Couldn't hear or understand the tour guide.

The tour guide was hard to understand, and half the time her Bluetooth system cut out and we couldn't hear what she was saying. Save your money, buy some skip the line tickets, and take the tour yourself.

Mayti was a Great guide and we enjoyed learning about the history of Madrid. The Royal Palace is a must see!

Walk and talk.

The Palace is marvellous. Many different colours of marble. Our guide was excellent. Knowledgeable and witty. She took us around at a reasonable pace so we could all hear what was being said. So much packed into the available time.

Walking tour and palace

Our tour guide was very friendly, and very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend it. It was a great experience. Can’t go wrong with this one!

Palace tour

The tour of the palace was very good and our guide knew a lot of info . The palace is amazing and well worth the visit including the armoury I was disappointed that the walking tour was a bit lacking on information as it was just a walk to the palace

Good tour

Overall a good tour. Downside is there were technical issues throughout tour where we couldn’t properly hear our guide. Other issue was that although our guide was very nice, her English skills need a lot of work. Several mispronunciations and probably some interesting points were missed due to translation issues.

Recommend highly.

I loved this tour going through the old town and getting a deeper understanding of Spains and Madrids diverse history. The Royal Palace is extraordinary! I recommend.

Good experience

The tour was okay but we're always having problem with the headset most of the time we couldn't hear what the guide was saying. Our guide Sergio has a sense of humor which makes the tour more interesting.

Quick but interesting and fun...

Our tour guide, Sergio, was informative and fun. The old town part of the tour was very short, only a few blocks. I think the old town tour is really more about having something to talk about on the walk to the palace. The palace itself is lovely but really covers about 10 rooms. The park where the hunting grounds used to be is really beautiful. It's a nice chunk of forest in the middle of a major urban area.

Too crowded and bad audio

I feel really terrible for giving a bad review, but it was probably one of the worst tours I have been on... Our guide Oscar was okay, his audio was messing up the entire time we were on the tour. The group said a few things to him about it, but it never seemed to rectify. I also felt like the tour was not navigated well enough throughout the Palace... there were about 30 of us and it was hard sticking in the same area when our guide would stop and move every 2 minutes. You could tell other groups were frustrated by us holding them up. The stars I give are simply for the beauty we experienced on the walk and the Palace, but I feel like I could have gotten more out of a planned tour with the Palace audio guides or paying extra for a private guide and smaller group. Maybe it was just an off day, but I do not recommend it.

Palace tour

Good tour, would have liked it a little shorter because it was a little repetitive the information of each room. Tour became a little boring towards the end.

Bad booking experience

I was talking with you immediately after booking and paying about one change of this tour for 13th of June because I made a mistake and nobody returned to me at least with an answer.

Well worth it.

Well organized. The audio was clear and Jose did a very nice job of keeping things moving and giving us interesting facts. The sights are very impressive. It’s a walking tour so it’s not overly long either.

Well worth having a tour guide

We had a fantastic tour guide for this experience. He provided very interesting information about the local area and also had a lot of knowledge about the history of the palace and Madrid. Well worth having a tour guide. Would highly recommend.

Concise, but good enough tour -- Not for mobility challenged people

We enjoyed this tour since we could walk through the historical (old) part of Madrid on the vicinities of the Royal Palace. Then we entered the Royal Palace without making any line whatsoever. The only complain was the audio system that lacked the strength or quality to hear everything. (One star down for it) The guide was very knowledgeable and kind and we could ask as many questions as we wanted. I'd recommend this tour for people able of walking a mile or two without any problems. If you are unable to walk long distances, this tour is not for you.

cancelled tour

we were told 3 days before the tour that the palace was closed for 2 days and therefore couldn't take the tour. Surely they would have known this a long time before and we had to make other arrangements as we couldn't make the alternative date offered.

Great experience!

Maria, our tour guide, was wonderful! She took the time to explain everything about Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace of Madrid. She was mindful about everyone’s safety and made sure our group stayed together. Her English was very good and I had no problem understanding her. She also answered every question she was asked. 👏🏼 The company called me the day before and let me know the time was changed by an hour due to rain in Madrid. Fortunately, the rain subsided to a drizzle so, walking around was not a problem. They definitely know what they’re doing! I definitely recommend them. 👍🏼

Wonderful Tour with Sara

Sarah was absolutely wonderful. The amount of knowledge that she has is on unsurpassed. We learned a lot . It was small viejo of 8 which makes it worth the price .

Good tour of the Palace

Although the group was large and half the time the microphone didn’t work, our tour guide did a great job.

Excellent Tour of the Plaza Major Neighborhood and Palace

Our tour guide, Sergio, was wonderful. He explained everything very clearly. We learned much more about the Plaza Mayor neighborhood and the Royal Palace than we would have if we had just toured on our own.

Exploring Madrids past and Royal Palace

Exploring parts of Madrids past on our way to the Royal Palace with our guide Maria was very interesting and informative. She really knew her subject, giving us all just enough information, but not too much. On the tour of the Palace, we learned about the palaces past and present Kings and queens along with some of the historyof the region. The Palace itself was incredibly. The decor was something to behold. Definitely a must do tour in our opinion.

Great Tour!

Really enjoyed the tour given by Maria! We were able to hear her very well and she was very knowledgeable. The tour was a good pace and we really enjoyed it.

Good Visif

Sara did a wonderful job describing the history, significance, and importance of everything we passed as we made our to the castle. She went out of her way to point out small details throughout rooms in the palace, gave history to help us understand each room better, and answered every question she was asked throughly. We would highly recommend this tour as the guides are knowledgeable and thorough.

Amazing palace tour by fun and tickets

We were lucky enough to have Maria as a tour guide again on our Madrid walking tour and a tour of the royal palace. She is just an amazing fountain of knowledge and answered every question the group had. Thank you Maria! And thank you fun and tickets!

Palace of Madrid tour

The guide was nice and the palace was beautiful. However, there were 30 people in our tour and the palace was very crowded. There were so many people funneling around from room to room that we kept losing reception on our ear pieces.

Informative

Very knowledgeable tour guide, could’ve enjoyed another 30 mins or so in old town learning more about the history and how locals enjoy it

Good tour if you want to spend lots of time with a tour leader in the Palace.

Audio for walkers was glitchy the whole tour. The tour leader apologised profusely however think the issue was that the group was so large and there was a huge gap from her to the last members of the group. We thought there would have been more time walking around the old parts. The Palace was great but we could have done most of this in our own time so that the focus could have been on the old areas.

Altogether, a reasonable tour

There were a LOT of people on our tour. When we got to the palace, she added another 3 people who asked to join. Entirely too many people. The good news is that The tour guide was knowledgeable and pleasant - María.

Beatriz Buenisimo!

Beatriz was amazing! She knew her history and coupled the education with wit and humor. The tour was great…Beatriz was incredible! I’d recommend the private tour to anyone…especially if she is leading it. Superb!

Disappointed, because of group size didn't get much out of it.

I felt sorry for the tour guide who actually had great knowledge but had a group of 30 people. That meant that when she walked if you were by the back of the line you couldn't hear what was being said. Way too many people for a tour. It was done by Fun and Tickets. Would never do a tour run by them again. I eve asked when we arrived if all these people will be on same tour. They said it would be divided into 2 groups but that didn't happen.

Great tour guide! So so sound system.

Sergio is a great tour guide. Our tour group was very large in my opinion [over 30 people]. That made the group unweildy and, I think, hard for some people to hear despite the simple sound system used by the guide and participants.

Couldn't hear

We could barely hear Segio during the tour. And I thought the tour was too long in the palace especially bc I could not hear half of it.

Not worth it.

One of the most boring tours I have ever been on - he was so high out of his mind his eyes were closed the whole time. Just random facts with no story or flow. It definitly wasnt worth the money. No idea how this has 5 stars - I guess we just had bad luck with the tour guide. We went to all the attractions but i just wish we had a better guide.

A great walking tour

Beautiful palace with beautiful historical furnishings. Amazed at the workmanship of furniture, and paintings on ceilings. Absolutely stunning and interesting history.

The tour through the old town and arriving at the palace. I loved the history lesson walking the streets!

Reservation was for English, but tour was English and Spanish

Royal Palace was amazing, Unfortunately, audio was not clear, interrupted a few times. Tour guide was speaking English and Spanish, very confusing. We had reservation for English tour.

Amazing Royal Palace

Tour guide was very knowledgeable of all the area and gave a complete history of the area. Everything about the Royal Palace was amazing and rooms and quarters are beautiful and the Armory is full of historical pieces.

Great tour- a lot of walking

Beatriz was awesome. Very knowledgable- was able to answer a lot of questions. She was nice, and fun to be with. We left feeling we got our money worth and were more than happy to tip.

Excellent tour of Royal Palace with Pilar

Great tour of Royal Palace. Everything with Viator worked like clockwork. Our guide Pilar was excellent, very knowledgeable, courteous, excellent English, considerate of the needs of the group. We enjoyed this tour very much.

Must see if you are in Madrid Spain

My family and I did the walking tour. We didn't have to wait in line so long to get in. Our tour guide handled the tickets, which are included in the amount we paid on this tour. This is a wonderful tour, our tour guide was really nice and knowledgeable about the history and area. The Royal Palace is huge. Our tour guide only showed us the rooms that they are allowed to show. The palace has over 3000 rooms. But be prepared to walk up and down stairs. The tour lasted nearly 3 hours. This is a must-see if you are in Madrid.

Do not purchase this tour

Possibly the worst tour I’ve never been on. I would not have joined the tour if it did not offer last minute entry ticket to the palace. the tour itself was disappointing. 1) the tour is administered in English, but the tour guide barely spoke any English at all. Why set up an English tour (vs. Spanish) if the guide can’t speak English? It was excruciating trying to follow what she said for the whole 2 hours. 2) the tour guide had very little knowledge of what she as showing us and did not mentioned / glossed over the most historically and culturally significant aspects of the tour. 3) the pacing was extremely slow and most people got bored. You should not be joining this tour!
