Champagne Day Trip with 6 Tastings, Reims and Winery from Paris

Wonderful experience!

We were on a family girls trip to Paris and took this Champagne tasting trip with Ollie as our guide. We had the best time. The tour was very informative and the champagne was fantastic! Ollie was the BEST! He was very knowledgeable about the area and the champagne process. I would highly recommend him.

A must-do!

This was by our far our favorite tour we did while in Europe! Our guide, Gabriel, was very knowledgeable and we learned so much before even stepping into our facility tours. Truly a highlight of our trip and would recommend to anyone!

Great Tour with Great People

Great Day exploring Champagne region with visits at two champagne houses. We visited a small family run one and a larger commercial one. I was initially hesitant about not getting to go visit one of the “big names” but my experience at the family run house was WAY better. More personal and informative. The tasting at both were not small pours, but full glasses so you definitely get to enjoy lots of champagne. We had a great guide (Will) and met some amazing new friends on my tour. Highly recommend!!

Excellent

Our tour guide, Will, was exceptional. Delaunois Chavez (Elodie) and Mercier wineries were inspiring and the champagnes exceptional. The Mercier cellars were unbelievable!

Really fun tour of Champagne.

Really fun tour. In addition to the tastings/champagne house tours we were able to see the towns of Reims and Champagne, go in the Notre Dame cathedral in Reims, picture opportunities in the vineyards, a visit to Dom Perignon grave, and several other stops not listed on the itinerary. Would highly recommend for a day trip out of Paris. Our guide JB was a pleasure to spend the day with.

Pilgrimage to Don Perignon

Our tour driver Simon was a delight and was so accommodating when we showed up as a group of 9. Both drivers worked together to pair our group up and made lunch reservations for us and made the trip memorable. Wendy-Seme was the other driver that took half our group and they really enjoyed them.

Lots of education, some wine and sightseeing, convenient travel and a great guide

My husband and I traveled to Champagne on an unseasonably cool day - plus rain. Tip: err on the side of extra layers, scarves etc as it was cooler than Paris and the caves are also chilly. We enjoyed our pleasant and knowledgeable guide Nicholas and found the ride comfortable and enjoyable. Our first Champagne house stop was at a small producer where Nicholas gave us a brief tour and then enjoyed 3 delicious tastes. The pours were generous but after going all that way I was eager to taste more. The lunch stop Epernay is a good opportunity for that - I wish we were given a more thorough description of what the area had to offer, other than a very quick point to 3 lunch options. I would have preferred a longer stop in the town (and a shorter tour at the afternoon stop). Our pm stop was at Nicolas Feuillate. That facility was a monster of a production! Some of it was interesting and impressive but the highly designed tour was too long for me - and it was repetitive on what we had already be taught about champagne earlier. Being so tired from the early wake up and jet lag didn’t lend well to a slow tour. Note that there is no seating for enjoying your tastings at the end of the tour. We really liked the wines and bought plenty to take back to the US! The traffic was horrendous on the way back- so glad we weren’t driving but it made us very much appreciate the train! It was as advertised - but I still think this tour could benefit from some small touches of hospitality such as extra waters in the van and a small snack in the morning. Otherwise I recommend this tour as a way to cover a lot of ground in the region without a lot of personal effort—especially if you are truly interested in learning a fair amount about Champagne.

Unique experience, well worth it

Our guide Clem took us to a unique family owned champagne producer, along with other beautiful stops throughout the day. We would not have had as great of an experience doing it on our own. She had great knowledge to share with us and was very friendly. Great way to leave Paris for a day and learn about Champagne.

Excellent experience with great tastings.

Enzo was a great guide and was a pleasure to be with all day. The tour included a look at the traditional, manual way of processing grapes to make champagne and the mass production using newer technology. Both produced great champagnes but are done very differently. Both tour guides at the wineries were pleasant with great knowledge of the process and helped to educate us well.

Awesome!

It was a lovely experience. I enjoyed Pierre Domi champagne house. The Blanc de Blanc was my favorite.

Poor value for money

Unfortunately this tour did not live up to expectations and was poor value for money. Our tour guide seemed untrained and wasn’t very talkative, so there was a dearth of information and insight as we went around. The first stop at Fagot was good, however no one from the actual winery showed us around, just our young and inexperienced guide. The second stop at Feuillatte had a very good guide from the winery, however the winery itself is just a big mass- producer so it was all steel and machines, and the champagne itself was not great. Interesting, but not what we expected when visiting the region.

A wonderful day in the Champagne region!

We had a fantastic time on our Champagne tour with Will as our guide. It turned out that my husband and I were the only ones on the tour. I wondered if other companies might cancel the tour in this situation, but Blue Fox/Will went forward with our now private tour. Lucky us! Will is very engaging and knowledgeable about the Champagne region and France in general. He also very kindly gave us many practical and language tips as our ability to speak French is deplorable. The tour itself was perfect, with visits to both a small family run vineyard and larger winery. Both tours were quite interesting and we learned the champagne making process from two contrasting perspectives. We also had ample time for a visit to Notre Dame in Reims and the burial site of Dom Perignon. A lovely day with delicious champagne tasting.

Excellent day out! C’était super!

Such a great day out! Julian was an excellent guide, friendly and very knowledgeable of champagne, both the region and the wine! Good amount of time at each stop to explore. Definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to experience champagne in Champagne! We learnt a lot about how the wine is uniquely made, also Reims cathedral was excellent.

Better if tour stuck to small vineyards. Bring your own palate cleansers

Our guide Kareem was amazing and delightful. The first champagne house we went to was a small family producer and Kareem gave us a tour and then we had a tasting, and it was very enjoyable. We did find it strange at both places that they did not give you any small pieces of bread or some thing as a pallet cleanser between tastings… The next place we went was a mass producer. The tour was interesting but redundant in terms of the explanation, as we already knew how champagne was made from our the first one, and I will say that our guide made it much more interesting at the first place. The tastings Were done in a big room where they had us stand the entire time which after walking around for at least an hour was not the most pleasant way to enjoy the champagne. There were 18 of us just standing for probably close to another hour The tastings were all a generous amount but it didn’t make for an enjoyable experience tasting champagne.

Wonderful, but could have been perfect.

I had a wonderful day. The two wineries, one small, one enormous, were both fascinating. Our guide, Julien, was very charming. The only thing that let it down was the lunch, where you had to just grab a takeaway. Something planned, no matter how simple, would have made the day even better. Both wineries were very generous with their champagne tastings. Perhaps it would be possible to have a cheese platter, for example, at the second winery?

Really enjoyed the two other couples in our your. Our guide Victor was pleasant and informative. Loved seeing Pierre Domi. The daughter was our tour guide and was fun and informative. Bought two cases of champagne. Also enjoyed see the commercial process as well but wish to support the smaller vineyards. The drive back was very busy but the driver was kind to let us off early as it was closer to our hotel. To our surprise, the other two couples hopped off as well as it was closer to their hotel as well. We were all in the Latin quarter off saint michel!

Great tour

Ketz was a great guide! He was very knowledgeable about champagne as well as the history. We loved visiting the smaller traditional champagne houses, as this was a more genuine experience.

Would recommend for anyone looking for a quick trip to the champagne region

Had a great time on this tour. It was great to see both a small and a large champagne producer to compare the differences. Everything was really well organised and the guide was really knowledgeable. If you’re looking for a whistle stop tour to the champagne region I would definitely recommend. It was perfect for me as a solo traveler as everyone was so friendly and the tour guide made sure everyone was included. The only bad part was the traffic driving back into Paris which was of course no fault of the tour operators but be aware that the journey back can be quite long.

Larson Champagne - was OUTSTANDING

This is a great way to see the champagne region, however, be prepared for full day in the van, you leave at 7am and return at 7 pm. Will our guide was the best, insightful, engaged in great conversation. I did not think that I was going to be impressed by the Reims Cathedral, it was awesome. The beauty of the building, the stained glass windows. The highlight was our time at the small Larson Champagne - was OUTSTANDING. Our guide was the granddaughter of the founder. She was personable and engaging. She shared a wealth of information. The tastings there was a highlight and you can buy very reasonable their champagne - no pressure - you will not find at other places. Our time tat he Nicholas Feuillattee Champagne - was very disappointing in comparison. It is a LARGE and VERY COMMERCIAL tour. Nothing special. I would have preferred another small champagne vineyard. Van was comfortable and I think overall a good value for the cost.

Great day with Gabe!

What a lovely day in champagne! Highly recommend this day trip! Gabe was such a great guide!! Reims Cathedral was a great stop. I could have spent half the day exploring it. It he first champagne house was smaller and the lady that guided us thru was very thorough and definitely left smarter. The champagnes from the tasting were excellent. Lunch in Epirnay was lovely. Wish we had more time there. And the last champagne house was very large. The tour was excellent and the tastings were excellent.

Wonderful Day Trip!

Another amazing trip booked through Viator! Spending the day touring the beautiful Champagne region was delightful. I highly suggest the small group tours as the van is very comfortable and you get an opportunity to meet the other passengers. Our guide, Will, was awesome. He’s very informative and personable. He really helped make the tour a 10 out of 10.

Champagne tour

The church and the Michael fagot was beautiful and champagne amazing we ordered some to send home. The final winery at Nicolas Feuillatte was showing how they make bulk bottles of champagne and you buy it in the US. Our tour guide Wendy sere was amazing and had a lot of energy and very engaging. We had a good time but would have liked to spend more time at local champagne wineries on the tour.

Fantastic country & informative champagne tours!

Our guide, Will, was superb! Friendly, knowledgeable and great to spend time with! The champagne tours were fantastic and the extra few side trips-2 cathedrals were a bonus!

Bouche the best!

Will was a wonderful host for the day. He shared his love of Paris, champagne and the regions so warmly and passionately. Everyone was made welcome and we all enjoyed each other’s company. The Bouche house is a must see section of the tour. Thanks Will for a lovely day.

Honeymoon Devastation - don't book!

Viator is merely a reseller. The tour operator changed the meeting time and place or our tour. In their messaging they said the information would be updated in the Viator app, it was not. I showed up for our tour with the Viator voucher that had the incorrect time and missed the tour completely by 15 minutes. This was a full day tour on my honeymoon and was to be the highlight of our trip to France. Contacting the tour operator and Viator was pointless. Viator does not take care of the customer and the tour operator banked the 100% profit and said tough luck. I've used Viator for many years and I'm so disappointed they didn't update their voucher information and refused to refund or credit a long time customer.

Amazing experience

It was amazing. Our tour guide Julie was exceptional. It’s nice to see the process of making champagne. It was tough to drink 3 glasses of champagne at a time but managed to do it. Great experience

Lovely Day out of the city.

Our tour guide, Matthew, was great! He was so knowledgeable and accommodating the whole day. We learned about the history of this beautiful region and the production of Champagne and its bubbles. I would highly recommend this tour! Be sure to check the pick up point to the proximity of your hotel.

Day trip to champagne

Our day trip to champagne was excellent! David our driver was absolutely fantastic. He was attentive to us and to another client who had special needs. The first champagne house tour was excellent- informative, with excellent champagne. Our lunch at the Continental was also excellent, which is amazing because we are gluten free and usually it is difficult to accommodate for this diet. The cathedral in Rheims was beautiful. The second house was good, but personally I didn’t care for their champagne as much ( but they did demonstrate how to sabre off the top which was cool) . The drive through the French countryside was the perfect mid week break to relax from city and see the beauty of France. The van was clean and comfortable. The tour was excellent, enriched by David who made the day awesome. He is an asset to the company for sure. Attentive and charming, and a good driver negotiating the traffic.

Champagne tasting

Amazing tour guide Mathieu. He was knowledgeable, organized and just plain fun to listen to. All of that and champagne tasting too, how could you go wrong.

A recap of Champagne Tours

It was a raw day weather wise -rain, windy, cold but luckily we had Julien as our tour leader. Julien is a very personable and knowledgeable person and he was most happy to answer our many questions. The tour includes a stop at Reims where we saw another beautiful cathedral. And then we headed out to a champagne vineyard. We loved Pierre Domi and our hostess, Coraline (so?) who shared with us the process of making champagne . Their champagne was very good. We stopped in Eperne for a quick lunch of sandwiches and quiche. We visited the church and saw Dom Peignon’s grave. On to another champagne house that mass produced champagne where we sampled more. If you love champagne, this is the tour for you. The ride is a little lengthy and probably, May would be a better choice but we really enjoyed our time with Julien. He was great!

Educational. Very good service and the guide was awesome. Little groups are comfortable. Everything was on the hour. Good experience between traditional and modern wineries!

Loved the Champagne Tour

We loved Matthew our guide. So knowledgeable and fun. Every part of the tour was great. Loved the private family owned champagne house then the larger production house. What an education. The area where we had lunch was gorgeous and the countryside was so pretty.

Fun day in the Champagne Region!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Champagne region. Our tour guide was exceptional, very friendly and knowledgeable. The van was very comfortable, it was very nice to tour in a small group. Had a wonderful time learning about the region and the guides we met at the champagne houses were very pleasant and fun!

Our tour guide was Karin and he was absolutely amazing! He had so much knowledge and went out of his way for everyone in the group. The tours themselves were awesome to see the whole process on how champagne was made. Highly recommend this tour and if you can choose a guide go with Karin!!

Salut to Champagne!

What a wonderful day spent in Champagne! We lucked out with the weather and it was an absolutely lovely day. Phillipe was our guide who was with us all day from the meeting point until drop off. He was so funny and quite knowledgeable of so much history and facts. He entertained us all day and was just an amazing guide. We went to a small house and a large house of Champagne for tastings which were great! You learn a lot about Champagne and the region and how everything is made with different varieties. If you have time this is worth it!

Perfect Introduction to the Champagne Region

Great day trip from Paris. Loved the contrast of the small family-owned Champagne house with the large mass-produced cooperative. Great tastings, too! Phillipe, our driver and guide was wonderful fun. Very informative, funny, and a delight throughout the day. Small group (only four of us) is the way to go!

From Paris to Champagne

Tour from Paris to Champagne was amazing. The starting point was easy to get to on the Metro. The driver was excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. We stopped at a boulangerie on the way out that had amazing butter croissants. The first stop was at the Notre Dame de Reims, which was beautiful. We stopped at a local small champagne grower and manufacturer that was very educational and tasted several delicious types. As well later we saw a large manufacturer, and the contrast was illuminating. The drive through the small towns and vineyards was beautiful as well. Know it is about 2 hours each way, so I recommend bring a book or some headphones to keep yourself occupied. Otherwise, it was a great tour and enjoyed it.

Try to get Gabriel as her tour guide. He goes out of the way to make sure you are happy and so nice. we were picked up on time and everything was wonderful. We went to Nicholas Feuillet which was amazing to learn about how they make champagne and we also went to a tiny champagne house. Both were so cool and so different. I bought some champagne to take home the restaurant we went to in the center of town which Gabriel recommended was absolutely fabulous. Then he dropped us off near our hotel, and gave us a recommendation for a restaurant to eat that evening, we absolutely loved every minute and a huge shout out to Gabriel. Doing a great job.

Outstanding Tour of Champagne

After having spent a considerable amount of time in Paris, we became interested in exploring areas outside of the city. We booked this tour with HP and as luck would have it we had a private tour of Reims and 2 houses of champagne in Champagne. It was very educational and interesting and we were able to put our newly acquired skills to the test as we sampled various champagnes. HP proceed all kinds of additional information and commentary to make the tour seem even more personalized. Highly recommend this day trip!
