First time indoor skydiving. Felt very nervous. Need not have been. Our instructor Mike put us all at ease, clear instructions for what we needed to do. Felt extremely safe and enjoyed it so much booked a return visit 🙂 Great team and well organised

No accommodations those with hidden Disabilities

Having booked this for my husband as a birthday present and for him to go with our son. Reading online it says they are very friendly and accommodating for those with disabilities but I didn’t see that. My son as a genetic disorder causing severe learning difficulties and speech and language issues. I rang to ask some questions before hand to ensure he would be ok and have accommodations. I was told to complete the waiver online and add notes when booking but there was no where to add notes. So again I had to call discuss it. On the day the receptionist didn’t have any notes about it so again had to discuss it. And then when they got into the briefing area the instructor had no idea and I’ll be honest didn’t make any adjustments in the way he treated him. I know there’s only so much that can be done but I would have preferred them to just say no we can’t change what we do at the start. I told them he won’t understand hand signals and all he was doing was giving him hand signals. The one my son could understand and do himself was thumbs down. But again my son did this signal several times in a row without being taken off, it was only my husband waving to the instructor that he was taken off in hysterics. I had it all on video. And then the instructor wanted my husband to take his go quickly afterwards even though our son has crying his eyes out. He waited one person then rushed him on even though he could have let him wait a few more people. The other thing I didn’t understand was on my sons first go he was fine but very wobbly and unsure a bit but the instructor asked my husband if he wanted for him to take our son up high, honestly I think him asking that was ridiculous, he shouldn’t be doing that unlesss flyers so confidence or can at least stay stable. In all not impressed, the centre is very worn and tired looking, needs lots of tlc as well.

Good experience but the building/facilities need updating.

The place is run down and there aren't any refreshment facilities. The training video also needs updating. The staff are nice and our child enjoyed the experience (hence the three stars). The company needs to invest in the facilities and perhaps pay the staff more. They would be the only reason we would consider going back.

High flying fun

The weightless feeling is just unbelievable and the high flight with the instructor was really great, but it is very expensive for the amount of time you actually spend in the flight chamber.

So disappointed!

My husband booked the full ifly experience with photos/videos included for my 30th birthday. All was fine to start although there was a lot of waiting around with the first 45 minutes or so filling out forms, getting ready and waiting for others to finish their turn. Not the most welcoming environment, premises are quite run down staff are quite aloof.. We finally had our turn, get changed then headed down to the reception to retrieve our photos only to find 0 pictures or videos of me and just some of my husbands flight…We asked the staff for help who had a look and then awkwardly said they'd brb.. we could see them huddled up whispering about us (probably as they knew something had gone wrong) but no one wanted to face us..so reluctantly another young girl then came back to bluntly tell us there was a glitch in the system and the photos didn't upload (plus a bunch of other non related excuses) She said we could go back up put our gear on and take some more pictures. We had a table booked for dinner, and wed been there for a while now just waiting around (and even more for them to sort the picture issue out) I just wanted to leave so I politely declined and suggested we are refunded for the additional price wed paid for the pictures that we didn't receive. My husband was so polite (too polite) and mentioned it was my 30th birthday and we’d paid a lot for this.. the lady couldn’t care less and again rudely said we could either go up, rechange to get more pictures or nothing. At this point I was so fed up and disappointed and didnt want to make a scene as my husband has booked this as a gift…so we just left. Would not do this again or recommend it. Extremely overpriced for what you get and the staff were unfriendly, unhelpful, unapologetic, and the overall experience was pretty poor.

iFLY experience

My iFLY experience surpassed anything I had imagined it was fantastic so much I purchased another four flights. Brooke one of the trainers made everyone feel comfortable and confident for first time flyers. Keep up the great work guys.

You’ve got to do this!

This was awesome! Make sure you take the high flight at the end! Really easy booking process, very clear instructions on the day. Great fun! Really friendly team. Instructor Dale was fantastic…and very patient!

Just Brilliant! Highly recommend

What a place! We absolutely loved it. We went for my boys aged 12 & 14 as they were gifted a red letter day for Christmas. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to do it with them. Unfortunately their session was booked up so I went on a session an hour later. What an experience! I loved it. We all did. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, especially Richard. What a guy, he’s certainly in the right job. I will 100% be back. Can’t wait to do it again 👍

Great experience...

Had a great time, 👍 really enjoyed the experience, it's definitely worth paying the extra for the higher flight....such a buzz.I have bought vouchers too go again. Staff very welcoming and knowledgeable.

Fun and Exciting half-term treat!

Absolutely superb experience right from the outset. The staff are extremely friendly and professional, highly knowledgeable and experienced. We had a great time and will definitely be returning in future, still don’t know if I’d jump out of an actual plane though 😂

Meh

The flying is fine, although charging an extra £15 for a high fly when there's an instructor with you anyhow feels like a bit of a cheek, though could partially be to cover extra electricity for the extra wind speed needed. Moreover though you're literally stood in an office-like room with a wind tunnel in it. There's ZERO stagecraft or experience build-up. This should be like a theme park ride for the amounts of money charged.

Would definitely recommend this experience. we did 2 flights one of which was a high flight and the vr flight . Will definitely go again .

Ok...but poor after fly follow up

Took my son to Manchester, 27th Jan at 1530, flying was good, though very short....5mins flytime for £122 total. In trying to download the paid for pics and video, it kept on kicking me out, it now say's my voucher has been redeemed. I asked for help online and someone was going to ring me.....that was Saturday, it's now Monday and no one has contacted me...leaves a sour taste. Can someone from ifly contact me and sort issue please

Amazing experience for the bucket list

Went on Boxing Day as part of sons Christmas box. Wow what a thing to experience was amazing! Richard our instructor was amazing and so understanding as my son has sensory autism so clothing can be an issue for him. Richard helped and make sure he was comfy and wasn’t scared! By the second go he was up in the air and loved every moment! Thank you so much Richard and we will be returning!

What a fantastic experience for me & my granddaughter! Extremely well managed - with safety video training and an informative verbal instruction. Good equipment/ well organised and a fabulously encouraging instructor. Would recommend this to anyone !

Amazing Experience

I had a great time at iFly! The staff were very friendly and informative and they explained the process before we went in. You can get a good view of the tunnel from the seating area and are free to take pictures if you like. They offer great discounts for if you come back again within a certain amount of time, overall my experience was amazing!

I booked but decided not to go

Just Be careful! Maybe it is a good flight, and it is your choice, but I decided not to go, because when you buy the voucher or ticket there is no information, that it is a very dangerous activity and there is the risk of injury and death. And before you go on your flight you have to accept that iFLY is not responsible for any injury or death. So you can see this information only after you have booked the date of fly. Also if you live far away from the place they don't take any responsibility if you will become just a little bit later even if it is motorway traffic or any reason. They just cancel the flight in this case. Also, I found information that there were already in the UK cases of very bad injuries and death and because my way to the place was quite long I decided not to go and not to risk, and it is very sad, that you can't make an exchange or get a refund. And as I already said you get all the information after you already booked the date.

Me and my friend Joanne flew last night we are both in our fifties and it was something she wanted to do for her next birthday, It was amazing Joanne said it was one of the best things she's ever done.We both feel our experience was so good mostly because of our instructor and how good he was he made us feel at ease and his instructions enabled us to fly well his name was Danny a lovely young man who we will definitely be asking for when we book our next flight amazing. Xx

Work group trip

We booked a work group event with 12 people. Our Instructor Matt was brilliant and explained everything really well for the group, and made sure everyone had fun. We needed to score everyone and he was helpful in helping with this. Thanks Matt!

Perfect family day out!

Amazing!! Everyone was lovely and made the experience Great:) Our instructor Thomas was ace and receptionist Mia was lovely and welcoming and helped us with any questions or concerns we had.

Girlfriend got this experience for my birthday, We both arrived went up stairs sat and watched the other participants before being called in. Our instructor was excellent giving us all the info we needed. We had two flights each both with the option of a high fly which we both did. Fantastic experience deffo worth a go and would deffo do it again.

Upsell Upsell Upsell

My son purchased the tickets for my birthday and we arrived as instructed about 30 minutes early. Which we did. We followed all the instructions, and had already watched the video, but nowhere in the video did it say anything about having to wear training shoes with laces. Otherwise, I would have done so. You weren't allowed to take your phone inside, it had to go in a locker. Oh no, you weren't allowed to take photos, because they took it, then promptly tried to sell you it for £10.00 Before we went in, the instructor tried to upsell us on a "high flight" with the instructor which was £15.00 or Extra flights, on top of what we had already paid for £10.00 each. My son had spent enough on my birthday present so we told the instructor that we weren't going to be having any extras. My son had already paid £90.00 for our session, (£45.00 each) and for that we got 2 x 1 minute sessions each. We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and it's a box ticked. Would we go again? No. The instructor then followed us downstairs to reception to try and upsell again, offering a 70% discount if we bought return tickets today, we said, no thanks and left. The experience was great and I would recommend it but beware, all the upselling, and only two one minutes flight each for £90.00 left a bitter taste. There's a box down below, here on trip adviser that says, add some photos. I guess that I won't be doing that. Oh, that has just reminded me. We got an e-mail straight afterwards, trying to "sell" us the photos. We won't be back.

We love ifly Manchester!

What was a one off birthday experience has turned into a weekly hobby. We as a family are absolutely hooked. Our instructor Matt is extremely passionate about making sure we have a great time in the tunnel everything else we master is a bonus. I can definitely say this is one of the most exciting things we have done together as a family and can't wait to see our progression over the next few months. Thank you 🌟

Amazing experience

What an incredible experience. I'd love to do it more often if I could get there and it wasn't so expensive. We bought the expensive package that we downloaded all of the photos and videos. You have to hire shoes if you don't have the right ones on So be sure to have laced trainers that can be tightened. If you wear glassed you have to pay to use a full helmet instead of using the ones they have and goggles. If you would like the instructor to take you for a spin up just be prepared to pay an extra £10 on top. I can just say that it was incredible. Its The best thing I have done in a long time and my kids loved it also.

Absolutely fab

Have been about 5 times now and each time we enjoy it more. Easy to find by the ski ramp that you can see from anywhere. Plenty of free parking. Used to have a cafe but no longer, there is a Costa next door by the Ski ramp. On arrival you get a quick briefing/reminder of the hand signals and then don your suit, earbuds, helmet and googles. Usually in groups of up to 8 with one instructor. After you fly you then appear on the video so you can watch yourself whilst the next person is having there go. There is usually an option to be flown to the top of dome with an instructor for an extra fee. Afterwards you have photo and video purchasing options. My one tip - take your hairbursh as however short your hair it gets very knotted.

Family experience ifly

One of my children loved the experience and the other was too afraid. The child that was afraid to have a go, I was very pleased with the instructor as he calmed her down and never pressured her, although she didn't go on my daughter was a bit frustrated for not giving it a go. Also I was charged again for an extra go for my don but have since been called and refunded due to my daughter not participating which after this I would happily return because whilst there we received great service and a friendly atmosphere.

Amazing Experience with Fearn

Just wanted to say WHAT AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! Our instructor was Fearn and honestly I could have not asked for better - she was amazing from start to finish. She reassured us, she gave us a good brief of what will happen and the signs we look out for but not also that - she made us feel at such ease with this activity and she always had a smile on her face! Fearn made my flying experience amazing and I would definitely be booking another - hoping to have fearn again! Would 100% recommend! Thankyou Fearn and iFly team - you guys are incredible at what you do!

Lovely staff, very reassuring, fun experience

I had a voucher bought as a gift. We were warmly welcomed and all the staff we encountered were great. Especially our instructor Daniel who was very reassuring and made the experience fun. Had 2 flights and took the fly high option both times, brilliant. We were in the same session as a kid’s birthday party and the staff were great with the kids. Only downside was the coffee bar is shut so no refreshments while waiting. However we walked across to Costa and they were happy for us to bring our drinks in.

Waste of money not worth it

Waste of money sat there for over an hour to have only 2min in actually in the fly bit was disappointed would not recommend but if a rip off really

Go for it

for a 56 year old guy who puts on a few extra pounds each year, the sensation of flying was a "blast". Instructor was patient, helpful and looked like spiderman during his demonstration. Great experience.

Best experience ever

I had my first fly just yesterday as I have received it as a gift and I have to admit that I was so nervous. But the team was great and the instructor we have received was just amazing! Thanks Daniel T. He was soo professional and made us relaxing so I actually enjoyed it and dare to go up high too as Dan made me feel safe about it. Great job 👏 would definitely go back again if I could choose the session with this instructor that would be amazing too. ☺️ Well done guys. Safety cleanliness and hygiene is just spotless 🥳👍

Fantastic experience

From first turning up and meeting the friendly and helpful front desk staff we were shown upstairs to get ready for our flights. My Son(10) and I met our instructor Jack who instantly put us at ease. We were kitted out and found ourselves ushered towards the air lock. Our flights were absolutely out of this world, so much fun and always felt so safe. So good that we’ve bought vouchers to return to try and expand our knowledge of this sport. I would 100% recommend this to anyone. Previous reviews mention the facilities. Plenty of toilets that were spotlessly clean, there may be no vending machines or the likes but we didn’t feel like this was needed anyway

Terrible facilities

Kids said it was OK and different to usual things we do like escape rooms and adventure golf. Facilities are rubbish. Not even a vending machine. No hot water in loo tap that worked. It's like being in a very poor portacabin waiting. My advice is that if you have kids, great. If you are adults, go do the real thing, you won't regret it.

Adrenalin filled day out for all the family. My 9 year old was worried. On the day she absolutely loved it. It was an amazing experience that we will try again. We were ‘buzzing’ after the experience. The instructors were very considerate to the different members in our group. Very encouraging but not pushy. Very experience instructors.

Great morning out!

My partner attended at the IFLY in Manchester and we throughly enjoyed it! Managed to get a Black Friday deal. I highly recommend that you go however it is a little pricy considering you're only flying for maybe 2 minutes max. Although once we were finished they did provide us with loads of great discounts! We worked with Matt today and he was so nice! Everything is well organised and in order. Always felt at ease. We prepaid for the “High fly” however its the same price when you're there and they offer you to do it whilst you’re doing your flights. Also extra flights whilst you're in there are £14. So if you wish to try longer then you can time considering. All in all i will absolutely be re attending whenever i can. Loved it!

Fabulous experience

I had my skydive experience gifted for my 60th birthday. On the day I was very nervous, but when I saw how the instructors operate I felt better. When I did the fly I loved it 😃 would have liked to have a longer experience because I enjoyed it so much, There were children & Adults doing it & everyone enjoyed it, I would highly recommend it to everyone who has thought about trying it to go for it. Before I left I rebooked so I can take my gransons to have a skydive experience 😃

Brilliant fun

Fantastic time. We had Nate as our instructor - friendly, knowledgeable, funny and put everyone at ease. The pre flight talk was excellent and he gave each of us a post flight analysis and individual tips on how we'd done when we 'd finished. My daughter and I went together and we were put in a small group of 6 - all early 20's except me in my late 50's. It was a mixed ability group - a couple had been before, 3 of us were novices and one of the guys was much more advanced and was completing training to fly independently. Nate's teaching was given at the appropriate level for us all. Would thoroughly recommend it and looking forward to going back again
