Absolutely one of our best visits in Spain. History and understanding turned us from slightly antagonistic to wanting to watch a proper bullfight. Excellent experience from start to finish

Nice tour for learning and see something about Spanish bullfighting

The tour is just long enough as it use to be. The audioguide tells you a clear story about the bullfighting. Only the text at the viator website is a bit misleading: it says that the visit to the museum is included. But the museum is free: you don't need a ticket. Besides: the museum was closed for a couple of months becausenof restauration.

Don’t miss this one!! 5 stars++ for ALL ages. Easy to get to by bus. Engaging and educational.

Great choice!! Fun for all ages. Engaging activities. Self guided audio tour in our language with headphones for each individual. Had fun AND learned a lot about this sacred bull ceremony.

We had a great time visiting this Bullfighting Museum! We would love to come back for the actual bullfighting event.

Disappointed the museum was closed so just saw the ring there was a large group of students in front of us so made difficult to see things

Fantastic tour with Guillermo

We had a fantastic guided tour of Las Ventas with a group of Secondary School pupils from Glasgow. Guillermo, our guide, was knowledgeable and spoke great English. It was the highlight of our trip to Madrid for many of our pupils.

Great tour with excellent tour guide Jaime!

Really interesting tour of the Bull Ring with Jaime who bought the tour to life explaining history & culture of the life of the bull and Matadors! Totally fascinating Jaime answered all our questions and welcomed discussion and good humour. I felt a bit dubious about going to the Bull Ring but really enjoyed it. Can recommend this tour to all who are interested in Spanish culture & history.

Interesting place to visit when you're in Madrid

Great museum to pass a few hours. It's an audio tour around the bullring and you can take some fun, interactive pictures after the visit

A Part of Spanish History

The audio tour was done very well. Beautiful arena with an interesting history. The interactive part of the tour with Photo Booth and virtual reality was very enjoyable. We had a great time.

Amazing history lesson...

Amazing history lesson about bullfighting…so glad we went! The simulator was fun, but maybe wipe the head viewer off between people??

The staff were great, the architecture was interesting and being able to enter the actual bull ring was great.

Las Ventas Bullfighting expreience

The Audio guide was comprehensive in all things regarding bullfighting from the fighters, the venue, the bulls and the many people who respectfully earn a living from it or benefit such as the poor who are fed. It even had a Wii app so you could be a matador with the cape. Doing this prior to attending the bullfight itself is a must to understand and appreciate the process and the traditions of it. I have no problem with bull fighting. It is a dangerous sport, the beast does not suffer and 1000s make a living from it.

Give it a try.

Really interesting place to visit with good commentary throughout. Walk at your own pace. Definitely worth a visit. Viator are cheaper than the venue.

Unique tour at your own pace. The commentary gives you a good sense of the importance of bullfighting in Spain

This self guided audio tour was excellent, and we took the full 90 minutes to explore and take lots of photos. It was great that they were preparing for upcoming bullfights as there was some activity around the arena. We are not typically blood sport fans but the respect for the bulls and matadors comes through equally and inspired us to book tickets for a bullfight. The museum is all about the matadors and we skipped a bit as we don’t know them but still interesting.

Great time at Las Ventas!

This trip was fabulous. Had been to many actual bullfights but never done this tour. The history , the displays , the interactive parts were very informative . Being able to walk out into the arena was so exciting . I would recommend this tour as a must do in Madrid ! Well done Viator !!

Wonderful building

A wonderful building steeped in history and still being used today for the nations tradition of bullfighting. The tour gives you a good insight into the behind scene of bullfighting. Definitely recommend the tour with audio to get the full history.

Amazing Experience

A great experience to see the bullring and museum. Audio-guide available in English providing some great detail to the workings and history of the building & bull fights. Plenty to see, able to walk around the stalls, the ring itself and the functional areas, finishing in the museum, which had some great artefacts. Staff were friendly &helpful and spoke English. Worth a visit.

Fantastic and educational self-paced tour!

Excellent tour of the bullring! We learned so much about the history, cultural and artistic significance, and logistics of the sport. You can show up anytime during opening hours and tour the facility with your audio guide; so it’s very flexible. We highly recommend for anyone in Madrid!

Fun experience. Audio guided tour that was very informative. Would have enjoyed a live tour so we could ask questions. But this was well organized and interesting.

Wonderful experience

Loved all especially the museum. It was wonderful to see sll the different bullfighter clothes, trajes de luces and “capotes”

Amazing experience

I liked the virtual reality experience it was so rewarding to feel what the matador risks and to know that I can fight a bull even virtually. The only downside is that the virtual reality game should be longer. I enjoyed the rewarding training I received from the trainer who was patient and encouraging. The photo of me being a matador fighting s bull, that I received was the good surprise.

Great Self-guided audio tour of Las Ventas Bullring and Museum. Fascinating!

This tour was a lot of fun, and very interesting. There was more to see and do than we expected. We actually did a 3D virtual matador sequence with goggles, with a bull in the bullring! It was so realistic. We also got our photos taken, and our heads put on the bodies of matadors. It looked so real our friends thought we were really in the ring! This is a self-guided audio tour, which worked well. The audio portion made it easy to tour the museum and bullring, in a step-by-step process. We learned a great deal about the history of bullfighting, and the impact this has had on the Spanish culture. The entire tour was fascinating.

Complete disorganized chaos

Arrived for 10 to be told that it's actually not opening till 11. Kept being sent to different places to try and exchange my viator voucher. When I eventually got into the place it was great, such a good place to see. However as I was taking photos in the arena someone turned the sprinkler on and absolutely soaked my drenching my phone. No Apology or anything. At the end I was rushed out as they obviously has some event on.

Great way to learn about the history of bullfighting without having to actually go to one! Self guided and at your own pace. Definitely recommend.

Spanish culture

Very informative tour with audio of this impressive stadium and Museum. The staff are very friendly and helpful and even recommended an excellent restaurant nearby (Cesar Las Ventas). Well worth a visit even if you aren't a fan of bullfighting.

nice architecture, unfortunately the tour glorifies animal torture without any neutral point of view

Historically important but not ok to the standards of the 21st century. Of course we knew that it is a bullfighting arena but I hoped that the tour would somehow include part of the controversy of the cruelty the animals have to suffer. Unfortunately this was not the case, the tour totally ignored the suffering and did nothing but glorify the Matadors. The arena as worth a visit, the buildings architecture is impressive, but I highly recommend not to waste your money on the tour.

Great tour to learn the history of bullfighting

This was a great and informative tour of a beautiful bullfighting arena. The virtual reality game was a welcome added segment of the tour. The tour finished in the museum to complete all unanswered questions

the show was amazing, full to capacity, everyone on there feet screaming OLE, it was phenomenal, very orderly, when buying tickets ensure you have tickets to see the bullfight not only the guided tour.

Would have loved to see a bullfight, but wasn't in town for the right day

We really wanted to be fully imersed in the cultur while visiting Spain. We would have loved to see an actual bullfight , but they are on Sundays & we were due in another town by the weekend. We toured the bullring & enjoyed the self-guided walking tour.

There is a massive contstruction inside

Waste of time and money to go inside during this time of the year. Unfortunately, everyone have to earn money (Viator & Las Ventas) and tourist where not informed beforehand that there is nothing to see because there is a huge tent being built in the middle of the bull fight ring. Not worth it.

Cool tour!

Loved this tour of Las Ventas and I would have given it a 5/5 if it wasn’t for the audio part of it, most of it was ok, but some parts a bit monotonous. Overall, we got to see the bull ring, some stuffed bulls, and an indoor museum. Recommend this place if you’re into learning about Bullfighting.

Great tour! Great history and background of bullfighting. Fun parts include virtual reality bullfight and stepping into the actual arena! Absolutely loved it and so did my family.

Excellent Tour

Inside the stadium, you will learn of history of Las Ventas, see the impressive architecture, visit the stands and gate from which the bulls emerge, see the infirmary, and the chapel where bullfighters worship before their fight. There is also a free virtual reality game where you become the matador. The tour is self-guided, so you can take your time in the stadium and the museum. TIP: Opt for a break, have lunch (there are a few restaurant options within a 5 minute walk), and go back to see the museum. I highly recommend this experience!

Great self guided tour

Wow- what a great self guided tour. We loved this tour for a few reasons: -Flexibility to visit at whatever time worked for our schedule - Ability to go at our own speed once the tour started - Feeling of having the bullring to ourselves- this was a real benefit - Museum was very interesting and a nice way to end the tour - Overall content on the tour was very informative Take the train here- it's very easy and the train stop is right below the bullring.

Interesting Audio Tour

While I am strongly against the practice of bullfighting I appreciated the rituals and rules that are in place for this ‘sport’ The bullring is an impressive building and a lot of information is given via the headset. Walking out into the the centre of the bullring was impressive.

Unexpectedly amazing

When in Madrid, do as the Madrilenos! Their love for Bullfighting is palpable, even in an empty plaza. This is a must see.

<p>Our experience was perhaps, unique. On the day of our tour, the bull ring was an open market with free admission. There was some confusion on getting the audio tour so a gentlemen took us on a personal tour, that was exceptional. I'd offer five stars but I found the information to be a bit unclear on where to go for the tour. Also, the person behind the desk at the Museum, was confused when presented our voucher.</p>

<p>We rode the metro to the bullring and once there it was not open although we had confirmed our booking. A motorcycle event was taking place and they were setting up for that. Extra waist of 22.00 to get there and back. Very disappointed about lack of notification</p>

<p>It is not worth it. Going from numbered site to numbered site was not clearly marked and difficult to follow. The place was cold and dirty. The center bullring was completely obstructed by a blow-up bubble structure erected for a pop concert. I highly recommend not taking this tour.</p>
