Booked through my travel agency, I was delighted to find this was a one-to-one tour with Kieran who is a mine of information. I could not have experienced what Kieran showed me while providing a fascinating commentary on each section of the city and environs. Walking through the city centre with such a knowledgeable guide was a privilege. Thank you Kieran for a memorable experience. The private guide was not prepared for St. Patrick's day and other turbulent events that half of the city was closed that day.

This is definitely a “Must Do”

Marty was our tour guide and he was absolutely amazing. He designed the trip “on the fly” to meet our needs. Additionally, I am a disabled traveler and Marty took extremely good care of me. EXTREMELY good care of me. We had the most incredible time at Victoria market. Drop dead awesome! We had a wonderful time visiting the graffiti alleys and botanical gardens. Marty is a “stop and smell the roses” kinda of guy so we had lovely stops for coffee as well as ice cream. He was soooo knowledgeable about the city, its buildings and history. I give my unqualified recommendation regarding Marty as well as the company. This is definitely a must do!

Great tour in Melbourne

We had a private tour with Marty - who was excellent. Marty made several great suggestions and then let us choose where to go and how long we wanted to spend at each place. Marty was very knowledgeable about Melbourne and its culture and history. He was also lots of fun with a great, friendly personality. It felt like we were touring with a friend.

An educational and fulfilling day in Melbourne!

We had an amazing time touring the city of Melbourne with James. The tour typically starts with a stop at a coffee shop. We do not drink coffee so we had to immediately divert from the original plan. James easily adjusted and as we all got to know each other he adapted the itinerary to suit our interests. We went on this tour our first day in Melbourne and he was able to give us ideas on what to do and see during our free time for the remainder of our stay. He was extremely knowledgeable of all things Melbourne. I was initially very hesitant about going on a private tour but he made us feel like we were visiting the city with a good friend. I don't think I will be able to do a group tour again! Thank you James for an amazing day!

As advertised we had three Melbourne days with a guide who is professional and connected. In addition Sam T was sensitive to our preferences and pace. We did the city tour with food and street art, the boroughs, the Mornington Peninsula with animal sanctuary and the little penguins. It is great to get educated about history and current life, but even better to tour with a guide who is fun.

The Tour for People Who Hate Tours

Our 5 hour tour with Dean was, without question, the highlight of our 3 days in Melbourne and one of the overall highlights of our family’s trip to Australia. He was simply OUTSTANDING! Our kids - 20 and 17 - hate tours and usually grouse or secretly mock the guide throughout. That definitely wasn’t the case with Dean - our 20 year old still raves about him and just asked him for tour recommendations in Prague. Dean didn’t just know Melbourne - he knew EVERYONE in Melbourne. Want to see street artists in their studio - Dean’s got you covered. Dying to have the best croissant in town that isn’t on every tourist’s list - Dean again. It was truly an iconic experience!

Excellent Local Guiding Experience

Aaron was an excellent guide. We learned a lot about both indigenous and modern art in Melbourne. The previous few days we walked all over getting familiar with the Central Business District, but did not fully appreciate what we were seeing. Great Orientation Tour

We took this tour to get a orientation to Melbourne and get a sense of what was where. Well Mercedes did a wonderful job of accomplishing that! We spent a fun and comfortable 4 hours seeing and learning about Melbourne and Australia history. Good food sampling as well! Mercedes knows the right vendors in the market! This tour allowed us to really know how to get around the next day on our own. Well worth it.

Wonderful Toursmof MelBourne and the Great Ocean Road

Rich and I spent two days with Kate first touring the city and then touring the Great Ocean Road. Kate did a great job of introducing us to Melbourne and giving us her insights into the city’s landmarks, lifestyle, and culture. She made the Great Ocean Road tour even more fun than it would have been by stocking the car with her favorite Australia foods. As our tour progressed we tried Vegemite, Minties, Lamington cake, and other treats. She also went out of her way to find koalas for us... success we saw two! Kate has a friendly and energetic personality and we enjoyed our time with her.

Excellent personal tour!

My personal tour guide was Mercedes and I highly recommend her if you book your personal Boroughs of Melbourne tour through Localing. She was very professional, friendly, and knowledgable about the history of all the locations we visited, including Fitzroy, Victoria Market, numerous arcades and laneways, and city buildings and landmarks while walking or driving through the city. She even helped me out with a couple of personal errands and let me take a short rest when I needed to. You can’t go wrong with Mercedes and Localing!

An amazing tour with an exceptional guide.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour guide, Mercedes. She was so personable and knowledgeable. Her knowledge of the city was amazing. We loved the special tips about places to visit and eat. Locating private tours

What an amazing day. We actually did the private tour of streets, art, neighborhoods then went on a drive to a wildlife “zoo” to feed/touch Walaby’s and Kangaroos and to Phillips Island to see the penguins. Cate, our guide, was exceptional! She felt like an old friend who loved sharing information and knowledge to new arrivals. That was certainly good to feel that way as she picked us up at 10am and delivered us back to hotel after Phillips Is at midnight! Today we have a day on our own to revisit a number of the spots that we got a quick taste of around town with Cate and will also take the time for the art museum, botanical gardens and other sites of interest curated by Cate’s comments throughout the day. One could easily have split the local vs. “road trip” part of this up, but even tough it was a long day, it’s giving us a great two free days to explore now!

Best Way to See Melbourne

Our family of 4 (with two kids, ages 13 and 11) had a fantastic day touring Melbourne with Dan on New Year's Eve. Having grown up and gone to university in the city, he has an encyclopedic knowledge of its history, neighborhoods and culture and did a great job of conveying this information in an accessible and entertaining manner to each member of our family. He is also very easygoing and will flex the tour to ensure your particular interests are satisfied. We were driven around in a relatively new and very nice Mercedes van and were very comfortable throughout the entire tour. I highly recommend this tour when visiting Melbourne.

Great tour with Kate!

We did a bike tour with Kate today and my husband and I had a wonderful time. Kate knows the city like the back of her hand which was great for some first time Melbourne visitors from California. We saw great sights, toured the entire city, and had some awesome food along the way. We finished both tired and satisfied which was all we could ask for. Fabulous Flexible Tour

My husband and I had a wonderful day with Mer on our Boroughs of Melbourne tour yesterday. Mer was full of information in each of the areas we visited. A great day in Melbourne.

We had a full day tour of Melbourne today with Sam. We’ve toured with lots of guides in lots of places, but this was something special. Of course we told the booking agent the kinds of things we were interested in seeing, but Sam was able to intuit which of many options were the best choices for us. There was no pressure and no rush, but at the end of the day we felt that we had a pretty good idea of what Melbourne is all about from someone who was born and raised here. We had a fabulous experience and felt like we had made a friend. We highly recommend this tour.

We recently went on the Boroughs of Melbourne Tour. The city is amazing but even more amazing was our tour guide Patrick. We’ve been on many tours and Patrick has made Melbourne the most memorable. He is the best.

Great private tour

Sue and Libby created the perfect tour to meet our needs. We were hesitant to book a private customized tour as we had been disappointed with another such tour last year but Sue went out of her way through assure me this one would be different and she and Libby definitely delivered. They created the perfect food safari for us and a memorable Melbourne experience. We didnt make it easy on Libby, when we sprung on her that we weren't big coffee or brewery people but she adapted her tour plans immediately and we had the best day! I had Patrick as my tour guide, he was fun, informative and flexible. He was able to take me to a few great sites around Australia and I was able to capture some of the breathtaking views. I think he even summoned a Kangaroo to meet us on the tour when we ventured off-road, incredible site to see them in the wild, amazing.

Localing is Top Notch in Melbourne

My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon in Australia and had the pleasure of spending 2.5 days with Eliot of Localing. Eliot was very knowledgable, friendly, funny, and made our time spent very enjoyable and added to helping make our special trip even that much better. Our first day we went to Mornington Peninsula to go wine tasting and got to meet the koalas and kangaroos on the way. We did a half day in Melbourne boroughs on the city tour and on the third day did an epic drive of the Great Ocean Road as well as seeing the 12 Apostles. Josh Howard, our tour guide, took us to all over Melbourne (St. Kilda, Caulfield) and to Phillip Island. We had limited time to get to know Melbourne, so we really appreciated Sam allowing us to see the city through the eyes of a proud son of one of the acknowledged best cities of the world.

City Tour

Best tour ever! Driver took us to places of real living in Melbourne. Beautiful parks, buildings, China Town. Sam was very nice and would recommend him for everyone!

What a Tour!

We spent 2 full days on tour in nd around Melbourne. Day 1 took in the suburbs with their unique architecture and then headed steadily to the centre. The tour was informative, fascinating and our guide Daniel Bernstein was mesmeric. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, ever patient and immersed in the history, architecture and culture of Melbourne, Australia [and well able to riff on many other countries around the world too]. This was first class. On Day 2 Daniel took us to the Mornington Peninsula to take in a wonderful wildlife sanctuary and the varied and beautiful countryside of the peninsula itself; rich and replete with vineyards and dairies. No trouble was too great. Thank you and in particular a glowing and effusive reference for Daniel Bernstein; a guide amongst guides. a one off!

Excellent full day guided tour

Last Sunday, December 8, our family had a full guided tour in Melbourne with Tess. It was really awesome. I‘be had a lot of guided tours in many cities and this one was very special. Tess is a lovely young girl with deep knowledge about her city and she knows all it’s secret spots. It gave us a different view of the city and we felt like locals. Thank you Tess: Sydney is for a date but Melbourne is for marriage! All the best from your Portuguese friends Diogo, Vera and Eduardo.

Tom was full of “useless” but fun facts. He showed us lots of fun places, and when we mentioned we loved beer, he took us to a very fun brewery to end our trip. Would recommend to anyone visiting to take this trip.

Kudos to Sam

My wife and I wanted to see Melbourne and learn its history, so we asked our hotel (the Park Hyatt) to arrange a tour. They contacted Localing who, in turn, sent us Sam Gudgeon. Sam proved to be not only an excellent tour guide, but also an intelligent, engaging and affable young man. Sam took us throughout the Melbourne metropolitan area, including beach stops and an extended walking tour of downtown Melbourne. Everywhere we went, Sam provided historical context and interesting backstory information for each noteworthy site, structure and general location we visited. Suited to perfection
