Absolutely would recommend this wine and tapas tour in Madrid. Jimena is extremely knowledgeable as a sommelier and provides excellent information regarding each of the wines. The pairings were perfect and really enhanced the experience. Not only were the wines top notch, but the food was as well. Jimena made the evening very fun while immersing us in both the Spanish wine and food cultures of the regions. We also had the opportunity to explore areas of Madrid which were new to us. Great experience all around!

Fabulous Wine & Tapas Tour

We had the best time on this tour in Madrid. Jimena taught us all about Vermut, Cava and several white and red wines, plus many foods as well. We tried the best goat cheese I’ve ever had. Don’t second guess taking this tour, just book it! Learned so much, drank so much, and made many memories.

We did the tour with Ismael. Ismael was fantastic- excellent knowledge of wines and the Spanish wine industry. Tasted several interesting wines. Tapas were good, and it is run in an interesting part of town. An excellent experience, highly recommended.

No better way to experience the culinary heart of the city

Jimena was a great guide. We did the tapas and wine tour with her. My only regret is that we didn't spend more time together. Jimena was very knowledgeable about wines and answered all of our questions. Learning about the food and culture made the experience very enriching and I'm grateful for it. Will plan to return to Madrid or the surrounding areas and take a longer and more wine focused tour with Jimena. Thank you again!

I originally met Jimena during the pandemic on virtual wine tastings back in the US. so when we booked this trip to Spain, I knew we had to take a tour with her. We had the best experience on Jimena’s Central Madrid wine and tapas tour! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Madrid that wants to learn more about Spanish wine and traditional tapas. Had the best time with Jimena for our central madrid tapas and wine tour!! It was so lovely learning about the local Spanish food and wines, Jimena was so knowledgeable. This private wine tour was exactly what we wanted. Prior to visiting Madrid we searched high and low for the perfect wine experience in a short window due to all the attractions we wanted to visit. Excellent experience

We did a half day wine tour and saw two different wineries of different sizes. Our tour guide, Jimena, was knowledgeable and friendly. We had our kids with us, and everyone was able to ejoy themselves. The homemade tapas were delicious at Bodega Andres Mortes as was the wine. I thoroughly enjoy learning about wine and have done several courses. Both of the tours and the wine tastings were educational, yet fun. I strongly recommend this tour for anybody interested in wine and wanting to see some of the Spanish countryside.

We loved that it was a private tour and the Sommelier was very knowledgeable and cared about finding Tapas and wine that we would like, we had different tastes and she accommodated us all!

A truly wonderful evening! Jemina is a terrific guide and expert. We learned about different wines, regions and grapes. Jemina was very informative and answered all questions we had and also tailored the wine and tapas tasting to our preferences. The bars and restaurants we visited were superb and showed us various local establishments. She’s very friendly and it felt like an evening out with a close friend. Booked a private wine and tapas tour with Colorful Wines. Met Jimena, who is very friendly, warm and a wine expert. She brought a map to show us the wine regions of the various wines we tasted and we, also, had delicious tapas. It was a huge fun!

We had booked a wine tasting by Jimena at a wonderful wine bar in Chueca. The wine bar is very well located and easy to reach. Jimena is an outstanding wine expert and very patient in explaining. It was all in all a very nice and successful team event, which we can recommend to everyone!

Excellent wine tour of Ribera del Duero!

Our family recently had the pleasure of visiting the Ribera del Duero area through a day tour with Colorful Wines. The tour included a morning wine visit/tasting, a gastronomic lunch in Aranda de Duero (with visit to a historic underground cellar) and an afternoon visit/wine tasting at another bodega. This day was one of the highlights of our entire trip. Jimena is exceptionally knowledgeable regarding wine and was able to answer our multiple questions throughout the day. She also worked with us ahead of the tour regarding the bodegas included in the visit and the lunch menu, as two of our family members are somewhat picky eaters. I highly recommend Jimena and her company, Colorful Wines, if you are planning a visit to Madrid and would like a more in depth wine experience. We will definitely be booking tours with her in the future!

Private wine tour with Jimena

Our hotel set us up with Jimena of Colorful Wines for a private wine tour in Madrid and she was absolutely wonderful. She gave us lots of information and instruction about the wines and wine tasting. She answered all of our questions (many many questions :)), and was even able to provide food that was gluten free as I have Celiac disease. We spent a very fun evening with her, as if we were with a very knowledgable friend.

Marathon Madness

We had an amazing tour. Picked us up and dropped us off despite road closures. Really amazing wine and knowledge. Beautiful visit to the vines and then get to learn the process of the wine and taste three types. So friendly and accommodating! Must do in Madrid! 😊🍷

AMAZING WINE TOUR!!!

My boyfriend and I did this tour together and we absolutely loved it! Jimena,the guide and owner of the company, made this tour personal and intimate. It was just the two of us and it was an up close and personal experience. We were able to see the vineyard, a historic cellar and taste the wines guided by a fifth generation wine maker. This experience is not something a large tour company with a lot of people would have been able to do. We highly recommend this tour. You will feel VIP!! The tour was approximately 4 hours, which is perfect if you only have a limited time in Madrid. It allows you to see the country side and experience great wine, returning in plenty of time for other activities. Jimena is very educated on wine and we learned a lot. I cant say enough wonderful things about this tour and our experience. You will not be disappointed!

Great Tour of Madrid Winery

Jimena set up a spectacular wine tour for my girlfriend and I at a small, 5-generation winery outside of Madrid. We saw everything that goes into winemaking, from touring the vineyard and tasting grapes to the bodega where the wine is fermented in huge clay tanks and finally to the ancient cellar where it sits in bottles. We finished our tour with a tasting. Jimena did a great job translating and answering all of our questions. Thanks Jimena!

A Wonderful Personalized Experience

We decided at the last minute in Madrid to book a wine tour and Jimena could not have been more accommodating. She arranged on one day's notice to take us to a small family owned Organic winery about 35 minutes outside of Madrid. We were promptly picked up at our hotel for the scenic ride to the vineyard during which Jimena explained to us the varieties of wines in Spain. Upon our arrival at the vineyard we were greeted by the owner's daughter who took us out into the scenic vineyards and explained the growing and harvesting process to us in detail. We visited various parts of the vineyard and saw the variety of grapes grown. We than returned to the winery and reviewed the winemaking process and proceeded to sample the various wines which were accompanied by a tapas in the lovely outdoor tasting area. We have been on other winery tours but this was such a personal experience. Jimena was knowledgable and interesting and we would highly recommend this tour.

Excellent experience! An incredible and very well-informed guide to tasting wines and tapas in key places in Madrid. It was a short and very pleasant route that we enjoyed very much that can be included in planning a day where you want to do several essential things in Madrid!!
