Great Day Trip out of Melbourne!

Overall an excellent trip ultimately complementing our time in Melbourne. The animal sanctuary provided novel experiences including the opportunity to get close to the kangaroos. The winery visits were of high quality providing excellent tasting options and lunch. The tour was not rushed allowing all of us to enjoy the day. Paul was an excellent guide who made us part of his "family" for the day ensuring that the day was enjoyable to all. It was clear he was well respected by the staffs at all of the establishments we visited tailoring the visits to our desires. I will be recommending this tour option to my colleagues who frequent Melbourne.

Great tour

Great balance of walking and wildlife with food and wine! Our guide Paul was fabulous and had the inside scoop on the animal sanctuary as well as both winery stops.

Definitely worth of the Money!

Our tour guide Paul is very friendly and helpful throughout pre-tour discussion and the tour day. Very knowledgeable in Melbourne and Yarra Valley history and Wine. It has good selection of Wineries. The mix of Healesville and Wineries can fit every group’s needs. The car is nice and clean, 10 seats for only 6 people group this time. The price is slightly higher than others but it’s worthy! Highly recommended!

Wine and Wildlife

Had a great small group tour of sanctuary and then delicious lunch with a couple of wine tastings afterwards - Adrian was a great guide and made everything run smooth - animals were up close and personal and had added bonus of seeing some wild kangaroos in the fields after last tasting. Well done and highly recommended day outside of Melbourne.

Koalas and wine

This was an amazing trip. Rob our tour guide was really cool and friendly. We did a wine tasting as well as a sanctuary tour. The vineyards are breathtaking and the wines are amazing. French barrels in Australia!!!! A must do on your trip to Melbourne.

Great Overall Experience, would book again

I am from the States (Houston to be exact) so wanted to make sure whatever I booked was worth it. This did not disappoint. Our tour guide Cam was awesome. We had a small group of 5, so there was space and great conversation all over. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind. We were also fortunate that just 3 of us checked out Healesville Sanctuary and we had TWO tour guides so that was awesome. Food was great, much better than expected, with several options. Wine tasting was also fun. Must do when visiting Melbourne. Thanks Rob/Cam.

Great Day in Yarra Valley

We had the pleasure of going to Yarra Valley with Adrian. He was very friendly and we enjoyed the information on Australia and his personal stories. He really engaged the group. Some people went for a total day of wine tasting and the other half spent the morning at the wildlife sanctuary. We didn’t get a volunteer guide at the sanctuary, but that ended up okay. There were lots of children there because of the spring break. It didn’t seem overly crowded and was nice that many animals weren’t in cages and we were wondering how they (eg, kangaroos) knew not to cross the roped off areas. There were lots of Koalas which was great because they are so cute and you get a close up view. The lunch and wine tasting at Yering was fabulous. Then we went to a wine and cheese paring at Debortoli which was equally great. Initially we thought this tour might be on the expensive side, but given the lunch and the higher end wines we experienced it was well worth it.

What a great experience! I highly recommend booking this. I went to Australia on a solo birthday trip and wanted to do something with a larger group of people. This was exactly what I needed... The sanctuary was great! It was not super crowded and easy to follow and get around, made for a wonderful experience. Plus, the wineries, after coming from a zoo tour, were PERFECT. Cam, the tour coordinator for the day, was an absolute gem. He gave me so many recommendations for Melbourne and made me feel as though I was apart of the group even whilst on a solo trip. 10/10!!

Great Outing for Melbourne

Awesome Trip. First Class. Rob the guide is great. We enjoyed all three stops on the tour. Highly recommend. We took a scenic route and saw lots of wild kangaroos on the way back. Lunch was excellent

Overall a great day of wildlife and wine

Our tour was exactly as it was described. Paul was a great tour guide. The wineries were lovely , lunch could improve a bit. I had some great food and wine pairing in Mendoza Argentina and Chilean wine country. It should have been at least 2-3 course , not one. And couple of glass of wine.

A World-Class Tour!

We had a an absolutely great day with Paul! He met us at the cruise port with a nicely appointed van and drove eight of us on an amazing Yarra Valley wine adventure. We did tastings at four cellars and had lunch and another tasting at the fifth cellar. Paul was cordial and knowledgeable about wine, the Yarra Valley, and Melbourne. We couldn’t have asked for a better day! We highly recommend this tour!

A must do experience in Melbourne!

Our tour guide was friendly and very helpful. He picked us up on time. The animal sanctuary was a great place to see all the animals of Australia and we really enjoyed the private guide that took us on the tour. Both wineries we visited had great tastings and our lunch was yummy! I had my first taste of kangaroo!

Perfect combination

Sanctuary was very interesting and a the koala encounter a lovely experience. Wine tasting very pleasant with excellent lunch.

Wonderful day in the Yarra Valley.

I highly recommend this tour. Our guide, Cam, was excellent. The bus was comfortable (the ride to Yarra Valley takes about 1h15). The sanctuary was superb and really worth stopping at. The lunch at Yering Station was delicious and the wines were fantastic. We then went to De Bortoli where we enjoyed more wines and an awesome cheese tasting. Paul, the Vinetrekker tour director, is very good at communicating all details about the tour as well and makes sure you are all set to enjoy your day. I am taking great memories back home (and good wines too).

A unique tour with fun combination of wildlife and wine.

Had a perfect day with Paul and Vinetrekker. It was a wonderful balance of spending time at the Healesville Animal Sanctuary (which is just beautiful and has so much to see in a lovely natural setting) and wine tastings and delicious lunch. Paul does everything right in planning each stop giving plenty of time to enjoy. We never felt rushed. The wines were excellent with informative comments by each of the winery proprietors. I highly recommend this tour. You will really enjoy it.

Wildlife and wine! Best tour in Melbourne

Absolutely great day! Adrian was out guide and he was great! Loved healesville sanctuary. Great to do that first and then head off for lunch at a beautiful winery (views were amazing as was the food). Then two tastings (one with a cheese pairing) and back to our hotel. Highly recommend!

Perfect Day

Perfect day in the Yarra Valley. Our guide, Cam was wonderful, the visit to the sanctuary was very enjoyable, lunch was top notch and the wine tastings were fun and we learned a lot about the wines of this region. Highly recommend this tour.

What a wonderful trip to the Yarra Valley! Our driver and guide, Adrian, was friendly, knowledgeable and a great host. We had plenty of time at the Healesville Sanctuary to marvel at the wonderful wildlife of Australia! The lunch at Yering Winery was superb and the wine tasting was fantastic! We capped off the tour with a wine and cheese pairing and tasting at the de Bortoli winery. We would highly recommend this lovely small group tour of the beautiful Yarra Valley area!

Amazing!!

This was a fantastic experience! I went on this tour with my husband and we had a great time. Our tour guide was awesome and really knew his stuff. The animals were super cute!! The sanctuary was beautiful and very immersive. We had a great time at the winery as well. The wine and the food were very good! Loved the pairings!! Everything was such a great experience. We would highly recommend this tour and we would definitely do it again if we ever return to Melbourne.

Paul (not the owner the “other Paul”) was GREAT. The whole trip was an absolute delight. First time in Australia and of the three days wonderful days we have been here this was the crown jewel!

Animals, wine and fun

A great day at the Healsville animal sanctuary followed by a great lunch and wine tasting. Our guide an driver Paul did a wonderful job. One of the best excursions ever.

Very fun day!

We thoroughly enjoyed our day with our guide, Paul. He gave us some interesting regional history on our drive to the sanctuary. At the sanctuary, the volunteer guide Barbara showed us around. She was incredibly knowedgable in the animals and plants. We enjoyed seeing all of the animals before heading out to sample some very tasty wines. I highly recommend this tour.

We loved the wineries, the landscape and the Koalas. They are pontual and the van is very confortable

Great tour!...

Great tour! Nice way to spend a day out of Melbourne. The car was comfortable, the driver very friendly and professional. I appreciated having a guide at the Sanctuary to learn more about the native animals. The wine tasting was great, good selection and beautiful lunch. Both vineyards were of very high quality, making it a very good value tour and worth the money.

Animals and vino

Thoroughly enjoyed our day. Our driver/guide Cam was very good and looked after us well. We enjoyed the chance to see the animals at Healsville and enjoyed the wine tasting and lunch even more! A nice small group of people made for a fun and interesting day. Would recommend.

Fun day trip

Excellent day trip, well curated and a fun group. The Yarra Valley is so beautiful and the wines we tasted were delicious!

This was such a great experience. I would highly recommend it. Our tour guide was amazing. So cool to see all of the animals without them being locked up in cages. You can tell they’re well cared for. Both of the wineries we went to were beautiful with friendly staff.

One of the best tours we've done

Fantastic day out, well worth the price - one of the best tours we've done. We were super well looked after by our guide, Rob, throughout the day - he was a fountain of local knowledge and great fun. Animals at Healesville were beautiful to see, as were the two wineries we visited for tastings and lunch. Nice small group, comfortable transport, and door-to-door service. Loved this day out and thoroughly recommend it.

Wild life and wine tasting!

Rob, our guide, was awesome. Wildlife Sanctuary was an impressive facility. Wine Tastings were extremely enjoyable and informative. We would absolutely do this again.

Great guide, great wine & local animals

We had an amazing trip with our guide Paul! There is a private tour in the sanctuary which was really nice and well organized. After that we went to two wineries which served very tasty & high quality food and the wine & cheese tasting was outstanding. A day well spent! Paul was a kind and great guide who shared a lot of interesting information along the way. Hotel pick-up was very convenient. We can highly recommend this trip!

Healesville sanctuary was...

Healesville sanctuary was the highlight of my day - we had zoo keepers guiding us through the sanctuary and giving us more facts about the animals. The wine tasting experiences were fantastics - the food was great!

The driver was very helpful and welcoming. During the whole day he was very kind and knowledgeable. His driving 🚗 was excellent and safe. All the commentary was very professional. Highly recommend.

A wonderful and very educational day trip. Visited two wine producers, sampling some lovely wines from the Yarra Valley region. The Healesville Sanctuary trip allowed us to get close to a number of native Australian species. Our guide for the day was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly ensuring a great day for this small group tour.

Superb day out!

We had an amazing trip to the animal sanctuary and vineyards with Rob. How lucky were we have him as our guide! Not only the loveliest of people but his encyclopaedic knowledge on all things Australian was outstanding! An absolute gentleman and a real asset to the company.

The tour of the wildlife sanctuary was definitely the highlight of my trip. Our guide was also super knowledgeable about the local area, as well as the Australian wine industry.

Got a Quick tour of city getting out of town. Really enjoyed Healsville Sanctuary to get first intro to Aussie creatures. Dine and wine was wonderful intro to local treats. Wow, what a great first day here.

Would do this again anytime!

We were picked up from our hotel by Paul who turned out to be one of Melbourne’s treasures. He drove us to the Healesville animal sanctuary, where we were given a private tour of the sanctuary. What an amazing place. Good way to start an Australian visit. Then we were driven to 2 different vineyards where we had a delicious lunch, and later, a wine and cheese pairing. Paul is beyond knowledgeable. He was intelligent, friendly, and giving us the best experience was his goal. Would do this tour again any time!

A wondrous day of wildlife n wine tastings.

This is highly recommended for all visitors. Our driver n guide Paul is extremely good .. giving info n clarifications throughout the day. His pace was just excellent .. we didn’t feel rushed at all throughout the trip. The vineyard lunch was absolutely delightful at Yering Station n the other vineyard tasting at deBartoli was amazing as it came pared with cheeses .. that was a great highlight. We did hv a wonderful n would highly recommend this company to tour with.

Great Day with Rob!

If you’re thinking about doing the tour - do it! It’s absolutely worth it! We were picked up by our lovely driver Rob in the morning. After we picked up everyone, we headed off to the first Winery. Rob told us some interesting facts throughout the whole trip. We visited two wineries before Rob dropped us off at the Sanctuary. Rob told us that they try to choose family-run-wineries what I find very lovely. The other participants were doing two more wineries as we went to the Healesville Sanctuary. The first winery included a cheese-tasting which was wonderful! We had lunch in the second winery. It had an amazing view. The food was way over my expectations, it was sooo delicious. It was first class lunch. At the Sanctuary we had a personal guide who lead us through the park in approximately 2 ½ hours. After that we were picked up again and headed back to Sydney. We hesitated to book the tour because of the price. But after the tour we can say - it is totally worth it! It was a great day with lovely people, amazing food and wine and a short but wonderful stay at the sanctuary.
