, we felt very well cared for. Alice gives one the confidence to ride and gallop through the forest like it is easy as pie. Even some of my friends who do not usually ride or care for horses had a lovely time in the saddle. The best experience of our trip to Paris

I could not rate this experience any higher. It totally exceeded all my expectations. The forest was breathtaking, the horses well trained and gentle, the food was delicious. Alice, our riding guide was simply awesome. Arusyak, our Castle guide was also fantastic, she knew everything about French History, Architecture and Royalty, down to the smallest detail. Undoubtedly the best experience of our trip to Paris.

Amazing ride, amazing service, amazing cuisine, calm and gentle horses. Worth every penny. Alice was great at instilling confidence in my partner and helping him enjoy the ride.

Excellent experience horse riding as a first timer. Everyone was friendly and kind. The whole experience was enjoyable and unforgettable, would definitely recommend.

Napoleon forest

The cobbled trail through the forest made for carriages that Napoleon used to bring women along on hunts.

One-of-a-kind experience of Fountainebleau

Everything was wonderful on this day-long excursion. I, my spouse, and my two tween daughters enjoyed every aspect of the day:from the horseback riding, to the delicious lunch in a quaint nearby town, to the great privately-guided tour of Fountainebleau. A great investment in your Paris experience and highly recommended!

Amazing day with lovely horses

Amazing experience, everything is well organized so all you have to do it turn up! The horses were so calm and great to ride. The lunch was also amazing.

Perfect end to a work trip

I organized this excursion at the end of a business trip, as I wanted to have a treat for myself that I might not have the chance to do again. Rita was fabulous in communicating with me before the trip, and on the day was punctual, helpful, well informed and friendly. I had the most perfect day to remember.

The best experience during our vacation in France

We did the Fontainebleau horse-riding and castle visit trip in September and it was definitely the best experience we have had during our vacations in France. Our driver picked us up at our hotel with some croissants and took us directly to the stables. We were welcomed by our guide Alice and met our horses for the ride. The horses are a mix between Fjord stallions and French Saddlebreds and are SO nice - I haven’t met such affectionate horses before in my life, a reel pleasure to ride. Alice always had her eyes on us and helped us when necessary, she speaks a good English - which was lovely. She made my parents and daughter (who are beginners) feel very comfortable in the saddle, while allowing me to gallop through the forest.  We ended our ride with a delicious meal at the terrace of a very (very) French restaurant. We decided to share a few different appetizers, we had the escargots (My first ones!!), mussels and a platter of cheeses: a delight! Although the best part for me was dessert: I chose the chef’s favorite : a chocolate cream with olive oil and sea salt on top, the best sweet treat I had of my vacations… And then the Château… We did many tours of French Castles, including Versailles but we were surprised of how beautiful the Fontainebleau Palace is, and thankfully not crowded at all! Our guide was fantastic AND bilingual. The depth of her knowledge is amazing, and she gave a lot of context to what we were seeing or where we were. We are grateful we paid for the guided visit as it was an infinitely more meaningful than doing a recorded audio tour. Thank you so much for this magnificent experience. I recommended this activity to families and riders of all experience levels. The horses are so safe that even an absolute beginner could do this ride.

An Unforgettable Experience in the French Countryside

If you're looking for a local and immersive getaway close to Paris this is a must try experience ! I went with my two friends and we had a blast. The horseback riding in the forest was beautiful and memorable. As an experienced rider it didn't feel slow or boring which I highly appreciated. Also, the guide was very informative and pleasant explaining the full history of the Fontainebleau Castle. My friends and I particularly enjoyed the lunch which allowed us to taste traditional French dishes that we had not gotten the chance to try earlier during our stay. Overall this experience was the highlight of our trip and I 100% recommend it.

An amazing trip from start to finish!

One of the best experiences of all of our vacations in Paris. The horse-riding in the Forest of Fontainebleau was absolutely wonderful. I am actually a beginner rider but I was still able to try a bit of trot thanks to our horse-riding guide who was very reassuring, as well as knowledgeable of the surroundings’ history. We were truly surprised by the Château de Fontainebleau, that was, if I may say, as grandiose as Versailles but much less crowded! A special mention to the restaurant’s chef who prepared us some delicious duck, perfectly paired with a Bourgogne Wine. An amazing trip from start to finish!

Joyful adventure for all nature lovers and hedonists

An amazing day trip for those who love horse riding, nature and want to know French countryside (and cuisine) closer! The stables are located 1-1,5 h. from Paris in a beautiful location — a national reservation with a forest. Very magical place with untouched nature. The horses are gorgeous, strong, brave and kind. The trail routes are quite diverse, there are punes, sand dunes and rocks with moss. I especially enjoyed the traditional french lunch with a glass of rose after a joyful ride. The tour is very comfortably organised in terms of timing, no rush, you have plenty of time to enjoy the sides, the food and take your time. My amazing tour guide and organizer Rita shared some stories and historical facts about Fontainebleau forest and its region. I didn’t have a chance to visit Versailles during my staying in Paris but I was very glad that this tour offered me to visit a small Chateau nearby. Highly recommended to all nature lovers and hedonists!
