I recently experienced the 5 Senses tour in Mumbai, and it was absolutely phenomenal! Our guide, Heer, was amazing – knowledgeable, engaging, and incredibly friendly. The sightseeing tour of Mumbai's iconic landmarks was both informative and breathtaking. The spice market visit was a sensory delight, with vibrant colors and intoxicating aromas. To top it all off, the Bollywood dancing class was an absolute blast! This tour truly lived up to its name, engaging all five senses and leaving me with unforgettable memories. The complete Mumbai experience!

We did the Five senses tour of Mumbai - what a great showcase of this vibrant city. Our guide Heer was exceptionnal! Very insightful, flexible on our itinerary and very positive vibe. The Bollywood dance class was a lot of fun, delicious lunch, taking the train and meeting locals at the spice market were just some of the highlights of the tour. Highly recommend.

5 Sense Tour of Mumbai - don't miss it!

We did the 5 Senses tour with Nami and it was excellent. We covered so many aspects of Mumbai (everything and more on my wish lit!)and Nami shared lots of interesting information and history with us. We started at the Taj Mahal Palace and Gate of India and then detoured to a local outdoor laundry where we could walk amongst the basins and see the lines of laundry drying in the sun, before heading to the colonial precinct. We were amazed how many UNESCO sites there were and the architecture was stunning. We walked out onto the Oval to see 100s of cricketers practising, it was quite surreal. Then a short train ride from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus took us out of the city and into the suburbs. This was a great experience , the terminus its self was stunning and it was interesting to get an insight into how the local move around this city, thankfully it was a weekend so there was no problem getting a seat, during the weekend days locals hang onto the side of the trains. We then visited a local spice market where family masala recipes handed down through the generations were made up, here the suppliers mix and warm the spices before they are pounded ready for use, all under the watchful eye of the local wives. It was a fascinating experience and an assault on the senses! Nami shared her family recipe with us which she had made up for us as we watched. After a lovely lunch we headed to a Bollywood dance class. This was great fun and our instructor was very patient with us, we laughed a lot although the video of the final dance is probably not for general viewing! We had a driver with us throughout which was great as we could move at our own speed and also include things which were interesting to us. I am a big architecture fan so Nami added a trip down marina Drive to see all the art deco buildings (the second biggest concentration after Miami). We would thoroughly recommend this tour and our guide.

Great informative day.

We agreed at the beginning of our day what we wanted to do and that's what we did. Saw all the sights, delicious lunch (with my nut allergy catered for), danced some Bollywood and ended up with some retail therapy. Best tour so far.

A FABULOUS DAY IN MUMBAI WITH OUR GUIDE AMAN

Well wow! Our guide Aman regaled us with the history of Bombay/Mumbai at the Gateway of India at the start of a day filled with brilliant experiences: the dabbowallas and their incredible lunchtime tiffin service throughout the city; the dhobi ghat - a laundry system like no other; a trip on a local train from the astonishing station (formerly Victoria Terminus); the spice market where people go to have their secret family recipe for masala made up; a delicious lunch in Folk. Aman was super accommodating as we wanted to replace one or two locations with two personal location requests.

Amazing tour of Mumbai - you’ll want to come back

This was a truly memorable tour, which incorporated sights and experiences that gave us a taste for Mumbai and a desire to return in the future and see more. Sight - magnificent architecture and lots of information about the history of the city. Smell - the fantastic spice market, where our guide treated us to some spices to take home and use in our cooking - to remind us of our wonderful holiday to India. Taste - lunch in a really nice restaurant. Hearing - the amazing infectious Bollywood music that accompanied our dance class. Touch - touching the lives of the local community with a local train ride - no air conditioning, but electric fans fixed to the ceiling and no doors!!! Thanks to Namrata Ghandi, our guide for her warmth, enthusiasm, knowledge and great sense of humor.

Knowledgable and fun day with Aman

We spent a really interesting and fun day around Mumbai with Aman and highly recommend booking with him if you want real insights into everyday living in the city and it’s past. He’s obviously a local guy and seems to know everyone we met. He first gave us a potted history of Mumbai as we wandered around the Gateway area then spent the day walking and driving from one fascinating venue to another - each one brought to life by the people he introduced us to and by his infectious enthusiasm for his home city. My favourite was a visit to the spice market where on one traders stall we had full access to the mixing, heating, grinding and sale of spices. This guy seems to love his job and loves people so we feel really privileged to have spent the day with him. At the laundry, the restaurant, the dance studio and with the dobbawallers he introduced us to the people and made us feel like their special guest. And on the train journey he looked after us well!! It’s a great day out and we gained so much insight into Mumbai life. Fascinating day and a very good tour guide.

Sensational Day in Mumbai

Our guide was Rrupesh who was amazing! His enthusiasm for the city was infectious and he was thoughtful and professional throughout the tour. We started with a really interesting visit to see laundry Mumbai style . We had fun at The Gateway to India when several families wanted to have photos with us. Rrupesh took photos of us at all locations which we appreciated. Learning about the Tiffin workers was really interesting and astounding that errors in orders or deliveries are really rare. The Bollywood Dance session was excellent with an enthusiastic teacher. Lunch was delicious-we had the fish thali. The Spice market was very aromatic and unlike any we have seen before in our travels as tailor made spice blends are tempered and ground for each customer - it was certainly a heady aromatic experience. We enjoyed some Masala Tea whilst there. The train ride was great too and Victoria Station is magnificent. Our driver was excellent too and it was great to chat with Rrupesh about a wide range of issues during our car journeys. A 5 star tour which we can highly recommend.

Wonderfull!!

Through various experiences combining history, culture and encounters that Mumbai reveals itself and awakens our meaning! On the program: stroll through the colonial district where the city has a historical heritage, visit the spice market, initiation to dance with a Hollywood dance choreographer, tasting typical local dishes…. two days in Mumbai is not enough ... but this was the best introduction EVER

I was overwhelmed coming from the Texas at the size of the city of Mumbai .It was so exhilarating to find so many people connecting as if I was watching a well orchestrated symphony. I am certain the reason was my guide Heer G. She is the most enthusiastic person, so knowledgeable about her city's history as well as current events. But she truly wanted to make sure that what I came to India to experience .... The culture , the food , and most of all the graciousness of her people happened at every turn . I will return to Mumbai and insist on another guided adventure with Heer.

Best of Mumbai in a Day

We had such a fun and educational day. If you have only a day in Mumbai this tour will give you a highlight of what is special about this city. We started with the main architectural sites of the city (Gate Way of India, Taj Palace, Victoria Station, etc). . We learned about and practiced Bollywood dancing. We saw how the dabbawalas distribute the lunch boxes. We had a lovely lunch in a shopping district where we could explore some custom dress shops containing beautiful saris. The best stop for us was the spice market where we could see suppliers custom roasting and pounding out Marsalis for local families. Great day!

We had an amazing full day experience in Mumbai due to our dear tour guide Aman. Highly recommend Aman as a tour guide! He knows cities very well, he is fun, easygoing and friendly! Me & my husband enjoyed the tour very much! Thank you!!

Aman was the best tour guide. He has lots knowledge and a great personality. We spent the entire day laughing and creating memories to last a life time. We will most definitely be back and would take another tour with him again. Highly recommend!

Great Five Senses tour of incredible Mumbai

We had a lovely tour with Batul. She was funny, informative and full of energy. Our highlight (or lowlight if you were watching 🤪) was learning an Indian dance routine !

Fabulous introduction to the many facets of Mumbai

We had a wonderful day in Mumbai exploring the sights but also learning more about its history, people and what makes it so unique. Our guide Krupesh was fun to be with and constantly checked with us regarding the schedule & sequence of stops and made sure we were enjoying our day. He also took some fabulous photos & shared tips on how to capture the best aspects of the tour. His attention to detail and knowledge of the city made it extra special. We thoroughly recommend this company and our guide. We don’t have much time on this trip but would love to come back and take advantage of some of the other tours they offer.

Brilliant. I think we ended up with 9 or 10 senses by the end of this tour. Historic buildings, dhobi wallas, Tiffin Delivery men and chillies by the bucket load interspersed by a delicious curry lunch. What more can you ask for? All provided by an entertaining and knowledgeable guide named Heer who has a good sense of humour. Oh. Don’t forget to bring your dancing pumps!!

An Experience to Remember and Superb Guide

First and foremost, our tour guide Aman Wallia, was beyond amazing. His English is excellent. Aman made Mumbai come alive beyond our expectations. His knowledge of history, architecture and how Mumbai came into being and its unique culture makes the Five Senses Tour experience deeply special. Moreover, Aman has warm connections with the various people we met along the way ranging from spice sellers to dabawalas.

Amazing Introduction to Mumbai - Batul is the BEST

Batul was a FANTASTIC guide. She showed us the city from her eyes/experiences and I learned so much about India. She led us on the 5 Senses Tour and also the Mumbai at Dawn Tour. She actually bought a couple things from the vendors so we could smell the flowers, taste the fruit, feel the spices. I very much recommend Batul and the No Footprints group.

A great day in Mumbai

We had only one full day in Mumbai but Namrata Ghandi gave us a great overview of the different aspects of this amazing city. We visited all the key buildings including Gateway to India, the spice market, museums, the train station- and we did a short trip on a local train. Lunch in a local restaurant was excellent (we loved the butter chicken!) and our Bollywood dance session was great fun, though best forgotten! Namrata was great at taking photos of us together and made it a special day.

Bombay is a feeling and Mumbai is a name

We did the 5 senses tour of Mumbai with Namrata Gandhi on Dec 31, 2023. It was absolutely fantastic. Namrata picked us up at our hotel and then the adventure began. Namrata’s knowledge of the city, humor and ability to read us made the day super special. It was the perfect way to get an overview of the city, with the opportunity to explore more of Mumbai on our own and feel super comfortable doing it. Namrata was candid about her life in Mumbai and the city it self. She had us laughing the entire time and we’ve made a new friend based in Mumbai. She provided unique perspectives and answered our questions honestly. Mumbai’s customs and traditions are so different from our experience and she was masterful at making us feel comfortable and part of the city at every step of the way. The taste of Mumbai meal at Bombay Canteen is still a highlight of our two weeks in India.

Totally worth it - a fantastic day!

Such a fun day! Starting with sightseeing of such impressive architecture and historical buildings, followed by a hilarious Bollywood dance lesson, topped by an absolutely delicious lunch! With great viewings in between of the local "dry cleaners" and the local " Uber eats" and finishing with the intense aromas of the spice market. A very well put together tour withNami, a hilarious guide! Thank you for a fantastic day and I can't wait to get home to use my spices!

Historical and contemporary Mumbai - live the city in a day

Great way to experience Mumbai in all its aspects, both historical and contemporary. Saw the main historical attractions but also experienced some fun/contemporary activities (Bollywood dance, riding local trains, taste local food, etc) that allow you to “live” the city rather than “visit” it. Heer excellent guide, very knowledgeable and very well travelled - also very likeable personality. Highly recommended.

Excellent immersion tour!

The tour was great! Lively and informative and we covered a lot of ground! We visited heritage sites, markets and places of interest and the Bollywood dance class was a fun diversion! Namrata was a great guide and super charming.

All 5 parts of the day were informative, took a train ride,had great local food, the outdoor washing and saw the city from a locals perspective. Just what we hoped for!

From the morning pickup to the afternoon drop off and all the great stuff in between, this tour was just what we hoped for: not just an overview of top 5-10 Mumbai highlights, but also the stories behind the history. Namrata (Nami) brought it all to life. She’s funny, engaged, incredibly knowledgeable and a pro at introducing Mumbai to foreigners. We had already visited some of the key sites on the tour, but we’re glad we went again with Nami - her historical and social overlay was much more interesting than just reading the plaques. The experiences that are harder for foreigners to access — Dhobi Ghatt, the spice market, the train ride, the dabbawallahs and the mini Bollywood dance class — were the gems of the tour for us. All along the way, Nami customized our experience based on our requests, making sure we were comfortable, happy, and learning/experiencing the best and most interesting Mumbai has to offer. We also appreciated that she integrated our 8-year-old daughter into the tour, patiently answering her questions, joking with her and indulging her. By the end they were best friends, without sacrificing the integrity of the tour. We hope to do more tours with Nami!

Fun, interactive city tour

Aman was our tour guide for the day on our trip to Mumbai. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area. The tour included lunch at a local Parsi restaurant, a Bollywood dance lesson, a fun interactive tour of the spice market and a fascinating visit to the site of the famous Mumbai lunch box delivery system. Would highly recommend Aman Wallia as a guide in Mumbai.

Amazing day with Aman!

What an amazing excursion we had with Aman! He picked us up from our hotel with a driver and took us to the Gateway of India, where he walked us through the history of the surrounding area. He also recommended some nearby spots for us to check out on our own after the tour. Since it was a hot and humid day, Aman deftly adapted the tour to make it more comfortable for us. Instead of walking on the street, we took an air-conditioned bus to the next stop, which we really appreciated. Aman also gave us an amazing experience of riding the Mumbai subway to our next stop. He continued to entertain us with fun facts and took wonderful photos along the way. My favorite part of the tour was Lalbaug Spice Market. Aman gave us a close-up view of the spices being pounded and helped us get lots of samples and purchase spices for our whole group. Overall, it was a great set of stops that were made even better by such an energetic and intelligent guide. Plus, Aman is a wonderful photographer and shared a link of all the amazing moments he captured.

My wife and did the 5 senses tours with Aman Wallia and cannot recommend Aman and the tour enough. What a great experience. We really got to experience Mumbai authentically. We learnt so much, had so much fun. We visited the Gateway of India, the Taj Hotel, walked around the streets of South Mumbai, took a train ride, danced to Bollywood music, had lunch, went to the spice market, had cutting chai, saw the Dhaba Wallas, went to the Dhobi Ghat and so so much more. Aman is a Mumbai treasure, do yourself a service, and book him with no hesitation. You will leave a much better version of yourself after this experience. I honestly am willing to do this tour again because once is not enough. What a joy of person he is to be around. So kind, so helpful, so full of knowledge, and a desire to educate. Loads of personality!

If you want a tour of South Mumbai full of personality, then this is the one for you! The day flew by without feeling rushed or hectic. Aman was the perfect tour guide: witty, urbane, knowledgeable and easy to chat with. He taught me so much about the sights, sounds, smells and history of Mumbai without it ever feeling like a lesson – it always felt like a conversation. Warning: he does pepper the tour with fun little quiz questions, but I won’t reveal any of the answers here : ) An absolute highlight of my vacation in Mumbai!

My husband and I took this tour and LOVED it. Amen is an amazing tour guide! He has so much information. During this tour we visited the Gateway of India, did a Bollywood dance class, spice market, took a train ride, drank some sugar cane juice and chai, dabbawalas (lunch food delivery), dhobi ghat (laundry mat), and so much more! Highly recommend and ask to be paired with Amen! He also takes amazing pictures!

Delightful in every way.

We had the most amazing day. Namrata was warm and delightful. She endured that we experienced all 5 of the senses as per the tours description. Hearing the history and seeing the sights, tasting the food and the amazing smells and sounds of the spice market, what a delight. The Bollywood dancing lesson was so much fun and the train ride was one of the highlights for my husband. Namrata also ensured that I got to see all the beautiful art deco buildings after I mentioned how much I liked them. Would definitely recommend.

Experiencing Mumbai effortlessly

What a super introduction to life in Mumbai. We explored the spice market and watched the chilis and herbs cooking and grinding and becoming our favorite seasonings. Masala tea maker producing his own special blend of sweet warm spicy tea. Our guide led us effortlessly through the streets to discover the real world of Mumbai: the trains, the street vendors, the sidewalk artists. We had a personal Bollywood style dance lesson!! We ended with a delicious meal and came away feeling all our senses had been stimulated and wanting more!

Excellent guide makes all the difference

Krupesh (KP) is an absolutely charming guide. His command of the language and knowledge of Mumbai makes it a lot of fun. You would never find your way around to all these spots without this tour. KP made it very special and we highly highly recommend him. PS He’s also completely familiar with all the best and cool restaurants in town

Amazing day and experiences for all five senses!!

I loved how this tour explored our five senses and gave us experiences unlike other tours. The Bollywood dance class (sound), the stirring of spices in the market (smell), the history of the India gateway (sight), the delicious lunch with new delicacies (taste), and the train ride (touch) brought Mumbai alive and not just by listening to a guide. KP was so fun to spend the day with - funny jokes and a warm personality. We loved our tour with him! This is a fantastic itinerary!
