This company cancelled our trip and would not provide a refund as was promised beforehand. Very disappointed and out of pocket tourists. Do not book with this company.

An unforgettable flight experience

It was a flight of a lifetime for us! The team at GB was efficient, well organised and very professional. We were pleased, and assured, to see that they took great effort to check the weather condition as there was a slight drizzle in the early morning, and the flight eventually took off from another site. Special kudos to Raine - she was very friendly and energetic, and helped to take photos and videos for us and everyone else. It was interesting to watch our pilot Jacob "fly" the balloon as we were just next to him, and he ensured a smooth flight and landing. He even pointed out the hopping kangaroos just before we were landing. The whole experience from the balloon being inflated to assisting in packing up, the stunning views over Yarra Valley, and the floating feeling was truly amazing. Thanks to Theo too, for the safe transfers to and fro CBD. Just 1 comment - the breakfast at Balgownie was average and a little over priced, just because it included a glass of champagne, but the vineyard view outside is very picturesque. We would definitely recommend Global Ballooning!

The hills, the clouds, the picturesque view.

What a way to enjoy the view of the Yarra Valley and surrounding suburbs. The team at Global Ballooning were all enjoying themselves and so made it more enjoyable for us. We were on the biggest balloon with the best pilot, Jacob. From the start of helping out to set up the balloon, to the hour flight that didn't feel like that long, to landing, packing up, it was all part of the amazing experience. Highly recommend!

Great Experience!!

Views were amazing! The pilot was great and I would 100% recommend. At the start, I was a bit nervous but it is so surreal once you’re up in the air. It’s peaceful and I ended up loving it.

Take the scenic route!

Jake piloted a lovely ride over Yarra Valley and kept us informed about what we could see along the way. He also made sure we got some variety: we saw the sun on a cloudy morning, inside a cloud, and 360° views of the farmland below. The experience, including set up, packing away, buffet breakfast, and the transfer with Raine and Mark(?), was worth it for a fun start to my day.

The fog just made it more magical

The whole experience from inflating the balloon to packing it up is terrific. It was a foggy morning in the valley so we were truly amazed when the world looked so different above the clouds, it was gorgeous. To watch a new day wake up whilst floating around in the air is magical, plus the fog just added to our whole experience, it didn't take away from it at all. We could see the ranges poking out above the clouds, we could see our shadow on the clouds below us and then when we had to descend, they were all encompassing with no visibility, just the sensation of quietness. Add to that listening to the sound of the burners from other balloons as they were landing around you and trying to focus on where they were because you could hear them before you could see them was like a discovery. All of this as well as the ride back to the vans across the paddocks were what made the whole morning so much fun. From making the booking to eating the breakfast the staff and crew were welcoming, friendly, professional and safe. A big thank you to our pilot Jacob and the ground crew. We chose this to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and I'm so glad we did because we will remember and talk about this for years to come.

A Bit Lacking

It was a cloudy day and the ride got a bit boring! It felt like we just stood still. Other rides I have been on cover a lot of territory to see the area. We kind of just went in a sloooow circle, not spectacular at all. But it was fun to help set up and take down. Our Pilot was great. Breakfast was good, at a local winery in a beautiful setting! BUT...ony one SMALL glass of champagne was offered.

Over the valley in 60 minutes :)

The pilot was great, he was friendly and answered all of our questions well. The pilot made us feel safe. He knew the area and could point out landmarks, he even took us over a mob of jumping Kangaroos! We loved being involved in the set up and pack up. It was a smooth flight and landing. As a person with mobility issues, I appreciate the availability of the accessibility basket. It made everything easy and the whole team was very helpful. Would highly recommend Global Ballooning!

Professional and lovely experience

Very professional and felt very safe. Kiff was amazing and took us over a lovely part of the Yarra Valley. Going above the clouds was amazing too!

Bucket list

A well organised team with great communication. Loved watching the whole experience from the balloons being filled to assisting to pack them away at the end. My daughter who had it on her 30 things to do before she’s 30 list, had a great time. I joined her and had a wonderful time, not nervous at all. A fantastic experience and a lovely buffet breakfast which was very tasty Thank you to you all you do an amazing job.

great balloon ride

everything was perfect. i brought my 85 year old mom on this flight. the staff couldn’t have been better. from start to finish they always made sure she was ok. from getting off the bus to getting in and out of the balloon.

A lifetime memory.

It was amazing to view the valley below and see kangaroos! The weather was perfect and seeing the other balloons in the sky was picture perfect. Everything, including the pick up assistants, the staff, balloon operator, and then breakfast was everything and more that was described.

Must do when in Melbourne!

My husband and I booked this during our vacation and it was definitely a highlight of our trip!! It was a very early wake up time so may be best to book this at the beginning of your traveling due to jet lag and you will probably wake up early anyways. The staff were very friendly (even when it was super early) and made it an enjoyable experience. The balloon flight had incredible views and was so magical at sunrise. We booked the breakfast option and it was so delicious!!

Very personal and friendly experience

We had a great time and experience with global ballooning. The owner Kiff took us on our flight which was very smooth and you could tell he was really dedicated to making sure everyone had a lovely time and that we were able to get a good view of the sun set. One of the staff members who runs the social media department for the company also came on our flight. She made sure we all had lots of photos and sent them all to us free of charge. We were able to get lots of great shots and loved every minute of it. Thanks to the team at global ballooning for giving us a great experience on New Year’s Day 😊

Superb view, superb weather. The scenery was excellent! The team was very professional in setting up and organising the group. Our pilot Jacob brought us up and down the skies a few times to enjoy the clouds and sunrise. Everything was superb!

Recommend getting hand warmers for those needing bit more warmth, but otherwise, what an amazing view from the top! Jacob our pilot was amazing from start to finish and got photos with the group.

Fantastic views and great experience overall. We did the ride with young kids (7 year olds) - they had a very exciting time.

Everything we hoped for

This trip was great! The staff was excellent preparing and explaining everything to us before and during the flight. The views are breathtaking and they even have a gopro taking pix of you during the flight which was nice. Steve was an outstanding pilot making sure we learned about ballooning and that we enjoyed ourselves. The 3am start time was a little rough but that’s a small price to pay for this adventure. You get to help a little with preparing for the flight and packing up afterwards which was actually fun. I recommend the buffet breakfast at Balgownie Estates afterwards - the food was tasty though after being up for 5 hours, we were hungry! Definitely recommend this trip even if you’re not keen on heights (like us).

GET THE SUNRISE FLIGHT!

GET THE SUNRISE FLIGHT! It was absolutely incredible! It's an early start (meeting point at 3.10am for our flight in December) but the views are just out of this world. We had Jacob as our pilot and he was unreal answering any questions we had and showing us the different regions of the Yarra Valley. The buffet breakfast is a must too as after the flight you are hungry and the spread they put on is 5 star. They cater for all kinds of breakfasts. Truly an experience that will stay with us forever.

therapeutic trip

I was traveling alone, and was very worried in the first place. The staff were very helpful. I missed the pickup and transfer option when I did the booking, and the staff was very thoughtful and was in comm with me about the transportation. I was able to be picked up, and travel with the rest of the passengers.The trip and views from the hot balloon were therapeutic! I really enjoyed it. It's really worth it!

Amazing Flight

A fantastic morning spent with highly qualified , friendly staff .Jacob was a great pilot and gave clear instructions and put everyone at ease.The actual balloon flight was out of this world and so peaceful to be gliding over the hills of the Yarra Valley .The sunrise was spectacular and we saw Kangaroos, wedge tail eagles ,plus, a fox as well as the farmed animals. Definitely worth waking up early for. Thank you to your impressive team that helped make my husband's birthday present very memorable.

Magical first balloon flight

It was a great experience taking the balloon flight for the first time! The sky was bright a little too early in summer, so we didn’t really catch the sunrise hues. But we still managed to take amazing photos, included those nice shots taken by gopro that was arranged by the company.

The overall experience was truly exceptional. I arranged a discounted flight for myself and my partner, and it turned out to be the perfect setting for a proposal. The assistance provided by the staff, particularly Sanshiro and Nick, was exceptionally commendable. Their guidance was subtle yet effective, as they directed us to trhe ideal photo locations and highlighted some great spots. This allowed me to execute the proposal discreetly behind a backdrop of balloons, surprising my partner when I popped the question (who remained unaware of the secret plan). The view was breathtaking, the experience was one of a kind. Towards the end when we were folding the deflated balloon, Sanshiro took some photos of me and my now fiancee inside the balloon! It was such a wonderful experience. I've been in the customer service industry for nearly 2 decades and the services that we got from the staff that day is a solid top 3 in my entire life. I 100% recommend the Yarra Valley morning flight and would definitely fly with them again. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATE SANSHIRO AND NICK FOR MAKING OUR MOMENT EXTRA SPECIAL.
